Background: The significant influence of family emotional expressiveness (FEE) on adolescents' face-to-face social interactions is well-established. However, there has been limited investigation into potential links between FEE and adolescents' online social behaviors, especially cyberbullying bystander behaviors, which are pivotal in cyberbullying incidents. This study aimed to assess the relative importance of different aspects of FEE (positive FEE vs. negative FEE vs. the Positive-to-Negative ratio) in predicting adolescents' cyberbullying bystander behaviors, and the mediating roles of affective and cognitive empathy in these relationships. Methods: A sample of 1,952 adolescents (Mage = 14.18, SD = 1.33) completed questionnaires, including the Family Emotional Expressiveness Questionnaire, Basic Empathy Scale, and Cyberbullying Bystander Behavior Scale. SPSS 26.0 and Mplus 8.3 were used for analysis. Results: (1) Positive FEE exhibited a positive association with protective behavior and a negative association with indifferent behavior. Conversely, negative FEE showed positive associations with reinforcing and indifferent behaviors. However, the Positive-to-Negative ratio did not exhibit significant associations with any of the three bystander behaviors. (2) Negative FEE emerged as relatively more significant than both positive FEE and the Positive-to-Negative ratio in predicting reinforcing and indifferent behaviors. (3) Affective empathy mediated the relationship between positive FEE and reinforcing behavior, while cognitive empathy mediated the relationship between positive FEE and protective and indifferent behaviors. Moreover, cognitive empathy exerted a more influential role than affective empathy in this mediation process. Conclusion: Various aspects of FEE demonstrated distinct relationships with three cyberbullying bystander behaviors, with affective and cognitive empathy playing an important mediating role in the association. This finding holds substantial implications for the development of cyberbullying prevention strategies. Such strategies could target the reduction of negative emotional expression within adolescent families and the cultivation of both cognitive and affective empathy.

This study aimed to examine the reciprocal relation between body mass index and internalizing behavior from age 2 to 15, and also the predictive role of executive function. This study included a subset sample of 640 children (47% were male) from the National Institute of Child Health and Development Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development. A refined random-intercept cross-lagged model was employed to analyze: (1) the reciprocal relation between children's body mass index and internalizing behavior assessed in eight waves from age 2 to 15; (2) the predictive role of executive functioning in both children's body mass index and internalizing behavior. Trait-level body mass index-to-internalizing behavior association was not found; a significant state-level prediction from body mass index in 5th grade to internalizing behavior in 6th grade was found. Executive function was significantly associated with trait-level body mass index, trait-level internalizing behaviors, and state-level internalizing behaviors. The findings suggest that deficits in children's executive functioning may be a shared risk associated with both high body mass index and internalizing behaviors. From an intervention perspective, this study highlighted the importance of targeting executive function to intervene in children's obesity or internalizing behaviors.

Triclocarban (TCC) is commonly used in household, personal care and industrial products and has been frequently detected in different aquatic ecosystems. Mulberrin (Mul) is a key component of the traditional Chinese medicine Romulus Mori with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The present study aimed to investigate the hepatotoxic effects of TCC in aquatic organisms and explore the protective roles of Mul. Herein, we found that exposure to TCC at environmentally realistic concentrations (5 µg/L) could impair liver function, along with impaired antioxidant defense and infiltration of inflammatory cells. Additionally, we found that TCC increased the ratio of TUNEL staining positive cells, accompanied by upregulation of pro-apoptotic protein (Bax, caspase3 and caspase9), and downregulation of anti-apoptotic proteins (Bcl2). In contrast, Mul supplementation reversed the hepatic pathological damage, ROS elevation, and apoptosis induced by TCC, likely due to hyperactivation of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) signaling. Additionally, Mul supplementation suppressed the mRNA levels of proinflammatory factors (TNF-α, IL-1ß, IFN-γ, IL-6 and IL-8) and enhanced the mRNA levels of anti-inflammatory factors (TGFß1, TGFß2, IL4, IL10 and IL11) in the liver of carp. We also discovered that Mul supplementation suppressed TCC-induced nuclear nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) elevation. In conclusion, Mul enhances Nrf2 signaling cascades and counteracts the NF-κB inflammatory program to rescue hepatotoxicity induced by TCC, providing new insights into the hepatotoxic effects of TCC and potential protection strategies for heart injury induced by TCC.

