RESUMO

In this paper, a new microstrip triplexer is designed to work at 2.5 GHz, 4.4 GHz and 6 GHz for mid-band 5G applications. All channels are flat with three low group delays (GDs) of 0.84 ns, 0.75 ns and 0.49 ns, respectively. Compared to the previously reported works, the proposed triplexer has the minimum group delay. The designed triplexer has 18.2%, 13.7%, 23.6% fractional bandwidths (FBW%) at 2.5 GHz, 4.4 GHz and 6 GHz, respectively. The obtained insertion losses (ILs) are low at all channels. These features are obtained without a noticeable increase in the overall size. A novel and simple resonator is used to design the proposed triplexer, which includes two pairs of coupled lines combined with a shunt stub. A perfect mathematical analysis is performed to find the resonator behavior and the layout optimization. The type of shunt stub is determined mathematically. Also, the smallness or largeness of some important physical dimensions is determined using the proposed mathematical analysis. Finally, the designed triplexer is fabricated and measured, where the measurement results verify the simulations.

RESUMO

This research introduces a new designing process and analysis of an innovative Silicon-on-Insulator Metal-Semiconductor Field-Effect (SOI MESFET) structure that demonstrates improved DC and RF characteristics. The design incorporates several modifications to control and reduce the electric field concentration within the channel. These modifications include relocating the transistor channel to sub-regions near the source and drain, adjusting the position of the gate electrode closer to the source, introducing an aluminum layer beneath the channel, and integrating an oxide layer adjacent to the gate. The results show that the AlOx-MESFET configuration exhibits a remarkable increase of 128% in breakdown voltage and 156% in peak power. Furthermore, due to enhanced conductivity and a significant reduction in gate-drain capacitance, there is a notable improvement of 53% in the cut-off frequency and a 28% increase in the maximum oscillation frequency. Additionally, the current gain experiences a boost of 15%. The improved breakdown voltage and peak power make it suitable for applications requiring robust performance under high voltage and power conditions. The increased maximum oscillation frequency and cut-off frequency make it ideal for high-frequency applications where fast signal processing is crucial. Moreover, the enhanced current gain ensures efficient amplification of signals. The introduced SOI MESFET structure with its modifications offers significant improvements in various performance metrics. It provides high oscillation frequency, better breakdown voltage and good cut-off frequency, and current gain compared to the traditional designs. These enhancements make it a highly desirable choice for applications that demand high-frequency and high-power capabilities.

RESUMO

Three new wood-inhabiting fungal species, Cerioporus yunnanensis, Perenniporiopsis sinensis, and Sarcoporia yunnanensis, are proposed based on a combination of the morphological features and molecular evidence. Cerioporus yunnanensis is characterized by the pileate basidiomata having a fawn brown to black pileal surface, a dimitic hyphal system with clamped generative hyphae, and the presence of the fusoid cystidioles and cylindrical basidiospores (9-12.5 × 3.5-5 µm). Perenniporiopsis sinensis is distinct from the osseous pileus with verrucose, an orange-yellow to dark reddish-brown pileal surface with a cream margin, a trimitic hyphal system with clamped generative hyphae, and the presence of the fusiform cystidioles and ellipsoid basidiospores (9-11 × 5.5-6.5 µm). Sarcoporia yunnanensis is typical of the pileate basidiomata with a salmon to reddish-brown pileal surface, a monomitic hyphal system with clamped generative hyphae, and the presence of the ellipsoid basidiospores (4-5.5 × 2.5-4 µm). Sequences of ITS + nLSU + mt-SSU + TEF1 + RPB1 + RPB2 genes were used for the phylogenetic analyses using maximum likelihood, maximum parsimony, and Bayesian inference methods. The multiple genes with six loci analysis showed that the three new species nested within the order Polyporales, in which C. yunnanensis and P. sinensis nested into the family Polyporaceae, and S. yunnanensis grouped into the family Sarcoporiaceae.

