RESUMO

Germanium-based monochalcogenides (i.e., GeS and GeSe) with desirable properties are promising candidates for the development of next-generation optoelectronic devices. However, they are still stuck with challenges, such as relatively fixed electronic band structure, unconfigurable optoelectronic characteristics, and difficulty in achieving free-standing growth. Herein, it is demonstrated that two-dimensional (2D) free-standing GeS1-xSex (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) nanoplates can be grown by low-pressure rapid physical vapor deposition (LPRPVD), fulfilling a continuously composition-tunable optical bandgap and electronic band structure. By leveraging the synergistic effect of composition-dependent modulation and free-standing growth, GeS1-xSex-based optoelectronic devices exhibit significantly configurable hole mobility from 6.22 × 10-4 to 1.24 cm2V-1s⁻1 and tunable responsivity from 8.6 to 311 A W-1 (635 nm), as x varies from 0 to 1. Furthermore, the polarimetric sensitivity can be tailored from 4.3 (GeS0.29Se0.71) to 1.8 (GeSe) benefiting from alloy engineering. Finally, the tailored imaging capability is also demonstrated to show the application potential of GeS1-xSex alloy nanoplates. This work broadens the functionality of conventional binary materials and motivates the development of tailored polarimetric optoelectronic devices.

Metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors as basic electronic devices of integrated circuits have been greatly developed and widely used in the past decades. However, as the thickness of the conducting channel decreases, the interface electronic scattering between the gate oxide layer and the channel significantly impacts the performance of the transistor. To address this issue, van der Waals heterojunction field-effect transistors (vdWJFETs) have been proposed using two-dimensional semiconductors, which utilize the built-in electric field at the sharp van der Waals interface to regulate the channel conductance without the need of a complex gate oxide layer. In this study, a novel dual-junction vdWJFET composed of a MoS2 channel and a Te nanosheet gate has been developed. This device achieves an ultralow subthreshold swing (SS) and an extremely low current hysteresis, greatly surpassing the single-junction vdWJFET. In the transistor, the SS decreases from 475.04 to 68.3 mV dec-1, nearly approaching the theoretical limit of 60 mV dec-1 at room temperature. The pinch-off voltage (Vp) decreases from -4.5 to -0.75 V, with a current hysteresis of ∼10 mV and a considerable field-effect mobility (µ) of 36.43 cm2 V-1 s-1. The novel dual-junction vdWJFET provides a new approach to realize a transistor with a theoretical ideal SS and a negligible current hysteresis toward low-power electronic applications.

Two-dimensional (2D) gallium selenide (GaSe) holds great promise for pioneering advancements in photodetection due to its exceptional electronic and optoelectronic properties. However, in conventional photodetectors, 2D GaSe only functions as a photosensitive layer, failing to fully exploit its inherent photosensitive potential. Herein, we propose an ultrasensitive photodetector based on out-of-plane 2D GaSe/MoSe2 heterostructure. Through interfacial engineering, 2D GaSe serves not only as the photosensitive layer but also as the photoconductive gain and passivation layer, introducing a photogating effect and extending the lifetime of photocarriers. Capitalizing on these features, the device exhibits exceptional photodetection performance, including a responsivity of 28 800 A/W, specific detectivity of 7.1 × 1014 Jones, light on/off ratio of 1.2 × 106, and rise/fall time of 112.4/426.8 µs. Moreover, high-resolution imaging under various wavelengths is successfully demonstrated using this device. Additionally, we showcase the generality of this device design by activating the photosensitive potential of 2D GaSe with other transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) such as WSe2, WS2, and MoS2. This work provides inspiration for future development in high-performance photodetectors, shining a spotlight on the potential of 2D GaSe and its heterostructure.

Objective: To investigate the impact of sarcopenia on the 10-year risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) among individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods: This study included the clinical, laboratory, and body composition data of 1491 patients with T2DM who were admitted to the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Tianjin Union Medical Center from July 2018 to July 2023. The China-PAR model was utilized to evaluate cardiovascular disease risk. Associations between ASCVD risk and various clinical parameters were analyzed, and the relationship between body composition parameters and ASCVD risk was assessed using logistic regression. Results: The analysis revealed that T2DM patients with sarcopenia had a higher 10-year ASCVD risk compared to those without sarcopenia, with reduced muscle mass independently predicting an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. This association was significant among female T2DM patients, while male T2DM patients with sarcopenia showed a marginally higher median ASCVD risk compared to their non-sarcopenic counterparts. ASCVD risk inversely correlated with body muscle parameters and positively correlated with fat content parameters. Specifically, height- and weight-adjusted fat mass (FM, FM%, FMI) were identified as risk factors for ASCVD. Conversely, muscle parameters adjusted for weight and fat (ASM%, SMM%, FFM%, ASM/FM, SMM/FM, FMM/FM) were protective against ASCVD risk. These findings highlight the critical role of sarcopenia in influencing cardiovascular disease risk among Chinese patients with T2DM, as predicted by the China-PAR model. Conclusion: This study highlights the importance of sarcopenia in T2DM patients, not only as an indicator of ASCVD risk, but possibly as an independent risk factor in this demographics.

