PURPOSE: To explore the complications and prognostic factors after titanium mesh ultra-early cranioplasty (CP) after decompressive craniectomy (DC) for craniocerebral trauma. METHOD: From January 2020 to November 2022, 44 patients with craniocerebral trauma who needed ultra-early-CP after DC were collected. The basic data of NIHSS, GCS, mRS and MoCA scores of patients were collected, and the complications and prognosis of patients 3 months after operation were collected. Multivariate Logistic regression was used to analyze the prognostic factors. RESULTS: Compared with preoperative, the postoperative NIHSS score of patients with ultra-early-CP decreased, the postoperative GCS score increased, the postoperative mRS score decreased (P<0.05), and the postoperative MoCA score was higher. Postoperative complications occurred in 42 patients with ultra-early-CP. There were 37 complications, including 7 cases of hydroaccumulation, 18 cases of hematocele, 11 cases of pneumatosis, 3 cases of scalp swelling, 2 cases of epilepsy, 10 cases of hydrocephalus and 1 case of intracranial infection, and no incision infection occurred. Age and postoperative NIHSS score were related factors affecting the poor prognosis of ultra-early-CP patients (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Ultra-early-CP can promote the recovery of neurological function, reduce the disturbance of consciousness, improve daily living ability and improve cognitive function in patients with craniocerebral trauma, but there is a high risk of postoperative complications. In addition, age and postoperative NIHSS score are related factors affecting the poor prognosis of ultra-early-CP patients.

Background: Globally, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) accounts for approximately 90% of diabetes cases. Resistance training (RT) is frequently employed to diminish Glycated Hemoglobin (HbA1c) and Fast Blood Glucose (FBG) levels in T2DM patients. Yet, the specific dose-response relationships between RT variables such as training duration, frequency, and intensity for T2DM remain under-researched. Objectives: This meta-analysis aimed to elucidate the overarching effects of RT on HbA1c and FBG metrics and to provide dose-response relationships of RT variables. This was achieved by examining randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that reported reductions in HbA1c and FBG among T2DM patients. Methods: Comprehensive literature searches were conducted up to 25th February 2023 across databases including EMBASE, Pubmed, Cochrane, CENTRAL, Web of Science, CNKI, Wanfang Data, VIP Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals, and the Chinese Biomedical Database. The Physical Therapy Evidence Database (PEDro) was leveraged to appraise the quality of selected studies based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The meta-analysis was conducted using Stata 16. Results: 26 studies that include 1336 participants met the criteria for inclusion. RT significantly reduced HbA1c and FBG levels in comparison to control groups (P<0.05). Meta-regression analyses revealed that the number of repetitions per set (p=0.034) was a significant predictor of RT's efficacy on HbA1c. Subgroup analyses indicated that the most pronounced reductions in HbA1c and FBG occurred with a training duration of 12-16 weeks, intensities of 70-80% of 1 RM, training frequencies of 2-3 times per week, 3 sets per session, 8-10 repetitions per set, and less than a 60-second rest interval. Conclusion: The beneficial impact of RT on HbA1c and FBG in T2DM patients is affirmed by this systematic review and meta-analysis. Moreover, the critical training parameters identified in this study are pivotal in enhancing HbA1c and FBG reductions, providing a reference for clinical staff to formulate RT exercise regiments for T2DM patients. Purpose: To understand existing negative emotions in patients with coronary heart disease after percutaneous coronary stent implantation (PCI) and analyse its influencing factors. Methods: Patients with coronary heart disease after PCI in three tertiary hospitals in Changsha City from April to September 2018 were selected as the research subjects. The self-designed general information questionnaire assessed irritability, depression and anxiety (IDA) on a self-rating scale. It was used to examine patients' existing negative emotions with coronary heart disease after PCI and analyse the influencing factors. Results: 203 questionnaires were distributed, and 202 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 99.5%. The IDA score of patients with coronary heart disease after PCI was 17.01±7.60 points, the incidence of negative emotions was 63.8%, and the incidences of depression, anxiety and irritability were 39.6%, 8.4% and 15.8%, respectively. Negative emotion was taken as the dependent variable and a patient's general data, such as lifestyle and disease, as the independent variables. A univariate analysis was conducted to obtain gender, age, educational level, marital status, work status, per capita monthly household income, sleep status, etc. Seven factors were identified as the influencing factors of negative emotions in patients with coronary heart disease after PCI, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Most patients with coronary heart disease after PCI tend to exhibit negative emotions such as anxiety and depression. Medical staff should attach great importance to evaluating any negative feelings in this group and take timely targeted intervention measures to prevent and mitigate the occurrence and development of these adverse emotions in patients with coronary heart disease after PCI.

