RESUMO

A deselenylative protocol that enables the construction of the C-C and C-N bonds has been disclosed. By using acyl chloride/AgOTf as an efficient acylation reagent, diarylselenides smoothly undergo deselenylative acylation to produce a series of aroyl compounds. In addition, deselenylative nitration can be enabled by a mild nitration reagent consisting of TsCl and AgNO3, furnishing a diverse array of nitroaromatic compounds.

RESUMO

AIM: To understand the real experience of family members of patients in neurosurgical intensive care unit (NICU) during intra-hospital transport (IHT), explore their inner needs and provide effective intervention measures for the construction of standardized IHT plan. DESIGN: A descriptive qualitative study. METHODS: For the purposes of this study, 10 family members of IHT patients were included using a purposive sampling method. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were used to collect the data, Nvivo 11 software was used to organize the data, and Colaizzi's 7-step descriptive phenomenology method was used to analyse the data. RESULTS: A total of three themes and nine subthemes were extracted, namely: Experience of emotional changes at different stages (uncertainty before transfer, complex internal activity during transit, ambivalence after transfer); Perception of problems in IHT (poor doctor-patient communication, weak awareness of risk assessment, deficiencies in the transfer procedure); Consciousness of the real needs (emotional respect and closeness, stay informed of the progression of the disease, greater social support). CONCLUSION: Family members of patients in the NICU have complex internal experiences and multiple support needs during IHT, reflecting the need for further standardization of the transport process. In the future, we should improve the mode of safe IHT involving doctors, nurses and family members of patients, ensure the safety of patient transport, meet the social support needs of family members and improve the experience of IHT and the medical satisfaction of family members.

RESUMO

Shewanella putrefaciens (S. putrefaciens) is one of the main microorganisms in soil bioreactors, which mainly immobilizes uranium through reduction and mineralization processes. However, the effects of elements such as phosphorus and ZVI, which may be present in the actual environment, on the mineralization and reduction processes are still not clearly understood and the environment is mostly in the absence of oxygen. In this study, we ensure that all experiments are performed in an anaerobic glove box, and we elucidate through a combination of macroscopic experimental findings and microscopic characterization that the presence of inorganic phosphates enhances the mineralization of uranyl ions on the surface of S. putrefaciens, while zero-valent iron (ZVI) facilitates the immobilization of uranium by promoting the reduction of uranium by S. putrefaciens. Interestingly, when inorganic phosphates and ZVI co-exist, both the mineralization and reduction of uranium on the bacterial surface are simultaneously enhanced. However, these two substances exhibit a certain degree of antagonism in terms of uranium immobilization by S. putrefaciens. Furthermore, it is found that the influence of pH on the mineralization and reduction of uranyl ions is far more significant than that of inorganic phosphates and ZVI. This study contributes to a better understanding of the environmental fate of uranium in real-world settings and provides valuable theoretical support for the bioremediation and risk assessment of uranium contamination.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: China has the largest population of patients with dementia worldwide, no assessment of illiterate old population's dementia knowledge, attitudes, stigma have been conducted so far in China. AIM: This study focused on the impact of education on knowledge, attitudes, and stigma related to dementia. METHODS: The community-based sample used in this study was recruited using multi-stage random sampling from residents aged ≥60 years registered in Shanghai. We used the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-30) to identify depression, and the Ascertain Dementia 8 questionnaire (AD8) for evaluating participants' cognitive impairment. Knowledge, Attitude, Belief, and Practice scale, Perceptions Regarding Investigational Screening for Memory in Primary Care (PRISM-PC) were used for measuring dementia knowledge, attitudes, stigma. We separated the population into illiterate and literate group, propensity score matching based on age, sex, depression, and cognitive impairment. We calculated the difference of knowledge, attitudes, and stigma related to dementia between illiterate and literate groups. RESULTS: Two thousand five hundred and eighteen participants completed the survey. After propensity score matching, 186 pairs of matched participants left. The overall correct rate of dementia knowledge was 70.34%. The illiterate group had a lower percentage of correct answers for each knowledge item. The item "Dementia is not a disease, it is forgetfulness due to aging" had the lowest accuracy rate in both groups (38.71% vs. 50.54%, p=0.022). Illiterate older adults were less accepting of dementia than literate older adults. The majority of participants did not agree that: "There is no need to visit a doctor when older people have memory loss, difficulty communicating, or finding words" (56.99% vs. 68.28%). Illiterate older adults had higher scores for the items assessing stigma toward dementia than literate older adults. CONCLUSION: Dementia-related knowledge and attitudes among community-dwelling older adults in Shanghai may be related to literacy.

RESUMO

We measured NIR spectrum of VC yinqiao tablets with spectral instrument, analyzed the contents of acetaminophen and vitamin C in the VC yinqiao tablets with principal component analysis (PCA) and Linear Neural Network, and discussed the choice of principal component number and ANN's parameters affecting the network. To compare arithmetic performance, the authors also processed the spectral data with partial least squares and PCA-BP neural network. Compared with other two data process methods, the experiment and the result of data process showed that the PCA-linear neural network possess the best forecasting precision.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To identify the differentially expressed genes in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) by comparing the gene expression profiles of peripheral leukocytes between SLE patients and healthy controls. METHODS: The total RNA was extracted from 5 ml peripheral blood of normal subjects and SLE patients, and reversely transcribed in cDNA templates to synthesize cDNA probes labeled for hybridization with the microarray. RESULTS: Totally 89 over- or under-expressed genes were identified in 9 SLE patients as compared with the controls. These genes included genes associated with cytokines and their receptors, immunity, cell signal transduction, protein transcription and synthesis, ion channel and transporters, cell apoptosis, DNA and RNA processing, and extracellular matrix etc. Clustering analysis showed that in spite of the individual diversity of the SLE patients, their gene expression profiles were strikingly similar. CONCLUSION: The differentially expressed genes screened with oligonucleotide DNA microarray technique may provide clues for exploring the pathogenesis and progression of SLE, and for identification of potential molecular markers for diagnosis and development of therapeutic drugs.

