RESUMO
AIM: This study aims to evaluate the long-term treatment outcome of conventional and hypofractionation radiotherapy in postmastectomy cancer breast patients. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A total of 140 postmastectomy breast cancer patients were included in this retrospective study, who were treated from 2012 to 2014 with chemotherapy and various fractionation radiotherapy schedules. Radiotherapy treatment records for study group-I received radiotherapy 4256 cGy in 16 fractions over 3½ weeks, group-II patients received 4005 cGy in 15 fractions over 3 weeks, and conventional radiotherapy group-III received 5000 cGy in 25 fractions over 5 weeks. RESULTS: The median follow-up of patients from all groups was 60 months (range 9 to 111 months). There were 39 cases with disease failure, 13 (26%) in group I (42.56 Gy), 16 (40%) in group II (40.05 Gy), and 10 (20%) in group III (50 Gy). There were 4 locoregional recurrences (LRRs), two isolated, and 11 distant failures in group I, 3 LRRs (1 isolated LRR) and 15 distant failures in group II, and only one LRR and 9 distant failures in group III. The disease-free survival (DFS) were 74%, 60%, and 80%, respectively, in groups I, II, and III (P =0.044). CONCLUSION: The long-term results of this study show that hypofractionation radiotherapy in postmastectomy cases is well tolerated and acute and late side effects are also comparable to conventional fractionation. In our study, locoregional and distant failure seems slightly higher with hypofractionation schedules than in other studies, highlighting the need for more studies with long-term follow-up in postmastectomy patients.

Background: According to the World Health Organization and American Cancer Society, cancer survivors should involve in mild-to-moderate intensity exercises and consume vegetarian diet. These lifestyle alterations show improvement in cancer recurrence, risk reduction, and quality of life (QOL). Objective: The purpose of this study was to study the effect of physical activity on health/behavioural changes among adult cancer survivors. Materials and Methods: The study is randomized controlled trial which included 100 patients (Group A - Exercise group - 50 patients and Group B - Control group - 50 patients). Assessment of cardiopulmonary fitness, endurance, and QOL was done. Results: Significant improvement in pulse rate, SpO2 and endurance, mental health, and social dimension was found in exercising group with no significant improvement in spiritual dimension. Conclusion: Remodelling the lifestyle by diet adjustment, strength training, and exercises alters the incidence and prognosis of cancer.

AIM: To examine user ability and preference in performing bag-mask ventilation (BMV) with four different configurations of infant mannequins. METHODS: Participants provided a 30-second period of BMV to a Resusci Baby mannequin (RB), NeoNatalie mannequin (NN), NN filled with air (NNA), NN filled with water (NNW) and NN filled with 50% air and 50% water mix (NNAW). Participants rated the fidelity of each configuration. RESULTS: Of the 20 participants, 65% rated NNW as having a high level of fidelity (HLF) 'to hold' (50% for NNAW, 10% for RB and 0% for NNA) (p < 0.001). Half rated NNAW as having a HLF in 'tone' (40% for NNW, 20% for RB and 5% for NNA) (p = 0.008). About 45% of participants rated NNAW as having a HLF in 'appearance' (45% for the RB, 20% for NNA and 15% for NNW) (p = 0.035). About 35% of participants rated NNAW as having a HLF in how it 'felt to touch' (30% for NNW, 15% for RB and 10% for NNA) (p = 0.008). Half of participants rated NNAW as having a HLF in terms of 'weight' (45% for NNW, 40% for RB and 0% for NNA) (p = 0.003). Participants delivered the greatest number of effective ventilations to the NNW mannequin. CONCLUSION: The NNW and NNAW configurations had the highest fidelity and had the highest percentage of effective ventilations delivered.
