RESUMO

"Polymer-in-ceramic" (PIC) electrolytes are widely investigated for all-solid-state batteries (ASSBs) due to their good thermal stability and mechanical performance. However, achieving fast and diversified lithium-ion transport inside the PIC electrolyte and uniform Li+ deposition at the electrolyte/Li anode interface simultaneously remains a challenge. Besides, the effect of ceramic particle size on Li+ transport and Li anodic compatibility is still unclear, which is essential for revealing the enhanced mechanism of the performance for PIC electrolytes. Herein, PIC with moderate ceramic size and contents are prepared and studied to strike a balance between ionic conductivity and anodic compatibility. Through moderate filler-filler interfacial impedance and appropriate surface roughness, a particle size of 17 µm is optimized to facilitate homogeneous Li+ flux on anode and enhance Li+ conductivity of the electrolyte. The PIC electrolyte with ceramic particle size of 17 µm achieves a high lithium ion transference number (0.74) and an ionic conductivity of 4.11 × 10-4 S cm-1 at 60 °C. The Li/PIC/Li symmetric cell can stably cycle for 2800 h at 0.2 mA cm-2 with 0.2 mAh cm-2. Additionally, the Li/PIC/LiFePO4 cell also delivers a superior cycling performance at 0.5C, a high capacity retention of 93.28% after 100 cycles and 83.17% after 200 cycles, respectively.

RESUMO

As an attractive cathode candidate for sodium-ion batteries, P2-type Na2/3Ni1/3Mn2/3O2 is famous for its high stability in humid air, attractive capacity, and high operating voltage. However, the low Na+ transport kinetics, oxygen-redox reactions, and irreversible structural evolution at high-voltage areas hinder its practical application. Herein, a comprehensive study of a microbar P2-type Ni2/3Ni1/4Mg1/12Mn2/3O2 material with {010} facets is presented, which exhibits high reversibility of structural evolution and anionic redox activity, leading to outstanding rate capability and cyclability. The notable rate performance (53 mA h g-1 at 20 C, 2.0-4.3 V) contributed to the high exposure of {010} facets via controlling the growth orientation of the precursor, which is certified by density functional theory calculation and lattice structural analysis. Mg substitution strengthens the reversibility of anionic oxygen redox and structural evolution in high-voltage areas that was confirmed by the in situ X-ray diffraction and ex situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy tests, leading to outstanding cyclic reversibility (68.9% after 1000 cycles at 5 C) and slowing down the voltage fading. This work provides new insights into constructing electrochemically active planes combined with heteroatom substitution to improve the Na+ transport kinetics and structural stability of layered oxide cathodes for sodium storage.

RESUMO

We report the synthesis of spent cathode carbon (SCC) with a NaF interface from aluminum electrolysis, and its application as a Na metal anode host. The SCC anode exhibits superior ion conductivity and a high shear modulus. The natural NaF interface on the SCC anode can regulate Na+ transmission and inhibit dendrite growth. Furthermore, the anode can be used to turn waste into treasure through directly using spent cathodic carbon without any chemical processing. The green SCC electrode exhibits a higher flat voltage and better reversibility compared with purified cathode carbon without NaF.

RESUMO

Objective: Wild animal pathogen surveillance will help to understand the next possible pandemic in advance. Rodents, which have close contact with humans, are generally regarded as a key factor for zoonotic disease control. Given the variation in rodent virus composition in diverse ecologies, we conducted a study on the viral infection of rodents of diverse species in different typical environments of Heilongjiang and Yunnan Provinces, located in northeastern and southwestern China, respectively. Methods: Viral metagenomics sequencing and bioinformatic analysis were performed to determine the different distributions of rodent-borne viruses in typical environments of Heilongjiang and Yunnan Provinces, China. After viral culture and PCR confirmation, genomic and phylogenetic quantitative analysis was performed on the detected hantaviruses (HVs) and Beilong viruses (BeiVs). Results: Nineteen rodents from three species and 35 rodents from five species of rodents were collected from Heilongjiang and Yunnan Provinces, respectively. Although the number and number of species of rodents trapped in the northeast were fewer than those in the southwest, viruses annotated from rodents in Heilongjiang were more diverse than those in Yunnan. Rodents carried 22 virus families in Heilongjiang and 13 families in Yunnan. Sequences assembled from Rattus norvegicus were annotated to the M, L, and S segments of HV, and all were clustered within the Seoul-type hantavirus (SEOV). There were 2 (R81Q, S698T) and 4 (K153R, M168I, I279S, and R1790K) amino acid site substitutions in M and L compared with the versions in the most homologous strains. Two BeiV isolates from Rattus norvegicus were closely related to BeiV from brown rats in Hong Kong, with high bootstrap values of >90% in the N segment and > 95% in the L segment. They were further clustered with Tailam virus, forming a distinct group in Paramyxoviridae. Conclusion: The rodents from Heilongjiang and Yunnan located in northeast and southwest China, respectively, had different viral spectra, and only one-third (10/32) of virus families were detected in both areas. The predominant viruses were HV and BeiV in the Hantaviridae and Paramyxoviridae families, respectively. Rodent-borne viruses in the same species were similar in different geographic disparate areas owing to their similar close contact with human habitats and human activities. Additional attention should be given to the monitoring of neglected rodent-borne viruses, especially opportunistic viruses with currently low loads.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Cerebral microbleeds (CMBs) are bleeding events associated with cerebral small vessel disease (SVD). Strictly lobar CMBs and strictly deep CMBs are likely caused by cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) and hypertensive arteriopathy, respectively. Leukoaraiosis (LA) reflects an ischaemic change in SVD, and LA severity has been correlated with CMBs. However, whether different locations (aetiologies) of CMBs correlate with LA is unknown. METHODS: Patients receiving brain MRI and tbl2*-weighted gradient-recalled echo scans in a stroke outpatient department were screened for CMBs. The MRI results of the patients with CMBs were sent to investigators for further review and were evaluated using the Microbleed Anatomical Rating Scale. Cerebral microbleed severity was graded using a numerical scale. Leukoaraiosis severity was assessed using the Fazekas scale. RESULTS: Cerebral microbleeds were observed in 14.6% of the 1289 screened patients. The CMB incidence increased with age (in years, < 50: 1.3%; 50-59: 10.7%; 60-69: 17.6% and ≥ 70: 23.6%; P = 0.000). The CMB locations were distributed as follows: 23.4% strictly lobar, 12.2% strictly deep, 6.4% strictly infratentorial and 58.0% mixed. Cerebral microbleed severity correlated with the total Fazekas scale score. The numbers of lobar, deep and infratentorial CMBs correlated with the total Fazekas scale score. The mixed CMB group displayed a significantly higher Fazekas scale score than the strictly lobar CMB group (P = 0.000). DISCUSSION: Cerebral microbleed incidence increased with age. Mixed CMB type displayed the highest incidence. The severity and number of CMBs at any location correlated with LA severity. These results suggested interactions between hypertension and CAA during LA progression.