A total of 215 patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) were analyzed with SPSS. Samples of different genders showed significance in the obtuse marginal branch of the left circumflex branch × 1, the diagonal branch D1 × 1, and the ms PV representation. Patients with left circumflex branch occlusion are more male and tend to be younger. Age displayed a positive correlation with left intima-media thickness (IMT) and right IMT. This indicated that as age increases, the values of left IMT and right IMT increase. Samples of different CHD types showed significance in the obtuse marginal branch of the left circumflex branch × 1, the middle part of RCA × 1, and the middle part of the left anterior descending branch × 1.5. For non-ST-segment elevation angina pectoris with acute total vascular occlusion, the left circumflex artery is the most common, followed by the right coronary artery and anterior descending branch. Ultrasound of carotid IMT in patients with CHD can predict changes in left ventricular function, but no specific correlation between left and right common carotid IMT was found. Samples with or without the medical history of ASCVD showed significance in the branch number of coronary vessel lesions. The value of the branch number of coronary vessel lesions in patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) was higher than in those without ASCVD. The occurrence of complication is significantly relative with the distance of left circumflex branch × 1, the middle segment of left anterior descending branch × 1.5, and the distance of left anterior descending branch × 1. For patients without complications, the values in the distal left circumflex branch × 1, the middle left anterior descending branch × 1.5, and the distal left anterior descending branch × 1 were higher than those for patients with complications. The VTE scores showed a positive correlation with the proximal part of RCA × 1, the branch number of coronary vessel lesions, the posterior descending branch of left circumflex branch × 1, the distal part of left circumflex branch × 1, and the middle part of left anterior descending branch × 1.5.

Glioma is characterized by high morbidity, high mortality and poor prognosis. Recent studies exhibited that lncRNA CCAT2 is overexpressed in glioma and promotes glioma progression, but the specific molecular biological mechanism remains to be determined. We performed qRT-PCR to evaluate the expression of related genes, Western blotting analysis to measure protein levels, colony formation assay to detect the proliferative ability of glioma cells, flow cytometry to measure cell apoptosis, bioinformatics analysis and dual luciferase assay to verify the binding sites and the targeted regulatory relationship in A172 and U251 cell lines and tube formation assay to determine endothelial angiogenesis. LncRNA CCAT2 and VEGFA were highly expressed, while miR-424 was expressed at low levels in NHA cells. Furthermore, knockdown of lncRNA CCAT2 decreased cell proliferation, increased cell apoptosis and inhibited endothelial angiogenesis in glioma. Moreover, lncRNA CCAT2 shared a complementary sequence with miR-424 which in turn directly bound to the 3'-UTR of VEGFA. Further investigation indicated that lncRNA CCAT2 promoted cell proliferation and endothelial angiogenesis by inducing the PI3K/AKT signalling pathway in glioma. The oncogenic lncRNA CCAT2 is highly associated with the development of glioma and exerts its function by upregulating VEGFA via miR-424.

BACKGROUND: Glioma is a common malignant tumor of the human central nervous system, and the pathological characteristics include invasive growth, angiogenesis, and so on. Ectopic expression of miR-503 works as a critical factor in cancer cell proliferation, migration, and capillary-like tube formation. The potential mechanisms of miR-503 in angiogenesis of glioma cells are still not reported. METHODS: The expression levels of miR-503, LRIG2, and VEGFA mRNA and protein were performed by quantitative reverse transcription-PCR or Western blot assay. Dual-Luciferase reporter gene assay was used to determine the interaction between miR-503 and LRIG2. The concentration of VEGFA was measured using the ELISA method. The cell proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis of cocultured HCMEC/D3 cells were analyzed by MTT assay, transwell detection, and tube formation assay, respectively. RESULTS: The expression levels of LRIG2 and VEGFA were reduced in glioma cells with miR-503 overexpression and enhanced with miR-503 inhibition. Moreover, cell proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis of cocultured HCMEC/D3 cells were alleviated with miR-503 mimics transfection. VEGFA and miR-503 inhibitor promoted cell proliferation, cell migration, and angiogenesis. Luciferase reporter gene assay revealed that miR-503 could directly target LRIG2. Furthermore, knockdown of LRIG2 or addition of VEGF inhibitor bevacizumab could abrogate the effect of miR-503 inhibitor on VEGFA expression, as well as the promotion of cell proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis. CONCLUSION: MiR-503 mediated LRIG2 suppression and regulated the expression of VEGFA, thereby reducing cell proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis of glioma cells. These results provide new insight into the action mechanism of miR-503-modulated signaling pathway in angiogenesis of glioma cells.
