RESUMO
Exquisitely tailoring the morphologies of photocatalysts could achieve high activities. In this study, the morphological transformation of bismuth oxyhalide (BiOX, X = Br, I and Cl) from disordered lamellae to regular flowers was facilely achieved via the use of carboxylated cellulose-derived carbon (CDC). The sphere-like structure and abundant surface functional groups of CDC induce the formation of such flower-like morphologies of BiOX/CDC, and this morphology results in a pronounced increase in surface area (e.g., the surface area of BiOBr increases from 3 to 106 m2 g-1) and porosity. Combined with the good light absorption and conductivity of CDC, the flower-like BiOX/CDC exhibited impressive photocatalytic activity under visible light. Regarding the probing Cr(VI) reduction reaction, the representative BiOBr/CDC is capable of reducing 98% of Cr(VI) within 30 min of visible-light illumination, which is markedly greater than those of pure BiOBr (6%) and CDC (16%). Likewise, BiOI/CDC and BiOCl/CDC also have decent photocatalytic Cr(VI) reduction capacities (89% for BiOI/CDC and 69% for BiOCl/CDC) under visible light in comparison with pristine BiOI (13%) and BiOCl (1.5%). This work furnishes a novel and facile approach to tune photocatalyst morphologies and sheds light on the great potential of biomass-derived carbon, which may enlighten the judicious design of photocatalysts with high efficiency.
RESUMO
BACKGROUND: Neoadjuvant therapy (NT) has increased survival rates for patients with locally advanced esophageal cancer (EC), but estimating the impact of NT treatment prior to surgery is still very difficult. METHODS: A retrospective study of the clinical information of 150 patients with locally advanced EC who got NT at Qilu Hospital of Shandong University between June 2018 and June 2023. Patients were randomized into training and internal validation groups at a 3:1 ratio. Furthermore, an external validation cohort comprised 38 patients who underwent neoadjuvant therapy at Qianfoshan Hospital in the Shandong Province between June 2021 and June 2023. Independent risk factors were identified using univariate and multivariate logistic regression (forward stepwise regression). Predictive models and dynamic web nomograms were developed by integrating these risk factors. RESULTS: A total of 188 patients with locally advanced EC were enrolled, of whom 118 achieved stage I of neoadjuvant pathologic TNM (ypTNM) after receiving NT and 129 achieved grades 0-1 in the tumor regression grade (TRG). Logistic regression analysis identified five independent predictors of TRG grades 0-1: pulmonary function tests (PFT), prognostic nutritional index (PNI), triglyceride (TG) levels, squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCC-Ag) levels, and combination immunotherapy. The areas under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves for the training, internal validation, and external validation groups were 0.87, 0.75, and 0.80, respectively. Meanwhile, two independent predictors of stage I of ypTNM were identified: prealbumin (PA) and SCC antigen. The areas under the ROC curves for the training, internal validation, and external validation groups were 0.78, 0.67, and 0.70, respectively. The Hosmer-Lemeshow test for both predictive models showed excellent calibration, with well-fitted calibration curves. Decision curve analysis (DCA) and clinical impact curves (CIC) have demonstrated that nomograms are of clinical utility. CONCLUSION: The nomograms performed well in predicting the likelihood of stage I of ypTNM and TRG grade 0-1 after NT in patients with locally advanced EC. It helps thoracic surgeons to predict the sensitivity of patients to NT before surgery, which enables precise treatment of patients with locally advanced EC.

