RESUMO

Cutting force is one of the most basic signals that can reflect the information of the cutting process, so it is very necessary to study the strain elastic element of strain gauge wireless rotating dynamometers. This paper proposes a strain elastic element with a double-layer cross floating beam that can be applied to the strain gauge wireless rotating dynamometer, which can simultaneously obtain the four-component cutting force/torque information of FX, FY, FZ, and MZ. Based on the proposed strain elastic element, a compact strain gauge wireless rotating dynamometer is designed, which is composed of a tool holder, upper connection flange, strain elastic element, lower connection flange, tool base, and data acquisition and wireless transmission system. The static model of the double-layer cross floating beam on the strain elastic element is established by the segmented rigid body method, and the relationships between the material, force, structural parameters, and the strain and deformation of the floating beam are obtained. The static model is consistent with the finite element solution, which proves the rationality of the static model. Based on the established static model, the sequential quadratic programming algorithm is used to optimize the structural parameters of the double-layer cross floating beam to maximize the sensitivity of the floating beam. The overall structure of the strain elastic element is analyzed by finite element software, and the strain of the structure under simulation conditions is obtained, which provides a reference for subsequent calibration tests and circuit design. The calibration matrix and dynamic performance of the strain elastic element are obtained by the static calibration test, dynamic calibration test, and cutting test. The results show that the proposed strain elastic element has high sensitivity and low cross-sensitivity error, and can be applied to the strain gauge wireless rotating dynamometer to measure medium- and low-speed cutting forces.

RESUMO

Preparing elastic substrates as a carrier for dual-end supported nickel chromium thin film strain sensors is crucial. Wet etching is a vital microfabrication process widely used in producing microelectronic components for various applications. This article combines lithography and wet etching methods to microprocess the external dimensions and rectangular grooves of 304 stainless steel substrates. The single-factor variable method was used to explore the influence mechanism of FeCl3, HCl, HNO3, and temperature on the etching rate, etching factor, and etching surface roughness. The optimal etching parameter combination was summarized: an FeCl3 concentration of 350 g/L, HCl concentration of 150 mL/L, HNO3 concentration of 100 mL/L, and temperature of 40 °C. In addition, by comparing the surface morphology, microstructure, and chemical and mechanical properties of a 304 stainless steel substrate before and after etching treatment, it can be seen that the height difference of the substrate surface before and after etching is between 160 µm and -70 µm, which is basically consistent with the initial design of 0.2 mm. The results of an XPS analysis and Raman spectroscopy analysis both indicate that the surface C content increases after etching, and the corrosion resistance of the surface after etching decreases. The nano-hardness after etching increased by 26.4% compared to before, and the ζ value decreased by 7%. The combined XPS and Raman results indicate that the changes in surface mechanical properties of 304 stainless steel substrates after etching are mainly caused by the formation of micro-nanostructures, grain boundary density, and dislocations after wet etching. Compared with the initial rectangular substrate, the strain of the I-shaped substrate after wet etching increased by 3.5-4 times. The results of this study provide the preliminary process parameters for the wet etching of a 304 stainless steel substrate of a strain measuring force sensor and have certain guiding significance for the realization of simple steps and low cost of 304 stainless steel substrate micro-nano-processing.

RESUMO

A milling force measurement tool system is designed with an elastic beam structure, which is divided into a two-end ring hoop compression sensor mode and a two-end square hoop compression sensor mode to improve the strain sensitivity. A simplified mechanical model of the elastic beam is established, and the relationship between the strain and force of the elastic beam under the action of three cutting force components is investigated, which can act a guide for subsequent milling force measurement tool system calibration tests. Thin-film strain sensors occupy a central position in the milling force measurement tool system, which consists of a substrate, transition layer, insulating layer and resistance grid layer. The resistance grid layer has a particularly significant effect on the thin-film strain sensor's performance. In order to further improve the sensitivity of thin-film strain sensors, the shapes of the substrate, the transition layer, the insulating layer and the resistance grid layer are optimized and studied. A new thin-film strain sensor is designed with a resistance grid beam constructed from an insulating layer and a resistive grid layer double-end-supported on the transition layer. The flow of the wet-etching process of thin-film strain sensors is studied and samples are obtained. The surface microforms of the sensor samples are observed by extended depth-of-field microscopy, confocal microscopy and atomic force microscopy. It can be seen that the boundary of the resistance grid layer pattern is tidy and has high dimensional accuracy, thus enabling the basic achievement of the expected effect of the design. The electrical performance of the samples is tested on an experimental platform that we built, and the results show that the resistive sensitivity coefficient of the samples is increased by about 20%, to 51.2%, compared with that of the flat thin-film strain sensor, which fulfils the design's requirements.