Aquatic ecosystems are being more contaminated with polyhalogenated carbazoles (PHCZs), which raising concerns about their impact on aquatic organisms. Lycopene (LYC) exhibits several beneficial properties for fish via enhance antioxidant defenses and improve immunity. In this study, we attempted to investigate the hepatotoxic effects of typical PHCZs 3, 6-dichlorocarbazole (3,6-DCCZ) and the protective mechanisms of LYC. In this study, we found that yellow catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco) exposure to 3,6-DCCZ (1.2 mg/L) resulted in hepatic inflammatory infiltration and disordered hepatocyte arrangement. Besides, we observed that 3,6-DCCZ exposure resulted in hepatic reactive oxygen species (ROS) overproduction and excessive autophagosome accumulation, accompanied with inhibition of phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (AKT) pathway. Subsequently, we confirmed that 3,6-DCCZ exposure triggered hepatic uncontrolled inflammatory response via activation of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) pathway, along with decreased plasma complement C3 (C3) and complement C4 (C4) levels. Meanwhile, yellow catfish exposed to 3,6-DCCZ exhibit an increased hepatic apoptosis phenomenon, as evidenced by the elevated number of positive TUNEL cells and upregulated expression of caspase3 and cytochrome C (CytC). In contrast, LYC treatment could alleviate the 3,6-DCCZ-induced pathological changes, hepatic ROS accumulation, autophagy, inflammatory response and apoptosis. To sum up, this study provided the demonstration that LYC exerts hepatoprotective effects to alleviate 3,6-DCCZ-induced liver damage by inihibiting ROS/PI3K-AKT/NF-κB signaling in yellow catfish.

Synthetic phenolic antioxidants (SPAs) are an environmental concern due to their persistence nature and bioaccumulation. However, the hepatoxicity and mechanisms of SPAs in aquatic organisms remain poorly understood. In this study, grass carp were exposed to two representative SPAs (BHA and BHT) at environmentally relevant levels (0.1 µM) for 30 days. We observed that BHA and BHT exposure significantly increased the levels of serum aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) in grass carp, accompanied by mild inflammatory cell infiltration and irregularity in the shape of hepatocytes. Dihydro ethylenediamine staining showed that BHA and BHT exposure resulted in elevated levels of superoxide levels, accompanied by increased antioxidant enzyme activities (T-AOC, SOD, CAT, GSH-PX) and MDA levels, which is suggestive of oxidative stress responses in the liver of grass carp. Besides, BHA and BHT could dock into the pocket of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinases (PI3K) and thereby inhibiting PI3K/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR)/protein kinase B (AKT) signaling cascades. Meanwhile, our results clarified that BHA and BHT could promote autophagosome production and increase the expression of key autophagy proteins, likely due to inhibition of PI3K/mTOR/AKT signaling pathway. Moreover, BHA and BHT could induce apoptotic process by upregulating the expression of Bax, Caspase3 and Caspase8 and downregulating Bcl2 expression. Notably, BHT exhibited more hepatoxicity on the indicators of the apoptosis and oxidative stress than BHA. In summary, our findings demonstrated that BHA and BHT exposure could induce liver damage induced via regulating ROS/PI3K-mediated autophagic hyperactivation, which is a crucial step in triggering hepatocyte death. This study provides novel insight into the potential mechanisms underlying liver damage caused by BHA and BHT in aquatic organisms, and offers a new theoretical basis for ecological risk assessment of SPAs.

This article examines the positioning effect of integrated navigation after adding an LEO constellation signal source and a 5G ranging signal source in the context of China's new infrastructure construction. The tightly coupled Kalman federal filters are used as the algorithm framework. Each signal source required for integrated navigation is simulated in this article. At the same time, by limiting the range of the azimuth angle and visible height angle, different experimental scenes are simulated to verify the contribution of the new signal source to the traditional satellite navigation, and the positioning results are analyzed. Finally, the article compares the distribution of different federal filtering information factors and reveals the method of assigning information factors when combining navigation with sensors with different precision. The experimental results show that the addition of LEO constellation and 5G ranging signals improves the positioning accuracy of the original INS/GNSS by an order of magnitude and ensures a high degree of positioning continuity. Moreover, the experiment shows that the federated filtering algorithm can adapt to the combined navigation mode in different scenarios by combining different precision sensors for navigation positioning.

Using a large sample from the National Institute of Child Health and Development Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development (N = 1,178, 51% were male and 80% were White), the random intercept cross-lagged panel model was employed to unpack the trait and state aspects in the relations between mothers' depressive symptoms and children's behavioral problems from age 2 to 15. The transactional predictions among mothers' depressive symptoms and children's behavioral problems were largely attributed to their correlations at the underlying trait level (rs = .458-.528). At the state level, the mutual influences among mothers' depressive symptoms and children's behavior problems occurred more often during periods of transition. With that said, the child effects hypothesis was not supported.

We theoretically study the thermoelectric effect in a hybrid device composed by a topological semiconducting nanowire hosting Majorana bound states (MBSs) and a quantum dot (QD) connected to the left and right non-magnetic electrodes held at different temperatures. The electron-electron Coulomb interactions in the QD are taken into account by the non-equilibrium Green's function technique. We find that the sign change of the thermopower, which is useful for detecting the MBSs, will occur by changing the QD-MBS hybridization strength, the direct overlap between the MBSs at the opposite ends of the nanowire, and the system temperature. Large value of 100% spin-polarized or pure spin thermopower emerges even in the absence of Zeeman splitting in the QD or magnetic electrodes because the MBSs are coupled to electrons of only one certain spin direction in the QD due to the chiral nature of the Majorana fermions. Moreover, the magnitude of the thermopower will be obviously enhanced by the existence of MBSs.
