RESUMO

Epigenetic mechanisms bridge genetic and environmental factors that contribute to the pathogenesis of major depression disorder (MDD). However, the cellular specificity and sensitivity of environmental stress on brain epitranscriptomics and its impact on depression remain unclear. Here, we found that ALKBH5, an RNA demethylase of N6-methyladenosine (m6A), was increased in MDD patients' blood and depression models. ALKBH5 in astrocytes was more sensitive to stress than that in neurons and endothelial cells. Selective deletion of ALKBH5 in astrocytes, but not in neurons and endothelial cells, produced antidepressant-like behaviors. Astrocytic ALKBH5 in the mPFC regulated depression-related behaviors bidirectionally. Meanwhile, ALKBH5 modulated glutamate transporter-1 (GLT-1) m6A modification and increased the expression of GLT-1 in astrocytes. ALKBH5 astrocyte-specific knockout preserved stress-induced disruption of glutamatergic synaptic transmission, neuronal atrophy and defective Ca2+ activity. Moreover, enhanced m6A modification with S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe) produced antidepressant-like effects. Our findings indicate that astrocytic epitranscriptomics contribute to depressive-like behaviors and that astrocytic ALKBH5 may be a therapeutic target for depression.

BACKGROUND: Pharmacotherapy is one of the primary treatment modalities for depression. However, there is considerable variability in the individual response to antidepressant medications. Personalized medicine guided by pharmacogenomic testing may hold promise in addressing this issue. METHODS: In this study, 665 depressive patients were randomly enrolled into two groups: the pharmacogenomic testing group (n = 333) and the control group (n = 332). In the testing group, participants underwent pharmacogenomic testing, and clinicians customized the treatment plan with the result, while the control group relied solely on clinicians' experience. The primary outcomes were the proportion of remission and response, assessed with Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HDRS). The secondary outcomes included changes in HDRS scores over time and frequency of adverse drug reactions by the participants. RESULTS: At week 8, the pharmacogenomic testing group showed significantly higher remission rates (24.0 % v.s. 15.1 %; RR = 1.117; P = 0.007) and response rates (39.3 % v.s. 25.7 %; RR = 1.225; P < 0.001) compared to the control group. By week 12, the pharmacogenomic testing group continued to demonstrate significant advantages in remission (31.0 % v.s. 20.0 %; RR = 1.159; P = 0.003) and response (48.7 % v.s. 37.3 %; RR = 1.224; P = 0.006). Additionally, adverse drug reactions were less frequent in the pharmacogenomic testing group. LIMITATIONS: This study is not blind to clinicians and it's a single-center study. CONCLUSIONS: Pharmacogenomic testing-guided drug therapy can provide greater assistance in the treatment of depression.

Purine nucleoside ester is one of the derivatives of purine nucleoside, which has antiviral and anticancer activities. In this work, a continuous flow synthesis of purine nucleoside esters catalyzed by lipase TL IM from Thermomyces lanuginosus was successfully achieved. Various parameters including solvent, reaction temperature, reaction time/flow rate and substrate ratio were investigated. The best yields were obtained with a continuous flow microreactor for 35 min at 50 °C with the substrate ratio of 1 : 5 (nucleosides to vinyl esters) in the solvent of tert-amyl alcohol. 12 products were efficiently synthesized with yields of 78-93%. Here we reported for the first time the use of lipase TL IM from Thermomyces lanuginosus in the synthesis of purine nucleoside esters. The significant advantages of this methodology are a green solvent and mild conditions, a simple work-up procedure and the highly reusable biocatalyst. This research provides a new technique for rapid synthesis of anticancer and antiviral nucleoside drugs and is helpful for further screening of drug activity.

Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) are a population of heterogeneous immune cells that are involved in precancerous conditions and neoplasms. The autonomic nervous system (ANS), which is composed of the sympathetic nervous system and the parasympathetic nervous system, is an important component of the tumor microenvironment that responds to changes in the internal and external environment mainly through adrenergic and cholinergic signaling. An abnormal increase of autonomic nerve density has been associated with cancer progression. As we discuss in this review, growing evidence indicates that sympathetic and parasympathetic signals directly affect the expansion, mobilization, and redistribution of MDSCs. Dysregulated autonomic signaling recruits MDSCs to form an immunosuppressive microenvironment in chronically inflamed tissues, resulting in abnormal proliferation and differentiation of adult stem cells. The two components of the ANS may also be responsible for the seemingly contradictory behaviors of MDSCs. Elucidating the underlying mechanisms has the potential to provide more insights into the complex roles of MDSCs in tumor development and lay the foundation for the development of novel MDSC-targeted anticancer strategies.