RESUMO

In this review, the significance of ratoon rice was introduced, and the research status and development trends of ratoon rice were also summarized. It is pointed out that mechanically harvested ratoon rice is the developing direction of future ratoon rice. On this basis, we analyzed the relationship between the yield of ratoon rice and many factors, such as variety characteristics, sowing date, water control, fertilizer, and many others. It is important to construct a comprehensive and practical evaluation system for rice regeneration that can provide a basis for high-yield cultivation of machine-harvested ratoon rice. At the same time, it is suggested that combining high-yield cultivation with the green ecological efficiency of rice can achieve better production and improve the quality of rice. Finally, some problems with ratoon rice development were put forward. An in-depth study on the rhizosphere biology and regulation techniques of ratoon rice and the effective ecological compensation mechanism increased the capacity and quality of ratoon rice. Further, the functioning of such research can enhance the planting area for ratoon rice and improve food security.

RESUMO

Cadmium (Cd) is a kind of heavy metal. Cadmium pollution in paddy fields will accumulate a large amount of cadmium in rice, which will affect the growth and development of rice. In addition, long-term consumption of rice contaminated with Cd can harm human health. In this study, four rice varieties with high Cd accumulation (S4699, TLY619, JHY1586, QLY155) and four varieties with low Cd accumulation (YY4949, CYJ-7, G8YXSM, MXZ-2) were screened through field experiments for two consecutive years (2021 and 2022) and differences in antioxidant enzyme systems and expression of genes in their organs were analyzed. The total Cd content showed as follows: indica rice > japonica rice, high-Cd-accumulation variety > low-Cd-accumulation variety, and the total Cd content of each organ of rice showed root > stem > leaf > grain. The results of the antioxidant enzyme system showed that the contents of malondialdehyde (MAD), reduced glutathione (GSH), oxidized glutathione (GSSH), and peroxidase (POD) were positively correlated with the total Cd content in rice, and superoxide dismutase (SOD) showed the opposite performance in the leaves. There was no correlation between catalase (CAT) and Cd content, but CAT content decreased in leaves and grains and increased in roots and stems with increasing fertility. Based on this study, RT-qPCR was used to further validate the expression of Cd-uptake-related genes in different rice varieties. It was found that high expression of OsHMA3, OsCCX2, OsNRAMP5, and OsHMA9 genes promoted Cd uptake and translocation in rice, especially in rice varieties with high Cd accumulation. The high expression of OslRT1, OsPCR1, and OsMTP1 genes hindered Cd uptake by rice plants, which was especially evident in low-accumulating Cd rice varieties. These results provide an important theoretical reference and scientific basis for our in-depth study and understanding of the mechanism of cadmium stress tolerance in rice.

RESUMO

The Johnson-Cook (J-C) constitutive model is not suitable for Ti-6Al-4V alloy in the high-speed cutting finite element simulation, as it has no response dynamic recrystallization softening effect under heavy impact and high temperature. In this paper, an improved constitutive model considering the recrystallization effect was established, and the parameters were fitted with the data of flow stress-strain of the Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) test. The relevant theories of cutting finite element simulation were studied, such as nonlinear constitutive elastic-plastic deformation, strain state, and material yield. A subroutine that included the Recht shear failure instability criterion and the improved model was coded in Fortran and embedded in the finite element simulation software AdvantEdge FEM, along with the return mapping stress integration algorithm. The simulated stress of the improved model dropped dramatically from 460 MPa to 220 MPa when the temperature rises from 950 °C to 1000 °C, and its decline reached 46.7%, while the J-C model only decreased by 10%. Comparative studies indicate that the stress change of the improved constitutive simulation is closer to the SHPB test results than the J-C constitutive, and the new one is more suitable when it expresses the high temperature and heavy impact in the high-speed milling.

