RESUMO

0D hybrid metal halides (0D HMHs) with fully isolated inorganic units provide an ideal platform for studying the correlations between chiroptical activities and crystal structures at atomic levels. Here, through the incorporation of different solvent molecules, a series of 0D chiral manganese bromides (RR/SS-C20H28N2)3MnBr8·2X (X = C2H5OH, CH3OH, or H2O) are synthesized to elucidate their chiroptical properties. They show negligible circular dichroism signals of Mn absorptions due to C2v-symmetric [MnBr4]2- tetrahedra. However, they display distinct circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) signals with continuously increased luminescence asymmetry factors (glum) from 10-4 (X = C2H5OH) to 10-3 (X = H2O). The increased glum value is structurally revealed to originate from the enhancement of [MnBr4]2- tetrahedral bond-angle distortions, due to the presence of different solvent molecules. Furthermore, (RR/SS-C20H28N2)MnBr4·H2O enantiomers with larger bond-angle distortions of [MnBr4]2- tetrahedra are synthesized based on hydrobromic acid-induced structural transformation of (RR/SS-C20H28N2)3MnBr8·2H2O enantiomers. Therefore, such (RR/SS-C20H28N2)MnBr4·H2O enantiomers exhibit enhanced CPL signals with |glum| up to 1.23 × 10-2. This work provides unique insight into enhancing chiroptical activities in 0D HMH systems.

RESUMO

Ultraviolet circularly polarized luminescence (UV-CPL) with high photon energy shows great potential in polarized light sources and stereoselective photopolymerization. However, developing luminescent materials with high UV-CPL performance remains challenging. Here, we report a pair of rare earth Ce3+-based zero-dimensional (0D) chiral hybrid metal halides (HMHs), R/S-(C14H24N2)2CeBr7, which exhibits characteristic UV emissions derived from the Ce 5d-4f transition. The compounds show simultaneously high photoluminescent quantum yields of (32-39)% and large luminescent dissymmetry factor (|glum|) values of (1.3-1.5)×10-2. Thus, the figures of merits of R/S-(C14H24N2)2CeBr7 are calculated to be (4.5-5.8)×10-3, which are superior to the reported UV-CPL emissive materials. Additionally, nearly 91 % of their PL intensities at 300 K can be well preserved at 380 K (LED operating temperature) without phase transition or decomposition, demonstrating the excellent structural and optical thermal stabilities of R/S-(C14H24N2)2CeBr7. Based on these enantiomers, the fabricated UV-emitting CP-LEDs exhibit high polarization degrees of ±1.0 %. Notably, the UV-CPL generated from the devices can significantly trigger the enantioselective photopolymerization of diacetylene with remarkable stereoselectivity, and consequently yield polymerized products with the anisotropy factors of circular dichroism (gCD) up to ±3.9×10-2, outperforming other UV-CPL materials and demonstrating their great potential as UV-polarized light sources.

RESUMO

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is one of the most prevalent consequences of diabetes, with a high incidence and disability rate. The DPN's pathogenesis is extremely complex and yet to be fully understood. Persistent high glucose metabolism, nerve growth factor deficiency, microvascular disease, oxidative stress, peripheral nerve cell apoptosis, immune factors, and other factors have been implicated in the pathogenesis of DPN. Astragalus mongholicus is a commonly used plant used to treat DPN in clinical settings. Its rich chemical components mainly include Astragalus polysaccharide, Astragalus saponins, Astragalus flavones, etc., which play a vital role in the treatment of DPN. This review aimed to summarize the pathogenesis of DPN and the studies on the mechanism of the effective components of Astragalus mongholicus in treating DPN. This is of great significance for the effective use of Chinese herbal medicine and the promotion of its status and influence on the world.