Background: Several studies indicated that inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) may contribute to increased susceptibility to primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). However, the causal relationship between IBD and PBC remains unclear. Methods: The genetic variant data of patients with IBD and PBC were obtained from published genome-wide association studies (GWASs). The IBD data were further divided into a discovery dataset and a validation dataset depending on the data source. We conducted a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis using the inverse variance weighting (IVW), MR-Egger, weighted median (WM), MR robust adjusted profile score (MR-RAPS), and maximum likelihood (ML) methods, with IVW being the main focus, to verify the causal relationship between IBD and PBC. Additionally, a series of sensitivity analyses were performed to ensure the reliability of the results. Results: In the discovery cohort, the IVW analysis results (OR = 1.114, P = 0.011) indicated a significant association between IBD and PBC. The MR-RAPS (OR = 1.130, P = 0.007) and ML (OR = 1.115, P = 0.011) analyses yielded results consistent with those of IVW in confirming IBD as a risk factor for PBC. In the validation cohort, consistent findings were observed regarding the causal relationship between IBD and PBC using IVW, MR-RAPS, and ML analyses; all three methods identified IBD as a risk factor for developing PBC. By the IVW analysis, Crohn's disease (CD) emerged as the most prominent subtype of IBD associated with an increased risk of developing PBC in both the discovery cohort (OR = 1.068, P = 0.049) and the validation cohort (OR = 1.082, P = 0.019). Conclusion: The results of the MR analysis suggest a causal relationship between IBD and PBC, highlighting the necessity for proactive PBC prevention in patients with IBD, particularly those with CD.
RESUMO
Metal-organic framework derived materials received a lot of attention due to their significant benefits in photocatalytic reactions. In this work, a Z-scheme ZnIn2S4/Bi2S3 hierarchical heterojunction is first developed by a one-pot method using CAU-17 as a template. The specific preparation method endows an intimate interface contact between these two monomers, and CAU-17-derived Bi2S3 possesses a high surface area and porosity, resulting in an efficient charge separation and O2 capture. Thus, for photocatalytic H2O2 production from the O2 reduction reaction, the ZnIn2S4/Bi2S3 heterojunction can achieve an H2O2 yield of 995 µmol L-1 in pure water and ambient air under visible light, 4.5 and 4 times that of ZnIn2S4 and Bi2S3, respectively. In addition, in tetracycline solution, ZnIn2S4/Bi2S3 can degrade tetracycline with a degradation rate of 95% by photocatalysis, and at the same time, a final H2O2 production yield of 1223 µmol L-1 is reached. Similarly, high yields of H2O2 are also obtained from wastewater containing o-nitrophenol, acid golden yellow, or acid red, and these pollutants are effectively degraded. This work reveals the potential of metal-organic framework-derived materials in photocatalysis, as well as provides insights into H2O2 green synthesis and wastewater treatment.

BACKGROUND: The prognostic significance of adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT) for patients with stage IA micropapillary non-predominant (MPNP) lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) remains unknown. This study aimed to investigate the effects of postoperative ACT in patients with stage IA MPNP-LUAD. METHODS: A total of 149 patients with pathological stage IA MPNP-LUAD who underwent surgery at our center were retrospectively analyzed. Propensity score matching (PSM) analysis was conducted to reduce potential selection bias. Kaplan-Meier analyses were used to assess the impact of ACT on recurrence-free survival (RFS), overall survival (OS), and disease-specific survival (DSS). Subgroup analyses were performed for the survival outcomes based on the percentage of micropapillary components. Cox proportional hazards regression analyses were applied to identify risk factors associated with survival. RESULTS: The receipt or non-receipt of postoperative ACT had no significant effect on RFS, OS, and DSS among all enrolled patients with stage IA MPNP-LUAD (P > 0.05). For patients with a micropapillary component > 5%, the 5-year rates of RFS, OS, and DSS were significantly higher in the ACT group compared to the observation group, both before and after PSM (P < 0.05). However, the differences between the two groups were not significant for patients with a micropapillary component ≤ 5% (P > 0.05). The resection range (HR = 0.071; 95% CI: 0.020-0.251; P < 0.001), tumor size (HR = 2.929; 95% CI: 1.171-7.330; P = 0.022), and ACT (HR = 0.122; 95% CI: 0.037-0.403; P = 0.001) were identified as independent prognostic factors for RFS through Cox regression analysis. CONCLUSION: Patients with stage IA MPNP-LUAD who have a micropapillary component greater than 5% might benefit from postoperative ACT, while those with a micropapillary component ≤ 5% did not appear to derive the same benefit from postoperative ACT.

