RESUMO

The present study aimed to explore whether the tendency to compare one's abilities and opinions to those of others (social comparison orientation) could longitudinally mediate the association between narcissism and problematic SNS use. A total of 1,196 college students were assessed at three time points over 22 months. The results showed that narcissism at time 1 was positively related to problematic SNS use at time 3 and that ability comparison at time 2 longitudinally mediated the association between narcissism at time 1 and problematic SNS use at time 3, whereas the longitudinal mediating effect of opinion comparison at time 2 was not significant. These findings suggest that narcissism more distally and ability comparison more proximally may be risk factors for engaging in problematic SNS use, and it is important to distinguish between types of social comparisons in problematic SNS use behaviors.

RESUMO

In order to solve the problems of high misevaluation rate and low work efficiency in the process of mental health intelligent evaluation, a method of mental health intelligent evaluation system oriented to the decision tree algorithm is proposed. First, the current research status of mental health intelligent evaluation was analyzed and the framework of mental health intelligent evaluation system was constructed. Then, the mental health intelligent evaluation data were collected and the decision tree algorithm was used to analyze and classify the mental health intelligent evaluation data to obtain the mental health intelligent evaluation results. Finally, specific simulation experiments are used to analyze the feasibility and superiority of the mental health intelligent evaluation system. The experimental results show that the recall rate of each system increases with the increasing number of iterations, and the system has the highest recall rate. Also, it is stable after the number of iterations reaches 20, with good recall and adaptive scheduling performance. The recall rate of comparison system 1 and comparison system 2 fluctuates greatly, and the recall rate is lower than that of the system in this paper. It is proved that the method of the mental health intelligent evaluation system of the decision tree algorithm can effectively solve the problem and improve the accuracy of the mental health intelligent evaluation. The efficiency of mental health intelligent evaluation is improved, and the system stability is better, which can meet the actual requirements of current mental health intelligent evaluation.

BACKGROUND: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, people in many countries have shown xenophobia toward China, where the pandemic began. Within China, xenophobia has also been observed toward the people of Wuhan, the city where the first cases were identified. The relationship between disease threat and xenophobia is well established, but the reasons for this relationship are unclear. This study investigated the mediation role of perceived protection efficacy and moderation role of support seeking in the relationship between perceived COVID-19 risk and xenophobia within China. METHODS: An online survey was administered to a nationally representative sample (N = 1103; 51.7% women; ages 18 to 88) of Chinese adults during the early stage of the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants completed questionnaires about their perceived COVID-19 risk, perceived protection efficacy in reducing risk, support seeking, and xenophobic attitudes toward people of the Wuhan area. RESULTS: Regression based analyses showed that the perceived COVID-19 risk positively predicted xenophobia. Low perceived protection efficacy partly mediated the relationship between perceived COVID-19 risk and xenophobic attitudes, and this indirect effect was moderated by support seeking. Specifically, the indirect effect was weaker among individuals who sought more social support. CONCLUSIONS: Under disease threat, xenophobia can appear within a country that otherwise seems culturally homogeneous. This study extends the extant research by identifying a possible psychological mechanism by which individuals' perception of disease threat elicits xenophobia, and by addressing the question of why this response is stronger among some people than others. Increasing the public's perceived efficacy in protecting themselves from infection, and encouraging support seeking, could reduce xenophobic attitudes.

BACKGROUND: Although the environment of college students is relatively safe, they are faced with the pressure of study, interpersonal relationship, and even future employment, which leads to a variety of psychological disorders, among which stress response is the most common one. As a new concept of healthy self, it is not clear how self - compassion affects students' stress response. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to analyze the role of students' self-compassion based on chronic stress response in negative emotional regulation and coping style selection caused by external pressure, and to provide a theoretical basis for the application of self-compassion in regulating individual emotions in the future. METHODS: The 427 students from many universities in China who have applied for the 2020 postgraduate entrance examination and were preparing for the examination were classified into S1 group (preparation time < 2 months), S2 group (2 months < 5 months), and S3 group (preparation time > 5 months). The students who didn't apply for the examination were set as D0 control group. The total stress response score, learning pressure, and positive and negative emotional scores of each group were compared. The Bootstrapping sampling method was used to examine the mediating effect of self - compassion. The students applying for the examination were classified into high-level self-compassion group (G1) and low-level self-compassion group (G2). RESULTS: The scores of learning stress and negative emotion in S1, S2, and S3 groups were significantly higher than those in D0 group, and S1 > S2 > S3 (P < 0.05). The proportion of students in G1 group who responded to review setbacks in a mature way was significantly higher than that in G2 group, and the proportion of immature type was significantly lower than that of G2 group (P < 0.05). There was a very significant positive correlation between self-compassion and problem solving and asking for help (P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Self-compassion concept can reduce students' negative emotions facing external pressure and protect individual positive emotions. In conclusion, faced at external pressure and stress, individuals with high self-esteem would not escape from their own negative emotions, and were more inclined to choose a positive way to solve problems and seek help from others.

