AIM: To investigate the clinical characteristics and course of parenteral nutrition-associated cholestasis (PNAC) in very low birth weight (VLBW) infants. METHODS: The charts of VLBW infants were retrospectively reviewed. The clinical characteristics of infants with and without PNAC were compared, trends in liver enzymes were investigated, and the characteristics of infants with PNAC were analysed based on age of onset. RESULTS: PNAC was observed in 53 (13.2%) of 403 infants who survived and completed follow-up and was associated with significantly lower gestational age, birth weight, and adverse neonatal outcomes. PNAC started at a median 32 (interquartile range 23-47) days, PN was applied for 53 (34.5-64.5) days, the maximum direct bilirubin (DB) was observed at 63 (50-76) postnatal days, and PNAC resolved at 94 (79-122) postnatal days postnatal age. PNAC lasted 61 (38-89.5) days. AST and ALT normalised at 111 (100.3-142.0) and 109.5 (97-161.3) postnatal days. Infants with early-onset PNAC had significantly longer PN duration, higher maximum DB, and higher maximum AST than those with late-onset PNAC. CONCLUSION: Elevated DB, AST, and ALT persist for a long period after discontinuing PN. We suggest a cautious approach that involves waiting and reducing the frequency of additional repetitive examinations.

Sortase A (SrtA) is a cysteine transpeptidase that binds to the periplasmic membrane and plays a crucial role in attaching surface proteins, including staphylococcal protein A (SpA), to the peptidoglycan cell wall. Six pentacyclic polyketides (1-6) were isolated from the marine sponge Xestospongia sp., and their structures were elucidated using spectroscopic techniques and by comparing them to previously reported data. Among them, halenaquinol (2) was found to be the most potent SrtA inhibitor, with an IC50 of 13.94 µM (4.66 µg/mL). Semi-quantitative reverse transcription PCR data suggest that halenaquinol does not inhibit the transcription of srtA and spA, while Western blot analysis and immunofluorescence microscopy images suggest that it blocks the cell wall surface anchoring of SpA by inhibiting the activity of SrtA. The onset and magnitude of the inhibition of SpA anchoring on the cell wall surface in S. aureus that has been treated with halenaquinol at a value 8× that of the IC50 of SrtA are comparable to those for an srtA-deletion mutant. These findings contribute to the understanding of the mechanism by which marine-derived pentacyclic polyketides inhibit SrtA, highlighting their potential as anti-infective agents targeting S. aureus virulence.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), obesity (OB) and hypertension (HT) are categorized as metabolic disorders (MDs), which develop independently without distinct borders. Herein, we examined the gut microbiota (GM) and Saururus chinensis (SC) to confirm their therapeutic effects via integrated pharmacology. The overlapping targets from the four diseases were determined to be key protein coding genes. The protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks, and the SC, GM, signalling pathway, target and metabolite (SGSTM) networks were analysed via RPackage. Additionally, molecular docking tests (MDTs) and density functional theory (DFT) analysis were conducted to determine the affinity and stability of the conformer(s). TNF was the main target in the PPI analysis, and equol derived from Lactobacillus paracasei JS1 was the most effective agent for the formation of the TNF complex. The SC agonism (PPAR signalling pathway), and antagonism (neurotrophin signalling pathway) by SC were identified as agonistic bioactives (aromadendrane, stigmasta-5,22-dien-3-ol, 3,6,6-trimethyl-3,4,5,7,8,9-hexahydro-1H-2-benzoxepine, 4α-5α-epoxycholestane and kinic acid), and antagonistic bioactives (STK734327 and piclamilast), respectively, via MDT. Finally, STK734327-MAPK1 was the most favourable conformer according to DFT. Overall, the seven bioactives from SC and equol that can be produced by Lactobacillus paracasei JS1 can exert synergistic effects on these four diseases.