OBJECTIVES: 'Super-agers,' individuals over 80 with memory abilities comparable to those 20-30 years younger. The relationship between super-agers and dietary acid load (DAL) is an area that warrants further investigation. We aim to examine the link between DAL and super-agers and assess DAL's effects on cognitive functions across different age groups and cognitive domains. DESIGN: Employing a cross-sectional analysis of the 2011-2014 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) data, we utilized propensity score analysis and multivariate-adjusted regression to mitigate confounding factors. SETTING: Older adults aged 60 and above in the United States. PARTICIPANTS: Our primary analysis encompassed 985 older adults, supplemented by a sensitivity analysis with 2,522 participants. MEASUREMENTS: DAL was assessed through potential renal acid load (PRAL), estimated net acid excretion (NAEes), and net endogenous acid production (NEAP) indices. RESULTS: Super-agers demonstrate a preference for alkaline diets, shown by their lower DAL indices. After inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW), multivariate-adjusted logistic regression reveals that each unit reduction in NAEes and PRAL increases the chances of being a super-ager by 3.9% and 3.0%, respectively. The DAL's impact on cognitive function becomes more pronounced with age. Lower PRAL and NAEes scores are significantly linked to higher situational memory and overall cognitive performance scores in those over 70, with these effects being even more pronounced in participants over 80. CONCLUSION: This research pioneers in demonstrating that super-agers prefer an alkaline diet, highlighting the potential role of alkaline diet in countering cognitive decline associated with aging.

BACKGROUND: Semaglutide is a relatively new anti-hyperglycemic agent that was shown to carry cardioprotective potentials. However, the exact effects of semaglutide on diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM) and their underlining mechanism remain unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of semaglutide on myocardium injury and cardiac function in DCM mice and its potential mechanisms, with emphasis on its effects on Cx43 and electrophysiological remodeling. METHODS: C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into four groups: control group, semaglutide group, diabetes group, and diabetes + semaglutide treatment group. Type 1 diabetes were induced by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin. Mice in the semaglutide intervention group were injected subcutaneously with semaglutide (0.15 mg/kg) every week for 8 weeks. The blood glucose, cardiac function, oxidative stress markers, apoptosis, expression of Sirt1, AMPK, Cx43, and electrocardiogram of mice in each group were evaluated. RESULTS: Treatment with semaglutide alleviated glucose metabolism disorders and improved cardiac dysfunction in diabetic mice. In addition, semaglutide ameliorated the increase in oxidative stress and apoptosis in diabetic heart. Sirt1/AMPK pathway was activated after semaglutide treatment. Furthermore, diabetic mice showed reduced expression of Cx43 in the myocardium, accompanied by changes in electrocardiogram, including significantly prolonged RR, QRS, QT and QTc interval. Semaglutide treatment restored Cx43 expression and reversed the above-mentioned ECG abnormalities. CONCLUSIONS: Our research results showed that semaglutide protected against oxidative stress and apoptosis in diabetic heart, thereby improving cardiac function and electrophysiological remodelling in DCM mice, which may attribute to activation of Sirt1/AMPK pathway and restore of Cx43 expression.