RESUMO

Changing from conventional to organic farming might have fewer negative environmental impacts because of the avoidance of synthetic fertilizer and chemical pesticides. In this study, the economic viability and environmental and sustainability performance of the four dominant organic (rice-green manure rotation (RG), rice-duck co-culture (RD), rice-crayfish co-culture (RCF) and rice monoculture (RM)) and one conventional (rice monoculture (CRM)) rice production modes were evaluated in Jiangsu Province, China. Compared with the CRM mode, organic rice production increased economic benefits density and improved the economic benefit of crop land and irrigation water use. With the lowest total emergy input and the highest rice yield, the CRM mode showed the highest ecological efficiency in converting resources to total available energy content and nutrition density unit among the five rice production modes. However, the RCM mode showed higher environmental pressure and lower sustainability than the four organic modes due to the larger proportion of nonrenewable emergy input. The RM mode was the most uneconomic organic rice production mode with the highest cost input and the lowest product output but had relatively higher sustainability due to the higher proportion of renewable resources to total emergy inputs. Compared with the RM mode, the value-to-cost ratio, economic benefit density and benefit-cost ratio were increased in the RG, RD and RCF modes. Although the RD and RCF modes had higher efficiency in converting resources to total nutrition density units and monetary value, they imposed higher environmental pressure with a lower renewable fraction and emergy sustainability index than those in the RM mode. The RG mode had higher emergy utilization efficiency and the highest renewable fraction and emergy sustainability index among the four organic rice production modes. Considering the ecological and economic effects, the RG mode was conducive to improving the economic viability and sustainability of organic rice production.

RESUMO

Wheat-rice cropping system in China, characterized by smallholder with conventional practice, is energy- and carbon-intensive. Cooperative with scientific practice is a promising practice to increase resource use while reducing environmental impact. However, comprehensive studies of the energy and carbon (C) budgeting of management practices on the actual field-scale production under different production types are lacking. The present research examined the energy and C budgeting of smallholder and cooperative using conventional practice (CP) or scientific practice (SP) at the field scale level in the Yangtze River Plain, China. The SPs and cooperatives exhibited 9.14 % and 6.85 % and 4.68 % and 2.49 % higher grain yields over the corresponding CPs and smallholders, respectively, while maintaining 48.44 % and 28.50 % and 38.81 % and 20.16 % higher net income. Compared to the CPs, the corresponding SPs reduced the total energy input by 10.35 % and 7.88 %, and the energy savings were primarily attributable to reductions in fertilizer, water, and seeds through the use of improved techniques. The total energy input in the cooperatives was 11.53 % and 9.09 % lower than that for the corresponding smallholders due to the mechanistic enhancements and improved operational efficiency. As a result of the increased yields and reduced energy inputs, the SPs and cooperatives ultimately increased energy use efficiency. The high productivity attributed to increased C output in the SPs, which increased C use efficiency and the C sustainability index (CSI) but decreased the C footprint (CF) over the corresponding CPs. The higher productivity and more efficient machinery of cooperatives increased the CSI and reduced the CF compared to the corresponding smallholders. Overall, the SPs coupled with cooperatives were the most energy efficient, C efficient, profitable and productive for wheat-rice cropping systems. In the future, improved fertilization management practices and integration of smallholder farms were effective means for developing sustainable agriculture and promoting environmental safety.

RESUMO

Climate warming affects rice growth at different phenological stages, thereby increasing rice chalkiness and protein content and reducing eating and cooking quality (ECQ). The structural and physicochemical properties of rice starch played important roles in determining rice quality. However, differences in their response to high temperature during the reproductive stage have been rarely studied. In the present study, they were evaluated and compared between two contrasting natural temperature field conditions, namely, high seasonal temperature (HST) and low seasonal temperature (LST), during the reproductive stage of rice in 2017 and 2018. Compared with LST, HST significantly deteriorated rice quality, including increased grain chalkiness, setback, consistence, and pasting temperature and reduced taste values. HST considerably reduced the total starch and increased the protein content. Likewise, HST significantly reduced the short amylopectin chains [degree of polymerization (DP) <12] and increased the long amylopectin chains (DP > 12) and relative crystallinity. The starch structure, total starch content, and protein content explained 91.4%, 90.4%, and 89.2% of the total variations in pasting properties, taste value, and grain chalkiness degree, respectively. In conclusion, we suggested that rice quality variations were closely associated with the changes in chemical composition content (total starch and protein content) and starch structure in response to HST. These results indicated that we should improve the resistance of rice to high temperature during the reproductive stage to improve the fine structure of rice starch in further breeding and practice.