Despite many recent studies on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) therapeutics, the optimal treatment has yet to be determined. In this unfinished project, we combined secondary metabolites (SMs) from the gut microbiota (GM) and Hordeum vulgare (HV) to investigate their combinatorial effects via network pharmacology (NP). Additionally, we analyzed GM or barley - signalling pathways - targets - metabolites (GBSTMs) in combinatorial perspectives (HV, and GM). A total of 31 key targets were analysed via a protein-protein interaction (PPI) network, and JUN was identified as the uppermost target in NAFLD. On a bubble plot, we revealed that apelin signalling pathway, which had the lowest enrichment factor antagonize NAFLD. Holistically, we scrutinized GBSTM to identify key components (GM, signalling pathways, targets, and metabolites) associated with the Apelin signalling pathway. Consequently, we found that the primary GMs (Eubacterium limosum, Eggerthella sp. SDG-2, Alistipes indistinctus YIT 12060, Odoribacter laneus YIT 12061, Paraprevotella clara YIT 11840, Paraprevotella xylaniphila YIT 11841) to ameliorate NAFLD. The molecular docking test (MDT) suggested that tryptanthrin-JUN is an agonist, conversely, dihydroglycitein-HDAC5, 1,3-diphenylpropan-2-ol-NOS1, and (10[(Acetyloxy)methyl]-9-anthryl)methyl acetate-NOS2, which are antagonistic conformers in the apelin signalling pathway. Overall, these results suggest that combination therapy could be an effective strategy for treating NAFLD.

Serratiomycin (1) is an antibacterial cyclic depsipeptide, first discovered from a Eubacterium culture in 1998. This compound was initially reported to contain l-Leu, l-Ser, l-allo-Thr, d-Phe, d-Ile, and hydroxydecanoic acid. In the present study, 1 and three new derivatives, serratiomycin D1-D3 (2-4), were isolated from a Serratia sp. strain isolated from the exoskeleton of a long-horned beetle. The planar structures of 1-4 were elucidated by using mass spectrometry (MS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. Comparison of the NMR chemical shifts and the physicochemical data of 1 to those of previously reported serratiomycin indeed identified 1 as serratiomycin. The absolute configurations of the amino units in compounds 1-4 were determined by the advanced Marfey's method, 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-ß-d-glucopyranosyl isothiocyanate derivatization, and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometric (LC-MS) analysis. Additionally, methanolysis and the modified Mosher's method were used to determine the absolute configuration of (3R)-hydroxydecanoic acid in 1. Consequently, the revised structure of 1 was found to possess d-Leu, l-Ser, l-Thr, d-Phe, l-allo-Ile, and d-hydroxydecanoic acid. In comparison with the previously published structure of serratiomycin, l-Leu, l-allo-Thr, and d-Ile in serratiomycin were revised to d-Leu, l-Thr, and l-allo-Ile. The new members of the serratiomycin family, compounds 2 and 3, showed considerably higher antibacterial activities against Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella enterica than compound 1.

Persea americana fruit (PAF) is a favorable nutraceutical resource that comprises diverse unsaturated fatty acids (UFAs). UFAs are significant dietary supplementation, as they relieve metabolic disorders, including obesity (OB). In another aspect, this study was focused on the anti-OB efficacy of the non-fatty acids (NFAs) in PAF through network pharmacology (NP). Natural product activity & species source (NPASS), SwissADME, similarity ensemble approach (SEA), Swiss target prediction (STP), DisGeNET, and online Mendelian inheritance in man (OMIM) were utilized to gather significant molecules and its targets. The crucial targets were adopted to construct certain networks: protein-protein interaction (PPI), PAF-signaling pathways-targets-compounds (PSTC) networks, a bubble chart, molecular docking assay (MDA), and density function theory (DFT). Finally, the toxicities of the key compounds were validated by ADMETlab 2.0 platform. All 41 compounds in PAF conformed to Lipinski's rule, and the key 31 targets were identified between OB and PAF. On the bubble chart, PPAR signaling pathway had the highest rich factor, suggesting that the pathway might be an agonism for anti-OB. Conversely, estrogen signaling pathway had the lowest rich factor, indicating that the mechanism might be antagonism against OB. Likewise, the PSTC network represented that AKT1 had the greatest degree value. The MDA results showed that AKT1-gamma-tocopherol, PPARA-fucosterol, PPARD-stigmasterol, (PPARG)-fucosterol, (NR1H3)-campesterol, and ILK-alpha-tocopherol formed the most stable conformers. The DFT represented that the five molecules might be promising agents via multicomponent targeting. Overall, this study suggests that the NFAs in PAF might play important roles against OB.