BACKGROUND: Fat to muscle mass ratio (FMR), a novel index integrating fat and muscle composition, has garnered attention in age-related conditions such as type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and neurodegenerative diseases. Despite this research on the relationship between FMR and cognitive impairment (CI) in T2DM remains scarce. This study aimed to investigate the sex-specific association between FMR and CI in elderly T2DM patients. METHODS: A total of 768 elderly (> 60 years) T2DM in-patients (356 men and 412 women) were recruited from the Department of Endocrinology at Tianjin Nankai University affiliated hospital. Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) was used to assess body composition, and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) was used to evaluate cognitive performance. T2DM patients were categorized into normal cognitive function (NC) and cognitive impairment (CI) groups based on MoCA scores and stratified by sex. Binary logistic regression was employed to examine the association between FMR and CI. RESULTS: Among the participants, 42.7% of men and 56.3% of women experienced cognitive deterioration. Women with CI exhibited lower body mass index (BMI) and skeletal muscle mass index (SMI), while men with cognitive disorders showed lower SMI, FMR, and higher fat mass index (FMI). FMR was consistently unrelated to cognition in females, irrespective of adjustment made. However, in males, FMR was significantly associated with an increasing risk of cognitive dysfunction after adjusting for demographic and clinical variables (OR: 1.175, 95% CI: 1.045-1.320, p = 0.007). Furthermore, for each 0.1 increase in FMR, the incidence of CI rose by 31.1% after additional adjustment for BMI. In males, the prevalence of CI increased sequentially across FMR quartiles (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Elderly T2DM men with high FMR had unfavorable cognitive function. FMR is independently associated with an increased risk of CI in male T2DM patients regardless of BMI.

Polarization-sensitive photodetectors have attracted considerable attention owing to their potential application prospects in navigation, optical switching, and communication. However, it remains challenging to develop a facile and effective strategy to simultaneously meet the demands of low power consumption, high performance, and excellent polarization sensitivity. Herein, a series of low-symmetry two-dimensional (2D) ReSe2 Schottky photodetectors with geometry-asymmetric contacts are constructed. These devices exhibit excellent photoelectrical performance and impressive polarization sensitivity in the self-powered mode owing to the difference in the Schottky barrier height induced by the asymmetric contact areas, interfacial states, and thickness difference. Particularly, an outstanding responsivity of 379 mA/W, a decent specific detectivity of 6.8 × 1011 Jones, and a high light on/off ratio (Ilight/Idark) of over 105 under 635 nm light illumination are achieved. Scanning photocurrent mapping (SPCM) measurements further confirm that the ReSe2/drain overlapped region (corresponding to the smaller contact area side) with a higher Schottky barrier height plays a dominant role in the generation of photocurrent. Furthermore, the proposed device displays impressive polarization ratios (PRs) of 3.1 and 3.6 at zero bias under 635 and 808 nm irradiation, respectively. The high-resolution single-pixel imaging capability is also demonstrated. This work reveals the great potential of the ReSe2 Schottky photodetector with geometry-asymmetric contacts for high-performance, self-powered, and polarization-sensitive photodetection.

Background: Gallbladder cancer (GBC) is different from other biliary tract cancers in terms of molecular phenotype and microenvironment. Specific treatments for GBC need to be urgently explored. This study preliminarily investigated the clinical value of hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) combined with bevacizumab plus a programmed death receptor-1 (PD-1) inhibitor for treatment of GBC with hepatic oligometastasis. Methods: We retrospectively collected data on GBC patients with hepatic oligometastasis, who received this combination therapy. The clinical data, conversion rate, treatment response, adverse events (AEs), and short-term survival were summarized. The responses of primary gallbladder lesions and hepatic metastasis, and their effect on prognosis, were investigated. Results: A total of 27 patients were included in the analysis. No grade 4 AEs were observed. The overall objective response rate (ORR) was 55.6% and the disease control rate (DCR) was 85.2%. Median overall survival (OS) time was 15.0 months and the 1-year survival rate was 64.0%. Median progression-free survival (PFS) time was 7.0 months and the 1-year PFS rate was 16.2%. Six patients (22.2%) were successfully converted to resection. Compared with primary gallbladder lesions, it appeared more difficult for patients with hepatic metastasis to achieve remission (ORR: 40.7% vs. 77.8%; P=0.012), but its response appeared to be closely related to the prognosis [median OS: 16.0 months in the complete response (CR) or partial response (PR) group vs. 11.0 months in the stable disease (SD) or progressive disease (PD) group, P=0.070; median PFS: 12.0 months in the CR or PR group vs. 6.5 months in the SD or PD group, P<0.001]. Preoperative CA19-9 of >1,900 U/mL and >5 cm metastatic lesions were associated with an unsatisfactory response, whereas a significant decrease of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) uptake may be a marker of tumor remission. Conclusions: The combination of HAIC, a PD-1 inhibitor, and bevacizumab shows potential for advanced GBC with hepatic oligometastasis. The therapeutic response of hepatic metastasis had a greater influence on prognosis than that of primary gallbladder lesions.

