OBJECTIVE: The objective was to present our experience on managing mycotic infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm (MIAAA) through a retrospective cohort study. METHODS: Data of patients with MIAAA managed in our center from July 2016 to October 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. The diagnosis of MIAAA was made based on: (1) preoperative clinical signs of infection; (2) elevated serologic infection parameters; (3) para-aneurysmal infection features on enhanced computed tomography; and (4) positive blood or tissue cultures. All the patients received standard antibiotic therapy. Surgical management including endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR), initial EVAR followed by open re-operation, and initial open surgical repair (OSR) were conducted according to disease seriosity, physical condition, and patient's will. Infection index and clinical outcome were evaluated during the follow-up time. RESULTS: A total of 23 patients (21 men; averaged=66.3 years, range=49-79 years) were included, with a mean follow-up time of 19.9 months (range=1-75 months). Bacteria culture from blood or tissue specimen was positive in 15 patients (Salmonella, n=8; Escherichia coli, n=3; methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus [MSSA], n=1; Klebsiella pneumoniae, n=1; Staphylococcus epidermidis, n=1; Mycobacterium tuberculosis, n=1). Seven patients received OSR as the initial surgical intervention, whereas 14 patients chose EVAR instead. The 2 conservatively managed patients (refused surgery) died within 30 days. The 7 patients who received initial OSR survived till now. Among the 14 patients who underwent initial EVAR, infection deteriorated without exception (14/14, 100%). Three of these patients refused re-operation and died within 6 months. Eleven patients received secondary surgical intervention (10 cases of aneurysm and endograft resection, thorough debridement, subclavian to bi-femoral artery bypass, or in situ aorta reconstruction; 1 case of laparoscopic debridement) and 7 survived the follow-up time. The overall mortality rate was 39.1% (9/23). The mortality rates differed greatly following different intervention methods (merely antibiotic management, 100%; initial open operation, 0%; initial EVAR without secondary operation, 100%; initial EVAR plus secondary operation, 36.4%). CONCLUSIONS: Open surgical repair is still the first choice for hemodynamically stable and low-risk patients. Merely EVAR is related with disastrous results, which should be reserved as a temporary alternative for patients with ruptured aneurysms, hemodynamic instability or high surgical risk, and followed by timely secondary OSR. CLINICAL IMPACT: The management of mycotic or primary-infected aortic aneurysm is challenging; treatment remains controversial. Our center has reviewed our experience over the past 6 years and found that open surgical repair is still the first choice for hemodynamically stable and low-risk patients. Merely endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) is related with disastrous results, which should be reserved as a temporary alternative for patients with ruptured aneurysms, hemodynamic instability or high surgical risk, and followed by timely secondary open surgical repair.

We theoretically investigate continuous variable entanglement and macroscopic quantum coherence in the hybrid L-G rotational cavity optomechanical system containing two YIG spheres. In this system, a single L-G cavity mode and both magnon modes (which are due to the collective excitation of spins in two YIG spheres) are coupled through the magnetic dipole interaction whereas the L-G cavity mode can also exchange orbital angular momentum (OAM) with the rotating mirror (RM). We study in detail the effects of various physical parameters like cavity and both magnon detunings, environment temperature, optorotational and magnon coupling strengths on the bipartite entanglement and the macroscopic quantum coherence as well. We also explore parameter regimes to achieve maximum values for both of these quantum correlations. We also observed that the parameters regime for achieving maximum bipartite entanglement is completely different from macroscopic quantum coherence. So, our present study shall provide a method to control various nonclassical quantum correlations of macroscopic objects in the hybrid L-G rotational cavity optomechanical system and have potential applications in quantum sensing, quantum meteorology, and quantum information science.

A scheme is proposed to achieve significantly enhanced quantum estimation of optorotational-coupling (ORC) strength by coupling a driven auxiliary cavity to a Laguerre-Gaussian (L-G) rotational cavity, where the ORC originates from the exchange of orbital angular momentum between a L-G light and rotational mirror. The results indicate that, by appropriately designing the auxiliary-cavity mechanism, the estimation error of the ORC parameter is significantly reduced, and revealing the estimation precision has a much stronger thermal noise and dissipation robustness in comparison with the unassisted case. Our study paves the way toward achieving high-precision quantum sensors.

Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) is one of the most sensitive techniques in the field of diagnostics. However, they typically require luminescent labeling and electrode surface biological modification, which is a time-consuming and laborious process involving multiple steps and may also lead to low reaction efficiency. Fabricating label/modification-free biosensors has become one of the most attractive parts for simplifying the ECL assays. In this work, the ECL luminophores carbon dots (CDs) were encapsulated in DNA hydrogel in situ by a simple rolling circle amplification (RCA) reaction. Upon binding of the target DNA, active Cas12a induces a collateral cleavage of the hydrogel's ssDNA backbone, resulting in a programmable degradation of the hydrogel and the release of CDs. By directly measuring the released CDs ECL, a simple and rapid label/modification-free detection of the target HPV-16 was realized. It is noted that this method allowed for 0.63 pM HPV-16 DNA detection without any amplification step, and it could take only ∼60 min for a fast test of a human serum sample. These results showed that our label/modification-free ECL biosensor has great potential for use in simple, rapid, and sensitive point-of-care (POC) detection.

Endometrial cancer (EC) is a prevalent gynecological malignancy, and metabolic disorders are among its most significant risk factors. Abnormal iron metabolism is associated with the progression of cancer malignancy. Nevertheless, the involvement of iron metabolism in the EC remains uncertain. Ceruloplasmin (CP) functions as a multicopper oxidase and ferroxidase, playing a crucial role in maintaining the metabolic balance between copper and iron. Prior research has demonstrated that the dysregulated expression of CP has important clinical implications in EC. However, ​the specific underlying molecular mechanisms remains uncertain. This research examined the impact of CP on the malignant advancement of EC by suppressing ferroptosis. Next, we explored the possibility that Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) LINC02936/SIX1/CP axis may be a key pathway for inhibiting ferroptosis and promoting cancer progression in EC. Mechanistically, SIX1 modulates the expression of CP, whereas LINC02936 interacts with SIX1 and recruits SIX1 to the CP promoter, leading to upregulation of CP, inhibition of ferroptosis, and promotion of EC progression. Administration of a small peptide cloud block the LINC02936-SIX1 interaction, thereby inhibits EC progression by promoting ferroptosis. Altogether, this is the first report on the lncRNA regulation of ferroptosis in EC. Our research enhances the knowledge of the lncRNA-mediated regulation of ferroptosis in EC progression and indicates the potential therapeutic significance of the LINC02936/SIX1/CP axis in treating EC.

The exploration of drugs derived from natural sources holds significant promise in addressing current limitations in ovarian cancer (OC) treatments. While previous studies have highlighted the remarkable anti-cancer properties of the natural compound ß-sitosterol (SIT) across various tumors, its specific role in OC treatment remains unexplored. This study aims to investigate the anti-tumor activity of SIT in OC using in vitro and in vivo models, delineate potential mechanisms, and establish a preclinical theoretical foundation for future clinical trials, thus fostering further research. Utilizing network pharmacology, we pinpoint SIT as a promising candidate for OC treatment and predict its potential targets and pathways. Through a series of in vitro and in vivo experiments, we unveil a novel mechanism through which SIT mitigates the malignant biological behaviors of OC cells by modulating redox status. Specifically, SIT selectively targets argininosuccinate synthetase 1 (ASS1), a protein markedly overexpressed in OC tissues and cells. Inhibiting ASS1, SIT enhances the interaction between Nrf2 and Keap1, instigating the ubiquitin-dependent degradation of Nrf2, subsequently diminishing the transcriptional activation of downstream antioxidant genes HO-1 and NQO1. The interruption of the antioxidant program by SIT results in the substantial accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in OC cells. This, in turn, upregulates PTEN, exerting negative regulation on the phosphorylation activation of AKT. The suppression of AKT signaling disrupted downstream pathways associated with cell cycle, cell survival, apoptosis, migration, and invasion, ultimately culminating in the death of OC cells. Our research uncovers new targets and mechanisms of SIT against OC, contributing to the existing knowledge on the anti-tumor effects of natural products in the context of OC. Additionally, this research unveils a novel role of ASS1 in regulating the Nrf2-mediated antioxidant program and governing redox homeostasis in OC, providing a deeper understanding of this complex disease.