RESUMO

Fumaria indica (Hausskn.) Pugsley (FIP), a member of the Papaveraceae family, has a documented history of use in traditional medicine to treat cardiovascular ailments, particularly hypertension, and has shown substantial therapeutic efficacy among native cultures worldwide. However, the identification of bioactive compounds and the mechanism of hypotensive effect with the cardioprotective potential investigations are yet to be determined. The study aimed to identify bioactive compounds, explore the hypotensive mechanism and cardioprotective potential, and assess the safety of Fumaria indica (Hausskn.) Pugsley hydromethanolic extract (Fip.Cr). LC ESI-MS/MS analysis was performed to identify the bioactive compounds. In vitro experiments were conducted on isolated rat aorta and atria, and an in vivo invasive BP measurement model was used. Acute and subacute toxicities were assessed for 14 and 28 days, respectively. Isoproterenol (ISO) was used to develop the rats' myocardial infarction damage model. The mRNA levels of NLRP3 inflammasome and the abundance level of Firmicutes and Lactobacillus were measured by qRT-PCR. The hypotensive effect of FIP bioactive compounds was also investigated using in silico methods. Fip. Cr LC ESI-MS/MS analysis discovered 33 bioactive compounds, including alkaloids and flavonoids. In isolated rat aorta, Fip.Cr reversed contractions induced by K+ (80 mM), demonstrating a calcium entry-blocking function, and had a vasorelaxant impact on phenylephrine (PE) (1 µM)-induced contractions unaffected by L-NAME, ruling out endothelial NO participation. Fip.Cr caused negative chronotropic and inotropic effects in isolated rat atria unaffected by atropine pretreatment, eliminating cardiac muscarinic receptor involvement. Safety evaluation showed no major adverse effects. In vivo, invasive BP measurement demonstrated a hypotensive effect comparable to verapamil. Fip.Cr protected the rats from ISO-induced MI interventions significantly in biometrical and cardiac serum biochemical indicators and histological examinations by reducing inflammation via inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome and elevating Firmicutes and Lactobacillus levels. The network pharmacology study revealed that the FIP hypotensive mechanism might involve MMP9, JAK2, HMOX1, NOS2, NOS3, TEK, SERPINE1, CCL2, and VEGFA. The molecular docking study revealed that FIP bioactive compounds docked better with CAC1C_ HUMAN than verapamil. These findings demonstrated that Fip.Cr's hypotensive mechanism may include calcium channel blocker activity. Fip.Cr ameliorated ISO-induced myocardial infarction in rats by attenuating inflammation, which might be via inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome and may prove beneficial for treating MI.

RESUMO

Duck adenovirus type-3 (DAdV-3) is a poorly characterized duck virus. A comprehensive analysis of the DAdV-3 pathogenicity and host immune response could be a valuable addition. Herein, DAdV-3 was isolated from Muscovy duck and virus-specific genes were confirmed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The obtained gene fragments were sequenced and compared with the reference sequence. Results confirmed that the clinically isolated virus was DAdV-3, named as HF-AN-2020. To evaluate DAdV-3 host immune response, the expression levels of MDA5, STING, IRF7, MAVS, and NF-κB, and inflammatory cytokines (IFN-ß, IFN-γ, and IL-1ß) were determined by quantitative reverse transcriptase PCR (qRT-PCR). The expression levels of IFN-ß and IFN-γ were 32.6- and 28.6-fold, respectively, higher (P < 0.01) than the control group. It was found that the upregulation of STING and NF-κB pathways was directly involved in the regulation of inflammatory cytokines (IFN-ß, IFN-γ, and IL-1ß). Furthermore, the gene regulation pathways consecutively upregulated the expression levels of MDA5, STING, IRF7, MAVS, and NF-κB up to 31.6, 10.5, 31.4, 2.2, and 2.6-fold, respectively, higher (P < 0.01) than the control group. The TCID50 of DAdV-3 for Muscovy duck and chicken was 10-3.24/0.1 mL with 0% mortality, indicating low pathogenicity in both Muscovy ducks and chickens, but DAdV-3 can induce higher expression of interferons. Genome analysis showed mutations in 4 amino acids located in ORF19B (Ser to Thr), ORF66 (Leu to Phe, Ile to Leu), and ORF67 (Gly to stop codon). This study provides essential and basic information for further research on the mechanism of the cellular immune responses against adenoviruses.