RESUMO

Hybrid metal halides (HMHs) with efficient circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) have application prospects in many fields, due to their abundant host-guest structures and high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY). However, CPLs in HMHs are predominantly excited by light or electricity, limiting their use in multivariate environments. It is necessary to explore a novel excitation method to extend the application of chiral HMHs as smart stimuli-responsive optical materials. In this work, an enantiomeric pair of 0D hybrid manganese bromides, [H2(2R,4R)-(+)/(2S,4S)-(-)-2,4-bis(diphenylphosphino)pentane]MnBr4 [(R/S)-1] is presented, which exhibits efficient CPL emissions with near-unity PLQYs and high dissymmetry factors of ± 2.0 × 10-3. Notably, (R/S)-1 compounds exhibit unprecedented and bright circularly polarized mechanoluminescence (CPML) emissions under mechanical stimulation. Moreover, (R/S)-1 possess high mechanical force sensitivities with mechanoluminescence (ML) emissions detectable under 0.1 N force stimulation. Furthermore, this ML emission exhibits an extraordinary antithermal quenching effect in the temperature range of 300-380 K, which is revealed to originate from a thermal activation energy compensation mechanism from trap levels to Mn(II) 4T1 level. Based on their intriguing optical properties, these compounds as chiral force-responsive materials are demonstrated in multilevel confidential information encryption.

RESUMO

Structural dimensionality and electronic dimensionality play a crucial role in determining the type of excitonic emission in hybrid metal halides (HMHs). It is important but challenging to achieve free exciton (FE) emission in zero-dimensional (0D) HMHs based on the control over the electronic dimensionality. In this work, a quasi-0D HMH (C7 H15 N2 Br)2 PbBr4 with localized electronic dimensionality is prepared as a prototype model. With increasing pressure onto (C7 H15 N2 Br)2 PbBr4 , the broad and weak self-trapped exciton (STE) emission at ambient conditions is considerably enhanced before 3.6 GPa, which originates from more distorted [PbBr4 ]2- seesaw units upon compression. Notably, a narrow FE emission in (C7 H15 N2 Br)2 PbBr4 appears at 3.6 GPa, and then this FE emission is gradually strengthened up to 8.4 GPa. High pressure structural characterizations reveal that anisotropic contraction of (C7 H15 N2 Br)2 PbBr4 results in a noticeable reduction in the distance between adjacent [PbBr4 ]2- seesaw units, as well as an obvious enhancement of crystal stiffness. Consequently, the electronic connectivity in (C7 H15 N2 Br)2 PbBr4 is sufficiently promoted above 3.6 GPa, which is also supported with theoretical calculations. The elevation of electronic connectivity and enhanced stiffness together lead to pressure-induced FE emission and subsequent emission enhancement in quasi-0D (C7 H15 N2 Br)2 PbBr4 .

RESUMO

Chiral zero-dimensional hybrid metal halides (0D HMHs) could combine excellent optical properties and chirality, making them promising for circularly polarized luminescence (CPL). However, chiral 0D HMHs with efficient CPL have been rarely reported. Here, we propose an efficient strategy to achieve simultaneously high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) and large dissymmetry factor (glum ), by integrating achiral and chiral ligands into 0D HMHs. Specifically, three pairs of chiral 0D hybrid indium-antimony chlorides are synthesized by combing achiral guanidine with three types of chiral methylbenzylammonium-based derivatives as the organic cations. These chiral 0D HMHs exhibit near-unity PLQY and large glum values up to around ±1×10-2 . The achiral guanidine ligand is not only essential to crystallize these hybrid indium-antimony chlorides to achieve near-unity PLQYs, but also greatly enhances the chirality induction from organic ligands to inorganic units in these 0D HMHs. Furthermore, the choice of different chiral ligands can modify the strength of hydrogen bonding interactions in these 0D HMHs, to maximize their glum values. Overall, this study provides a robust way to realize efficient CPL in chiral HMHs, expanding their applications in chiroptical fields.

RESUMO

Background: The outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020 presented a major challenge to the healthcare system in China. This study aimed to quantitatively evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on health services utilization in China in 2020. Methods: Health service-related data for this study were extracted from the China Health Statistical Yearbook. The Auto-Regressive Integrated Moving Average model (ARIMA) was used to forecast the data for the year 2020 based on trends observed between 2010 and 2019. The differences between the actual 2020 values reported in the statistical yearbook and the forecast values from the ARIMA model were used to assess the impact of COVID-19 on health services utilization. Results: In 2020, the number of admissions and outpatient visits in China declined by 17.74 and 14.37%, respectively, compared to the ARIMA model's forecast values. Notably, public hospitals experienced the largest decrease in outpatient visits and admissions, of 18.55 and 19.64%, respectively. Among all departments, the pediatrics department had the greatest decrease in outpatient visits (35.15%). Regarding geographical distribution, Beijing and Heilongjiang were the regions most affected by the decline in outpatient visits (29.96%) and admissions (43.20%) respectively. Conclusion: The study's findings suggest that during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, one in seven outpatient services and one in six admissions were affected in China. Therefore, there is an urgent need to establish a green channel for seeking medical treatment without spatial and institutional barriers during epidemic prevention and control periods.

RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the relationship between angiotensin II (Ang II), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and arteriosclerosis obliterans (ASO). Methods: 60 ASO patients diagnosed and treated from October 2019 to December 2021 were selected for the observation group while 30 healthy physical examiners were for the control group. The general information (gender, age, history of smoking, diabetes, and hypertension) and arterial blood pressure (systolic and diastolic blood pressure) of the two groups were collected, and parameters like disease site and duration, Fontaine stage, and ankle-brachial index (ABI) of ASO patients have been evaluated. Ang II, VEGF, uric acid (UA), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), triglyceride (TG), and total cholesterol (TC) were also detected for the two groups. The variations in UA, LDL, HDL, TG, and TC among two groups along with levels of Ang II and VEGF in ASO patients in accordance to conditions like the general situation, disease duration, disease site, Fontaine stage, and ABI risk level have been studied to establish a correlation between Ang II and VEGF and ASO. Results: (1) The proportion of males with a history of smoking, diabetes, and hypertension was higher (P < 0.05) among ASO patients in comparison to the control group. The diastolic blood pressure, LDL, TC, Ang II, and VEGF levels were found to be higher (P < 0.05) whereas HDL was low (P < 0.01). (2) The level of Ang II in male patients with ASO was significantly higher than that in female ASO patients (P < 0.05). In ASO patients, the levels of Ang II and VEGF increased not only with age (P < 0.01) but also with progression in Fontaine stages II, III, and IV (P < 0.01). (3) Logistic regression analysis revealed Ang II and VEGF as risk factors for ASO. (4) An AUC (area under the ROC (receiver operator characteristic) curve) for Ang II and VEGF for the diagnosis of ASO was 0.764 (good) and 0.854 (very good), respectively, while their combined AUC in diagnosing ASO was 0.901 (excellent). The AUC of Ang II and VEGF together in diagnosing ASO was greater than that of Ang II and VEGF alone along with higher specificity as well (all P < 0.05). Conclusion: Ang II and VEGF were correlated with the occurrence and development of ASO. The AUC analysis demonstrates that Ang II and VEGF were highly discriminative of ASO.

RESUMO

This study aimed to investigate the effect of hyaluronic acid (HA) gel regulating the expression of Runx2 and osteocalcin (OCN) on osteoblast mineralization nodules and fracture callus formation. To achieve this aim, MC3T3-E1 cells were divided into two groups, the HA group and the control group, based on the intervention of HA gel. In addition, a fracture callus model was constructed to observe cell proliferation, cell mineralization, and fracture callus formation. Results showed that HA at different concentrations had no obvious outcome on the proliferation of MC3T3-E1 cells (P>0.05). The area of mineralized nodules in the HA intervention group (65.38±4.27) was higher than in the control (9.52±2.16, P<0.05). The expression levels of Runx2 and OCN in the HA intervention group were higher than control (P<0.05). The callus area in the HA group (110.05±4.16) and (143.16±8.84) was significantly higher as against control (72.51±6.32, 88.92±5.28) at 2 and 4 weeks after intervention (P<0.05). It was concluded that HA gel promotes the proliferation and differentiation of osteoblasts by regulation of Runx2 and OCN, and then promotes the formation of mineralized nodules of osteoblasts and fracture callus, thereby promoting fracture healing.