Biologically-controlled mineralization producing organic-inorganic composites (hard skeletons) by metazoan biomineralizers has been an evolutionary innovation since the earliest Cambrian. Among them, linguliform brachiopods are one of the key invertebrates that secrete calcium phosphate minerals to build their shells. One of the most distinct shell structures is the organo-phosphatic cylindrical column exclusive to phosphatic-shelled brachiopods, including both crown and stem groups. However, the complexity, diversity, and biomineralization processes of these microscopic columns are far from clear in brachiopod ancestors. Here, exquisitely well-preserved columnar shell ultrastructures are reported for the first time in the earliest eoobolids Latusobolus xiaoyangbaensis gen. et sp. nov. and Eoobolus acutulus sp. nov. from the Cambrian Series 2 Shuijingtuo Formation of South China. The hierarchical shell architectures, epithelial cell moulds, and the shape and size of cylindrical columns are scrutinised in these new species. Their calcium phosphate-based biomineralized shells are mainly composed of stacked sandwich columnar units. The secretion and construction of the stacked sandwich model of columnar architecture, which played a significant role in the evolution of linguliforms, is highly biologically controlled and organic-matrix mediated. Furthermore, a continuous transformation of anatomic features resulting from the growth of diverse columnar shells is revealed between Eoobolidae, Lingulellotretidae, and Acrotretida, shedding new light on the evolutionary growth and adaptive innovation of biomineralized columnar architecture among early phosphatic-shelled brachiopods during the Cambrian explosion.

Understanding how distinct functional circuits are coordinated to fine-tune mood and behavior is of fundamental importance. Here, we observe that within the dense projections from basolateral amygdala (BLA) to bed nucleus of stria terminalis (BNST), there are two functionally opposing pathways orchestrated to enable contextually appropriate expression of anxiety-like behaviors in male mice. Specifically, the anterior BLA neurons predominantly innervate the anterodorsal BNST (adBNST), while their posterior counterparts send massive fibers to oval BNST (ovBNST) with moderate to adBNST. Optogenetic activation of the anterior and posterior BLA inputs oppositely regulated the activity of adBNST neurons and anxiety-like behaviors, via disengaging and engaging the inhibitory ovBNST-to-adBNST microcircuit, respectively. Importantly, the two pathways exhibited synchronized but opposite responses to both anxiolytic and anxiogenic stimuli, partially due to their mutual inhibition within BLA and the different inputs they receive. These findings reveal synergistic interactions between two BLA-to-BNST pathways for appropriate anxiety expression with ongoing environmental demands.

The global spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) A (H5N1) clade 2.3.4.4b virus since 2021 necessitates a re-evaluation of the role of vaccination in controlling HPAI outbreaks among poultry, which has been controversial because of the concern of silent spread with viral mutation and spillover to human. We systematically reviewed and meta-analyzed all existing data from experimental challenge trials to assess the efficacy of HPAI vaccines against mortality in specific pathogen free (SPF) chickens, with evaluation of the certainty of evidence (CoE) using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) approach. Out of 223 screened publications, 46 trials met our eligibility criteria. Inactivated vaccines showed an efficacy of 95% (risk ratio [RR] = 5% [95% CI: 1% to 17%], I2 = 0%, CoE high) against homologous strains and an efficacy of 78% (RR = 22% [95% CI: 14% to 37%], I2 = 18%, CoE high) against heterologous strains (test for subgroup difference p = 0.02). Live recombinant vaccines exhibited the highest efficacy at 97% (RR = 3% [95% CI: 1% to 13%], I2 = 0%, CoE high). Inactivated recombinant vaccines had an overall efficacy of 90% (RR = 10% [95% CI: 6% to 16%], I2 = 47%, CoE high). Commercial vaccines showed an overall efficacy of 91% (RR = 9% [95% CI: 5% to 17%], I2 = 23%, CoE high), with 96% efficacy (RR = 4% [95% CI: 1% to 21%], I2 = 0%, CoE high) against homologous strains and 90% efficacy (RR = 10% [95% CI: 5% to 20%], I2 = 31%, CoE moderate) against heterologous strains. Our systematic review offers an updated and unbiased assessment of vaccine efficacy against HPAI-related mortality, providing timely and crucial information for re-evaluating the role of vaccination in poultry avian influenza control policy amist the global HPAI outbreak post-2021.