Two-dimensional van der Waals (2D vdW) heterostructure photodetectors have garnered significant attention for their potential applications in next-generation optoelectronic systems. However, current 2D vdW photodetectors inevitably encounter compromises between responsivity, detectivity, and response time due to the absence of multilevel regulation for free and photoexcited carriers, thereby restricting their widespread applications. To address this challenge, we propose an efficient 2D WS2/CuInP2S6 vdW heterostructure photodetector by combining band engineering and ferroelectric modulation. In this device, the asymmetric conduction and valence band offsets effectively block the majority carriers (free electrons), while photoexcited holes are efficiently tunneled and rapidly collected by the bottom electrode. Additionally, the ferroelectric CuInP2S6 layer generates polarization states that reconfigure the built-in electric field, reducing dark current and facilitating the separation of photocarriers. Moreover, photoelectrons are trapped during long-distance lateral transport, resulting in a high photoconductivity gain. Consequently, the device achieves an impressive responsivity of 88 A W-1, an outstanding specific detectivity of 3.4 × 1013 Jones, and a fast response time of 37.6/371.3 µs. Moreover, the capability of high-resolution imaging under various wavelengths and fast optical communication has been successfully demonstrated using this device, highlighting its promising application prospects in future optoelectronic systems.

Polarization-sensitive photodetectors based on two-dimensional anisotropic materials still encounter the issues of narrow spectral coverage and low polarization sensitivity. To address these obstacles, anisotropic As0.6P0.4 with a narrow band gap has been integrated with WSe2 to construct a type-II heterostructure, realizing a high-performance polarization-sensitive photodetector with broad spectral range from 405 to 2200 nm. By operating in photovoltaic mode at zero bias, the device shows a very low dark current of ∼0.02 picoampere, high responsivity of 492 m A/W, and high photoswitching ratio of 6 × 104, yielding a high specific detectivity of 1.4 × 1012 Jones. The strong in-plane anisotropy of As0.6P0.4 endows the device with a capability of polarization-sensitive detection with a high polarization ratio of 6.85 under a bias voltage. As an image sensor and signal receiver, the device shows great potential in imaging and optical communication applications. This work develops an anisotropic vdW heterojunction to realize polarization-sensitive photodetectors with wide spectral coverage, fast response, and high sensitivity, providing a new candidate for potential applications of polarization-resolved electronics and photonics.

BACKGROUND: The results of current studies on metabolic-dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD)-related diseases, cognition and dementia are inconsistent. This study aimed to elucidate the effects of MASLD-related diseases on cognition and dementia. METHODS: By using single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with different traits of NAFLD (chronically elevated serum alanine aminotransferase levels [cALT], imaging-accessed and biopsy-proven NAFLD), metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis, and liver fibrosis and cirrhosis, we employed three methods of mendelian randomization (MR) analysis (inverse-variance weighted [IVW], weighted median, and MR-Egger) to determine the causal relationships between MASLD-related diseases and cognition and dementia. We used Cochran's Q test to examine the heterogeneity, and MR-PRESSO was used to identify outliers (NbDistribution = 10000). The horizontal pleiotropy was evaluated using the MR-Egger intercept test. A leave-one-out analysis was used to assess the impact of individual SNP on the overall MR results. We also repeated the MR analysis after excluding SNPs associated with confounding factors. RESULTS: The results of MR analysis suggested positive causal associations between MASLD confirmed by liver biopsy (p of IVW = 0.020, OR = 1.660, 95%CI = 1.082-2.546) and liver fibrosis and cirrhosis (p of IVW = 0.009, OR = 1.849, 95%CI = 1.169-2.922) with vascular dementia (VD). However, there was no evidence of a causal link between MASLD-related diseases and cognitive performance and other types of dementia (any dementia, Alzheimer's disease, dementia with lewy bodies, and frontotemporal dementia). Sensitivity tests supported the robustness of the results. CONCLUSIONS: This two-sample MR analysis suggests that genetically predicted MASLD and liver fibrosis and cirrhosis may increase the VD risk. Nonetheless, the causal effects of NAFLD-related diseases on VD need more in-depth research.