RESUMO

Zero-dimensional (0D) hybrid metal halides with perfect host-guest structures are promising candidates to construct circularly polarized luminescence (CPL)-active materials. However, it still remains challenging to obtain 0D chiral metal halides with simultaneously strong CPL and high photoluminescence quantum yield. Here, a new enantiomeric pair of 0D hybrid lead-tin bromides, (RR/SS-C6 N2 H16 )2 Pb0.968 Sn0.032 Br6 ⋅ 2H2 O (R/S-PbSnBr ⋅ H2 O), is reported. The R/S-PbSnBr ⋅ H2 O compounds not only show intriguing self-trapped exciton emissions with near-unity quantum yield, but also present intense CPL with a dissymmetry factor glum of ±3.0×10-3 . Such CPL activities originate from the asymmetric [SnBr6 ]4- luminophores in R/S-PbSnBr ⋅ H2 O, due to the induced structural chirality by the organic ligands via N-H⋅⋅⋅Br hydrogen bonds. Furthermore, CPL emissions with tunable colors from R/S-PbSnBr ⋅ H2 O and dehydrated compounds are reversibly observed, which extends their chiroptical applications.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: At present, improving the accessibility to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) health resources is an important component of China's health policy. This study evaluated the trends in the disparities and equity of TCM health resource allocation from 2010 to 2020 to inform optimal future local health planning and policy. METHOD: The data for this study were extracted from the China Health Statistical Yearbook (2011-2021) and China Urban Statistical Yearbook (2020). The equity and rationality of the allocation of TCM health resources at the national and provincial levels were evaluated using the Gini coefficient and the health resource aggregation degree, respectively. RESULT: The number of TCM-related institutions, beds, health staff, outpatients and admissions increased by 1.97, 2.61, 2.35, 1.72 and 2.41 times, respectively, between 2010 and 2020. The population-based Gini coefficients for health staff, beds and institutions were 0.12, 0.23 and 0.13, respectively, indicating acceptable equity, while the geographical area-based Gini index for health staff, beds and institutions were 0.65, 0.62 and 0.62, respectively, indicating serious inequity. The agglomeration degree as a function of geographical area was as follows: eastern region > central region > western region. Moreover, the institutional and health staff gaps between the geographical areas increased from 2012 to 2020. In addition, there was a relatively balanced agglomeration degree based on the population in these three regions and an increasingly equitable allocation of institutions and health staff. CONCLUSION: In recent years, China's TCM health resources and services have increased rapidly, but their proportions within the overall health system remain low. The equity and rationality of TCM health allocated by the population was better than that by the geographic area. Regional differences and inequalities, especially for institutions, still exist. A series of policies to promote the balanced development of TCM need to be implemented.

RESUMO

Zero-dimensional hybrid metal halides (0D HMHs) are attractive due to their intriguing self-trapped exciton (STE) emission properties. However, the effect of organic cations on the emission of 0D HMHs is relatively underexplored. Herein, we report two types of 0D hybrid tin bromides, (BMe)2SnBr6 (BMe = C8N2H18) and (MeH)2SnBr6 (MeH = C7N2H16), which share similar structural features with different hydrogen bonding (HB) interactions between [SnBr6]4- anions and organic cations. The (BMe)2SnBr6 with weak HB interactions exhibits only STE emission, while the (MeH)2SnBr6 exhibits both STE and charge transfer exciton emissions owing to the strong HB interactions, resulting in an excitation-dependent emission at cryogenic conditions. Detailed structural analyses and Hirshfeld surface calculations confirm that the enhanced HB interactions are essential to obtain the multiple emissions in (MeH)2SnBr6.

RESUMO

Background: China is presently facing the challenge of meeting enormous health demands because of its rapidly aging society. Enrolling older persons in eldercare institutions is a helpful alternative for relieving family caregivers and promoting healthy aging. However, changes in the living environment may negatively affect the mental health of the elderly. Objective: To explore the association between different living arrangements and depressive symptoms among over-65-year-old people in China and the moderating role of outdoor activities. Method: The 2018 wave of the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS) used a mixed sampling method to collect the health and demographic information of 15,874 older adults over 65 years from 23 provinces in China. After considering this study's inclusion and exclusion criteria, the final sample comprised 12,200 participants. The participants' risk of depressive symptoms was assessed using the 10-item Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CESD-10). The potential association between the two elements was tested using a regression model. Result: This study's findings suggested a significant relationship between depressive symptoms and living arrangements (P < 0.001). Participants living alone and those living in eldercare institutions had 1.26-times (95%CI: 1.10-1.44) and 1.39-times (95%CI: 1.09-1.77) higher risks of depressive symptoms, respectively, than those living with household members. Outdoor activities play a moderating role between different living arrangements and depressive symptoms. Among participants who engaged in outdoor activities, no significant difference was observed in the risk of depressive symptoms between those living in eldercare institutions and those living with household members (adjusted odds ratio = 1.15, 95%CI = 0.81-1.64, P = 0.426). Conclusion: The high risk of depressive symptoms among older Chinese people living alone or in eldercare institutions requires considerable attention. The evidence from this study suggests that older people living alone and those living in eldercare institutions should regularly engage in appropriate outdoor activities.