BACKGROUND: Lymphocyte-activation gene 3 (LAG3) is a recently discovered immune checkpoint molecule that has been linked to immunosuppression and the advancement of cancer in different types of solid tumors. This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic importance of LAG3 and its role in the immune system within solid tumors. METHODS: Extensive literature searches were conducted using the Pubmed, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library databases to identify relevant studies exploring the effect of LAG3 on survival outcomes. Pooled hazard ratios (HRs) with its 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated to evaluate the prognostic values of LAG3. Afterwards, subgroup analysis and sensitivity analysis were conducted. Pan-cancer analysis investigated the possible relationships between LAG3 expression and genetic alterations, RNA methylation modification-related genes, genomic instability, immune checkpoint genes, and infiltration of immune cells. RESULTS: A total of 43 studies with 7,118 patients were included in this analysis. Higher expression of LAG3 was associated with worse overall survival (HR = 1.10, 95% CI 1.01-1.19, P = 0.023), but not disease-free survival (HR = 1.41, 95% CI 0.96-2.07, P = 0.078), progression-free survival (HR = 1.12, 95% CI 0.90-1.39, P = 0.317) or recurrence-free survival (HR = 0.98, 95% CI 0.81-1.19, P = 0.871). Subgroup analysis showed that LAG3 might play different prognostic roles in different solid tumors. LAG3 expression was positively associated with immune cell infiltration and immune checkpoint genes in all of the cancers included. LAG3 expression was also found to be associated with microsatellite instability (MSI), copy number variation (CNV), simple nucleoside variation (SNV), tumor mutation burden (TMB), and neoantigen in various types of cancers. CONCLUSIONS: Elevated expression of LAG3 is linked to poorer prognosis among patients diagnosed with solid cancers. LAG3 might play varying prognostic roles in different types of solid tumors. Given its substantial involvement in cancer immunity and tumorigenesis, LAG3 has garnered attention as a promising prognostic biomarker and a potential target for immunotherapy.
RESUMO
Background: The progression of early stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is closely related to epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation status. The purpose of this study was to systematically investigate the relationship between EGFR mutation status and demographic, imaging, and ultimately pathologic features in patients with NSCLC. Methods: A complete literature search was conducted using the PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library databases to discover articles published by May 15, 2023 that were eligible. The relationship between EGFR mutation status and specific demographic, imaging, and ultimately pathologic features in patients with NSCLC was evaluated using pooled odds ratios (ORs) and their 95% confidence intervals (CIs). The standardized mean difference (SMD) with 95% CIs was the appropriate statistic to summarize standard deviations (SDs) means for continuous variables. Results: A total of 9 studies with 1789 patients were included in this analysis. The final findings suggested that patients with a greater age, female gender, and non-smoking status would have a relatively higher incidence of EGFR mutations. Additionally, the risk of EGFR mutations increased with larger tumor diameter, tumor imaging presentation of mixed ground glass opacity (mGGO), and tumor pathological findings of minimally invasive adenocarcinoma (MIA) or invasive adenocarcinoma (IAC). Significantly, malignancies presenting as MIA are more likely to contain L858R point mutations (OR = 1.80; 95% CI: 1.04-3.13; p = 0.04) rather than exon 19 deletions (OR = 1.81; 95% CI: 0.95-3.44; p = 0.07). Conclusion: This meta-analysis showed that imaging parameters and histological classifications of pulmonary nodules may be able to predict stage IA NSCLC genetic changes.