Personality disorders (PDs) are associated with an inferior quality of life, poor health, and premature mortality, leading to heavy clinical, familial, and societal burdens. The International Classification of Diseases-11 (ICD-11) makes a thorough, dramatic paradigm shift from the categorical to dimensional diagnosis of PD and expands the application into adolescence. We have reviewed the recent literature on practical implications, and severity and trait measures of ICD-11 defined PDs, by comparing with the alternative model of personality disorders in the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), by mentioning the relevance in forensic and social concerns, and by referencing the developmental implication of life span, especially in adolescence. Study results strongly support the dimensional utility of ICD-11 PD diagnosis and application in adolescence which warrants early detection and intervention. More evidence-based research is needed along the ICD-11 PD application, such as its social relevance, measurement simplification, and longitudinal design of lifespan observation and treatment.

Monochromatic light-illuminated active-imaging stereo-digital image correlation (stereo-DIC) has been extensively used for measuring the surface deformation of materials and structures at elevated temperatures. Despite the improvements in the image acquisition techniques or devices, it is still challenging to measure the 3D deformation of materials and structures in the presence of strong, time-varying ambient light and thermal radiation. In this study, we present what we believe to be a novel dual-filtering single-camera stereo-DIC technique for full-field 3D high-temperature deformation measurement, even in the case of extremely intense ambient light and thermal radiation. In contrast to conventional active-imaging stereo-DIC that only suppresses the thermal radiations in the spectral domain, the proposed technique utilized a dual-filtering strategy (i.e., narrow bandpass optical filtering and ultrashort exposing) to suppress the strong ambient light and thermal radiation in both time and spectral domains. Besides, a four-mirror adapter is adopted to realize 3D shape and deformation measurement using a compact single time-gated camera. Experimental verifications, including assessments with laboratory experiments and validations on real thermal deformation tests under transient aerodynamic heating and direct ohmic heating, convincingly demonstrated that the proposed single-camera dual-filtering stereo-DIC method can achieve accurate 3D shape, motion and deformation measurement, even with strong light and thermal radiation from the quartz lamps and the heated sample.

An increasing number of studies have shown that many nicotinamide derivatives exhibited extensive biological activities, such as anti-inflammatory and antitumor activity. In this paper, a green, concise synthesis of nicotinamide derivatives in sustainable continuous-flow microreactors catalysed by Novozym® 435 from Candida antarctica has been developed. Application of an easily obtainable and reusable lipase in the synthesis of nicotinamide derivatives from methyl nicotinate and amines/benzylamines reacted for 35 min at 50 °C led to high product yields (81.6-88.5%). Environmentally friendly tert-amyl alcohol was applied as a reaction medium. Substantially shorter reaction times as well as a significant increase in the product yield were obtained as compared to the batch process. This innovative approach provides a promising green, efficient and rapid synthesis strategy for pharmaceutical synthesis and further activity research of novel nicotinamide derivatives.

