Background: Neuroblastoma is one of the most common extracranial malignant solid tumors in children. AlkB homolog 5 (ALKBH5) is an RNA N6-methyladenosine (m6A) demethylase that plays a critical role in tumorigenesis and development. We assessed the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in ALKBH5 and the risk of neuroblastoma in a case-control study including 402 patients and 473 non-cancer controls. Methods: Genotyping was determined by the TaqMan method. The association between ALKBH5 polymorphisms (rs1378602 and rs8400) and the risk of neuroblastoma was evaluated using the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI). Results: We found no strong association of ALKBH5 rs1378602 and rs8400 with neuroblastoma risk. Further stratification analysis by age, sex, primary site, and clinical stage showed that the rs1378602 AG/AA genotype was associated with a lower risk of neuroblastoma in males (adjusted OR = 0.58, 95% CI = 0.35-0.97, p = 0.036) and children with retroperitoneal neuroblastoma (adjusted OR = 0.58, 95% CI = 0.34-0.98, p = 0.040). Conclusions: ALKBH5 SNPs do not seem to be associated with neuroblastoma risk. More studies are required to confirm this negative result and reveal the relationship between gene polymorphisms of the m6A modifier ALKBH5 and neuroblastoma.

Skin aging is characterized by the disruption of skin homeostasis and impaired skin injury repair. Treatment of aging skin has long been limited by the unclear intervention targets and delivery techniques. Engineering extracellular vesicles (EVs) as an upgraded version of natural EVs holds great potential in regenerative medicine. In this study, we found that the expression of the critical antioxidant and detoxification gene Gstm2 was significantly reduced in aging skin. Thus, we constructed the skin primary fibroblasts-derived EVs encapsulating Gstm2 mRNA (EVsGstm2), and found that EVsGstm2 could significantly improve skin homeostasis and accelerate wound healing in aged mice. Mechanistically, we found that EVsGstm2 alleviated oxidative stress damage of aging dermal fibroblasts by modulating mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, and promoted dermal fibroblasts to regulate skin epidermal cell function by paracrine secretion of Nascent Polypeptide-Associated Complex Alpha subunit (NACA). Furthermore, we confirmed that NACA is a novel skin epidermal cell protective molecule that regulates skin epidermal cell turnover through the ROS-ERK-ETS-Cyclin D pathway. Our findings demonstrate the feasibility and efficacy of EVs-mediated delivery of Gstm2 for aged skin treatment and unveil novel roles of GSTM2 and NACA for improving aging skin.

BACKGROUND: Human toxocariasis is a neglected parasitic disease characterised by the syndromes visceral, cerebral, and ocular larva migrans. This disease is caused by the migrating larvae of Toxocara roundworms from dogs and cats, affecting 1.4 billion people globally. Via extracellular vesicles (EVs), microRNAs have been demonstrated to play roles in host-parasite interactions and proposed as circulating biomarkers for the diagnosis and follow-up of parasitic diseases. METHODS: Small RNA-seq was conducted to identify miRNAs in the infective larvae of T. canis and plasma EV-containing preparations of infected BALB/c mice. Differential expression analysis and target prediction were performed to indicate miRNAs involved in host-parasite interactions and miRNAs associated with visceral and/or cerebral larva migrans in the infected mice. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used to amplify circulating miRNAs from the infected mice. RESULTS: This study reports host and parasite miRNAs in the plasma of BALB/c mice with visceral and cerebral larva migrans and demonstrates the alterations of these miRNAs during the migration of larvae from the livers through the lungs and to the brains of infected mice. After filtering unspecific changes in an irrelevant control, T. canis-derived miRNAs and T. canis infection-induced differential miRNAs are predicted to modulate genes consistently involved in mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signalling and pathways regulating axon guidance and pluripotency of stem in the infected mice with visceral and cerebral larva migrans. For these plasma circulating miRNAs predicted to be involved in host-parasite crosstalk, two murine miRNAs (miR-26b-5p and miR-122-5p) are experimentally verified to be responsive to larva migrans and represent circulating biomarker candidates for visceral and cerebral toxocariasis in BALB/c mice. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings provide novel insights into the crosstalk of T. canis and the mammalian host via plasma circulating miRNAs, and prime agents and indicators for visceral and cerebral larva migrans. A deep understanding of these aspects will underpin the diagnosis and control of toxocariasis in humans and animals.