RESUMO

The development of prostheses and treatments for illnesses and recovery has recently been centered on hardware modeling for various delicate biological components, including the nervous system, brain, eyes, and heart. The retina, being the thinnest and deepest layer of the eye, is of particular interest. In this study, we employ the Nyquist-Based Approximation of Retina Rod Cell (NBAoRRC) approach, which has been adapted to utilize Look-Up Tables (LUTs) rather than original functions, to implement rod cells in the retina using cost-effective hardware. In modern mathematical models, numerous nonlinear functions are used to represent the activity of these cells. However, these nonlinear functions would require a substantial amount of hardware for direct implementation and may not meet the required speed constraints. The proposed method eliminates the need for multiplication functions and utilizes a fast, cost-effective rod cell device. Simulation results demonstrate the extent to which the proposed model aligns with the behavior of the primary rod cell model, particularly in terms of dynamic behavior. Based on the results of hardware implementation using the Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) board Virtex-5, the proposed model is shown to be reliable, consume 30 percent less power than the primary model, and have reduced hardware resource requirements. Based on the results of hardware implementation using the reconfigurable FPGA board Virtex-5, the proposed model is reliable, uses 30% less power consumption than the primary model in the worth state of the set of approximation method, and has a reduced hardware resource requirement. In fact, using the proposed model, this reduction in the power consumption can be achieved. Finally, in this article, by using the LUT which is systematically sampled (Nyquist rate), we were able to remove all costly operators in terms of hardware (digital) realization and achieve very good results in the field of digital implementation in two scales of network and single neuron.

RESUMO

Microstrip couplers play a crucial role in signal processing and transmission in various applications, including RF and wireless communication, radar systems, and satellites. In this work, a novel microstrip 180° coupler is designed, fabricated and measured. The layout configuration of this coupler is completely new and different from the previously reported Rat-race, branch-line and directional couplers. To obtain the proposed coupler, the meandrous coupled lines are used and analyzed mathematically. To improve the performance of our coupler, an optimization method is used. The designed coupler is very compact with an overall size of 0.014λg2. The obtained values of S21 and S31 are -3.45 dB and -3.75 dB, respectively at the operating frequency, while the fractional bandwidth (FBW) is 56.2%. It operates at fo = 1.61 GHz (suitable for 5G applications) and can suppress harmonics up to 2.17fo. Another advantage of this coupler is its low phase imbalance, while the phase difference between S21 and S31 is 180°± 0.023°. Therefore, our device is a balanced coupler with ±0.3 dB magnitude unbalance at its operating frequency. It is important to note that it is very difficult to find a coupler that has all these advantages at the same time. The proposed 180° coupler is fabricated and measured. The comparison shows that the measurement and simulation results are in good agreement. Therefore, the proposed coupler can be easily used in designing high-performance 5G communication systems.

RESUMO

Rainwater harvesting (RWH) is an essential technique for enhancing agricultural development, particularly in regions facing water scarcity or unreliable rainfall patterns. Water shortage, however, is one of the key causes of low crop production especially in mountainous regions like the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province where most rainwater is lost by runoff. Therefore, rainwater harvesting could be a suitable to make better use of runoff and increase crop production. The study focuses on selecting suitable rainwater harvesting sites in District Karak to enhance agriculture by utilizing multi-influence factor (MIF) and fuzzy overlay techniques. We considered seven factors, i.e., land use land cover (LULC), slope, geology, soil, rainfall, lineament, drainage density, to create a ranking system to understand its application in site selection analysis. The results were combined into one overlay process to produce a rainwater harvesting suitability map. The weighted overlay analysis of the MIF model results reveals that 167.96 km2 area has a very high potential for rainwater harvesting, 874.17 km2 has a high potential, 1182.92 km2 has a moderate and 354.50 km2 has a poor potential for rainwater harvesting. The fuzzy overlay analysis revealed that 257.53 km2 has a very high potential for rainwater harvesting, 896.56 km2 area is classified as high, 1018.30 km2 moderate, and 407.7 km2 has poor potential for rainwater harvesting. The findings of this research work will help the policymakers and decision-makers construct various rainwater harvesting structures in the study area to overcome the water shortage problems.