Background: Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) and depression often co-occur among adolescents with more severe clinical symptoms. This study examined the network structures of NSSI and depressive symptoms in adolescents. Methods: Participants were recruited in the psychiatric outpatient clinics of three tertiary hospitals between April 10 and July 10, 2023. All participants been already found with self-injury behaviors in outpatient when enrolled. NSSI diagnostic criteria and Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) were utilized to collect NSSI and depressive symptoms separately. We performed a network analysis to visualize the correlation between each symptom and to identify core and bridging symptoms in comorbidities. Results: A total of 248 patients were enrolled in the study, with a mean age of 15.48 (SD = 1.62). Based on the PHQ-9 scores and grades, our results showed that the incidence of depression in adolescents with non-suicidal self-injury behavior was relatively high (N=235, 94.76%), with the majority having severe depression. The network analysis revealed that nodes D-6 "feeling bad, failing or letting yourself or your family down", D-1 "little interest or pleasure" and D-4 "feeling tired" were the most vital and most central symptoms. The most crucial bridging symptom is the node NSSI-8 "frequent thinking about self-injury", which connects the NSSI to the depression comorbid network. Conclusion: This study offers a significant symptom-level conceptualization of the association between NSSI and depressive symptoms in a clinical sample of adolescents, which not only enhances our understanding of the comorbid but also identifies potential treatment targets to prevent and treat comorbidity between adolescent NSSI and depression.

Choledochojejunostomy has been common surgical treatment of biliary tract disease. Scar formation at anastomotic often results in postoperative complications associated with bleak post-operative recovery, in which local inflammation may be a potential target to modulate local scar formation. This study investigated the effect of regulatory B10 cells on local scar formation through interleukin-10 signal pathway following Roux-en-Y choledochojejunostomy (RCJS) in a novel rat model. Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats with RCJS were randomly divided into blank group, experimental group, IL-10 blocking group, control group, and received different interventions and duration. Injected through dorsal vein of penis, rats in different groups were treated respectively according to scheme. These interventions were performed during surgery, on 1st day, and 2nd day after surgery. Related indexes, including blood examination, specimen tissue of anastomotic detection, were recorded and compared in different interventional groups. Rats in experimental groups had more rapid recovery in liver function and inflammatory index, and higher in IL-10 level. Flow cytometry analysis showed that rats in experimental groups had highest content of B10 cells and lowest content of CD4+CD25- T cells in peripheral blood. Wider anastomotic by macroscopical observation, and slighter proliferation of collagen fiber and smooth muscle fiber, lower α-SMA and TGF-ß1 levels by pathological staining were detected in experimental groups. Higher expression of the IL-10 gene and lower expression of TGF-ß1 at anastomotic were detected in experimental groups. B10 cells may relieve local inflammation of anastomotic following RCJS in rats through IL-10-dependent modulatory effect, and improve local scar formation.

Reliable and accurate full-field deformation measurements at elevated temperatures using digital image correlation (DIC) require stable and high-contrast high-temperature speckle patterns to be prepared on the sample surface. However, conventional high-temperature speckle patterns fabricated by the existing methods possess several limitations, e.g., easily fail to preserve original pattern features due to the harsh environment and heavily dependent on the operator's experience. In this study, we propose a reliable and reproducible high-temperature speckle fabrication method based on air plasma spraying (APS) and flexible speckle templates. This method involves covering the sample surface with pre-designed speckle templates and then spraying the melted speckle powders onto the specimen surface using an air plasma spray technique to obtain customized speckle patterns. The validity of the proposed method was verified by the speckle fabrication on both planar and curved samples and heating tests with these samples. Experimental results demonstrate that the speckle patterns made by the proposed method adhere well to the sample surface, remain stable during the heating process, and exhibit excellent agreement with the reference values in terms of the thermal expansion coefficients. The proposed method provides a reliable and efficient way to create customized and stable speckle patterns for accurate high-temperature DIC measurements.

Blood-brain barrier (BBB) function deteriorates during aging, contributing to cognitive impairment and neurodegeneration. It is unclear what drives BBB leakage in aging and how it can be prevented. Using single-nucleus transcriptomics, we identified decreased connexin 43 (CX43) expression in cadherin-5+ (Cdh5+) cerebral vascular cells in naturally aging mice and confirmed it in human brain samples. Global or Cdh5+ cell-specific CX43 deletion in mice exacerbated BBB dysfunction during aging. The CX43-dependent effect was not due to its canonical gap junction function but was associated with reduced NAD+ levels and mitochondrial dysfunction through NAD+-dependent sirtuin 3 (SIRT3). CX43 interacts with and negatively regulates poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP1). Pharmacologic inhibition of PARP1 by olaparib or nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) supplementation rescued NAD+ levels and alleviated aging-associated BBB leakage. These findings establish the endothelial CX43-PARP1-NAD+ pathway's role in vascular aging and identify a potential therapeutic strategy to combat aging-associated BBB leakage with neuroprotective implications.