BACKGROUND: The mechanism underlying the formation of gastric tumor deposits (TDs) is unclear. We aimed to explore the risk factors for the formation and prognostic value of TDs. METHODS: This retrospective analysis included 781 locally advanced gastric cancer (LAGC) patients from four medical institutions in China, from June 2014 to June 2018. The risk factors for TD formation and prognostic value were determined through univariate and multivariate analyses. RESULTS: Univariate analysis revealed that TD positivity was closely related to tumor diameter, Borrmann classification, differentiation degree, pT stage, pN stage, pTNM stage, and nerve and vascular invasion (p < 0.05). Multivariate logistic regression revealed that tumor diameter ≥ 5 cm (odds ratio [OR] 1.836, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.165-2.894, p = 0.009) and vascular invasion (OR 2.152, 95% CI 1.349-3.433, p = 0.001) were independent risk factors for TD positivity. Multivariate Cox analysis revealed that TD positivity (OR 1.533, 95% CI 1.101-2.134, p = 0.011), tumor diameter ≥ 5 cm (OR 1.831, 95% CI 1.319-2.541, p < 0.001), pT4a stage (OR 1.652, 95% CI 1.144-2.386, p = 0.007), and vascular invasion (OR 1.458, 95% CI 1.059-2.008, p = 0.021) were independent risk factors for GC prognosis. The 5-year overall and disease-free survival of the TD-positive group showed significant effects among patients in the pT4a and pN3b stages (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: TDs are closely related to tumor diameter and vascular invasion in LAGC patients, and TD positivity is an independent prognostic factor for LAGC patients, especially those at pT4a and pN3b stages.

PURPOSE: To explore the high-risk factors for rectal cancer No.253 lymph node metastasis (LNM) and to construct a risk nomogram for the individualized prediction of No.253 LNM. METHODS: This was a retrospective analysis of 425 patients with rectal cancer who underwent laparoscopic-assisted radical surgery. Independent risk factors for rectal cancer No.253 LNM was identified using multivariate logistic regression analysis, and a risk prediction nomogram was constructed based on the independent risk factors. In addition, the performance of the model was evaluated by discrimination, calibration, and clinical benefit. RESULTS: Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that No.253 lymphadenectasis on CT (OR 10.697, P < 0.001), preoperative T4-stage (OR 4.431, P = 0.001), undifferentiation (OR 3.753, P = 0.004), and preoperative Ca199 level > 27 U/ml (OR 2.628, P = 0.037) were independent risk factors for No.253 LNM. A nomogram was constructed based on the above four factors. The calibration curve of the nomogram was closer to the ideal diagonal, indicating that the nomogram had a better fitting ability. The area under the ROC curve (AUC) was 0.865, which indicated that the nomogram had high discriminative ability. In addition, decision curve analysis (DCA) showed that the model could show better clinical benefit when the threshold probability was between 1% and 50%. CONCLUSION: Preoperative No.253 lymphadenectasis on CT, preoperative T4-stage, undifferentiation, and elevated preoperative Ca199 level were found to be independent risk factors for the No.253 LNM. A predictive model based on these risk factors can help surgeons make rational clinical decisions.

The innate immunity of bivalves serves as the initial defense mechanism against environmental pollutants, ultimately impacting genetic regulatory networks through synergistic interactions. Previous research has demonstrated variations in the accumulation and tolerance capacities of bivalves; however, the specific mechanism underlying the low accumulation of PSTs in M. unguiculatus remains unclear. This study examined the alterations in feeding behavior and transcriptional regulation of M. unguiculatus following exposure to two Alexandrium strains with distinct toxin profiles, specifically gonyautoxin (AM) and N-sulfocarbamoyl toxin (AC). The total accumulation rate of PSTs in M. unguiculatus was 43.64 % (AC) and 27.80 % (AM), with highest PSTs content in the AM group (455.39 µg STXeq/kg). There were significant variations (P < 0.05) in physiological parameters, such as total hemocyte count, antioxidant superoxide activity and tissue damage in both groups. The absorption rate was identified as the key factor influencing toxin accumulation. Transcriptomic analyses demonstrated that PSTs triggered upregulation of endocytosis, lysosome, and immune-related signaling pathways. Furthermore, PSTs induced a nucleotide imbalance in the AC group, with total PSTs content serving as the most toxic indicator. These results suggested that protein-like substances had a crucial role in the stress response of M. unguiculatus to PSTs. This study provided novel perspectives on the impacts of intricate regulatory mechanisms and varying immune responses to PSTs in bivalves.

