INTRODUCTION: Long-term exposure to air pollutants is associated with an increased risk of Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment. Therefore, we investigated the association between long-term air pollution exposure and changes in neuroimaging markers. METHODS: In this longitudinal study, we studied a prospective cohort of 361 adults residing in four cities in the Republic of Korea. Long-term concentrations of particulate matter with aerodynamic diameters of ≤10 µm (PM10) and ≤2.5 µm (PM2.5) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) at residential addresses were estimated. Neuroimaging markers (cortical thickness and subcortical volume) were obtained from brain magnetic resonance images at baseline (August 2014 to March 2017) and at the 3-year follow-up (until September 2020). Linear mixed-effects models were used, adjusting for covariates. RESULTS: A 10-µg/m3 increase in PM10 was associated with reduced whole-brain mean (ß= -0.45, standard error (SE)= 0.10, P< 0.001), frontal (ß= -0.53, SE= 0.11; P< 0.001) and temporal thicknesses (ß= -0.37, SE= 0.12; P= 0.002). A 10-ppb increase in NO2 was associated with a decline in the whole brain mean cortical thickness (ß= -0.23, SE= 0.05; P< 0.001), frontal (ß= -0.25, SE= 0.05; P< 0.001), parietal (ß= -0.12, SE= 0.05; P= 0.025), and temporal thicknesses (ß= -0.19, SE= 0.06; P= 0.001). Subcortical structures associated with air pollutants include the thalamus volume. CONCLUSIONS: Long-term exposure to PM10 and NO2 may lead to cortical thinning in adults.

Sensory abnormalities are observed in ~90% of individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), but the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. GluN2B, an NMDA receptor subunit that regulates long-term depression and circuit refinement during brain development, has been strongly implicated in ASD, but whether GRIN2B mutations lead to sensory abnormalities remains unclear. Here, we report that Grin2b-mutant mice show behavioral sensory hypersensitivity and brain hyperconnectivity associated with the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC). Grin2b-mutant mice with a patient-derived C456Y mutation (Grin2bC456Y/+) show sensory hypersensitivity to mechanical, thermal, and electrical stimuli through supraspinal mechanisms. c-fos and functional magnetic resonance imaging indicate that the ACC is hyperactive and hyperconnected with other brain regions under baseline and stimulation conditions. ACC pyramidal neurons show increased excitatory synaptic transmission. Chemogenetic inhibition of ACC pyramidal neurons normalizes ACC hyperconnectivity and sensory hypersensitivity. These results suggest that GluN2B critically regulates ASD-related cortical connectivity and sensory brain functions.

Objectives: This research delves into the application of texture analysis in spine computed tomography (CT) scans and its correlation with bone mineral density (BMD), as determined by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). It specifically addresses the discordance between the 2 measurements, suggesting that certain spinal-specific factors may contribute to this discrepancy. Methods: The study involved 405 cases from a single institution collected between May 6, 2012 and June 30, 2021. Each case underwent a spinal CT scan and a DXA scan. BMD values at the lumbar region (T12 to S1) and total hip were recorded. Texture features from axial cuts of T12 to S1 vertebrae were extracted using gray-level co-occurrence matrices, and a regression model was constructed to predict the BMD values. Results: The correlation between CT texture analysis results and BMD from DXA was moderate, with a correlation coefficient ranging between 0.4 and 0.5. This discordance was examined in light of factors unique to the spine region, such as abdominal obesity, aortic calcification, and lumbar degenerative changes, which could potentially affect BMD measurements. Conclusions: Emerging from this study is a novel insight into the discordance between spinal CT texture analysis and DXA-derived BMD measurements, highlighting the unique influence of spinal attributes. This revelation calls into question the exclusive reliance on DXA scans for BMD assessment, particularly in scenarios where DXA scanning may not be feasible or accurate.