One of the most sought-after topics in neuroscience is to understand how the environment regulates the activity and function of neural circuitry and subsequently influences relevant behaviors. In response to alterations in the environment, the neural circuits undergo adaptive changes ranging from gene expression changes to altered cellular function. Performing sequencing of the transcriptome involved in these behavior-related circuits will provide clues to accurately dissect the detailed mechanisms of related behavior. Here, we describe methods for marking and collecting the ventral hippocampus-projecting basolateral amygdala neurons, which have been repeatedly implicated in regulation of anxiety-like behavior, and subsequently constructing a library ready for sequencing. Specifically, the reported approaches include adeno-associated virus injection, acute brain slice isolation, cell suspension preparation, cell extraction, and cDNA library construction. By utilizing the techniques described here, researchers can comprehensively investigate the transcriptional levels of neural clusters embedded in particular circuits and discover potential pathogenic and therapeutic targets for behavior-relevant disorders. © 2023 Wiley Periodicals LLC. Allogeneic blood vessels are regarded as one of the best natural substitutes for diseased blood vessels due to their good vascular compliance and histocompatibility. Since the supply and demand of allograft blood vessels do not always match in time and space, a good preservation scheme for isolated blood vessels is essential. The abdominal aortas of 110 male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into three groups, including cold storage group (4°C) (CSG), frozen storage group (FSG) and ambient storage group (25 ± 2°C) (ASG). Seven time points of preservation for 1, 3, 5, 7, 14, 30 and 90 days were set for detection. The changes in vascular physiological function were evaluated by MTT test and vasoconstriction ability detection, and the changes in vascular wall structure were evaluated by the tension tolerance test and pathological staining. The vascular function of CSG was better than FSG within first the 7 days, but the result was opposite since the 14th day. The vascular wall structure, collagen and elastic fibres of vessels, in CSG, showed oedema within 30 days, and continuous disintegration and rupture at 90 days. The vessel wall structure of FSG remained intact within 90 days. The tensile strength of the vessels in CSG was better than that in FSG within 5 days, and there was no statistical difference between the two groups between the 7th and 30th day, and then, the FSG was higher than CSG on the 90th day. Both cold storage and frozen storage could be applied as safe and effective preservation schemes for isolated rat artery within first 30 days. Cold storage is recommended when the storage time is <14 days, and then, frozen storage is better.

Increasing evidence indicates that an altered immune system is closely linked to the pathophysiology of anxiety disorders, and inhibition of neuroinflammation may represent an effective therapeutic strategy to treat anxiety disorders. Harmine, a beta-carboline alkaloid in various medicinal plants, has been widely reported to display anti-inflammatory and potentially anxiolytic effects. However, the exact underlying mechanisms are not fully understood. Our recent study has demonstrated that dysregulation of neuroplasticity in the basolateral amygdala (BLA) contributes to the pathological processes of inflammation-related anxiety. In this study, using a mouse model of anxiety challenged with Escherichia coli lipopolysaccharide (LPS), we found that harmine alleviated LPS-induced anxiety-like behaviors in mice. Mechanistically, harmine significantly prevented LPS-induced neuroinflammation by suppressing the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines including IL-1ß and TNF-α. Meanwhile, ex vivo whole-cell slice electrophysiology combined with optogenetics showed that LPS-induced increase of medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC)-driven excitatory but not inhibitory synaptic transmission onto BLA projection neurons, thereby alleviating LPS-induced shift of excitatory/inhibitory balance towards excitation. In addition, harmine attenuated the increased intrinsic neuronal excitability of BLA PNs by reducing the medium after-hyperpolarization. In conclusion, our findings provide new evidence that harmine may exert its anxiolytic effect by downregulating LPS-induced neuroinflammation and restoring the changes in neuronal plasticity in BLA PNs.