Natural killer (NK) cells represent key player in immune surveillance to eliminate transformed or malignant cells. One of mechanisms of action of NK cells is antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) by recognizing tumor antigens on the surface of cancer cells. However, the heterogeneity of tumor antigens and the scarcity of membrane surface targets significantly restrict this strategy. Recently, we constructed a new cargo by tethering a low pH insertion peptide (pHLIP) to the C terminus of the ectodomain of programed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) and demonstrated its ability to modulate immune responses. Herein, the potential application of PD-L1-pHLIP in cancer therapy was determined. pHLIP tethering had no effect on the binding capacity of PD-L1 protein to an anti-PD-L1 antibody (i.e. avelumab). Association of pHLIP rendered PD-L1 segment display on the surface of cellular membrane in the acidic buffer instead of the neutral solution. Importantly, plate-coated or beads-coupled PD-L1-pHLIP enable robust activation and expression of cytotoxic mediators of NK cells via engaging avelumab. Overall, this work provides proof of concept that recombinant PD-L1 protein decorated on the cellular membrane driven by pHLIP in combination with appropriate monoclonal antibody has potentials to elicit NK cytotoxicity, which may represent a novel and promising therapeutic avenue in cancer.

Aim: To explore the abundance and diversity of the gut microbiota in patients with lung cancer accompanied by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (LC-COPD). Methods: The study cohort comprised 15 patients with LC-COPD, 49 patients with lung cancer, and 18 healthy control individuals. ELISA was used to detect inflammatory factors in venous blood. 16S rDNA sequencing was performed to determine the abundance and diversity of the gut microbiota. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was used to determine the concentration of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in feces samples. Results: The α-diversity index indicated that the richness and diversity of the gut microbiota were lower in patients with LC-COPD compared with patients with lung cancer and controls. Principal component analysis revealed significant differences among the three groups (P < 0.05). The linear discriminant analysis effect size algorithm indicated that the o_Lactobacillales, g_Lactobaccillus, f_Lactobaccillaceae, s_Lactobaccillus_oris, c_Bacilli, g_Anaerofustis, s_uncultured organism, and s_bacterium_P1C10 species were prevalent in patients with LC-COPD, while the g_Clostridium_XIVa and g_Butyricicoccus species were prevalent in patients with lung cancer. Furthermore, the concentrations of the SCFAs butyric acid, isobutyric acid, isovaleric acid, and valeric acid tended to be lower in patients with LC-COPD compared with patients with lung cancer and healthy controls, although these intergroup differences were not significant (P > 0.05). Patients with lung cancer had the lowest serum concentration of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-a. There were no intergroup differences in the concentrations of other inflammatory factors. Conclusions: The present study indicated that the abundance and structure of the gut microbiota is altered, and the concentrations of SCFAs may be decreased in patients with LC-COPD. In addition, patients with lung cancer had the lowest serum concentration of TNF-a.

In this paper, MoS2-CuGaO2 composites were successfully synthesized by hydrothermal method. The composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), respectively. The specific surface area and pore size distribution were obtained by N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms. The gas sensing property measurements were conducted. The sensitivity of pure CuGaO2 based gas sensor to 100 ppm acetic acid and benzene vapor was 1.4 at 25oC. The sensitivity of MoS2-CuGaO2 composite (M - 5) was 6.0 towards 100 ppm ethanol vapor at 25oC. And the detection limit of MoS2-CuGaO2 (M - 5) based sensor was 0.1 ppm. The results demonstrated that MoS2 had effect on the selectivity and sensitivity of the MoS2-CuGaO2 composites. M - 5 composite is considered to be promising for ethanol sensing application in room temperature.