RESUMO

Exploring the ecological function of potential core bacteria for high-efficiency composting can provide a fundamental understanding of the role of composting bacterial communities. Mushroom residue and kitchen garbage at different ratios (N1: 1/1, N2: 1/2) of dry weight were tested to investigate the key ecological role of the core bacteria responsible for producing mature compost. N1 had a peak temperature of 75.0 °C which was higher than N2 (68.3 °C). Other key composting parameters (carbon to nitrogen ratio (C/N) and germination index (GI)) also indicated that N1 achieved higher compost maturity. Rice seedlings experiments also further validated this conclusion. Putative key bacterial taxa (Thermobifida, Luteimonasd, Bacillus, etc.) were positively associated with the GI, indicating a substantial contribution to composting maturity. Co-occurrence network analysis revealed the ecological function of potentially beneficial core bacteria promoted cooperation among the bacterial community. The putative core bacteria in N1 may affect composting efficiency. Our findings reveal the mechanism of potential core bacteria throughout the compost maturity phases.

Based on the function area structure, five connection area structures are designed for comprehensive performance analysis. The structural sensitivity of the substrate function area design and optimization is expanded 1.75 times, and the comprehensive performance is expanded 1.53 times. The sensitivity of the connection area design and optimization is expanded 2.3 times, and the comprehensive performance is expanded 1.72 times. RESUMO

A thin-film strain micro-sensor is a cutting force sensor that can be integrated with tools. Its elastic substrate is an important intermediate to transfer the strain generated by the tools during cutting to the resistance-grid-sensitive layer. In this paper, 1060 aluminum is selected as the elastic substrate material and aluminum oxide thin film is selected as the transition layer between the aluminum substrate and the silicon nitride insulating layer. The Stoney correction formula applicable to the residual stress of the aluminum oxide film is derived, and the residual stress of the aluminum oxide film on the aluminum substrate is obtained. The influence of Sputtering pressure, argon flow and negative substrate bias process parameters on the surface quality and sputtering power of the aluminum oxide thin film is discussed. The relationship model between process parameters, surface roughness, and sputtering rate of thin films is established. The sputtering process parameters for preparing an aluminum oxide thin film are optimized. The micro-surface quality of the aluminum oxide thin film obtained before and after the optimization of the process parameters and the surface quality of Si3N4 thin film sputtered on alumina thin film before and after the optimization are compared. It is verified that the optimized process parameters of aluminum oxide film as a transition layer can improve the adhesion between the insulating-layer silicon nitride film and the aluminum substrate.

RESUMO

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is cultivated in a wide range of climatic conditions, thereby inducing great variations in the rice growth, yield and quality. However, the comprehensive effects of temperature and solar radiation under different ecological regions on the rice growth, yield and quality are not well understood, especially in a middle rice cropping system. The rice growth, yield- and quality-related traits were investigated under different ecological regions. Among different areas, the days before the heading stage and after the heading stage of six cultivars ranged from 80 to 120 and from 30 to 50. The gaps of the grain yield, head rice rate, chalky grain rate and chalkiness level were about 1.2-52.4%, 1.0-3.0%, 2.7-12.7% and 0.3-4.5%, respectively. This study demonstrated that in these regions, temperature is a limiting factor compared with radiation. Moreover, the rice growth, yield and quality were closely associated with daily air (DT), maximum (MaT), minimum (MiT) and effective accumulated temperatures (EAT). An excellent rice growth, a high grain yield and an excellent quality could be achieved if the EAT was higher than 1592 °C·d and the MiT was lower than 23.1 °C before the heading stage, and if the DT, MiT and MaT were lower than 25.7 °C, 22.0 °C and 30 °C after the heading stage, respectively. These findings served as an important reference for optimizing cultivar selection for a specific area and determining suitable areas for a certain variety.