Background: The preoperative prognostic nutritional index (PNI) is an indicator of systemic immune-nutritional condition and is a well-known prognostic biomarker in cancer patients. This study aims to reflect the correlation between the preoperative PNI and prognosis in patients with borderline resectable pancreatic cancer (BRPC) after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD). Methods: Medical records of patients with BRPC after PD between Jan 2011 and Dec 2021 in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. The preoperative PNI was calculated, and the receiver operating characteristic curve was obtained based on the preoperative PNI and the 1-year survival rate. Patients were divided into two groups (High-PNI and Low-PNI) following the best cut-off value of the preoperative PNI, and demographic and pathologic findings were compared between the two groups. Univariate and multivariate analysis were performed to identify risk factors in recurrence and long-term survival. Results: The best cut-off value for the preoperative PNI was 44.6 (sensitivity: 62.46%; specificity: 83.33%; area under the curve: 0.724). Patients in the low-PNI group had significantly shorter recurrence-free survival (P=0.008) and overall survival (P=0.009). The preoperative PNI (P=0.009) and lymph node metastasis (P=0.04) were independent risk factors for tumor recurrence. The preoperative PNI (P=0.001), lymph node metastasis (P=0.04), neoadjuvant chemotherapy (P=0.04) were independent risk factors for long-term survival in patients. Conclusion: The preoperative PNI, lymph node metastasis, neoadjuvant chemotherapy were independent risk factors for recurrence and long-term survival in patients with BRPC. The preoperative PNI might be an indicator that can predict BRPC patients' recurrence and survival. Patients with high-PNI would benefit from neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

Background: Understanding the spatial heterogeneity of the tumor microenvironment (TME) in pancreatic cancer (PC) remains challenging. Methods: In this study, we performed spatial transcriptomics (ST) to investigate the gene expression features across one normal pancreatic tissue, PC tissue, adjacent tumor tissue, and tumor stroma. We divided 18,075 spatial spots into 22 clusters with t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding based on gene expression profiles. The biological functions and signaling pathways involved in each cluster were analyzed with gene set enrichment analysis. Results: The results revealed that KRT13+FABP5+ malignant cell subpopulation had keratinization characteristics in the tumor tissue. Fibroblasts from adjacent tumor tissue exhibited a tumor-inhibiting role such as "B-cell activation" and "positive regulation of leukocyte activation." The FGG+CRP+ inflammatory cancer-associated fibroblasts replaced the islets in tumor stroma. During PC progression, the damage to pancreatic structure and function was heavier in the pancreatic exocrine (AMYA2+PRSS1+) than in the endocrine (INS+GCG+). Conclusion: Our results revealed the spatial heterogeneity of dynamic changes and highlighted the significance of impaired exocrine function in PC.

BACKGROUND: Chronic stress exposure increases the risk of mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. The medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) is a hub for controlling stress responses through communicating with multiple limbic structures, including the basolateral amygdala (BLA) and nucleus accumbens (NAc). However, considering the complex topographical organization of the mPFC neurons in different subregions (dmPFC vs. vmPFC) and across multiple layers (Layer II/III vs. Layer V), the exact effects of chronic stress on these distinct mPFC output neurons remain largely unknown. RESULTS: We first characterized the topographical organization of mPFC neurons projecting to BLA and NAc. Then, by using a typical mouse model of chronic restraint stress (CRS), we investigated the effects of chronic stress on the synaptic activity and intrinsic properties of the two mPFC neuronal populations. Our results showed that there was limited collateralization of the BLA- and NAc-projecting pyramidal neurons, regardless of the subregion or layer they were situated in. CRS significantly reduced the inhibitory synaptic transmission onto the BLA-projecting neurons in dmPFC layer V without any effect on the excitatory synaptic transmission, thus leading to a shift of the excitation-inhibition (E-I) balance toward excitation. However, CRS did not affect the E-I balance in NAc-projecting neurons in any subregions or layers of mPFC. Moreover, CRS also preferentially increased the intrinsic excitability of the BLA-projecting neurons in dmPFC layer V. By contrast, it even caused a decreasing tendency in the excitability of NAc-projecting neurons in vmPFC layer II/III. CONCLUSION: Our findings indicate that chronic stress exposure preferentially modulates the activity of the mPFC-BLA circuit in a subregion (dmPFC) and laminar (layer V) -dependent manner.