The presence of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia in aquatic environments poses great health risks to immunocompromised individuals because of its multidrug resistance and resultant high mortality. However, a significant gap exists in the isolation and understanding of colistin-resistant S. maltophilia in aquatic environments. In this study, nine colistin-resistant S. maltophilia strains isolated from natural lakes were explored, and their phylogenetic relationship, biofilm formation, virulence, and antibiotic resistance profiles and underlying genetic determinants were assessed. After genome analysis, besides known multi-locus sequence typing (MLST) of ST532, new assigned ST965 and ST966 which phylogenetically clustered into soil isolates were found firstly. All the isolates exhibited resistance to multiple antibiotics, including aminoglycosides, beta-lactams, tetracyclines, and even colistin, with the highest minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) against colistin reaching 640 mg/L. Comparative genomic analysis revealed aph(3')-Iic, blaL1, tetT, phoP, mcr-3, arnA, pmrE, and efflux pump genes as the genetic determinants underlying this multidrug resistance. Notably, the biofilm-forming capacities of the newly discovered ST965 and ST966 isolates were significant stronger than those of the known ST532 isolates (p < 0.01), resulting in the death of over 50 % of the Galleria mellonella population within 1 day of injection. The ST965 isolates demonstrated the highest virulence against G. mellonella, followed by the ST966 isolates and ST532 isolates which was phylogenetically clustered with clinical isolates, indicating that the novel S. maltophilia strains of ST965 and ST966 may pose considerable health risks to humans. Our findings provide insights into colistin-resistant S. maltophilia in aquatic environments and raise concerns about the health risks posed by the newly assigned sequence types of colistin-resistant S. maltophilia with potential high virulence in natural aquatic environments.

The phosphoinositide-3 kinase (PI3K), a heterodimeric enzyme, plays a pivotal role in cellular metabolism and survival. Its deregulation is associated with major human diseases, particularly cancer. The p85 regulatory subunit of PI3K binds to the catalytic p110 subunit via its C-terminal domains, stabilising it in an inhibited state. Certain Src homology 3 (SH3) domains can activate p110 by binding to the proline-rich (PR) 1 motif located at the N-terminus of p85. However, the mechanism by which this N-terminal interaction activates the C-terminally bound p110 remains elusive. Moreover, the intrinsically poor ligand selectivity of SH3 domains raises the question of how they can control PI3K. Combining structural, biophysical, and functional methods, we demonstrate that the answers to both these unknown issues are linked: PI3K-activating SH3 domains engage in additional "tertiary" interactions with the C-terminal domains of p85, thereby relieving their inhibition of p110. SH3 domains lacking these tertiary interactions may still bind to p85 but cannot activate PI3K. Thus, p85 uses a functional selection mechanism that precludes nonspecific activation rather than nonspecific binding. This separation of binding and activation may provide a general mechanism for how biological activities can be controlled by promiscuous protein-protein interaction domains.

An Electroencephalography (EEG) dataset utilizing rich text stimuli can advance the understanding of how the brain encodes semantic information and contribute to semantic decoding in brain-computer interface (BCI). Addressing the scarcity of EEG datasets featuring Chinese linguistic stimuli, we present the ChineseEEG dataset, a high-density EEG dataset complemented by simultaneous eye-tracking recordings. This dataset was compiled while 10 participants silently read approximately 13 hours of Chinese text from two well-known novels. This dataset provides long-duration EEG recordings, along with pre-processed EEG sensor-level data and semantic embeddings of reading materials extracted by a pre-trained natural language processing (NLP) model. As a pilot EEG dataset derived from natural Chinese linguistic stimuli, ChineseEEG can significantly support research across neuroscience, NLP, and linguistics. It establishes a benchmark dataset for Chinese semantic decoding, aids in the development of BCIs, and facilitates the exploration of alignment between large language models and human cognitive processes. It can also aid research into the brain's mechanisms of language processing within the context of the Chinese natural language.

