RESUMO

Autoimmune glial fibrillary acidic protein astrocytopathy (GFAP-A) is a new type of autoimmune astrocytopathy first defined in 2016. Lack of clinical understanding, often misdiagnosed as optic neuromyelitis or multiple sclerosis. We report the clinical and MRI findings of an elderly patient with autoimmune glial fibrillary acidic protein astrocytopathy. With intractable vomiting as the first symptom, the brainstem showed typical vascular enhancement. GFAP-A lacks specificity in clinical and MRI scans. When enhancement reveals paraventricular "vascular-like enhancement" or central spinal cord tubular enhancement, it is important to consider the possibility of this disease.

RESUMO

Spindle cell hemangioma is a rare benign hemangioma. It is mainly found as small soft tissue nodules in the distal extremities, especially in the hands. The manifestation in bone is extremely rare. We present a case of spindle cell hemangioma of bone in the frontal bone. We also reviewed the literature to find the common imaging findings of intraosseous hamangiomas. The main manifestations of X-ray and CT were osteolytic lesions with soap bubble-like changes, and soft tissue mass formation. Magnetic resonance imaging mainly showed a lobulated mass with clear boundary, uneven hyperintense on T2WI, and obvious enhancement on contrast-enhanced scan. Surgical excision is curative. While this lesion is rare, it can be considered in the differential diagnosis if the characteristic imaging features are present.

RESUMO

Chordoid glioma is a rare intracranial tumour, which usually occurs in middle-aged female patients, mainly in the third ventricle, hypothalamus and suprasellar region. It can reportedly occur in the temporal-parietal lobe, occipital horn of the lateral ventricle and left thalamus. Here, we report a case of chordoid glioma in the thalamic region of a female child, which is different from the previously reported chordoid glioma in the left thalamus. Given its atypical location and imaging findings, it is often misdiagnosed as low-grade glioma before operation. Through the study of this case, we recognized the atypical imaging manifestations of chordoid glioma in a rare location.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To study the immunomodulatory effect of Part III of Cynomorium songaricum Rupr. on the immunosuppressive mice. METHODS: The immunity-deficiency model was induced by intraperitoneal injection of cyclophosphamide (CTX) at the dose of 100 mg/kg in mice; all the animals were divided into normal control group, immunity-deficiency model group, Part III treated group (300 mg/kg) and positive control group (TSPG, 300 mg/kg). The hemogram of peripheral blood, the index of immune organs, the phagocytosis activity of macrophage, the content of serum hemolysin were measured. RESULTS: The index of organs, the phagocytosis activity of macrophage and the content of serum hemolysin in the model group increased after administrated of Part III. CONCLUSION: Part III from Cynomorium songaricum Rupr. has protective effect on the immunosuppressive mice, which may be related to the increasing of humoral immunity and nonspecific immunity.
