RESUMO

The author describes the clinical picture and course of candida infection of the skin and mucous membranes in 176 patients with chronic dermatoses (eczema, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis). Several patients (9%) showed torpid, atypical manifestations of candidosis, often masqueraded by other skin pathology. It was established that Candida infection is one of the causes of long-term, torpid course and increase of number of recurrences of the main dermatosis, development of a polymorphous clinical picture and mycogenous sensibilization. There was also a reverse relationship: chronization of the Candida process and prolonged elimination of the pathogen, insufficient efficacy of anticandidosis treatment. This dictates the necessity of detailed examination of patients with chronic dermatoses and mycological check-up with the purpose of modern diagnosis and treatment of candidosis of the skin and mucous membranes.

RESUMO

Clinical, electrophysiologic and immunologic study of 113 patients with oil folliculitis was carried out. High electric resistance of hair follicles was established along with some immunologic shifts, i.e., a decrease of the general number of T-lymphocytes in peripheric blood and of the level of G and A immunoglobulins, an increase of the CIC content. On the basis of the obtained data clinical species of oil folliculitis characteristic of the initial and late disease stages were determined. A complex of clinical, electrophysiologic and immunologic signs aimed at raising accuracy and objectivity of oil folliculitis diagnosis was proposed.

RESUMO

Clinical and laboratory examinations of 250 patients with chronic dermatoses (eczema, neurodermatitis, psoriasis, pemphigus, etc.) have revealed secondary candidal involvement of the skin and mucosa in 121 (46.6%). C. albicans, often associated with bacillary (33.3%) or bacterial (7.3%) microflora, predominated among the yeast-like fungi isolated from the patients. These data point to the necessity of prescribing, besides the antimycotic agents, a complex of pathogenetic therapy including immunomodulators, in order to cut down the terms of treatment and prevent secondary candidal infection in the patients with chronic dermatoses.