RESUMO
BACKGROUND: The innovative closed management of universities may have influenced the physical and mental health of students during the fourth stage of the COVID-19 pandemic in China. The study aimed to assess the gastrointestinal and mental health status of students in this stage and to explore the possible risk factors and mechanisms to provide a reference for future school responses to similar stressful events. METHOD: A multicenter, cross-sectional survey was administered to 598 college students from 10 Chinese universities. The study used the 7-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7), 9-item Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19 S), and the Diagnostic Tendency of Functional Bowel Disease Scale (DT-FBD) to evaluate anxiety, depression, fear of COVID-19 and likelihood of being diagnose diagnosed with functional bowel disease (FBD), respectively. RESULTS: A total of 516 college students completed the questionnaire. The proportions of students with more severe anxiety, more severe depression, greater fear of COVID-19, and a greater likelihood of being diagnosed with FBD were 49.8%, 57.0%, 49%, and 49%, respectively. These symptoms were significantly and positively correlated with the frequency of irregular sleep and eating (p < 0.05). Students in high-risk areas were more likely to experience anxiety and depression than students in areas with low/medium risk (odds ratio [OR] = 1.90, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.12-3.24, p = 0.017; OR = 2.14, 95% CI: 1.11-4.11, p = 0.022). A high likelihood of being diagnosed with FBD was positively associated with the severity of anxiety and depression symptoms and fear of COVID-19 (all p < 0.001). Moreover, mediation analysis revealed the following pathway in college students: fear of COVID-19 â depression and anxiety â poor diet â likelihood of being diagnosed with FBD. CONCLUSION: College students generally exhibited higher more severe anxiety and depression symptoms and psychological symptoms with a greater higher propensity likelihood of being to be diagnosed with FBD. Good lifestyle habits, especially adequate sleep and a regular diet, can alleviate these problems. In addition, appropriate psychological intervention is very important.

Background: With the popularity of computed tomography (CT) of the thorax, the rate of diagnosis for patients with early-stage lung cancer has increased. However, distinguishing high-risk pulmonary nodules (HRPNs) from low-risk pulmonary nodules (LRPNs) before surgery remains challenging. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 1064 patients with pulmonary nodules (PNs) admitted to the Qilu Hospital of Shandong University from April to December 2021. Randomization of all eligible patients to either the training or validation cohort was performed in a 3:1 ratio. Eighty-three PNs patients who visited Qianfoshan Hospital in the Shandong Province from January through April of 2022 were included as an external validation. Univariable and multivariable logistic regression (forward stepwise regression) were used to identify independent risk factors, and a predictive model and dynamic web nomogram were constructed by integrating these risk factors. Results: A total of 895 patients were included, with an incidence of HRPNs of 47.3% (423/895). Logistic regression analysis identified four independent risk factors: the size, consolidation tumor ratio, CT value of PNs, and carcinoembryonic antigen levels in blood. The area under the ROC curves was 0.895, 0.936, and 0.812 for the training, internal validation, and external validation cohorts, respectively. The Hosmer-Lemeshow test demonstrated excellent calibration capability, and the fit of the calibration curve was good. DCA has shown the nomogram to be clinically useful. Conclusion: The nomogram performed well in predicting the likelihood of HRPNs. In addition, it identified HRPNs in patients with PNs, achieved accurate treatment with HRPNs, and is expected to promote their rapid recovery.
