RESUMO
It was shown that the exposure of a recombinant reverse transcriptase of human immunodeficiency virus HIV-1 to bidistilled modified water substantially decreases the RNA-dependent DNA polymerase activity of this enzyme.

The effect of weak direct and alternative magnetic fields adjusted to cyclotron frequencies of ions of polar amino acids leads to a functional inactivation of the recombinant reverse transcriptase of Rous sarcoma virus, which is coupled with the proteolysis of this enzyme.

It was shown that combined action of weak magnetic fields adjusted to cyclotronic frequencies of polar amino acids ions, on aqueous solutions of acidic non-histone protein-inhibitor of DNAase 1 led to proteolysis of this inhibitor. The fragments obtained as a result of proteolysis differ from the whole molecule by amino acid composition and the time of elution from column in case of HPLC.

The recombinant reverse transcriptase of HIV-1 virus has been isolated from Escherichia coli cells transformed by the plasmid pRT40 DNA. The 103 Kd protein produced by these cells is shown to be processed to proteins with lower molecular masses by the reverse transcriptases own protease activity as well as Escherichia coli proteases. The resulting 103-66 Kd proteins possess the polymerase activity while 51 Kd and smaller proteins are lacking the activity. The 66 and 51 Kd reverse transcriptase fragments demonstrate the positive immunological reaction with the human blood serum from the people possessing antibodies to HIV-1 virus. The recombinant reverse transcriptase of HIV-1 produced by Escherichia coli cells is shown to be useful in AIDS diagnosis in humans.

Taxonomic analysis was carried out and DNA-DNA homology studied in cultures of subgroups formed by numerical classification of 124 Pseudomonas fluorescens and P. putida strains. The GC content in the DNA of strains belonging to P. fluorescens subgroups varied from 61.2 to 64.5%, and their DNA-DNA homology with the type strain P. fluorescens ATCC 13525 was 24 to 83%. The lowest genome relatedness with the type culture was found in biotype C of P. fluorescens and P. aureofaciens strains. The GC content in the DNA of strains belonging to two subgroups formed by numerical classification of P. putida varied from 63.8 to 65.0%, and the homology of their DNA with the DNA of the type strain of P. fluorescens was 0 to 10% (for strains of the first and second subgroups, respectively).

By comparing the data on the nucleotide composition of DNA, and the phenotypic characteristics, most of the representatives of the genus Aeromonas were clearly differentiated from NAG vibrios isolated in the process of sanitary control of the environment. At the same time some microorganisms with the Aeromonas phenotype, but having a different DNA structure were detected. The use of the method of molecular DNA hybridization indicated that these bacteria were the taxons analogous to the genus Aeromonas.