A new polyol polyketide, named retinestatin (1), was obtained and characterized from the culture of a Streptomyces strain, which was isolated from a subterranean nest of the termite Reticulitermes speratus kyushuensis Morimoto. The planar structure of 1 was elucidated on the basis of the cumulative analysis of ultraviolet, infrared, mass spectrometry, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopic data. The absolute configuration of 1 at 12 chiral centers was successfully assigned by employing a J-based configuration analysis in combination with ROESY correlations, a quantum mechanics-based computational approach to calculate NMR chemical shifts, and a 3 min flash esterification by Mosher's reagents followed by NMR analysis. Biological evaluation of retinestatin (1) using an in vitro model of Parkinson's disease revealed that 1 protected SH-SY5Y dopaminergic cells from MPP+-induced cytotoxicity, indicating its neuroprotective effects.

A targeted metabologenomic method was developed to selectively discover terminal oxazole-bearing natural products from bacteria. For this, genes encoding oxazole cyclase, a key enzyme in terminal oxazole biosynthesis, were chosen as the genomic signature to screen bacterial strains that may produce oxazole-bearing compounds. Sixteen strains were identified from the screening of a bacterial DNA library (1,000 strains) using oxazole cyclase gene-targeting polymerase chain reaction (PCR) primers. The PCR amplicon sequences were subjected to phylogenetic analysis and classified into nine clades. 1H-13C coupled-HSQC NMR spectra obtained from the culture extracts of the hit strains enabled the unequivocal detection of the target compounds, including five new oxazole compounds, based on the unique 1JCH values and chemical shifts of oxazole: lenzioxazole (1) possessing an unprecedented cyclopentane, permafroxazole (2) bearing a tetraene conjugated with carboxylic acid, tenebriazine (3) incorporating two modified amino acids, and methyl-oxazolomycins A and B (4 and 5). Tenebriazine displayed inhibitory activity against pathogenic fungi, whereas methyl-oxazolomycins A and B (4 and 5) selectively showed anti-proliferative activity against estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer cells. This metabologenomic method enables the logical and efficient discovery of new microbial natural products with a target structural motif without the need for isotopic labeling.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is the most common chronic liver disease, and its prevalence has increased worldwide in recent years. Additionally, there is a close relationship between MASLD and gut microbiota-derived metabolites. However, the mechanisms of MASLD and its metabolites are still unclear. We demonstrated decreased indole-3-propionic acid (IPA) and indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) in the feces of patients with hepatic steatosis compared to healthy controls. Here, IPA and IAA administration ameliorated hepatic steatosis and inflammation in an animal model of WD-induced MASLD by suppressing the NF-κB signaling pathway through a reduction in endotoxin levels and inactivation of macrophages. Bifidobacterium bifidum metabolizes tryptophan to produce IAA, and B. bifidum effectively prevents hepatic steatosis and inflammation through the production of IAA. Our study demonstrates that IPA and IAA derived from the gut microbiota have novel preventive or therapeutic potential for MASLD treatment.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is characterized by selective and progressive neurodegenerative changes in motor neural networks. Given the system complexity, including anatomically distributed sites of degeneration from the motor cortex to the spinal cord and chronic pro-inflammatory conditions, a cell-based therapeutic strategy could be an alternative approach to treating ALS. Lessons from previous mesenchymal stromal/stem cell (MSC) trials in ALS realized the importance of 3 aspects in current and future MSC therapy, including the preparation of MSCs, administration routes and methods, and recipient-related factors. This review briefly describes the current status and future prerequisites for an optimal strategy using bone-marrow-originated MSCs to treat ALS. We suggest mandatory factors in the optimized therapeutic strategy focused on advanced therapy medicinal products produced according to Good Manufacturing Practice, an optimal administration method, the selection of proper patients, and the importance of biomarkers.