RESUMO

Photoluminescence (PL) thermal quenching of hybrid metal halides blocks their applications. Herein, a novel type of 0D hybrid metal halide, [Pb(C12H24O6)Cl]2[Mn2Cl6], with broad yellow emission and near-unity PL quantum yield is reported. Importantly, it preserves outstanding thermal stability up to 450 K.

RESUMO

Buyang Huanwu decoction (BYHWD), a classical prescription for ischemic stroke, has been reported to promote angiogenesis after focal ischemia. However, the mechanisms of the contribution of BYHWD on angiogenesis are still unclear. Connexin 43 (Cx43) played important roles in the functions of neurogliovascular unit. Therefore, the aim of this study was to explore the potential role of Cx43 in angiogenesis of the ischemic brain after BYHWD treatment. Middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) was used to establish the model of focal ischemia. BYHWD was administrated intragastrically twice a day after MCAO with or without Gap26 (a specific Cx43 inhibitor). Western blot, neurological deficits, immunofluorescent staining, and Evans blue dye were used to confirm the role of Cx43 in angiogenesis after BYHWD treatment. The expression levels of total Cx43 and phosphorylated Cx43 were upregulated by BYHWD and peaked at 7 days post MCAO. Inhibition of Cx43 with Gap26 significantly attenuated the protective role of BYHWD in neurological behavior. BYHWD treatment promoted angiogenesis demonstrated by increased microvascular density, upregulated vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and angiopoietin-1 (Ang-1), while inhibition of Cx43 with Gap26 attenuated these effects of BYHWD. In addition, Gap26 inhibited the beneficial effect of BYHWD on blood-brain barrier (BBB) integrity. These results suggested that Cx43 mediated the angiogenesis of BYHWD via VEGF and Ang-1 after focal ischemic stroke.

RESUMO

To evaluate the impact of the Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant (Qinshan NPP) in normal operation on the surrounding environment and population, the radioactivity levels of drinking water and the ambient environment, as well as the residents' cancer incidence, were continuously monitored for a period of 9 years (2012-2020). All of the gross α and ß radioactivity concentrations in drinking water were less than the WHO recommended values (0.5 Bq/L for gross α and 1 Bq/L for gross ß). The results of ambient environment accumulated dose monitored by thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs) indicated that the ambient environment radioactive level around the Qinshan NPP is consistently at natural background radiation levels. The age-dependent annual effective doses due to the ingestion of tap water or exposure to the outdoor ambient environment are lower than the reference dose of 0.1 mSv/year. The corresponding excess risks are at relatively low levels. Thus, the consumption of drinking water and outdoor activities are not expected to give rise to any detectable adverse effects on the health of the public around the Qinshan NPP. For all cancers combined, the age-standardized incidence rate by the Chinese 2000 standard population of the inhabitants living around Qinshan NPP is consistent with that of Zhejiang Province as a whole. Based on current radiation risk estimates, radiation exposure is not a plausible explanation for any excess cancers observed in the vicinity of the Qinshan NPP.

RESUMO

0D hybrid metal halides (0D HMHs) are considered to be promising luminescent emitters. 0D HMHs commonly exhibit self-trapped exciton (STE) emissions originating from the inorganic metal halide anion units. Exploring and utilizing the emission features of the organic cation units in 0D HMHs is highly desired to enrich their optical properties as multifunctional luminescent materials. Here, tunable emissions from organic and inorganic units are successfully achieved in triphenylsulfonium (Ph3 S+ )-based 0D HMHs. Notably, integrated afterglow and STE emissions with adjustable intensities are obtained in (Ph3 S)2 Sn1- x Tex Cl6 (x = 0-1) via the delicate combination of [SnCl6 ]2- and [TeCl6 ]2- . Moreover, such a strategy can be readily extended to develop other HMH materials with intriguing optical properties. As a demonstration, 0D (Ph3 S)2 Zn1- x Mnx Cl4 (x = 0-1) are constructed to achieve integrated afterglow and Mn2+ d-d emissions with high efficiency. Consequently, these novel 0D HMHs with colorful afterglow and STE emissions are applied in multiple anti-counterfeiting applications.