Highly efficient luminescent materials play an important role in electrochemiluminescence (ECL) biosensing systems. Herein, the poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) modified carbon dots (CDs)/zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) compositing metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) materials with excellent luminescence performance were prepared as the ECL emitters for biosensing application. In this novel ternary composites, CDs were used as emitters, ZIF-8 was used as a carrier, and the luminescent performance was finally improved by introducing PEDOT:PSS to improve the conductivity of the nanomaterials. As a result, CDs/PEDOT:PSS/ZIF-8 exhibited an approximately 8 times ECL intensity compared to CDs alone. By further modifying with AuNPs, the enhancement factor reached ≈10 in reference to the individual CDs. After combining with a DNAzyme-based two-cycle target amplification principle, an ECL biosensor was constructed to achieve high-sensitivity detection of miRNA-21 with a detection limit of 50 aM. The biosensor also demonstrated desirable selectivity, excellent stability, and quantitative ability for human serum target detection. Overall, these findings not only provide a promising pathway for high luminous efficiency ECL emitters synthesis, but also provide a platform for ultrasensitive miRNA sensing.

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to examine attentional bias (AB) for sad and social rejection words in Chinese left-behind children (LBC) with depression. METHOD: We investigated both stimulus specificity and components of AB in different groups using a cross-sectional design. Data were drawn from a school assessment of depression and anxiety, from which we selected LBC with depression (n = 40), LBC without depression (n = 33), a control group with depression (n = 31), and a control group without depression (n = 37). AB was measured with a dot-probe task covering two stimulus types (sad and rejection). RESULTS: The analysis of AB scores revealed a significant three-way interaction (LBC × depression × word type), F(1, 137) = 4.00, p = 0.047, η2 = 0.028, with depressed non-LBC exhibiting a significant depression × word type interaction, F(1, 66) = 4.67, p = 0.034, η2 = 0.066, while the depression × word type interaction was not significant in LBC, F(1, 71) = 0.18, p = 0.675, η2 = 0.002. Depressed children living with their parents showed AB towards sad words but not rejection words, while depressed LBC showed greater AB towards both rejection and sad words. CONCLUSIONS: The findings provide evidence that an AB towards sad information is critically involved in the depressed LBC. Compared with non-LBC depressed individuals, an AB for rejection may be involved as a risk factor in the LBC. It sheds light on the effective intervention programmes for LBC's depression and have important practical significance for reducing depression and improving the mental health of LBC.

Nowadays, easy, convenient, and sensitive sensing strategies are still critical for organophosphorus pesticides in environmental water samples. Herein, a novel organophosphorus pesticide (OP) assay based on acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and a MnO2 nanosheet-mediated CRISPR/Cas12a reaction is reported. The single-strand DNA (ssDNA) activator of CRISPR/Cas12a was simply adsorbed on the MnO2 nanosheets as the nanoswitches of the assay. In the absence of target OPs, AChE hydrolyzed acetylcholine (ATCh) to thiocholine (TCh), which reduced the MnO2 nanosheets to Mn2+, resulting in the release of the activator followed by activation of the CRISPR/Cas12a system. The activated Cas12a thereafter nonspecifically cleaved the FAM/BHQ1-labeled ssDNA (FQ-reporter), producing a fluorescence signal. Upon the addition of target OPs, the hydrolysis of ATCh by AChE was inhibited owing to OPs combining with AChE, and thus effective quantification of OPs could be achieved by measuring the fluorescence changes of the system. As a proof of concept, dichlorvos (DDVP) was chosen as a model OP analyte to address the feasibility of the proposed method. Attributed to the excellent trans-cleavage activity of Cas12a, the fluorescent biosensor exhibits a satisfactory limit of detection (LOD) for DDVP at 0.135 ng mL-1. In addition, the excellent recoveries for the detection of DDVP in environmental water samples demonstrate the applicability of the proposed assay in real sample research.

We theoretically propose a scheme to generate distant bipartite entanglement between various subsystems in coupled magnomechanical systems where both the microwave cavities are coupled through single photon hopping coupling strength Γ. Each cavity contains a magnon mode and phonon mode and this gives six excitation modes in our model Hamiltonian which are cavity-1 photons, cavity-2 photons, magnon and phonon in cavity-1, and magnon and phonon in cavity-2. We found that significant bipartite entanglement exists between indirectly coupled subsystems in coupled microwave cavities for an appropriate set of parameters regime. Moreover, we also obtain suitable cavity and magnon detuning parameters for a significant distant bipartite entanglement in different bipartitions. In addition, it can be seen that a single photon hopping parameter significantly affects both the degree as well as the transfer of quantum entanglement between various bipartitions. Hence, our present study related to coupled microwave cavity magnomechanical configuration will open new perspectives in coherent control of various quantum correlations including quantum state transfer among macroscopic quantum systems.