BACKGROUND AND AIM: The prevalence and severity of alcoholic liver disease (ALD) are increasing. The incidence of alcohol-related cirrhosis has risen up to 2.5%. This study aimed to identify novel metabolite mechanisms involved in the development of ALD in patients. The use of gut microbiome-derived metabolites is increasing in targeted therapies. Identifying metabolic compounds is challenging due to the complex patterns that have long-term effects on ALD. We investigated the specific metabolite signatures in ALD patients. METHODS: This study included 247 patients (heathy control, HC: n = 62, alcoholic fatty liver, AFL; n = 25, alcoholic hepatitis, AH; n = 80, and alcoholic cirrhosis, AC, n = 80) identified, and stool samples were collected. 16S rRNA sequencing and metabolomics were performed with MiSeq sequencer and liquid chromatography coupled to time-of-flight-mass spectrometry (LC-TOF-MS), respectively. The untargeted metabolites in AFL, AH, and AC samples were evaluated by multivariate statistical analysis and metabolic pathotypic expression. Metabolic network classifiers were used to predict the pathway expression of the AFL, AH, and AC stages. RESULTS: The relative abundance of Proteobacteria was increased and the abundance of Bacteroides was decreased in ALD samples (p = 0.001) compared with that in HC samples. Fusobacteria levels were higher in AH samples (p = 0.0001) than in HC samples. Untargeted metabolomics was applied to quantitatively screen 103 metabolites from each stool sample. Indole-3-propionic acid levels are significantly lower in AH and AC (vs. HC, p = 0.001). Indole-3-lactic acid (ILA: p = 0.04) levels were increased in AC samples. AC group showed an increase in indole-3-lactic acid (vs. HC, p = 0.040) level. Compared with that in HC samples, the levels of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs: acetic acid, butyric acid, propionic acid, iso-butyric acid, and iso-valeric acid) and bile acids (lithocholic acids) were significantly decreased in AC. The pathways of linoleic acid metabolism, indole compounds, histidine metabolism, fatty acid degradation, and glutamate metabolism were closely associated with ALD metabolism. CONCLUSIONS: This study identified that microbial metabolic dysbiosis is associated with ALD-related metabolic dysfunction. The SCFAs, bile acids, and indole compounds were depleted during ALD progression. CLINICAL TRIAL: Clinicaltrials.gov, number NCT04339725.

This study investigated novel quantitative traits loci (QTLs) associated with the control of grain shape and size as well as grain weight in rice. We employed a joint-strategy multiple GAPIT (Genome Association and Prediction Integrated Tool) models [(Bayesian-information and Linkage-disequilibrium Iteratively Nested Keyway (BLINK)), Fixed and random model Circulating Probability Uniform (FarmCPU), Settlement of MLM Under Progressive Exclusive Relationship (SUPER), and General Linear Model (GLM)]-High-Density SNP Chip DNA Markers (60,461) to conduct a Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS). GWAS was performed using genotype and grain-related phenotypes of 143 recombinant inbred lines (RILs). Data show that parental lines (Ilpum and Tung Tin Wan Hein 1, TTWH1, Oryza sativa L., ssp. japonica and indica, respectively) exhibited divergent phenotypes for all analyzed grain traits), which was reflected in their derived population. GWAS results revealed the association between seven SNP Chip makers and QTLs for grain length, co-detected by all GAPIT models on chromosomes (Chr) 1-3, 5, 7, and 11, were qGL1-1BFSG (AX-95918134, Chr1: 3,820,526 bp) explains 65.2-72.5% of the phenotypic variance explained (PVE). In addition, qGW1-1BFSG (AX-273945773, Chr1: 5,623,288 bp) for grain width explains 15.5-18.9% of PVE. Furthermore, BLINK or FarmCPU identified three QTLs for grain thickness independently, and explain 74.9% (qGT1Blink, AX-279261704, Chr1: 18,023,142 bp) and 54.9% (qGT2-1Farm, AX-154787777, Chr2: 2,118,477 bp) of the observed PVE. For the grain length-to-width ratio (LWR), the qLWR2BFSG (AX-274833045, Chr2: 10,000,097 bp) explains nearly 15.2-32% of the observed PVE. Likewise, the major QTL for thousand-grain weight (TGW) was detected on Chr6 (qTGW6BFSG, AX-115737727, 28,484,619 bp) and explains 32.8-54% of PVE. The qTGW6BFSG QTL coincides with qGW6-1Blink for grain width and explained 32.8-54% of PVE. Putative candidate genes pooled from major QTLs for each grain trait have interesting annotated functions that require functional studies to elucidate their function in the control of grain size, shape, or weight in rice. Genome selection analysis proposed makers useful for downstream marker-assisted selection based on genetic merit of RILs.