RESUMO
Background: Aberrant expression of fatty acid synthase (FASN) was demonstrated in various tumors including breast cancer. A meta-analysis was conducted to investigate the role of FASN in breast cancer development and its potential prognostic significance. Methods: The Web of Science, PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases were searched to identify studies that evaluated the relationship between FASN expression and overall survival (OS), relapse-free survival (RFS), and disease-free survival (DFS) of breast cancer patients. To analyze the clinicopathological and prognostic values of FASN expression in breast cancer, pooled hazard ratios (HRs), odds ratios (ORs), and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were clustered based on random-effects models. To confirm whether the findings were stable and impartial, a sensitivity analysis was performed, and publication bias was estimated. Data were analyzed using Engauge Digitizer version 5.4 and Stata version 15.0. Results: Five studies involving 855 participants were included. Patients with higher FASN expression did not have a shorter survival period compared to those with lower FASN expression (summary HR: OS, 0.73 [95% CI, 0.41-1.32; P=0.300]; DFS/RFS, 1.65 [95% CI, 0.61-4.43; P=0.323]). However, increased FASN expression was correlated with large tumor size (OR, 2.04; 95% CI, 1.04-4.00; P=0.038), higher human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) positivity (OR, 1.53; 95% CI, 1.05-2.23; P=0.028). No significant associations were observed between FASN expression and histological grade (OR, 0.92; 95% CI, 0.41-2.04; P=0.832), Tumor Node Metastasis (TNM) stage (OR, 1.11; 95% CI, 0.49-2.53; P=0.795), nodal metastasis (OR, 1.42; 95% CI, 0.84-2.38; P=0.183), Ki-67 labelling index (OR, 0.64; 95% CI, 0.15-2.63; P=0.533), estrogen receptor (ER) status (OR, 0.90; 95% CI, 0.61-1.32; P=0.586), or progesterone receptor (PR) status (OR, 0.67; 95% CI, 0.29-1.56; P=0.354). Conclusion: FASN is associated with HER2 expression and may contribute to tumor growth, but it has no significant impact on the overall prognosis of breast cancer.
RESUMO
The delicate design of photocatalyst monoliths is of great significance for the practical applications of artificial photocatalysis. An in-situ synthesis to prepare ZnIn2S4/cellulose foam was developed. Cellulose is dispersed in a highly concentrated ZnCl2 aqueous solution to prepare Zn2+/cellulose foam. Zn2+ ions are pre-anchored by hydrogen bonds on cellulose and become in-situ sites for synthesizing ultra-thin ZnIn2S4 nanosheets. This synthesis method makes ZnIn2S4 nanosheets and cellulose tightly bound and prevents ZnIn2S4 nanosheets from stacking in multiple layers. As a proof of concept, the prepared ZnIn2S4/cellulose foam exhibits a favorable performance for photocatalytic reduction of Cr(VI) under visible light. By adjusting the concentration of zinc ions, the optimal ZnIn2S4/cellulose foam is capable to completely reduce Cr(VI) in 2 h and the photocatalytic activities show no decrease after 4 cycles. This work could inspire people to build floating cellulose-based photocatalysts via in-situ synthesis.
RESUMO
Flower-like BiOI was decorated by CdS nanodots and followed by the introduction of iodine vacancies (VI) for photocatalytic sodium lignosulfonate (SLS) valorization under visible light. The iodine vacancies could adjust the band configuration, strengthen the light absorption and act as electron traps, while the intimate contact between BiOI and CdS nanodots provides a high-speed channel for charge transfer. As a consequence, the photocatalytic performance of SLS conversion into value-added vanillin was greatly improved over CdS/BiOI-VI compared with those of CdS, BiOI and CdS/BiOI. The highest yield of vanillin is 10.95 mg/gSLS over CdS/BiOI-VI, about 5, 8.7, 1.3 times those of CdS, BiOI, CdS/BiOI, respectively, and exceeding most related photocatalysts reported elsewhere. More significantly, as to the lignin from Masson pine and alkali lignin, the corresponding vanillin yield can reach 7.04 and 6.54 mg/glignin, respectively, under the same condition, which suggests the great potential and universality for photocatalytic lignin valorization over such CdS/BiOI-VI heterostructure.