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to investigate risk factors for cognitive impairment (CI) and explore the relationship between obesity and cognition in hospitalised middle-aged patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM). METHODS: Subjects were divided into normal cognitive function (NCF) (n=320) and CI (n=204) groups based on the results of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE). The risk factors for CI were determined by logistic regression analysis and generalised linear modelling. The associations between obesity parameters (body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC)) and cognitive ability were studied with the use of linear regression analysis, piecewise regression modelling and interaction analysis. The receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was used to examine the diagnostic value of influencing factors for cc RESULTS: The prevalence of CI was 38.9% in hospitalised middle-aged T2DM patients (median age, 58 years). Age, WC, hypoglycaemic episode within past 3 months and cerebrovascular disease (CVD) were identified as independent risk factors for CI, while the independent protective factors were education, diabetic dietary pattern, overweight and obesity. BMI was a protective factor for the MoCA score within a certain range, whereas WC was a risk factor for the MMSE and MoCA scores. The area under the curve for the combination of BMI and WC was 0.754 (p<0.001). CONCLUSION: Age, education, diabetic dietary pattern, WC, overweight, obesity, hypoglycaemic episode in 3 months and CVD may be potential influencing factors for the occurrence of CI in hospitalised middle-aged population with T2DM. The combination of BMI and WC may represent a good predictor for early screening of CI in this population. Nevertheless, more relevant prospective studies are still needed.

Polarimetric photodetector can acquire higher resolution and more surface information of imaging targets in complex environments due to the identification of light polarization. To date, the existing technologies yet sustain the poor polarization sensitivity (<10), far from market application requirement. Here, the photovoltaic detectors with polarization- and gate-tunable optoelectronic reverse phenomenon are developed based on semimetal 1T'-MoTe2 and ambipolar WSe2 . The device exhibits gate-tunable reverse in rectifying and photovoltaic characters due to the directional inversion of energy band, yielding a wide range of current rectification ratio from 10-2 to 103 and a clear object imaging with 100 × 100 pixels. Acting as a polarimetric photodetector, the polarization ratio (PR) value can reach a steady state value of ≈30, which is compelling among the state-of-the-art 2D-based polarized detectors. The sign reversal of polarization-sensitive photocurrent by varying the light polarization angles is also observed, that can enable the PR value with a potential to cover possible numbers (1→+∞/-∞→-1). This work develops a photovoltaic detector with polarization- and gate-tunable optoelectronic reverse phenomenon, making a significant progress in polarimetric imaging and multifunction integration applications.

Sepsis-associated lung injury often coexists with intestinal dysfunction. Butyrate, an essential gut microbiota metabolite, participates in gut-lung crosstalk and has immunoregulatory effects. This study aims to investigate the effect and mechanism of sodium butyrate (NaB) on lung injury. Sepsis-associated lung injury was established in mice by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP). Mice in treatment groups received NaB gavage after surgery. The survival rate, the oxygenation index and the lung wet-to-dry weight (W/D) ratio were calculated respectively. Pulmonary and intestinal histologic changes were observed. The total protein concentration in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) was measured, and inflammatory factors in serum and BALF were examined. Diamine oxidase (DAO), lipopolysaccharide (LPS), and surfactant-associated protein D (SP-D) levels in serum and amphiregulin in lung tissue were assessed. Intercellular junction protein expression in the lung and intestinal tissues were examined. Changes in immune cells were analyzed. NaB treatment improved the survival rate, the oxygenation index and the histologic changes. NaB decreased the W/D ratio, total protein concentration, and the levels of proinflammatory cytokines, as well as SP-D, DAO and LPS, while increased the levels of anti-inflammatory cytokines and amphiregulin. The intercellular junction protein expression were improved by NaB. Furthermore, the CD4+/CD8+ T-cell ratio and the proportion of CD4+Foxp3+ regulatory T cells (Tregs) were increased by NaB. Our data suggested that NaB gavage effectively improved the survival rate and mitigated lung injury in CLP mice. The possible mechanism was that NaB augmented CD4+Foxp3+ Tregs and enhanced the barrier function of the gut and the lung.

Due to the strong Coulomb interaction, in most polymer photocatalysts, electron-hole pairs exist in the form of excitons rather than free charge carriers. The giant excitonic effect is a key obstacle to generating free charge carriers. Therefore, effectively regulating the exciton effect is the first step to achieving optimized carrier separation. Here, we used C-ring/g-C3N4 as the prototypical model system to design a photocatalyst with a Na-coordination-induced trap state. We demonstrate that the excitons can be effectively dissociated into charge carriers by combining with the trap state formed by Na doping sites. Encouragingly, signals from the dissociation of excitons into carriers were observed by ultrafast transient spectroscopy. Benefiting from the enhanced exciton dissociation, Na-C/CN displayed a H2O2 production rate of 17.4 mmol·L-1·h-1 with an apparent quantum efficiency up to 26.9% at 380 nm, which is much higher than many other g-C3N4-based photocatalysts. This work explains the effect of cation doping on the exciton-carrier behavior in polymers. Also, it provides a new way to regulate the exciton effect.