RESUMO

The thin-film strain sensor is a cutting-force sensor that can be integrated with cutting tools. The quality of the alloy film strain layer resistance grid plays an important role in the performance of the sensor. In this paper, the two film patterning processes of photolithography magnetron sputtering and photolithography ion beam etching are compared, and the effects of the geometric size of the thin-film resistance grid on the resistance value and resistance strain coefficient of the thin film are compared and analyzed. Through orthogonal experiments of incident angle, argon flow rate, and substrate negative bias in the ion beam etching process parameters, the effects of the process parameters on photoresist stripping quality, etching rate, surface roughness, and resistivity are discussed. The effects of process parameters on etching rate, surface roughness, and resistivity are analyzed by the range method. The effect of substrate temperature on the preparation of Ni Cr alloy films is observed by scanning electron microscope. The surface morphology of the films before and after ion beam etching is observed by atomic force microscope. The influence of the lithography process on the surface quality of the film is discussed, and the etching process parameters are optimized.

RESUMO

Thin-film strain sensors are widely used because of their small volume, fast strain response and high measurement accuracy. Among them, the thin-film material and preparation process of thin-film strain sensors for force measurement are important aspects. In this paper, the preparation process parameters of the transition layer, insulating layer and Ni-Cr alloy layer in a thin-film strain sensor are analyzed and optimized, and the influence of each process parameter on the properties of the thin film are discussed. The surface microstructure of the insulating layer with Al2O3 or Si3N4 transition layers and the film without transition layer were observed by atomic force microscopy. It is analyzed that adding a transition layer between the stainless steel substrate and insulation layer can improve the adhesion and flatness of the insulation layer. The effects of process parameters on elastic modulus, nanohardness and strain sensitivity coefficient of the Ni-Cr resistance layer are discussed, and electrical parameters such as the resistance strain coefficient are analyzed and characterized. The static calibration of the thin-film strain sensor is carried out, and the relationship between the strain value and the output voltage is obtained. The results show that the thin-film strain sensor can obtain the strain generated by the cutting tool and transform it into an electrical signal with good linearity through the bridge, accurately measuring the cutting force.

RESUMO

High temperatures caused by climate warming severely affect the grain yield and quality of rice. In this study, the rice cultivars Longliangyou Huazhan (LLYHZ) and Quanliangyou 2118 (QLY2118) were selected as the experimental materials for investigation of an optimal cultivation system under high-temperature treatment. In addition, the heat-resistant cultivar Huanghuazhan (HHZ) and heat-sensitive cultivar Huiliangyou 858 (HLY858) were chosen as the experimental materials to study the effects of exogenous plant growth regulators on heat stress responses under high-temperature treatment. The results showed that mechanical transplanting of carpet seedlings and delayed sowing effectively increased the leaf area index and reduced the canopy temperature of LLYHZ and QLY2118. Furthermore, carpet seedling mechanical transplantation and delayed sowing improved grain yield and quality. Spray application of five plant growth regulators revealed that brassinolide and salicylic acid had the strongest effects on significantly improving antioxidant enzyme activities in the panicle, which would reduce the damage caused by the accumulation of reactive oxygen species and enhance plant tolerance of high-temperature stress. In addition, brassinolide and salicylic acid enhanced the percentage of anther dehiscence and percentage seed set. In this study, a set of simplified eco-friendly cultivation techniques for single-season indica rice adaptation to high-temperature stress was established. These results will be of great importance in alleviating the effects of high-temperature stress on rice production.

