[Personal experience with the areolar rotation technic in surgical treatment of gigantomastia]. / Nase zkusenosti s technikou rotace dvorce u chirurgické lécby gigantomastie.

The authors present a less commonly used method in reduction and modelling of gigantomastia. They draw attention to the advantages of this surgical procedure which is based on rotation of the areola with a broad upper and lateral pedicle. They emphasize in particular the very good postoperative nutrition of the areolas with preservation of their sensitivity.

Our experience with the technique of areolar rotation in reduction mammaplasty.

In the article, the authors present a relatively uncommon method employed for breast reduction and moulding in gigantomastia. They examine the benefits of the surgical technique based on areolar rotation with a wide superior-lateral dermal areolar flap. The authors point out the fact that postoperative blood supply to the areolas is very good while their sensitivity is preserved.

The authors submit a case of severe injury with high tension electric current. They emphasize the necessity of prevention of this injury which occurs most frequently when transformer stations are not adequately safeguarded, in case of inadequate protection when approaching trolley wires on the railway track, and when safety principles are not respected during work on the railway. The authors draw attention to the importance of immediate resuscitation and multidisciplinary comprehensive care.