Objective: To determine the significance of the nasopharyngeal cavity area (S) in diagnosing and treating adenoid hypertrophy (AH) in children by measuring it with cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of eighty-five 5- to 6-year-old children with AH admitted to the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Dalian Central Hospital between January 2022 and April 2023. Of the 85 patients, 48 were male and 37 were female; all had been diagnosed with AH and underwent surgery. Sleeping with open-mouth breathing was frequently accompanied by clinical manifestations such as chronic sinusitis in most patients. Every patient was subjected to a CBCT examination of the nasopharynx and 3D airway reconstruction. The adenoid thickness (A) and nasopharyngeal cavity width (N) were measured in the sagittal plane, while the S was measured in the coronal plane. The factors that had a significant impact on S's size was analyzed using linear regression. Results: S and age, A, N, height, weight, BMI, allergic rhinitis, deviated nasal septum, and enlarged turbinate hypertrophy did not differ significantly (P > .05). However, there was a significant linear relationship between A/N and chronic sinusitis (R2 = 0.948, P < .01). Regression equation: S = -4.115 × A/N × 100-5.037 × 1/0 (with chronic sinusitis/without chronic sinusitis) +418. 097. The calculated S in individuals with A/N = 70% and no chronic sinusitis was 130 mm2. Conclusion: The S can be used as an important imaging index for diagnosing and evaluating the severity of AH in minors. When a child exhibits clinical signs of AH but A/N ≤ 70%, it is difficult to determine whether surgical intervention is necessary. At this time, CBCT is required to measure the nasopharyngeal cavity's size. When S ≤ 130 mm2, the patient should actively undertake surgical treatment.

Polyferric sulfate (PFS), an economical coagulant widely used for removing heavy metal contaminants from water, is susceptible to reduction and transformation by iron-reducing bacteria prevalent in sediments. However, the effect of heavy metal ions adsorbed in PFS flocs on this biological process remains unclear. According to our results, compared with other heavy metal cations (e.g., Cu2+, Cd2+, Zn2+, Ni2+, Pb2+, and Co2+), Cu2+ had a stronger inhibitory effect on PFS floc reduction by Shewanella putrefaciens CN32, a typical dissimilatory iron-reducing bacterium. The presence of Cu2+ remarkably influenced the global transcription of CN32, resulting in 782 upregulated genes and 713 downregulated genes that are mainly annotated in energy production, amino acid metabolism, protein biosynthesis, and oxidation‒reduction processes. The anaerobic TCA cycle for energy (electron) production was significantly activated in the presence of Cu2+, while the transcription of many genes related to the extracellular electron transfer pathway was downregulated, which is responsible for the decreased Fe3+ reduction. Moreover, the pathways of assimilatory sulfate reduction and subsequent cysteine biosynthesis were significantly enriched, which is hypothesized to result in the consumption of abundant energy produced from the enhanced anaerobic TCA cycle, revealing a strategy to address the oxidative stress caused by Cu2+. This work elucidates the unusual suppressive effects of Cu2+ on the microbial reduction of PFS flocs, which reveals the high resistance of PFS flocs to microbial destruction when used to treat Cu2+ pollution in water, thus demonstrating their tremendous practical prospects.

Background: Accessory cephalic vein (ACV) ligation can circumvent immature arteriovenous fistula (AVF). However, no consensus has been reached on the definite timing of ACV ligation. This study aimed to retrospectively analyze the correlation between preoperative Doppler ultrasonography (DUS)-assessed specific ACV diameter-cephalic vein diameter ratio (r) and early dysfunction of Radial artery-Cephalic vein (RC)-AVF in order to improve the early maturity rate of RC-AVF. Methods: A total of 258 patients who underwent RC-AVF at The Third Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University from 1 June 2018 to 31 March 2022 were included in this study. The inclusion criteria were as follows: (I) cephalic vein ≥2.0 mm and radial artery ≥1.5 mm, suitable for RC-AVF establishment; (II) presence of an ACV. As per the specific r determined using preoperative DUS assessment, all patients were classified into two groups: Group A (r<0.8) and Group B (r≥0.8). Furthermore, patients in each group were divided into intervention and non-intervention subgroups based on the presence or absence of intraoperative ACV ligation, respectively. Patient data including age, sex, underlying disease, AVF side, and radial diameter were compared. The difference of maturity rate between participants in the intervention group and non-intervention group with different r values was analyzed, so as to obtain the relationship between different r values and maturity rate. Results: No statistical differences were observed between the intervention and non-intervention subgroups in the two groups in terms of sex, age, comorbidities, complications, AVF side, radial artery, cephalic vein, and ACV diameters (P>0.05). When r<0.8, the maturity rates of the intervention group and the non-intervention group were 80% and 92.98%, respectively, χ2=4.561. The difference in maturation rate between the intervention and non-intervention subgroups was insignificant (P=0.075) when r<0.8. When r≥0.8, the maturity rates of the intervention group and the non-intervention group were 89.83% and 45.45%, respectively, χ2=25.943. The difference in maturation rates between the intervention and non-intervention subgroups was significant when r≥0.8 (P<0.001). Conclusions: Preoperative DUS suggested a correlation between r≥0.8 and early immaturity of RC-AVF. Therefore, concurrent intraoperative ACV ligation should be carried out when preoperative r is ≥0.8, as it may reduce the early power dysfunction of RC-AVF.