RESUMO

Background: In the era of precision therapy, early classification of breast cancer (BRCA) molecular subtypes has clinical significance for disease management and prognosis. We explored the accuracy of machine learning (ML) models for early classification of BRCA molecular subtypes through a systematic review of the literature currently available. Methods: We retrieved relevant studies published in PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane, and Web of Science until 15 April 2022. A prediction model risk of bias assessment tool (PROBAST) was applied for the assessment of risk of bias of a genomics-based ML model, and the Radiomics Quality Score (RQS) was simultaneously used to evaluate the quality of this radiomics-based ML model. A random effects model was adopted to analyze the predictive accuracy of genomics-based ML and radiomics-based ML for Luminal A, Luminal B, Basal-like or triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2). The PROSPERO of our study was prospectively registered (CRD42022333611). Results: Of the 38 studies were selected for analysis, 14 ML models were based on gene-transcriptomic, with only 4 external validations; and 43 ML models were based on radiomics, with only 14 external validations. Meta-analysis results showed that c-statistic values of the ML based on radiomics for the identification of BRCA molecular subtypes Luminal A, Luminal B, Basal-like or TNBC, and HER2 were 0.76 [95% confidence interval (CI): 0.60-0.96], 0.78 (95% CI: 0.69-0.87), 0.89 (95% CI: 0.83-0.91), and 0.83 (95% CI: 0.81-0.86), respectively. The c-statistic values of ML based on the gene-transcriptomic analysis cohort for the identification of the previously described BRCA molecular subtypes were 0.96 (95% CI: 0.93-0.99), 0.96 (95% CI: 0.93-0.99), 0.98 (95% CI: 0.95-1.00), and 0.97 (95% CI: 0.96-0.98) respectively. Additionally, the sensitivity of the ML model based on radiomics for each molecular subtype ranged from 0.79 to 0.85, while the sensitivity of the ML model based on gene-transcriptomic was between 0.92 and 0.99. Conclusions: Both radiomics and gene transcriptomics produced ideal effects on BRCA molecular subtype prediction. Compared with radiomics, gene transcriptomics yielded better prediction results, but radiomics was simpler and more convenient from a clinical point of view.

RESUMO

Ewing sarcoma (ES) is a cancer that may originate from stem mesenchymal or neural crest cells and is highly prevalent in children and adolescents. In recent years, targeted therapies against immune-related genes have shown good efficacy in a variety of cancers. However, effective targets for immunotherapy in ES are yet to be developed. In our study, we first identified the immune-associated differential hub gene NPM1 by bioinformatics methods as a differentially expressed gene, and then validated it using real time-PCR and western blotting, and found that this gene is not only closely related to the immune infiltration in ES, but also can affect the proliferation and apoptosis of ES cells, and is closely related to the survival of patients. The results of our bioinformatic analysis showed that NPM1 can be a hub gene in ES and an immunotherapeutic target to reactivate immune infiltration in patients with ES. In addition, treatment with NPM1 promoted apoptosis and inhibited the proliferation of ES cells. The NPM1 inhibitor NSC348884 can induce apoptosis of ES cells in a dose-dependent manner and is expected to be a potential therapeutic agent for ES.

RESUMO

Ewing's sarcoma (ES) is an extremely aggressive malignant bone tumor with a high incidence among children and adolescents. The immune microenvironment plays an important role in ES development. The aim of the current study was to investigate the immune microenvironment in ES patients to identify immune-related gene signatures. Single-sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA) was used to cluster the RNA sequences of 117 ES patients, and their immune cell infiltration data were downloaded and evaluated based on the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. High, medium, and low immune cell infiltration clusters were identified. Based on the comparison of clusters with high and low immune cell infiltration, normal skeletal muscle cells, and ES, we identified 198 common differentially expressed genes. GO and KEGG enrichment analyses indicated the underlying immune mechanism in ES. Cox and LASSO regression analyses were conducted to select immune-related prognostic genes. An external dataset from the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) was used to validate our results. Ten immune-related, independent prognostic genes (FMO2, GLCE, GPR64, IGFBP4, LOXHD1, PBK, SNAI2, SPP1, TAPT1-AS1, and ZIC2) were selected for analysis. These 10 immune-related genes signature were determined to exhibit independent prognostic significance for ES. The results of this study provide an approach for predicting the prognosis and survival of ES patients, and the elucidated genes may be a promising target for immunotherapy.