Biodistribution tests are crucial for evaluating the safety of cell therapy (CT) products in order to prevent unwanted organ homing of these products in patients. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) using intronic Alu is a popular method for biodistribution testing owing to its ability to detect donor cells without modifying CT products and low detection limit. However, Alu-qPCR may generate inaccurate information owing to background signals caused by the mixing of human genomic DNA with that of experimental animals. The aim of this study was to develop a test method that is more specific and sensitive than Alu-qPCR, targeting the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) sequence that varies substantially between humans and experimental animals. We designed primers for 12S, 16S, and cytochrome B in mtDNA regions, assessed their specificity and sensitivity, and selected primers and probes for the 12S region. Human adipose-derived stem cells, used as CT products, were injected into the tail vein of athymic NCr-nu/nu mice and detected, 7 d after administration, in their lungs at an average concentration of 2.22 ± 0.69 pg/µg mouse DNA, whereas Alu was not detected. Therefore, mtDNA is more specific and sensitive than Alu and is a useful target for evaluating CT product biodistribution.

Purpose: A "Smart Cancer Care" platform that integrates patient-reported outcomes (PROs) with management has been established in Korea. This study focused on improving health behaviors and connecting patients to welfare services by introducing and assessing the feasibility of "Smart Cancer Care 2.0," an enhanced version designed for monitoring complications post-cancer treatment. Materials and Methods: Smart Cancer Care 2.0 was developed by conducting a literature review and consulting with expert panels to identify symptoms or variables requiring monitoring and management guidelines based on the treatment type. Qualitative and quantitative surveys were conducted to assess the feasibility of the app and web system based on the experiences of patients with cancer and healthcare workers. Results: A total of 81 symptoms or variables (chemotherapy-, surgery-, radiotherapy-, rehabilitation-, and health management-related) were selected for management in Smart Cancer Care 2.0. PROs for these symptoms were basically categorized into three severity grades: (1) preventive management, (2) self-treatment, and (3) consultation with a healthcare worker or visit to a healthcare institution. The overall mean scores in the feasibility evaluation by patients and healthcare workers were 3.83 and 3.90 points, respectively, indicating high usefulness. Conclusion: Smart Cancer Care 2.0 leverages the existing ICT-based platform, Smart Cancer Care, and further includes health behaviors and welfare services. Smart Cancer Care 2.0 may play a crucial role in establishing a comprehensive post-discharge management system for patients with cancer as it provides suitable interventions based on patients' responses and allows the regularly collected PROs to be easily viewed for streamlined care.

Recently, inverted perovskite solar cells (PeSCs) have witnessed significant advancements; however, their long-term stability remains a challenge because of the oxidation of silver cathodes to form AgI by mobile iodides. To overcome this problem, we propose the integration of an electron-deficient naphthalene diimide-based zwitterion (NDI-ZI) as the cathode interlayer. Compared to the physical ion-blocking layer, it effectively captures ions by forming ionic bonds via electrostatic Coulombic interaction to suppress the migration of iodide and Ag ions. The NDI-ZI interlayer also suppresses the shunt paths and modulates the work function of the Ag electrode by forming interface dipoles, thereby enhancing charge extraction. FA0.85Cs0.15PbI3 based PeSCs incorporating NDI-ZI exhibited a noticeably high power conversion efficiency of up to 23.3% and outstanding stability, maintaining ∼80% of their initial performance over 1500 h at 85 °C and over 500 h under continuous 1-sun illumination. This study highlights the potential of a zwitterionic cathode interlayer in diverse perovskite optoelectronic devices, leading to their improved efficiency and stability.

PURPOSE: Evidence suggests that long-term air pollution exposures may induce depression; however, the influence of physical activity on this effect is unclear. We investigated modification of the associations between air pollution exposures and depression by the intensity of physical activity. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This cross-sectional study included 1454 Korean adults. Depression was defined as a Geriatric Depression Scale score ≥8. Concentrations of particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5: diameter ≤10 µm and ≤2.5 µm, respectively) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) level at each participant's residential address were estimated. Based on metabolic equivalents, physical activity intensity was categorized as inactive, minimally active, or health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA). RESULTS: Each 1-part per billion (ppb) NO2 concentration increase was significantly associated with a 6% [95% confidence interval (CI), 4%-8%] increase in depression risk. In older adults (≥65 years), a 1-ppb NO2 increase was associated (95% CI) with a 4% (1%-7%), 9% (5%-13%), and 21% (9%-33%) increase in depression risk in the inactive, minimally active, and HEPA groups, respectively. Compared with the inactive group, the minimally active (p=0.039) and HEPA groups (p=0.004) had higher NO2 exposure-associated depression risk. Associations of PM10 and PM2.5 with depression did not significantly differ by the intensity of physical activity. CONCLUSION: We suggest that older adults who vigorously exercise outdoors may be susceptible to air pollution-related depression.