Background: The effectiveness of robotic-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (RATS) for mediastinal masses has not been fully evaluated. This study aimed to compare the perioperative outcomes between RATS and video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for mediastinal masses, and then explore which group of people would benefit more from RATS. Methods: This retrospective study compared the perioperative outcomes of patients with mediastinal masses who underwent RATS and VATS from September 2018 to December 2021. Subgroup analysis were performed according to body mass index (BMI) ranges. Results: A total of 212 patients with mediastinal masses (106 RATS cases and 106 VATS cases) were included. Compared with the VATS group, the RATS group had a significantly reduced incidence of overall postoperative complications (5.7% vs. 14.2%, p = 0.039), complications of grade II or less (3.8% vs. 12.3%, p = 0.023), and pneumonia (2.8% vs. 9.4%, p = 0.045). Hospitalization costs were significantly higher in the RATS group (¥ 49350.0 vs. ¥ 32551.9, p < 0.001). There was no significant difference in operation duration, intraoperative estimated blood loss, postoperative chest tube drainage volume, NRS pain score, day of chest tube removal, complications of grade III or more, or in-hospital mortality rate (p > 0.05). Subgroup analysis indicated that the incidence of overall postoperative complications (3.1% vs. 15.2%, p = 0.017), complications of grade II or less (1.5% vs. 12.1%, p = 0.033) and postoperative length of stay (4 days vs. 4.5 days, p = 0.046) were significantly reduced in the RATS group for overweight and obese patients (BMI ≥ 24â kg/m2), while these differences became insignificant in the BMI < 24â kg/m2 subgroup. Conclusion: RATS could reduce the incidence of postoperative complications, shorten the postoperative length of stay and might be a more cost-effective surgical treatment for overweight and obese patients with mediastinal masses.
RESUMO
Background: The efficacy of sublobar resection and selective lymph node dissection is gradually being accepted by thoracic surgeons for patients within early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Nevertheless, there are still some NSCLC patients develop lymphatic metastasis at clinical T1 stage. Lung adenocarcinoma with a micropapillary (MP) component poses a higher risk of lymph node metastasis and recurrence even when the MP component is not predominant. Our study aimed to explore the genetic features and occult lymph node metastasis (OLNM) risk factors in patients with a non-predominant micropapillary component (NP-MPC) in a large of patient's cohort with surgically resected lung adenocarcinoma. Methods: Between January 2019 and December 2021, 6418 patients who underwent complete resection for primary lung adenocarcinoma at the Qilu Hospital of Shandong University. In our study, 442 patients diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma with NP-MPC with a tumor size ≤3 cm were included. Genetic alterations were analyzed using amplification refractory mutation system-polymerase chain reaction (ARMS-PCR). Abnormal protein expression of gene mutations was validated using immunohistochemistry. A nomogram risk model based on clinicopathological parameters was developed to predict OLNM. This model was invalidated using the calibration plot and concordance index. Results: In our retrospective cohort, the incidence rate of the micropapillary component was 11.17%, and OLNM was observed in 20.13% of the patients in our study. ARMS-PCR suggested that EGFR exon 19 del was the most frequent alteration in NP-MCP patients compared with other gene mutations (frequency: 21.2%, P<0.001). Patients harboring exon 19 del showed significantly higher risk of OLNM (P< 0.001). A nomogram was developed based on five risk parameters, which showed good calibration and reliable discrimination ability (C-index = 0.84) for evaluating OLNM risk. Conclusions: Intense expression of EGFR exon 19 del characterizes lung adenocarcinoma in patients with NP-MCP and it's a potential risk factor for OLNM. We firstly established a nomogram based on age, CYFRA21-1 level, tumor size, micropapillary and solid composition, that was effective in predicting OLNM among NP-MCP of lung adenocarcinoma measuring ≤ 3 cm.