Solar-driven interfacial evaporation technology has attracted significant attention for water purification. However, design and fabrication of solar-driven evaporator with cost-effective, excellent capability and large-scale production remains challenging. In this study, inspired by plant transpiration, a tri-layered hierarchical nanofibrous photothermal membrane (HNPM) with a unidirectional water transport effect was designed and prepared via electrospinning for efficient solar-driven interfacial evaporation. The synergistic effect of the hierarchical hydrophilic-hydrophobic structure and the self-pumping effect endowed the HNPM with unidirectional water transport properties. The HNPM could unidirectionally drive water from the hydrophobic layer to the hydrophilic layer within 2.5 s and prevent reverse water penetration. With this unique property, the HNPM was coupled with a water supply component and thermal insulator to assemble a self-floating evaporator for water desalination. Under 1 sun illumination, the water evaporation rates of the designed evaporator with HNPM in pure water and dyed wastewater reached 1.44 and 1.78 kg·m-2·h-1, respectively. The evaporator could achieve evaporation of 11.04 kg·m-2 in 10 h under outdoor solar conditions. Moreover, the tri-layered HNPM exhibited outstanding flexibility and recyclability. Our bionic hydrophobic-to-hydrophilic structure endowed the solar-driven evaporator with capillary wicking and transpiration effects, which provides a rational design and optimization for efficient solar-driven applications.

Solid-state sodium (Na) batteries (SSNBs) hold great promise but suffer from several major issues, such as high interfacial resistance at the solid electrolyte/electrode interface and Na metal dendrite growth. To address these issues, a piezoelectric interlayer design for an Na3Zr2Si2PO12 (NZSP) solid electrolyte is proposed herein. Two typical piezoelectric films, AlN and ZnO, coated onto NZSP function as interlayers designed to generate a local stress-induced field for alleviating interfacial charge aggregation coupling stress concentration and promoting uniform Na plating. The results reveal that the interlayer (ZnO) with matched modulus, high Na-adhesion, and sufficient piezoelectricity can provide a favorable interphase. Low interfacial resistances of 91 and 239 Ω cm2 are achieved for the ZnO layer at 30 and 0 °C, respectively, which are notably lower than those for bare NZSP. Moreover, steady Na plating/stripping cycles are rendered over 850 and 4900 h at 0 and 30 °C, respectively. The superior anodic performance is further manifested in an Na2MnFe(CN)6-based full cell which delivers discharge capacities of 125 mA h g-1 over 1600 cycles at 30 °C and 90 mA h g-1 over 500 cycles at 0 °C. A new interlayer-design insight is clearly demonstrated for SSNBs breaking low-temperature limits.

Purpose: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) ranks as the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths, posing a significant threat to people in diverse regions. T-cell exhaustion (Tex) can hinder the efficacy of immunotherapy in patients with HCC, and the transcription factors that regulate Tex in HCC have not yet been fully elucidated. Patients and Methods: We used the single sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA) method to define the transcription factor pathway that regulates Tex and employed LASSO regression analysis to establish Tex related genes (TEXRS). To predict differences in immunotherapy efficacy between the two groups, we used the immunophenotype score and submap algorithm. RT-qPCR was used to detect the expression levels of the model genes in 21 pairs of HCC tissues. Finally, we assessed the cell communication strength and identified ligand receptors using the "CellChat" R package. Results: Nine Tex transcription factors were identified as regulators of the HCC immune microenvironment, with Tex scores affecting patient survival. Patients with a high Tex Risk Score (TEXRS) had significantly worse overall survival compared to patients with low TEXRS. After adjusting for confounding factors, TEXRS remained an independent prognostic factor. Importantly, TEXRS performed well in multiple independent external validation cohorts. Various algorithms have shown that patients in the low-TEXRS group might benefit more from immunotherapy. Finally, RT-qPCR analysis of 21 HCC samples showed that C7, CD5L, and SDS were significantly downregulated in HCC tissues, consistent with the bioinformatics analysis results. Conclusion: TEXRS proved to be a valuable predictor of immunotherapy and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization efficacy in patients with HCC. This holds promise for enhancing the prognosis and treatment outcomes of patients with HCC.