RESUMO

The measurement of cutting force is an effective method for machining condition monitoring in intelligent manufacturing. Titanium nitride films and silicon nitride films were prepared on 304 stainless steel substrates by DC-reactive magnetron sputtering and plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD). The effects of substrate negative bias and nitrogen flow on the surface microstructures of TiN film were investigated. The smoothness of the film is optimal when the bias voltage is -60 V. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis was performed on the samples with the optimal smoothness, and it was found that when the nitrogen flow rate was higher than 2 sccm, the titanium nitride film had a mixed phase of TiN(111) and (200). It is further revealed that the change of peak intensity of TiN(200) can be enhanced by nitrogen flow. Through atomic force microscopy (AFM), it is found that the stronger the intensity of the TiN (200) peak, the smoother the surface of the film is. Finally, the effect of different film thicknesses on the hardness and toughness of the TiN/Si3N4 film system was studied by nanoindentation experiments. The nanohardness (H) of the TiN/Si3N4 film can reach 39.2 GPa, the elastic modulus (E) is 480.4 GPa, the optimal toughness value (H3/E2) is 0.261 GPa, and the sample has good insulation performance. Linear fitting of the film's toughness to nanohardness shows that TiN/Si3N4 films with higher hardness usually have a higher H3/E2 ratio.

RESUMO

BACKGROUOND: Grain chalkiness lowers the market value of rice. Alleviating grain chalkiness is the most challenging issue in many rice-producing areas of the world. Nitrogen (N) metabolism has received increasing attention as a result of its relationship with grain chalkiness, although little information is available on the mechanism of N-induced grain chalk. RESULTS: A highly chalky rice variety OM052 was used to explore the protein synthesis and its accumulation in the grain exposed to N topdressing (N+) at the panicle initiation stage and a control (N-). The results showed that chalky kernels were stimulated by the N+ treatment and more prone to occur on the top and primary rachis. The grain protein content was increased because of the increased average and maximum rates of protein accumulation during grain filling, which was related to the enhanced activities of glutamine synthetase, glutamate synthase, glutamic oxalo-acetic transaminase and glutamate pyruvate transaminase under the N+ treatment. The activities of these enzymes at 15 days after flowering (DAF) were notably positively correlated with grain chalky traits and protein content. CONCLUSION: N topdressing regulates the synthesis and accumulation of the protein by affecting the key enzymes, especially at 15 DAF, which is attributed to grain chalkiness in rice. © 2021 Society of Chemical Industry.

RESUMO

Biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using endophytic bacteria is a safe alternative to the traditional chemical method. The purpose of this research is to biosynthesize AgNPs using endophytic bacterium Bacillus endophyticus strain H3 isolated from onion. The biosynthesized AgNPs with sizes from 4.17 to 26.9 nm were confirmed and characterized by various physicochemical techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-visible spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) in addition to an energy dispersive spectrum (EDS) profile. The biosynthesized AgNPs at a concentration of 40 µg/mL had a strong antifungal activity against rice blast pathogen Magnaporthe oryzae with an inhibition rate of 88% in mycelial diameter. Moreover, the biosynthesized AgNPs significantly inhibited spore germination and appressorium formation of M. oryzae. Additionally, microscopic observation showed that mycelia morphology was swollen and abnormal when dealing with AgNPs. Overall, the current study revealed that AgNPs could protect rice plants against fungal infections.

RESUMO

Grain chalkiness is a highly undesirable trait that adversely affects rice quality. This chalkiness is easily influenced by the application of chemical nitrogen (N) fertilizer at the late growth stage. However, on the molecular mechanism underlying grain chalkiness caused by late N fertilization is not fully clear. In this study, proteomic differences in expression were determined in developing grains exposed to N topdressing (108 kg N ha-1, N+) and a control (0 kg N ha-1, N0), using the rice variety OM052, which has a high level of chalkiness. A total of 198 differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) were detected between the N+ and N0 treatments, including 9 up-regulated proteins and 189 down-regulated proteins. Of these DEPs, approximately half were associated with carbohydrate metabolism (glycolysis, tricarboxylic acid cycle, pentose phosphate pathway, fermentation and starch metabolism) and N metabolism (protein synthesis, folding, degradation and storage, amino acid synthesis and catabolism). A detailed pathway dissection revealed that multiple metabolic pathways during the grain filling stage were involved in the N-induced grain chalkiness. Reduced abundances of proteins associated with respiratory metabolism and energy metabolism drastically impaired the biosynthesis and deposition of starch in the developmental endosperms, which might be a crucial trigger for the increase in grain chalkiness.