RESUMO
Background: In recent years, an increasing number of thoracic surgeons have attempted to apply no routine chest tube drainage (NT) strategy after thoracoscopic lung resection. However, the safety and feasibility of not routinely placing a chest tube after lung resection remain controversial. This study aimed to investigate the effect of NT strategy after thoracoscopic pulmonary resection on perioperative outcomes. Methods: A comprehensive literature search of PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library databases until 3 January 2022 was performed to identify the studies that implemented NT strategy after thoracoscopic pulmonary resection. Perioperative outcomes were extracted by 2 reviewers independently and then synthesized using a random-effects model. Risk ratio (RR) and standardized mean difference (SMD) with 95% confidence interval (CI) served as the summary statistics for meta-analysis. Subgroup analysis and sensitivity analysis were subsequently performed. Results: A total of 12 studies with 1,381 patients were included. The meta-analysis indicated that patients in the NT group had a significantly reduced postoperative length of stay (LOS) (SMD = -0.91; 95% CI: -1.20 to -0.61; P < 0.001) and pain score on postoperative day (POD) 1 (SMD = -0.95; 95% CI: -1.54 to -0.36; P = 0.002), POD 2 (SMD = -0.37; 95% CI: -0.63 to -0.11; P = 0.005), and POD 3 (SMD = -0.39; 95% CI: -0.71 to -0.06; P = 0.02). Further subgroup analysis showed that the difference of postoperative LOS became statistically insignificant in the lobectomy or segmentectomy subgroup (SMD = -0.30; 95% CI: -0.91 to 0.32; P = 0.34). Although the risk of pneumothorax was significantly higher in the NT group (RR = 1.75; 95% CI: 1.14-2.68; P = 0.01), the reintervention rates were comparable between groups (RR = 1.04; 95% CI: 0.48-2.25; P = 0.92). No significant difference was found in pleural effusion, subcutaneous emphysema, operation time, pain score on POD 7, and wound healing satisfactory (all P > 0.05). The sensitivity analysis suggested that the results of the meta-analysis were stabilized. Conclusions: This meta-analysis suggested that NT strategy is safe and feasible for selected patients scheduled for video-assisted thoracoscopic pulmonary resection. RESUMO
BACKGROUND: The effectiveness of robotic-assisted lobectomy (RAL) for patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has not been fully evaluated. METHODS: This retrospective study compared the perioperative outcomes of NSCLC patients who underwent RAL and video-assisted lobectomy (VAL) using propensity score matching (PSM) analysis. Subgroup analyses were then performed. RESULTS: A total of 822 NSCLC patients (359 RAL cases and 463 VAL cases) were included, and there were 292 patients in each group after PSM. Compared with the VAL group, the RAL group had a significantly higher number of lymph nodes (LNs) harvested (10 vs. 8, p < 0.001) and more LN stations examined (6 vs. 5, p < 0.001). The operative duration (95 minutes vs. 115 minutes, p < 0.001) and intraoperative estimated blood loss (65 mL vs. 80 mL, p < 0.001) were significantly reduced, and the drainage volume on postoperative day (POD) 1 (240 mL vs. 200 mL, p < 0.001) and hospitalization costs (¥81084.96 vs. ¥66142.55, p < 0.001) were significantly higher in the RAL group. Subgroup analysis indicated that the incidence of postoperative complications (17.9% vs. 26.7%, p = 0.042) was significantly reduced in the RAL group for overweight and obese patients (body mass index [BMI] ≥24 kg/m2 ), which became insignificant in the BMI < 24 kg/m2 subgroup (31.0% vs. 24.8%, p = 0.307). CONCLUSION: RAL might have potential advantages in terms of lymph node assessment, reducing intraoperative blood loss, and shortening operation duration. Overweight and obese patients could benefit more from RAL because of reduced risk of postoperative complications.