RESUMO

This paper presents a novel approach to reducing undesirable coupling in antenna arrays using custom-designed resonators and inverse surrogate modeling. To illustrate the concept, two standard patch antenna cells with 0.07λ edge-to-edge distance were designed and fabricated to operate at 2.45 GHz. A stepped-impedance resonator was applied between the antennas to suppress their mutual coupling. For the first time, the optimum values of the resonator geometry parameters were obtained using the proposed inverse artificial neural network (ANN) model, constructed from the sampled EM-simulation data of the system, and trained using the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. The inverse ANN surrogate directly yields the optimum resonator dimensions based on the target values of its S-parameters being the input parameters of the model. The involvement of surrogate modeling also contributes to the acceleration of the design process, as the array does not need to undergo direct EM-driven optimization. The obtained results indicate a remarkable cancellation of the surface currents between two antennas at their operating frequency, which translates into isolation as high as -46.2 dB at 2.45 GHz, corresponding to over 37 dB improvement as compared to the conventional setup.

RESUMO

In this paper, a compact dual-band diplexer is proposed using two interdigital filters. The proposed microstrip diplexer correctly works at 2.1 GHz and 5.1 GHz. In the proposed diplexer, two fifth-order bandpass interdigital filters are designed to pass the desired frequency bands. Applied interdigital filters with simple structures pass the 2.1 GHz and 5.1 GHz frequencies and suppress other frequency bands with high attenuation levels. The dimensions of the interdigital filter are obtained using the artificial neural network (ANN) model, constructed from the EM-simulation data. The desired filter and diplexer parameters, such as operating frequency, bandwidth, and insertion loss, can be obtained using the proposed ANN model. The insertion loss parameter of the proposed diplexer is 0.4 dB, and more than 40 dB output port isolation is obtained (for both operating frequencies). The main circuit has the small size of 28.5 mm × 23 mm (0.32 λg × 0.26 λg). The proposed diplexer, with the achieved desired parameters, is a good candidate for UHF/SHF applications.

RESUMO

In this paper, a compact microstrip rat-race coupler at a 950 MHz operating frequency is designed, simulated, and fabricated. New branches are proposed in this design using high-/low- impedance open-ended resonators. In the conventional rat-race coupler, there are three long λ/4 branches and a 3λ/4 branch, and they occupy a very large area. In the presented designed, three compact branches are proposed for use instead of three λ/4 branches and an ultra-compact branch is suggested for use instead of the 3λ/4 branch. Additionally, an artificial neural network (ANN) approach is incorporated to improve the performance of the resonators using a radial basis function (RBF) network. The proposed compact structure has achieved a reduction of more than 82% compared with the size of the conventional coupler structures. Additionally, the proposed coupler can suppress the 2nd up to the 5th harmonic to improve the performance of the device.

RESUMO

Analyzing metabolic pathways in systems biology requires accurate kinetic parameters that represent the simulated in vivo processes. Simulation of the fermentation pathway in the Saccharomyces cerevisiae kinetic model help saves much time in the optimization process. Fitting the simulated model into the experimental data is categorized under the parameter estimation problem. Parameter estimation is conducted to obtain the optimal values for parameters related to the fermentation process. This step is essential because insufficient identification of model parameters can cause erroneous conclusions. The kinetic parameters cannot be measured directly. Therefore, they must be estimated from the experimental data either in vitro or in vivo. Parameter estimation is a challenging task in the biological process due to the complexity and nonlinearity of the model. Therefore, we propose the Artificial Bee Colony algorithm (ABC) to estimate the parameters in the fermentation pathway of S. cerevisiae to obtain more accurate values. A metabolite with a total of six parameters is involved in this article. The experimental results show that ABC outperforms other estimation algorithms and gives more accurate kinetic parameter values for the simulated model. Most of the estimated kinetic parameter values obtained from the proposed algorithm are the closest to the experimental data.

RESUMO

As the most popular technologies of the 21st century, artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT) are the most effective paradigms that have played a vital role in transforming the agricultural industry during the pandemic. The convergence of AI and IoT has sparked a recent wave of interest in artificial intelligence of things (AIoT). An IoT system provides data flow to AI techniques for data integration and interpretation as well as for the performance of automatic image analysis and data prediction. The adoption of AIoT technology significantly transforms the traditional agriculture scenario by addressing numerous challenges, including pest management and post-harvest management issues. Although AIoT is an essential driving force for smart agriculture, there are still some barriers that must be overcome. In this paper, a systematic literature review of AIoT is presented to highlight the current progress, its applications, and its advantages. The AIoT concept, from smart devices in IoT systems to the adoption of AI techniques, is discussed. The increasing trend in article publication regarding to AIoT topics is presented based on a database search process. Lastly, the challenges to the adoption of AIoT technology in modern agriculture are also discussed.