PURPOSE: To investigate the relationship between myopia and obesity through direct measurements of fat content. METHODS: A cross-sectional study used a stratified, multistage survey, the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2008-2010). Subjects 19 years or older (n = 10,305) were included. Participants were divided into three groups according to refractive status: myopia (spherical equivalent [SE] ≤ -1.0 diopter [D]), emmetropia (-1.0 D < SE ≤ 1.0 D), and hyperopia (SE > 1.0 D). Obesity was investigated with assessment of fat mass and body mass index or waist circumference. Fat mass was measured with whole-body dual energy x-ray absorptiometry. Body fat percentage was calculated as (total fat mass / body weight × 100). RESULTS: Higher obesity index was found in individuals with myopic eyes after adjustment for age, sex, education level, income status, physical activity, residence, and serum vitamin D level. The significant difference in total body fat percentages among myopia, emmetropia, and hyperopia was significant in the young age group (19-39 years, p < 0.05) but not in the middle age group (40-64 years) and the old age group (≥65 years). Individuals with a higher percentage of total body fat had greater odds ratios for myopia (fourth quartile of body fat; odds ratio, 1.352; 95% confidence interval, 1.178-1.551). CONCLUSIONS: An association was found between adiposity and myopia in relatively young adults using direct measurements of fat mass.

BACKGROUND: Melanoma incidence is on the rise in East Asia, yet studies of the molecular landscape are lacking in this population. We examined patients with melanoma who underwent next-generation sequencing (NGS) at a single tertiary center in South Korea, focusing on patients harboring NRAS or RAF alterations who received belvarafenib, a pan-RAF dimer inhibitor, through the Expanded Access Program (EAP). PATIENTS AND METHODS: Data were collected from 192 patients with melanoma who underwent NGS between November 2017 and May 2023. Variant call format data were obtained and annotated. Patients in the EAP received 450 mg twice daily doses of belvarafenib. RESULTS: Alterations in the RAS/RTK pathway were the most prevalent, with BRAF and NRAS alteration rates of 22.4% and 17.7%, respectively. NGS enabled additional detection of fusion mutations, including 6 BRAF and 1 RAF1 fusion. Sixteen patients with NRAS or RAF alterations received belvarafenib through the EAP, and disease control was observed in 50%, with 2 patients demonstrating remarkable responses. CONCLUSIONS: Our study highlights the value of NGS in detecting BRAF, NRAS mutations and RAF fusions, expanding possibilities for targeted therapies in malignant melanoma. Belvarafenib showed clinical benefit in patients harboring these alterations. Ongoing trials will provide further insights into the safety and efficacy of belvarafenib.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to explore the extent to which religious-psychological factors contribute to self-perceived sport performance among religious athletes. METHODS: The participants consisted of 612 athletes (310 males, 302 females) aged 12-70 years (mean age = 25.33; SD = 8.99) who were competing in sport competitions at the time, either individually or in a team, or both, and who had formally registered in local, regional, or national sport federations in Malaysia. They completed the Athletic Religious Faith Scale (ARFS) and a self-perceived sport performance questionnaire. RESULTS: The results showed that religious-psychological factors explain around 21% of the variance in self-perceived sport performance among religious athletes. Only three religious-psychological factors (i.e., religious coping, athletic identity, and religious dietary practices) contributed to the stimulation of self-perceived sport performance; in particular, religious coping was the most predictable factor, whereas the other factors (i.e., dependence on faith, flow, religious mental healing, and religious psychological effects) had no meaningful relationship with self-perceived sport performance. CONCLUSIONS: This finding suggests that sport psychologists, coaches, and other professionals should consider the importance of religious faith and help religious athletes practice positive religious coping (e.g., religious social support or religious meditation) to enhance athletes' well-being and athletic performance.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Early- and late-onset Alzheimer's disease (EOAD and LOAD, respectively) share the same neuropathological hallmarks of amyloid and neurofibrillary tangles but have distinct cognitive features. We compared structural brain connectivity between the EOAD and LOAD groups using structural network efficiency and evaluated the association of structural network efficiency with the cognitive profile and pathological markers of Alzheimer's disease (AD). METHODS: The structural brain connectivity networks of 80 AD patients (47 with EOAD and 33 with LOAD) and 57 healthy controls were reconstructed using diffusion-tensor imaging. Graph-theoretic indices were calculated and intergroup differences were evaluated. Correlations between network parameters and neuropsychological test results were analyzed. The correlations of the amyloid and tau burdens with network parameters were evaluated for the patients and controls. RESULTS: Compared with the age-matched control group, the EOAD patients had increased global path length and decreased global efficiency, averaged local efficiency, and averaged clustering coefficient. In contrast, no significant differences were found in the LOAD patients. Locally, the EOAD patients showed decreases in local efficiency and the clustering coefficient over a wide area compared with the control group, whereas LOAD patients showed such decreases only within a limited area. Changes in network parameters were significantly correlated with multiple cognitive domains in EOAD patients, but only with Clinical Dementia Rating Sum-of-Boxes scores in LOAD patients. Finally, the tau burden was correlated with changes in network parameters in AD signature areas in both patient groups, while there was no correlation with the amyloid burden. CONCLUSIONS: The impairment of structural network efficiency and its effects on cognition may differ between EOAD and LOAD.