Paeonol (PAE) is a natural phenolic monomer isolated from the root bark of Paeonia suffruticosa that has been widely used in the clinical treatment of some inflammatory-related diseases and cardiovascular diseases. Much preclinical evidence has demonstrated that PAE not only exhibits a broad spectrum of anticancer effects by inhibiting cell proliferation, invasion and migration and inducing cell apoptosis and cycle arrest through multiple molecular pathways, but also shows excellent performance in improving cancer drug sensitivity, reversing chemoresistance and reducing the toxic side effects of anticancer drugs. However, studies indicate that PAE has the characteristics of poor stability, low bioavailability and short half-life, which makes the effective dose of PAE in many cancers usually high and greatly limits its clinical translation. Fortunately, nanomaterials and derivatives are being developed to ameliorate PAE's shortcomings. This review aims to systematically cover the anticancer advances of PAE in pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, nano delivery systems and derivatives, to provide researchers with the latest and comprehensive information, and to point out the limitations of current studies and areas that need to be strengthened in future studies. We believe this work will be beneficial for further exploration and repurposing of this natural compound as a new clinical anticancer drug.

As a hallmark for cancer, aerobic glycolysis, also known as the Warburg effect contributes to tumor progression. However, the roles of aerobic glycolysis on cervical cancer remain elusive. In this work, we identified transcription factor HOXA1 as a novel regulator of aerobic glycolysis. High expression of HOXA1 is closely associated with poor outcome of patients. And, altered HOXA1 expression enhance or reduce aerobic glycolysis and progression in cervical cancer. Mechanistically, HOXA1 directly regulates the transcriptional activity of ENO1 and PGK1, thus induce glycolysis and promote cancer progression. Moreover, therapeutic knockdown of HOXA1 results in reduce aerobic glycolysis and inhibits cervical cancer progression in vivo and in vitro. In conclusion, these data indicate a therapeutic role of HOXA1 inhibits aerobic glycolysis and cervical cancer progression.

Introduction: Ovarian cancer (OC) is one of the major diseases threatening women's health and life. Estimating the burden trends and risk factors of OC can help develop effective management and prevention measures. However, there is a lack of comprehensive analysis concerning the burden and risk factors of OC in China. In this study, we aimed to assess and predict the burden trends of OC in China from 1990 to 2030, and make a comparison with the global level. Methods: We extracted prevalence, incidence, mortality, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), years of life lost (YLLs), and years lived with disability (YLDs) data from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019 (GBD 2019) and characterized OC burden in China by year and age. OC epidemiological characteristics were interpreted by conducting joinpoint and Bayesian age-period-cohort analysis. We also described risk factors, and predicted OC burden from 2019 to 2030 using Bayesian age-period-cohort model. Results: In China, there were about 196,000 cases, 45,000 new cases and 29,000 deaths owing to OC in 2019. The age-standardized rates (ASRs) of prevalence, incidence and mortality have increased by 105.98%, 79.19%, and 58.93% respectively by 1990. In the next decade, OC burden in China will continue to rise with a higher rate than the global level. The OC burden in women under 20 years of age is slowing down, while the burden in women over 40 years of age is getting more severe, especially in postmenopausal and older women. High fasting plasma glucose is the major factor contributing the most to OC burden in China, and high body-mass index has surpassed occupational exposure to asbestos to be the second risk factor. OC burden from 2016 to 2019 in China has increased faster than ever before, indicates an urgent need to develop effective interventions. Conclusion: The burden of OC in China has shown an obvious upward trend in the past 30 years, and the increase rate accelerated significantly in recent 5 years. In the next decade, OC burden in China will continue to rise with a higher rate than the global level. Popularizing screening methods, optimizing the quality of clinical diagnosis and treatment, and promoting healthy lifestyle are critical measures to improve this problem.