This study employed a joint strategy high-density SNP Chip DNA markers and multiple Genome Association and Prediction Integrated Tool (GAPIT) models [(Bayesian-information and Linkage-disequilibrium Iteratively Nested Keyway (BLINK), Fixed and random model Circulating Probability Uniform (FarmCPU), General Linear Model (GLM), and Settlement of Mixed Linear Model (MLM) Under Progressively Exclusive Relationship (SUPER)], to investigate novel genetic factors controlling mesocotyl elongation and seedling emergence for direct-seeded rice. Genotype data (230,526 SNP Chip DNA makers) of 117 doubled haploid lines (derived from a cross between 93-11 (Oryza sativa L. ssp. indica) and Milyang352 (O. sativa L. ssp. japonica) were used to perform a Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS). Results revealed the association between five (5) topmost significant SNP markers, of which number two [AX-155741269, Chr2: 15422406 bp, and AX-155200917, Chr7: 23814085 bp, explaining 37.5% and 13.8% of the phenotypic variance explained (PVE)] are linked to the mesocotyl elongation loci, while three (AX-282097034 and AX-283652873, Chr9: 9882817 bp and 1023383 bp, PVE 64.5%, and 20.2%, respectively, and AX-154356231, Chr1: 17413989 bp, PVE 21.1%) are tightly linked to the loci controlling seedling emergence. The qMEL2-1 and qSEM9-1 are identified as major QTLs explaining 37.5% and 64.5% of the PVE for mesocotyl elongation and seedling emergence, respectively. The AX-282097034 (Chr9: 9882817 bp) was co-detected by four GAPIT models (BLINK, FarmCPU, SUPER, and GLM), while AX-155741269 was co-detected by BLINK and SUPER. Furthermore, a high estimated heritability (Mesocotyl elongation: h2 = 0.955; seedling emergence: h2 = 0.863; shoot length: h2 = 0.707) was observed. Genes harbored by qMEL2-1 and qSEM9-1 have interesting annotated molecular functions that could be investigated through functional studies to uncover their roles during mesocotyl elongation and seedling emergence events in rice. Furthermore, the presence of genes encoding transcription factors, growth- and stress response, or signaling-related genes would suggest that mesocotyl elongation and seedling emergence from deep direct-seeded rice might involve an active signaling cascade and transport of molecules, which could be elucidated through functional analysis. Likewise, genomic selection analysis suggested markers useful for downstream marker-assisted selection (MAS).

The TARDBP gene variant is a known major cause of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), with limited reports of Korean patients with ALS harboring the variants in TARDBP. This large cohort study introduces four ALS patients who share the p.M337V variant of the TARDBP, allowing for an investigation of clinical characteristics and prognosis by analyzing previously reported cases with the same variant. From November 2014 to August 2022, participants were recruited from two tertiary hospitals in Seoul, Korea. Clinical characteristics of patients diagnosed with ALS carrying the variant in TARDBP were evaluated. Previous articles demonstrating subjects' characteristics were reviewed. Four patients were identified with the pathogenic missense variant (c.1009A>G; p.M337V) in the TARDBP. The mean age of onset was 55 years old, and none of the patients showed severe cognitive impairment. Sixty-three patients carrying the p.M337V variant in TARDBP from this study and previous reports delineated young age of onset (51.6 years), high frequency of bulbar onset patients (61.9%), and low comorbidity of frontotemporal dementia. This study reveals the presence of pathogenic variant of TARDBP in Korea and emphasizes the importance of genetic screening of the TARDBP gene, in diagnosing ALS and evaluating prognosis among familial and simplex ALS patients in Korea.