Objective: To assess student-athletes' knowledge and attitudes towards sport-related concussions and to investigate concussion history and reporting behaviours. METHODS: The cross-sectional, survey-based study was conducted from September 2020 to June 2021 after approval from the research ethics committee of Universiti Malaya, Malaysia, and comprised student-athletes of either gender aged 18 years or above at various universities across Pakistan and who played contact or collision sports for their universities. Data was collected using the Urdu version of the Rosenbaum Concussion Knowledge and Attitudes Survey-Student Version. Data was also gathered about the participants' self-reported exposure to formal concussion education, previous sport-related concussion history, and reporting behaviours, where applicable. Data was analysed using SPSS 23. RESULTS: Of the 369 participants, 224(60.7%) were males and 145(39.3%) were females. The overall mean age was 19.95±1.75 years. Among the participants, 327(88.6%) had not received formal concussion education. The mean knowledge score was 12.76±2.73 out of a possible 25 points, and the mean attitude score was 38.63±10.30 out of 75 points. Knowledge had a weak positive correlation with attitude towards sport-related concussions SRC (p<0.05). Females displayed better attitudes towards sport-related concussions than their male counterparts (p<0.05). Overall, 126(34%) participants had experienced sport-related concussion symptoms following a blow to the head in the preceding 12 months, and 81(64.3%) of them had continued playing while being symptomatic. Conclusion: Pakistani university student-athletes lacked adequate concussion knowledge and held poor attitudes towards sport-related concussions.

BACKGROUND: Femoral neck fractures are effectively treated with bipolar hemiarthroplasty (BHA) surgery, yet postoperative pain management remains a challenge. This study explores the efficacy of multimodal pain management in minimizing opioid use and enhancing recovery. METHODS: A retrospective analysis of 87 patients who underwent BHA between September 2016 and September 2020 was conducted. Patients were analyzed in two groups: Group I (n = 42), receiving serial-injection nerve blocks (SINBs) before and after surgery, and Group II (n = 41), with no SINB. Notably, all nerve blocks for Group I were performed after November 2017, following the implementation of this technique in our protocol. Pain and analgesic medication usage were assessed over 72 h post-surgery, along with hospitalization duration and perioperative complications. RESULTS: Group I patients exhibited significantly lower pain scores at 6, 12, 24, and 48 h post-surgery, alongside reduced incidences of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) and delirium compared with Group II (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Utilizing sequential lower limb nerve blocks under ultrasound guidance in BHA surgeries effectively reduces early postoperative pain and associated adverse effects. This approach demonstrates potential benefits in pain management, leading to diminished narcotic usage and lower risks of PONV and delirium.