Objective: Paradoxical embolism from right-to-left shunting is a common cause of cryptogenic stroke in the young. Circulatory ischemia of the cochlea is closely connected with severe-to-profound sudden sensorineural hearing loss. This study aimed to explore the role of paradoxical embolism in severe-to-profound sudden sensorineural hearing loss in juveniles and young adults. Methods: From August 2021 to September 2022, consecutive outpatients under 35 years of age with severe-to-profound sudden hearing loss were included in the study. Routine auditory electrophysiological testing and contrast transcranial Doppler ultrasonography (c-TCD) were conducted, and the results were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Seven patients (age: 19.4 ± 6.5 years) were enrolled, including 5 juveniles and 2 young adults. Three patients had severe deafness, and 4 patients had profound deafness. Right-to-left shunting was detected in all patients through c-TCD. Patent foramen ovale was found in 2 patients while pulmonary arteriovenous fistula was found in 1 patient through contrast transthoracic echocardiography or cardiac catheterization. No patients had precipitating factors for sudden sensorineural hearing loss, and none had abnormalities on head magnetic resonance imaging. Six patients underwent whole-exome sequencing, and no known deafness gene variant was detected. After standard treatment for 1 month, 2, 3, and 2 patients had complete, slight, and no hearing recovery, respectively. Conclusions: Paradoxical embolism is a possible cause of severe-to-profound sudden sensorineural hearing loss in juveniles and young adults. In young patients, c-TCD is an effective screening tool to detect right-to-left shunting, while contrast transthoracic echocardiography is a complementary examination to c-TCD.

During the evolution of large models, performance evaluation is necessary for assessing their capabilities. However, current model evaluations mainly rely on specific tasks and datasets, lacking a united framework for assessing the multidimensional intelligence of large models. In this perspective, we advocate for a comprehensive framework of cognitive science-inspired artificial general intelligence (AGI) tests, including crystallized, fluid, social, and embodied intelligence. The AGI tests consist of well-designed cognitive tests adopted from human intelligence tests, and then naturally encapsulates into an immersive virtual community. We propose increasing the complexity of AGI testing tasks commensurate with advancements in large models and emphasizing the necessity for the interpretation of test results to avoid false negatives and false positives. We believe that cognitive science-inspired AGI tests will effectively guide the targeted improvement of large models in specific dimensions of intelligence and accelerate the integration of large models into human society.

Paralytic shellfish toxins (PSTs) are widely distributed neurotoxins, and the PST metabolic detoxification mechanism in bivalves has received increasing attention. To reveal the effect of phase I (cytochrome P450)-II (GST)-III (ABC transport) metabolic systems on the PST metabolism in Azumapecten farreri, this study amplified stress on the target systems using rifampicin, dl-α-tocopherol, and colchicine; measured PST levels; and conducted transcriptomic analyses. The highest toxin content reached 1623.48 µg STX eq/kg in the hepatopancreas and only 8.8% of that in the gills. Inducer intervention significantly decreased hepatopancreatic PST accumulation. The proportional reductions in the rifampicin-, dl-α-tocopherol-, and colchicine-induced groups were 55.3%, 50.4%, and 36.1%, respectively. Transcriptome analysis showed that 11 modules were significantly correlated with PST metabolism (six positive/five negative), with phase I CYP450 and phase II glutathione metabolism significantly enriched in negatively correlated pathways. Twenty-three phase I-II-III core genes were further validated using qRT-PCR and correlated with PST metabolism, revealing that CYP46A1, CYP4F6, GSTM1, and ABCF2 were significantly correlated, while CYP4F11 and ABCB1 were indirectly correlated. In conclusion, phase I-II-III detoxification enzyme systems jointly participate in the metabolic detoxification of PSTs in A. farreri. This study provides key data support to profoundly elucidate the PST metabolic detoxification mechanism in bivalves.

