RESUMO

We prepared HKUST-1 (Cu3BTC2; BTC3- = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate) using a spray synthesis method with Li doping and defect created via partial replacement of H3BTC with isophthalic acid (IP) to enhance the H2 adsorption capacity. Li-doping was performed by incorporating LiNO3 in HKUST-1 via spray synthesis and subsequent thermal treatment for decomposing NO3-, which enhances H2 uptake at 77 K and 1 bar per unit mass and per unit area from 2.37 wt% and 4.16 molecules/nm2 for undoped HKUST-1 to 2.47 wt% and 4.33 molecules/nm2, respectively. Defect creation via the replacement of the BTC3- linker with the IP2- linker slightly in HKUST-1 skeleton did not affect H2 uptake. Both Li-doping and defect creation significantly enhanced H2 uptake to 3.03 wt%, which was caused by the coordination of Li ions with free carboxylic groups of the created defects via IP replacement.

RESUMO

A series of axially chiral 1,1'-binaphthyls with trialkylsiloxy (OSiR3 ) groups were synthesized. Among them, 1 a-c possessing OSiR3 groups at the 7,7'-positions and methyl groups at the 2,2'-positions were liquids at room temperature, and the neat liquids showed circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) (R=Bu; Φfl,liquid =0.21, |glum,liquid |=1.6×10-3 ). The |glum,liquid | value is the highest of pure liquids. These compounds remained liquid over a broad range of temperatures, down to -50 °C. Time-dependent DFT calculations indicated that in the excited state, the binaphthyls adopt a transoid conformation with a small angle between the electric and magnetic transition dipole moments (θµ,m =77°), which is a key factor in their CPL activity. The best binaphthyl dihedral angle in the excited state is approximately 110°.

BACKGROUND: Aquaporin-2 (AQP2) is a key water channel protein which determines the water permeability of the collecting duct. Multiple phosphorylation sites are present at the C-terminal of AQP2 including S256 (serine at 256 residue), S261, S264 and S/T269, which are regulated by vasopressin (VP) to modulate AQP2 trafficking. As the dynamics of these phosphorylations have been studied mostly in rodents, little is known about the phosphorylation of human AQP2 which has unique T269 in the place of S269 of rodent AQP2. Because AQP2 is excreted in urinary exosomes, the phosphoprotein profile of human AQP2 can be easily examined through urinary exosomes without any intervention. METHODS: Human urinary exosomes digested with trypsin or glutamyl endopeptidase (Glu-C) were examined by the liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) phosphoproteomic analysis. RESULTS: The most dominant phosphorylated AQP2 peptide identified was S256 phosphorylated form (pS256), followed by pS261 with less pS264 and far less pT269, which was confirmed by the western blot analyses using phosphorylated AQP2-specific antibodies. In a patient lacking circulating VP, administration of a VP analogue showed a transient increase (peak at 30-60 min) in excretion of exosomes with pS261 AQP2. CONCLUSION: These data suggest that all phosphorylation sites of human AQP2 including T269 are phosphorylated and phosphorylations at S256 and S261 may play a dominant role in the urinary exosomal excretion of AQP2.

RESUMO

Japan's health system is well known for achieving one of the world's highest life expectancy with universal health coverage. However, the country now faces challenges of a rapidly aging population and changes in patterns and burden of disease. Primary care is an important component of a well-functioning health system. In Japan, primary care services are provided in both the community and hospital settings. The distinction between primary and secondary care may not always be clear. This review is based on the framework from the 2015 WHO publication on primary care systems in Europe. Our aim is to describe the journey of primary care in Japan, with its past, present, and future as a valuable addition to the academic English literature. We also hope that this article would inspire readers outside of Japan who might face similar issues in their respective countries.

A series of axially chiral peri-xanthenoxanthenes (PXXs) were synthesized from 1,1'-bi-2-naphthol without optical resolution. These are the first examples of chiral PXXs. Among them, PXX 5 with two naphthalene rings connected via a methylenedioxy bridge and a chiral axis displayed intense fluorescence (FL) and circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) both in solution (ΦFL of 0.72 and |glum| of 1.4 × 10-3) and in the solid state (ΦFL of 0.13 and |glum| of 4.8 × 10-3). The bridged structure of PXX 5 adjusts the angle between the vectors of the electric and magnetic transition dipole moments, which is essential for showing intense CPL activity.