The structural plasticity of synapses is crucial for regulating brain functions. However, currently available methods for studying synapse organization based on split fluorescent proteins (FPs) have been limited in assessing synaptic dynamics in vivo due to the irreversible binding of split FPs. Here, we develop 'SynapShot', a method for visualizing the structural dynamics of intact synapses by combining dimerization-dependent FPs (ddFPs) with engineered synaptic adhesion molecules. SynapShot allows real-time monitoring of reversible and bidirectional changes of synaptic contacts under physiological stimulation. The application of green and red ddFPs in SynapShot enables simultaneous visualization of two distinct populations of synapses. Notably, the red-shifted SynapShot is highly compatible with blue light-based optogenetic techniques, allowing for visualization of synaptic dynamics while precisely controlling specific signaling pathways. Furthermore, we demonstrate that SynapShot enables real-time monitoring of structural changes in synaptic contacts in the mouse brain during both primitive and higher-order behaviors.

Despite intensive clinical and scientific efforts, the mortality rate of sepsis remains high due to the lack of precise biomarkers for patient stratification and therapeutic guidance. Secreted human tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase 1 (WARS1), an endogenous ligand for Toll-like receptor (TLR) 2 and TLR4 against infection, activates the genes that signify the hyperinflammatory sepsis phenotype. High plasma WARS1 levels stratified the early death of critically ill patients with sepsis, along with elevated levels of cytokines, chemokines, and lactate, as well as increased numbers of absolute neutrophils and monocytes, and higher Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) scores. These symptoms were recapitulated in severely ill septic mice with hypercytokinemia. Further, injection of WARS1 into mildly septic mice worsened morbidity and mortality. We created an anti-human WARS1-neutralizing antibody that suppresses proinflammatory cytokine expression in marmosets with endotoxemia. Administration of this antibody into severe septic mice attenuated cytokine storm, organ failure, and early mortality. With antibiotics, the antibody almost completely prevented fatalities. These data imply that blood-circulating WARS1-guided anti-WARS1 therapy may provide a novel theranostic strategy for life-threatening systemic hyperinflammatory sepsis.

BACKGROUND: This research explores the application of morphometric texture analysis in chest Computed Tomography (CT) scans for determining Bone Mineral Content (BMC) and its temporal changes, both crucial in diagnosing osteoporosis. The study establishes an innovative approach to osteoporosis screening by leveraging Hounsfield Units (HUs) in CT scans to evaluate BMC, offering a comparison with dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA)-based BMC. METHODS: A total of 806 instances (encompassing 379 individuals) were meticulously compiled from a sole institution, during the period stretching from 6 May 2012 to 30 June 2020. In this detailed analysis, each participant was subjected to a pair of chest CT scans, sequentially pursued by a DXA scan, spread over two years. Focused records of BMC values at the inaugural lumbar vertebra (L1) were secured from both the DXA and CT axial slices across all instances. A meticulous selection process pinpointed the largest trabecular section from the L1 vertebral body, whereupon 45 distinctive texture attributes were harvested utilizing gray-level co-occurrence matrix methodologies. Utilizing these amassed 45 attributes, a regression architecture was devised, aiming to forecast the precise BMC values individually. Moreover, an alternative regression framework was engaged, leveraging 90 distinct features, to gauge the BMC fluctuations observed between the duo of scans administered to each participant. RESULTS: The precision of the cultivated regression frameworks was scrupulously assessed, benchmarking against the correlation coefficient (CC) and the mean absolute deviation (MAE) in comparison to the DXA-established references. The regression apparatus employed for estimating BMC unveiled a CC of 0.754 and an MAE of 1.641 (g), respectively. Conversely, the regression mechanism devoted to discerning the variations in BMC manifested a CC of 0.680, coupled with an MAE of 0.528 (g), respectively. CONCLUSION: The innovative methodology utilizing morphometric texture analysis in CT HUs offers an indirect, yet promising, approach for osteoporosis screening by providing estimations of BMC and its temporal changes. The estimations demonstrate moderate positive correlations with DXA measures, suggesting a potential alternative in circumstances where DXA scanning is limited.