OBJECTIVE: To assess electrocardiogram (ECG) for risk stratification in inferior ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients within 24 h. METHODS: Three hundred thirty-four patients were divided into four ECG-based groups: Group A: R V1 <0.3 mV with ST-segment elevation (ST↑) V7-V9, Group B: R V1 <0.3 mV without ST↑ V7-V9, Group C: R V1 ≥0.3 mV with ST↑ V7-V9, and Group D: R V1 ≥0.3 mV without ST↑ V7-V9. RESULTS: Group A demonstrated the longest QRS duration, followed by Groups B, C, and D. ECG signs for right ventricle (RV) infarction were more common in Groups A and B (p < .01). ST elevation in V6, indicative of left ventricle (LV) lateral injury, was more higher in Group C than in Group A, while the ∑ST↑ V3R + V4R + V5R, representing RV infarction, showed the opposite trend (p < .05). The estimated LV infarct size from ECG was similar between Groups A and C, yet Group A had higher creatine kinase MB isoform (CK-MB; p < .05). Cardiac troponin I (cTNI) was higher in Groups A and C than in B and D (p < .05 and p = .16, respectively). NT-proBNP decreased across groups (p = .20), with the highest left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) observed in Group D (p < .05). Group A notably demonstrated more cardiac dysfunction within 4 h post-onset. CONCLUSIONS: For inferior STEMI patients, concurrent R V1 <0.3 mV with ST↑ V7-V9 suggests prolonged ventricular activation and notable myocardial damage. RV infarction's dominance over LV lateral injury might explain these observations.

BACKGROUND: The indications for splenic hilar lymph node dissection in advanced proximal gastric cancer without invasion of the greater curvature are controversial. We aimed to develop a preoperative nomogram for individualized prediction of splenic hilar lymph node metastasis in non-greater curvature advanced proximal gastric cancer. METHODS: From January 2014 to December 2021, 558 patients with non-greater curvature advanced proximal gastric cancer who underwent D2 lymphadenectomy (including splenic hilar lymph node) were retrospectively analyzed and divided into a training cohort (n = 361) and validation cohort (n = 197), depending on the admission time. A preoperative predictive nomogram of splenic hilar lymph node metastasis was established based on independent predictors identified by multivariate analysis, and the performance and prognostic value were confirmed. RESULTS: In the training and validation cohorts, 48 (13.3%) and 24 patients (12.2%) had pathologically confirmed splenic hilar lymph node metastasis, respectively. Tumor located in the posterior wall, tumor size ≥5 cm, Borrmann type IV, and splenic hilar lymph node lymphadenectasis on computed tomography were preoperative factors independently associated with splenic hilar lymph node metastasis. The nomogram developed based on these four parameters had a high concordance index of 0.850 (95% confidence interval, 0.793-0.907) and 0.825 (95% confidence interval, 0.743-0.908) in the training and validation cohorts, respectively, with well-fitting calibration plots and better net benefits in the decision curve analysis. In addition, disease-free survival and overall survival were significantly shorter in the high-risk group, with hazard ratios of 3.660 (95% confidence interval, 2.228-6.011; log-rank P < .0001) and 3.769 (95% confidence interval, 2.279-6.231; log-rank P < .0001), respectively. CONCLUSION: The nomogram has good performance in predicting the risk of splenic hilar lymph node metastasis in non-greater curvature advanced proximal gastric cancer preoperatively, which can help surgeons make rational clinical decisions.

Polystyrene nanoparticles are emerging as contaminants in freshwater environments, posing potential risks to amphibians exposed to extended periods of water contamination. Using tadpoles as a model, this study aimed to evaluate the toxicity of PS NPs. Pyrolysis-gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (Py-GCMS) analysis revealed a concentration-dependent increase in polystyrene nanoparticles (PS NPs) levels in tadpoles with escalating exposure concentrations. Following exposure to 100 nm fluorescent microspheres, fluorescence was observed in the intestines and gills, peaking at 48 hours. Histopathological analysis identified degenerative necrosis and inflammation in the liver, along with atrophic necrosis of glomeruli and tubules in the kidneys. These results indicate a discernible impact of PS NPs on antioxidant levels, including reduced superoxide dismutase and catalase activities, elevated glutathione content, and increased malondialdehyde levels. Electron microscopy observations revealed the infiltration of PS NPs into Kupffer's cells and hepatocytes, leading to visible lesions such as nuclear condensation and mitochondrial disruption. The primary objective of this research was to elucidate the adverse effects of prolonged PS NPs exposure on amphibians.