A sequencing batch biofilm reactor under intermittent micro-aerobic or anaerobic conditions was investigated to remove pyridine at various concentrations from synthetic wastewater. The results showed that over 98% of pyridine (influent concentration ≤200 mg L-1) was degraded under intermittent micro-aerobic condition, while about 21% of pyridine was removed under anaerobic condition. Additionally, at least 60% of nitrogen located in the pyridine ring was transformed to ammonium. At the same time, the sulphate reduction was obviously inhibited under intermittent micro-aerobic conditions. The microscopic observation showed that abundant microorganisms were attached on the surface or inside of porous biocarriers under intermittent micro-aerobic conditions after a short-term period of operation. High-throughput sequencing analysis demonstrated that Azotobacter, Rhodobacteraceae and Tolumonas were the dominant species in the intermittent micro-aerobic system. The kinetic study at steady period showed that pyridine degradation was fitted well with the pseudo-first-order model (R2 > 0.96). The two possible intermediate products were identified and the possible biodegradation pathway of pyridine was proposed under micro-aerobic condition.

This study explored the effects of co-composting of lincomycin mycelia dregs (LMDs) with furfural slag on variations in antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) and the bacterial community. The results showed that more than 99% lincomycin was reduced after composting. Moreover, the total absolute and relative abundance of ARGs increased by 180 and 5 times, respectively. The gene lnuA was detected in the LMDs compost and it was proved to participate in lincomycin biodegradation based on the analysis of Pearson's correlation and the lincomycin degradation byproducts. Redundancy analysis showed the succession of the bacterial community had a greater influence than the environmental parameters (residual lincomycin, C/N, pH and temperature) on the variation of ARGs during composting. Composting was not effective in reducing most of the ARGs and intI1 and thus the LMDs compost is dangerous to the ecological environment.

Aerobic composting experiments were conducted using lincomycin mycelia wastes (dreg) and manure (T), using sewage sludge with manure as a control (CK). High performance liquid phase methods and high throughput sequencing were used to determine the concentration of lincomycin residue and to characterize the microbial community. The results showed that lincomycin was reduced significantly, with the concentration decreasing from 1800 mg·kg-1 to 483 mg·kg-1, accounting for 73% degradation. In addition, the bacterial community abundance and diversity indices were all lower than that of sludge-manure at the mesophilic and thermophilic phases, because of the high concentration of lincomycin residue in lincomycin mycelia dreg. By contrast, the fungal community abundance and diversity indices showed the reverse, due to the high content of organic matter and nitrogen in lincomycin mycelia dreg. Therefore, the microbial communities were greatly different between T and CK treatment with the domain genera of Paucisalibacillus, Cerasibacillus, Bacillus, Virgibacillus, Ureibacillus, Paenibacillus, and Sinibacillus in T compost and Truepera, Actinomadura, Pseudosphingobacterium, Pseudomonas, Luteimonas and Ureibacillus in CK compost. However, as the composting continued to a mature phase, most of the lincomycin was reduced, and the differences between the two microbial communities gradually decreased. This showed that composting could make lincomycin mycelia dreg harmless and could be used to turn it into a resource.

This paper investigated the effect of co-composting of lincomycin mycelia dregs (LMDs) with furfural slag on the degradation of lincomycin, maturity and microbial communities. Results showed that after 66 days composting, the concentration of lincomycin was removed above 99%. The final pH, C/N and germination index (GI) all met the national standards in maturity. Enumeration of total cultivable microbes showed the composting process was not inhibited by the addition of LMDs. Microbial diversity suggested that co-composting was beneficial to increase the abundance and diversity of bacterial communities for LMDs' treatment. Canonical correlation analysis (CCA) indicated the bacteria communities were strongly affected by residual lincomycin, with lincomycin reduced greatly, microbial communities of T and CK became similar at the end of composting. The potential bacteria to degrade lincomycin were Anaerococcus, Peptostreptococcus, and Lactobacillus. Based on these results, this research indicated that the co-composting was a feasible treatment for LMDs.

In order to learn the enzymatic hydrolysis characteristics of steam-explosion pretreated corn straw by cellulase, the effects of substrate concentration, cellulase concentration and temperature were determined. The kinetics of the hydrolysis reaction could be described with the Michealis-Menten equation, and the hydrolysis reaction obeyed the classical first-order reaction rate in the first three hours. In the condition of 45 degrees C and pH 5.0 and the stirring rate 120 r/min, the Michealis constant (Km) and maximum rate (Vm) for 1.2 FPU/mL of cellulase were 11.71 g/L and 1.5 g/(L x h). The kinetic model, including the parameters such as substrate concentration, enzymatic concentration and temperature, was suit for the hydrolysis reaction under the temperature range from 30 degrees C-50 degrees C.