Background: Highlighting a gap in comprehending bone microarchitecture's intricacies using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA), this study aims to bridge this chasm by analyzing texture in non-weight bearing regions on axial computed tomography (CT) scans. Our goal is to enrich osteoporosis patient management by enhancing bone quality and microarchitecture insights. Methods: Conducted at Busan Medical Center from March 1, 2013, to August 30, 2022, 1,320 cases (782 patients) were screened. After applying exclusion criteria, 458 samples (296 patients) underwent bone mineral density (BMD) assessment with both CT and DXA. Regions of interest (ROIs) included spine pedicle's maximum trabecular area, sacrum Zone 1, superior/inferior pubic ramus, and femur's greater/lesser trochanters. Texture features (n=45) were extracted from ROIs using gray-level co-occurrence matrices. A regression model predicted BMD, spotlighting the top five influential texture features. Results: Correlation coefficients ranged from 0.709 (lowest for total femur BMD) to 0.804 (highest for femur intertrochanter BMD). Mean squared error (MSE) values were also provided for lumbar and femur BMD/bone mineral content (BMC) metrics. The most influential texture features included contrast_32, correlation_32_v, and three other metrics. Conclusions: By melding traditional DXA and CT texture analysis, our approach presents a comprehensive bone health perspective, potentially revolutionizing osteoporosis diagnostics.

BACKGROUND: Recent research underscores the clinical relevance of muscle conditions such as sarcopenia and their links to bone mineral density (BMD), yet notable gaps persist in the understanding of their interconnections. Our study addresses this by introducing a novel approach to decipher the correlation between BMD and the texture of the multifidus muscle, utilizing spinal computed tomography (CT) and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) to evaluate muscle texture, BMD, and bone mineral content (BMC) at the total lumbar vertebra and total hip. METHODS: Our single-institution study examined 395 cases collected from 6 May 2012 to 30 November 2021. Each patient underwent a spinal CT scan and a DXA scan within a one-month interval. BMD and BMC at the total lumbar vertebra and total hip were measured. The texture features of the multifidus muscle from the axial cuts of T12 to S1 vertebrae were assessed via gray-level co-occurrence matrices. CT texture analysis values at angles of 45 + 45 and 90 degrees were calculated and correlated with BMD and BMC. A regression model was then constructed to predict BMD values, and the precision of these correlations was evaluated using mean square error (MSE) analysis. RESULTS: Total lumbar BMC showed a correlation of 0.583-0.721 (MSE 1.568-1.842) and lumbar BMD of 0.632-0.756 (MSE 0.068-0.097). Total hip BMC had a correlation of 0.556-0.690 (MSE 0.448-0.495), while hip BMD ranged from 0.585 to 0.746 (MSE 0.072-0.092). CONCLUSIONS: The analysis of spinal CT texture alongside BMD and BMC measures provides a new approach to understanding the relationship between bone and muscle health. The strong correlations expected from our research affirm the importance of integrating bone and muscle measures in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of conditions such as sarcopenia and osteoporosis.

Perovskite defects are a major hurdle in the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). While various defect passivation materials have been explored, most are insulators that hinder charge transport. This study investigates the potential of two different π-conjugated polyelectrolytes (CPEs), MPS2-TEA and PCPDTBT2-TMA, as semiconducting additives in PSCs. The CPEs differ in electrical conductivity, offering a unique approach to bridge defect mitigation and charge carrier transport. Unlike previous uses of CPEs mainly as interlayers or charge transport layers, we explore their direct effect on defect passivation within a perovskite layer. Secondary ion microscopy reveals the even distribution of CPEs within the perovskite layer and their efficient defect passivation potential is studied through various spectroscopic analyses. Comparing MPS2-TEA and PCPDTBT2-TMA, we find MPS2-TEA to be superior in defect passivation. The highly conductive nature of PCPDTBT2-TMA due to self-doping diminishes its defect passivation ability. The negative sulfonate groups in the side chains of PCPDTBT2-TMA stabilize polarons, reducing defect passivation capability. Finally, the PSCs with MPS2-TEA achieve remarkable power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of 22.7% for 0.135 cm2 and 20.0% for large-area (1 cm2) cells. Furthermore, the device with MPS2-TEA maintained over 87.3% of initial PCE after 960 h at continuous 1-sun illumination and 89% of PCE after 850 h at 85 °C in a nitrogen glovebox without encapsulation. This highlights CPEs as promising defect passivation additives, unlocking potential for improved efficiency and stability not only in PSCs but also in wider applications.