RESUMO

Global concerns regarding environmental preservation and energy sustainability have emerged due to the various impacts of constantly increasing energy demands and climate changes. With advancements in smart grid, edge computing, and Metaverse-based technologies, it has become apparent that conventional private power networks are insufficient to meet the demanding requirements of industrial applications. The unique capabilities of 5G, such as numerous connections, high reliability, low latency, and large bandwidth, make it an excellent choice for smart grid services. The 5G network industry will heavily rely on the Internet of Things (IoT) to progress, which will act as a catalyst for the development of the future smart grid. This comprehensive platform will not only include communication infrastructure for smart grid edge computing, but also Metaverse platforms. Therefore, optimizing the IoT is crucial to achieve a sustainable edge computing network. This paper presents the design, fabrication, and evaluation of a super-efficient GSM triplexer for 5G-enabled IoT in sustainable smart grid edge computing and the Metaverse. This component is intended to operate at 0.815/1.58/2.65 GHz for 5G applications. The physical layout of our triplexer is new, and it is presented for the first time in this work. The overall size of our triplexer is only 0.007 λg2, which is the smallest compared to the previous works. The proposed triplexer has very low insertion losses of 0.12 dB, 0.09 dB, and 0.42 dB at the first, second, and third channels, respectively. We achieved the minimum insertion losses compared to previous triplexers. Additionally, the common port return losses (RLs) were better than 26 dB at all channels.

RESUMO

In this paper, two novel dual-band bandpass filters (BPFs) and a compact quad-channel diplexer working at 1.7/3.3 GHz and 1.9/3.6 GHz are proposed. In the proposed diplexer design, triangular loop resonators and rectangular loop resonators are used together to reduce the circuit size and improve diplexer performances. Insertion loss (IL) and return loss (RL) of the proposed diplexer are better than 0.8 dB and 21 dB, respectively, at these four operating frequencies. Output ports isolation parameter is better than 30 dB. With the achieved specifications, the proposed diplexer can be used in L and S band applications.

RESUMO

Rab22a is an important small GTPase protein the molecule that is involved in intracellular transportation and regulation of proteins. It also plays an important role in antigens uptake, transportation, regulation of endosome morphology, and also regulates the transport of antigens to MHC (Major Histocompatibility Complex) molecules. To investigate the role of Rab22a, the intracellular co-localization of chicken Rab22a (cRab22a) molecule and its relationship to BF and chicken invariant chain (cIi) molecules was studied. A 3D protein structure of Rab22a was constructed by using informatics tools (DNASTAR 4.0 and DNAMAN). Based on the model, the corresponding recombinant eukaryotic plasmids were constructed by point mutations in the protein's structural domains. HEK 293T cells were co-transfected with plasmids pEGFP-C1-cIi to observe the intracellular co-localization. Secondly, the DC2.4 Mouse Dendritic Cell and Murine RAW 264.7 cells were transfected with recombinant plasmids of pmCherry-cRab22a and pmCherry-mRab22a respectively. Subsequently, the intracellular localization of cRab22a in early and late endosomes was observed with specific antibodies against EEA1 and LAMP1 respectively. For gene expression-based studies, the cRab22a gene was down-regulated and up-regulated in HD11 cells, following the detection of transcription levels of the BFa (MHCIa) and cIi genes by real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR). The interactions of the cRab22a gene with BFa and cIi were detected by co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP) and Western blot. The results showed that the protein structures of chicken and mouse Rab22a were highly homologous (95.4%), and both localize to the early and late endosomes. Ser41 and Tyr74 are key amino acids in the Switch regions of Rab22a which maintain its intracellular localization. The down-regulation of cRab22a gene expression significantly reduced (p < 0.01) the transcription of BFa (MHCIa) and cIi in HD11 cells. However, when the expression of the cRab22a gene was increased 55 times as compared to control cells, the expression of the BFa (MHCIa) gene was increased 1.7 times compared to the control cells (p < 0.01), while the expression of the cIi gene did not significantly differ from control (p > 0.05). Western blot results showed that cRab22a could not directly bind to BFa and cIi. So, cRab22a can regulate BFa and cIi protein molecules indirectly. It is concluded that cRab22a was localized with cIi in the endosome. The Switch regions of cRab22a are the key domains that affect intracellular localization and colocalization of the cIi molecule.