Some small shelly fossils are important index fossils for global stratigraphic subdivisions and correlations of the Cambrian Terreneuvian. The first appearance datum (FAD) of the cosmopolitan mollusk Aldanella attleborensis has been suggested as one of the potential markers for defining the base of Cambrian Stage 2. Aldanella fossils were uncommon in South China, and if occurring, were often described as Aldanella yanjiaheensis, A. attleborensis, or indeterminate species in the literature, while A. yanjiaheensis was often taken as a junior synonym of A. attleborensis. Nevertheless, a detailed taxonomic revision of A. yanjiaheensis based on material from its type locality awaits to be made. In this study, we systematically re-evaluated A. yanjiaheensis based on the numerous specimens collected from the base of Member 5 of the Yanjiahe Formation in the Three Gorges area, western Hubei Province of South China. Detailed taxonomic comparison further substantiates that A. yanjiaheensis is a junior synonym of A. attleborensis, signifying its strong potential for a global correlation across paleocontinents. Morphological parameter analyses indicate that the length and width of shell tube of A. attleborensis shows allometric growth. The nearly cosmopolitan distribution and characteristic morphology of A. attleborensis indicate that it can play a significant role in the subdivision and correlation of Cambrian Stage 2. The co-occurrence of A. attleborensis and Watsonella crosbyi from the base of Member 5 of the Yanjiahe Formation corroborates that Member 5 belongs to Cambrian Stage 2.

Cisplatin (DDP) resistance limits therapeutic efficacy in patients diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Purvalanol A (Pur) is a novel cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) inhibitor that has been demonstrated to induce apoptosis in various cancer cells. The present study investigated the effect of the combination treatment of Pur and DDP, and the potential anticancer mechanisms in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) cells in vitro and in vivo . We found that Pur enhanced the anti-tumor efficacy of cisplatin in EOC cells. The combination of Pur and DDP had more significant effects on apoptosis induction in EOC cells compared with the individual-treatment groups and the control group. We further demonstrated that the combination of Pur and DDP may trigger apoptosis and autophagy in EOC cells by inducing reactive oxygen species (ROS). And the ROS/Akt/mammalian target of rapamycin signaling pathway as a potential mechanism for the initiation of autophagy induced by combination therapy. Similar results were observed in vivo . These results demonstrated that Pur sensitized the response of EOC cells to cisplatin in vitro and in vivo , reversing the resistance to cisplatin in ovarian cancer.

The current study examined the effects of a reward associative learning procedure and the traditional threat-avoidance ABM paradigm on anxiety and attentional bias. In reward training, participants were given high rewards for correct responses to neutral target and low rewards for correct responses to negative target. In reward control training, participants received no cues of rewards after their responses. High trait anxious individuals (N = 76) first completed a session of reward training or reward control training, followed by four sessions of ABM training or ABM control training. Generalized anxiety disorder symptom (GAD-7) and attentional bias in a dot-probe task were assessed during pre-and post-training. Results indicated that the effect of ABM training on reducing anxiety was only obtained in the reward training condition. Participants who received reward training showed significantly less attentional bias compared with those receiving reward control training. There was no significant training effect of ABM on atttentiona bias. Results suggested that reward training reduced general anxiety and attentional bias. Traditional ABM training reduced anxiety only when combined with reward training. Attentional bias in anxiety are modifiable through reward training.

We proposed a method based on the Brillouin optical time domain analysis (BOTDA) system to demodulate the length changes of the heating region using the intensity of probe light, under the premise that the temperature in the heating region does not change and the Brillouin frequency shift (BFS) of the heating region is known. This method can realize the recognition of small length under the condition of wide pulse width. The theoretical analysis shows that the different lengths of the heating region will lead to different gains when the spatial resolution corresponding to the pulse width of the pulsed light is larger than the length of the heating region. And through theoretical derivation and simulation, it is concluded that the relationship between the intensity of probe light and the length of the heating region satisfies the exponential growth. Further experiments verify that the exponential growth is approximately linear in the range of small length changes. The length of the heating region can be inversely deduced by using the linear relationship by detecting the intensity of probe light. When the length of sensing fiber is 100 m and the heating region changes from 2 cm to 8 cm, 1 cm heating region changes can be identified.
