RESUMO

We studied the nature of the action of course treatment with argon and helium (1 min, 3 procedures) on the oxidative metabolism in rat blood plasma. The study was performed on 30 Wistar rats divided into 3 groups (n=10 in each group): intact and 2 experimental (treatment of the skin of the back with a stream of argon and helium, respectively). After completion of the treatment course, the intensity of free radical processes, the total antioxidant activity, and malondialdehyde concentration were evaluated in the blood plasma. It was found that argon and helium gas flows provide stimulation of antioxidant systems, but the mechanisms of their effect were different. Treatment with helium did not affect the intensity of free radical processes, but significantly increased the overall antioxidant activity of blood plasma and reduced malondialdehyde concentration in comparison with the effect of argon flow.

RESUMO

Disorders of the hemostatic system and inflammation play a key role in the pathogenesis of new coronavirus pneumonia (NCP), determining its course and outcome. To study the dynamics of the state of the hemostasis system and the severity of the acute phase response in patients with new coronavirus pneumonia. We determined APTT, prothrombin time (PT), fibrinogen (F), D-dimers (D-d), antitrombin III (AT III), C-reactive protein (CRP), platelet count in 22 patients. In 49 patients, the viscoelastic properties of a blood clot were studied by thromboelastography (TEG) with koalin. The age of the patients ranged from 40 to 77 years. According to CT, the severity of 100% cases corresponded to CT2-CT3. Acute respiratory failure (ARF) was diagnosed in 16 patients. A control group included 25 apparently healthy subjects. During hospitalization, patients with NCP were characterized by: an increase in the concentration of D-d, CRP, Fg, lengthening of APTT and PT, ATIII activity and platelet count not differing from the normal range. 10 days after hospitalization and against the background of ongoing therapy, patients with NCP showed positive dynamics in the hemostasiological profile and the severity of the inflammatory response. Thromboelastography indices in patients with LCP did not differ from control values both at hospitalization and on day 10.Thus, in patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia, an increased prothrombotic activity and a pronounced inflammatory response are recorded. Against the background of treatment, there is a positive dynamics in both the coagulation status and the inflammatory response. Additional studies are needed to determine the diagnostic capabilities of thromboelastography in patients with NCP.

RESUMO

An aggregation of erythrocytes in autologous plasma after blood storage for 14 days at 4 °C was studied using photometry and light microscopy. The decrease of ATP content, the formation of echinocytes and spheroechinocytes, the decrease of rouleaux form of erythrocyte aggregation were observed during the storage. On the other hand the aggregates of echinocytes were formed in the stored blood. The addition of plasma from the fresh blood didn't restore the normal discocytic shape and aggregation of erythrocytes in the stored blood. The possible mechanisms of erythrocytes and echinocytes aggregation are discussed.

RESUMO

The effects of lysophosphatidic acid on the morphology and aggregation of human erythrocytes has been studied. Morphology of erythrocytes and their aggregates were studied by light microscopy. It has been shown that lysophosphatidic acid changes the shape of red blood cells: diskocyte become echinocytes. Aggregation of red blood cells (rouleaux) was significantly reduced in autoplasma. At the same time there is a strong aggregation of echinocytes. This was accompanied by the formation of microvesicles. Adding normal plasma to echinocytes restores shape and aggregation of red blood cells consisting of "rouleaux". A possible mechanism of action of lysophosphatidic acid on erythrocytes is discussed.

RESUMO

The effect of adenosine on the shape, aggregate morphology and aggregability of ATP-depleted erythrocytes was studied. It is shown that the ATP-depletion of erythrocyte leads to the change in their shape: diskocytes transform to echinocytes. It is found that the aggregability of such cells in autoplasma significantly decreased. Incubation of echinocytes with adenosine largely restored discoid shape and erythrocyte aggregability.

RESUMO

The relationship between shape and spontaneous and fibrinogen-induced aggregation change in human erythrocytes was studied. Spontaneous and fibrinogen-induced erythrocyte aggregation was investigated using a rheoscope designed according to the method of H. Schmid-Schonbein et al. (1973). The erythrocyte shape was studied by means of light microscopy. It was shown that plasma enriched with lysophosphatidic acid and ATP depletion of erythrocytes led to the change of erythrocyte shape: discocytes transformed into echinocytes. It was found that spontaneous aggregation of such cells was considerably decreased. Aggregation of erythrocytes, treated with lysophosphatidic acid, was diminished more markedly. Fibrinogen-induced aggregation of echinocytes, obtained after treatment with lysophosphatidic acid and produced by ATP depletion, was also greatly reduced.