BACKGROUND: Crop breeding should be accelerated to address global warming and climate change. Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is a major food crop. Speed breeding (SB) and speed vernalization (SV) techniques for spring and winter wheat have recently been established. However, there are few practical examples of these strategies being used economically and efficiently in breeding programs. We aimed to establish and evaluate the performance of a breeder-friendly and energy-saving generation acceleration system by modifying the SV + SB system. RESULTS: In this study, a four-generation advancement system for wheat (regardless of its growth habits) was established and evaluated using an energy-efficient extended photoperiod treatment. A glasshouse with a 22-hour photoperiod that used 10 h of natural sunlight and 12 h of LED lights, and minimized temperature control during the winter season, was successful in accelerating generation. Even with one or two field tests, modified speed breeding (mSB) combined with a speed vernalization system (SV + mSB) reduced breeding time by more than half compared to traditional field-based methods. When compared to the existing SV + SB system, the SV + mSB system reduced energy use by 80% to maintain a 22-hour photoperiod. Significant correlations were found between the SV + mSB and field conditions in the number of days to heading (DTH) and culm length (CL). Genetic resources, recombinant inbred lines, and breeding materials that exhibited shorter DTH and CL values under SV + mSB conditions showed the same pattern in the field. CONCLUSIONS: The results of our SV + mSB model, as well as its practical application in wheat breeding programs, are expected to help breeders worldwide incorporate generation acceleration systems into their conventional breeding programs.

The liver is rich in innate immune cells, such as natural killer (NK) cells, natural killer T cells, and Kupffer cells associated with the gut microbiome. These immune cells are dysfunctional owing to alcohol consumption. However, there is insufficient data on the association between immune cells and gut microbiome in alcoholic liver disease (ALD). Therefore, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of probiotic strains on NK cells in ALD patients. In total, 125 human blood samples [control (n = 22), alcoholic hepatitis (n = 43), and alcoholic cirrhosis (n = 60]) were collected for flow cytometric analysis. C57BL/6J mice were divided into four groups (normal, EtOH-fed, and 2 EtOH+strain groups [Phocaeicola dorei and Lactobacillus helveticus]). Lymphocytes isolated from mouse livers were analyzed using flow cytometry. The frequency of NK cells increased in patients with alcoholic hepatitis and decreased in patients with alcoholic cirrhosis. The expression of NKp46, an NK cell-activating receptor, was decreased in patients with alcoholic hepatitis and increased in patients with alcoholic cirrhosis compared to that in the control group. The number of cytotoxic CD56dimCD16+ NK cells was significantly reduced in patients with alcoholic cirrhosis. We tested the effect of oral administration P. dorei and L. helveticus in EtOH-fed mice. P. dorei and L. helveticus improved liver inflammation and intestinal barrier damage caused by EtOH supply and increased NK cell activity. Therefore, these observations suggest that the gut microbiome may ameliorate ALD by regulating immune cells.

BACKGRUOUND: Coronary artery calcium score (CACS) has become an important tool for evaluating cardiovascular disease (CVD). This study evaluated the significance of CACS for future CVD through more than 10 years of follow-up in asymptomatic Korean populations with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) known to have a relatively low CACS burden. METHODS: We enrolled 981 asymptomatic T2DM patients without CVD at baseline who underwent CACS evaluation using multidetector computed tomography between January 2008 and December 2014. They were grouped into five predefined CACS categories based on Agatston scores and followed up by August 2020. The primary endpoint was incident CVD events, including coronary, cerebrovascular, and peripheral arterial disease. RESULTS: The relative risk of CVD was significantly higher in patients with CACS ≥10, and the significance persisted after adjustment for known confounders. A higher CACS category indicated a higher incidence of future CVD: hazard ratio (95% confidence interval) 4.09 (1.79 to 9.36), 12.00 (5.61 to 25.69), and 38.79 (16.43 to 91.59) for 10≤ CACS <100, 100≤ CACS <400, and CACS ≥400, respectively. During the 12-year follow-up period, the difference in event-free survival more than doubled as the category increased. Patients with CACS below 10 had very low CVD incidence throughout the follow-up. The receiver operating characteristic analysis showed better area under curve when the CACS cutoff was 10 than 100. CONCLUSION: CACS can be a sensitive marker of CVD risk. Specifically, CACS above 10 is an indicator of CVD high-risk requiring more intensive medical treatment in Koreans with T2DM.