BACKGROUND: It is known that inflammatory bowel disease is the result of a defective immune system, and immunotherapy and biological therapy have gradually become important means to treat it. This paper focused on the bibliometric statistical analysis of the current research progress to summarize the research status of this field and analyze the research trends in recent years. METHODS: Two visualization tools, CiteSpace and VOSviewer, were used to explore the data of journals, institutions, countries/regions, authors, references, and keywords for the literature included in the Web of Science Core Collection from January 1, 2002, to December 31, 2021. RESULTS: A total of 312 papers were published in 120 journals by 603 institutions from 40 countries/regions, with 9463 co-cited references. The United States has the most publications with the highest total citations in the world. Inflammatory Bowel Diseases published the maximum number of papers, and Gastroenterology devoted the most co-citations to immunotherapy and biological therapy for IBD. In addition, we found that the studies before 2009 mostly focused on clinical trials while researchers have paid more attention to clinical management in therapy for IBD since 2009. Combination therapy and management of the treatment for the disease have become research hotspots. CONCLUSION: The focus of immunotherapy and biotherapy for IBD has shifted from clinical trials to the management of the risks and benefits of immunotherapy.

Cellulose-derived carbon (CC) dot-directed growth of ZnIn2 S4 was achieved through hydrothermal treatment of carboxylated cellulose followed by inâ situ growth of ZnIn2 S4 nanosheets. The carbon dots inherited from carboxylated cellulose equip plenty of surface carboxyl groups, which induce the ionic interaction with Zn2+ and In3+ and the guided growth of ZnIn2 S4 . As a result, the nanosheets of ZnIn2 S4 are evenly and intimately grown on the small carbon dots, providing high-speed channels for charges transfer. In conjunction with the reinforced visible-light capture and good conductivity of carbon dots, the resultant CC/ZnIn2 S4 shows an outstanding photocatalytic activity. As a proof-of-concept, visible-light-driven 5-hydroxymethylfurfural oxidation into 2,5-diformylfuran was conducted. The evolution of 2,5-diformylfuran over the optimal CC/ZnIn2 S4 sample can reach â¼2980â µmol g-1 , about 3.4â times that of pristine ZnIn2 S4 . Additionally, the apparent quantum yield could attain 3.4 % at a wavelength of 400â nm.

The oxygen vacancies could efficiently drive the photocatalytic oxidation of aromatic alcohol through the activation of reactants. However, the activation between aromatic alcohol and O2 (oxidant) over oxygen vacancies is rarely studied. Herein, the ZnIn2S4/MIL-121 heterostructure with abundant surface uncoordinated carboxyl was rationally designed for benzyl alcohol (BA) oxidation under visible light. Oxygen vacancies on catalysts were self-induced after the surface complexation between the uncoordinated carboxyl and BA molecules. Based on the reaction results, it is concluded that the oxygen vacancy activation to BA is more effective than that to O2 for BA oxidation over ZnIn2S4/MIL-121 hybrids. Specifically, when the activation fully occurs on BA (reaction in N2), an admirable conversion of 93.9% (corresponding production rate of benzaldehyde: 2348 µmol·g-1·h-1) is achieved, which is 3.4 times that of pure ZnIn2S4, whereas an inferior conversion of 45.9% is obtained in O2 due to the competition effect between O2 and BA for oxygen vacancies.
RESUMO
Photocatalytic conversion of biomass-derived 5-hydroxyfurfural (HMF) to value-added 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furancarboxylic acid (HMFCA) is an environmentally friendly process. Here, Ag nanoparticle (NP) supported on TiO2 (Ag/TiO2 ) materials with different interfacial structures were fabricated via incipient wetness impregnation. In the photocatalytic oxidation of 5-HMF to HMFCA, low-temperature reduction (473â K) on Ag/TiO2 could improve the photoinduced charge separation efficiency and promote the reaction due to the "enhanced" localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) effects achieved through strong metal-support interaction (SMSI). In particular, 2.5 % Ag/TiO2 -LTR exhibited superior performance with an HMFCA selectivity of up to 96.7 % under visible-light illumination. In contrast, the photocatalytic efficiency was greatly reduced when the reduction temperature increased to 773â K because of the encapsulation of Ag NPs by a thicker TiOx overlay, which significantly weakened visible-light harvesting. Overall, these findings offer an efficient methodology for designing interfacial enhanced plasmonic photocatalysts for the valorization of biomass.