RESUMO

COVID-19 was first discovered in December 2019 in Wuhan. There have been reports of thousands of illnesses and hundreds of deaths in almost every region of the world. Medical images, when combined with cutting-edge technology such as artificial intelligence, have the potential to improve the efficiency of the public health system and deliver faster and more reliable findings in the detection of COVID-19. The process of developing the COVID-19 diagnostic system begins with image accusation and proceeds via preprocessing, feature extraction, and classification. According to literature review, several attempts to develop taxonomies for COVID-19 detection using image processing methods have been introduced. However, most of these adhere to a standard category that exclusively considers classification methods. Therefore, in this study a new taxonomy for the early stages of COVID-19 detection is proposed. It attempts to offer a full grasp of image processing in COVID-19 while considering all phases required prior to classification. The survey concludes with a discussion of outstanding concerns and future directions.

RESUMO

Since their discovery, MXenes have conferred various intriguing features because of their distinctive structures. Focus has been placed on using MXenes in electrochemical energy storage including a supercapacitor showing significant and promising development. However, like other 2D materials, MXene layers unavoidably experience stacking agglomeration because of its great van der Waals forces, which causes a significant loss of electrochemically active sites. With the help of MoS2, a better MXene-based electrodecan is planned to fabricate supercapacitors with the remarkable electrochemical performance. The synthesis of MXene/MoS2 and the ground effects of supercapacitors are currently being analysed by many researchers internationally. The performance of commercial supercapacitors might be improved via electrode architecture. This analysis will support the design of MXene and MoS2 hybrid electrodes for highly effective supercapacitors. Improved electrode capacitance, voltage window and energy density are discussed in this literature study. With a focus on the most recent electrochemical performance of both MXene and MoS2-based electrodes and devices, this review summarises recent developments in materials synthesis and its characterisation. It also helps to identify the difficulties and fresh possibilities MXenes MoS2 and its hybrid heterostructure in this developing field of energy storage. Future choices for constructing supercapacitors will benefit from this review. This review examines the newest developments in MXene/MoS2 supercapacitors, primarily focusing on compiling literature from 2017 through 2022. This review also presents an overview of the design (structures), recent developments, and challenges of the emerging electrode materials, with thoughts on how well such materials function electrochemically in supercapacitors.

RESUMO

Rapid and cost-effective diagnostic tests for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) are a critical and valuable weapon for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic response. SARS-CoV-2 invasion is primarily mediated by human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (hACE2). Recent developments in ACE2-based SARS-CoV-2 detection modalities accentuate the potential of this natural host-virus interaction for developing point-of-care (POC) COVID-19 diagnostic systems. Although research on harnessing ACE2 for SARS-CoV-2 detection is in its infancy, some interesting biosensing devices have been developed, showing the commercial viability of this intriguing new approach. The exquisite performance of the reported ACE2-based COVID-19 biosensors provides opportunities for researchers to develop rapid detection tools suitable for virus detection at points of entry, workplaces, or congregate scenarios in order to effectively implement pandemic control and management plans. However, to be considered as an emerging approach, the rationale for ACE2-based biosensing needs to be critically and comprehensively surveyed and discussed. Herein, we review the recent status of ACE2-based detection methods, the signal transduction principles in ACE2 biosensors and the development trend in the future. We discuss the challenges to development of ACE2-biosensors and delineate prospects for their use, along with recommended solutions and suggestions.

RESUMO

The outbreak of the monkeypox virus (MPXV) in non-endemic countries is an emerging global health threat and may have an economic impact if proactive actions are not taken. As shown by the COVID-19 pandemic, rapid, accurate, and cost-effective virus detection techniques play a pivotal role in disease diagnosis and control. Considering the sudden multicountry MPXV outbreak, a critical evaluation of the MPXV detection approaches would be a timely addition to the endeavors in progress for MPXV control and prevention. Herein, we evaluate the current MPXV detection methods, discuss their pros and cons, and provide recommended solutions to the problems. We review the traditional and emerging nucleic acid detection approaches, immunodiagnostics, whole-particle detection, and imaging-based MPXV detection techniques. The insights provided in this article will help researchers to develop novel techniques for the diagnosis of MPXV.