RESUMO

A method based on Fourier transform to compensate the non-linear attenuation of optical fiber used as a probe in a spectrum-collecting system was proposed. First the output electric currents of photoelectric tube with and without fiber were transformed to the frequency field. So an adjustable function in frequency field was obtained, and the adjustable function was transformed to the spectrum field, so the final adjustable function was obtained. A photoelectric system was designed for testing. With visible light, this method can make the error rate of fiber transmission as low as less than 1.54%. It is proved that the method is fit for adjusting some optical fiber spectrum attenuation.

RESUMO

The present paper presents a new NIR multi-component analysis method with Artificial Neural Network(ANN) and Partial Least Square Regression(PLS). First, this method divides the concentration range of training samples into some sub-ranges, and respectively computes a PLS correlation model in each sub-range with the sub-range's training samples. Then, the authors classify prediction samples according to its concentration sub-range with ANN and judge which sub-range theprediction sample belongs to. Finally, the authors compute the concentration of prediction component with the PLS correlation model of the sub-range according to ANN. The experiment and the result of data processing show that this method improves the model's applicability, and evidently enhances prediction precision compared to traditional PLS.

RESUMO

Angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory peptides have been shown to have antihypertensive effects and have been utilized for physiologically functional foods and pharmaceuticals. The ACE inhibitory ability of a hydrolysate is determined by its peptide composition. However, the peptide composition of a hydrolysate depends on proteolytic enzyme and the hydrolysis conditions. In this study, the effect of process conditions on the ACE inhibitory activity of rice dregs hydrolyzed with a trypsin was investigated systematically using response surface methodology. It was shown that the ACE inhibitory activity of rice dregs hydrolysates could be controlled by regulation of five process conditions. Hydrolysis conditions for optimal ACE inhibition were defined using the response surface model of fractional factorial design (FFD), steepest ascent design, and central composite design (CCD).

RESUMO

Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality across the world. Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) including angioplasty and/or stenting have revolutionized the effect management of ischemic syndromes in CHD and their symptoms. However, the superimposition of iatrogenic mechanical injury (PCI procedure) on coronary atherosclerosis initiates restenosis that may complicate the patient's clinical course like recurrence of angina, myocardial infarction and cardiac insufficiency. In order to study the possible association of clinical risk factors on the incidence of restenosis; clinical predictors were determined in 98 patients (81 males and 17 females) who all undergone follow-up coronary angiography within 8.2 months after PCI. The mean age was 59.7years (40-80years). 83 patients had recurrence of angina however 15 patients had no symptoms at the follow up. The multivariate analysis of the clinical predictors demonstrated that a significant higher risk of restenosis after PCI was found in patients with hyperlipidemia p<0.05, [RR=1.311(1.018-1.687)]. Longer the history of hyperlipidemia the angina recurrence time is shorter. Besides restenosis is also closely related to male patients (p<0.10). Finally, this study strengthens evidence that restenosis following PCI is higher in patients with hyperlipidemia, and longer the history of hyperlipidemia the recurrence time of angina is shorter.

RESUMO

Short wave near-infrared spectrum of whole wheat was obtained by diffusion reflection. PLS method was used to analyze protein content of whole wheat. Different wavelength ranges were chosen for regression and information abstraction. The 3D curves were shown for different factors, prediction residual sum of squares (PRESS), and RMSECV. The best wavelength ranges and factors were determined. Analysis results for protein content of whole wheat were shown in three wavelength regions, and the predicted results were compared and discussed. The method of selecting advantageous wavelength ranges is feasible to obtain high prediction precision.

RESUMO

This paper studied the influence of using pre-procession such as smooth, 1st derivative and baseline correction on the analysis of near-infrared spectrum. Comparing the analysis results by the pre-procession methods, and using PLS arithmetic, the best pre-procession was determined. In smooth pre-procession method, the best smooth points were proposed for regression using PLS. The analysis result is satisfactory.

RESUMO

Based on stepwise linear regression, and according to the theory of near infrared absorbption, spectrum (1000-2500 nm) obtained by detector was divided into three ranges, which were I (1000-1400 nm) and II (1400-1860 nm) and III (1860-2500 nm). In each range the regression wavelengths of different wavelength gaps were picked up stepwise. Regression coefficients and parameters were calculated by Matlab5.3 Program. Regression models were built up in different ranges with different wavelength gaps. Best models could be determined. Prediction results of protein content of ground wheat were displayed in scatter plots. Different results were discussed and compared, which has referencemeaning for application.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: To study the antibacterial effect of Niaoluqing Oral Liquid (NOL) on clinical drug-resistant strains and 14 serotype strains Ureaplasma Urealyticum (UU). METHODS: Sixty-three clinical strains of UU were detected to determine their serology and antibiotic susceptibilities by the metabolic inhibition test (MIT). Mininum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was used to evaluate the sensitivity of NOL to different serotypes of UU. The sensitivity of NOL, erythromycin and tetracycline to 63 clinical strains of UU was also studied. RESULTS: In 63 clinical strains of UU, the range of MIC to NOL was from 0.48 mg/ml to 15.63 mg/ml, MIC50 < or = 1.95 mg/ml, MIC90 < or = 3.91 mg/ml. Among them, 31 strains were resistant to tetracycline and 31 were resistant to erythromycin. No obvious correlation between the sensitivity of NOL to UU clinical strains and that of erythromycin and tetracycline to UU clinical strains (P > 0.05). Clinical strains of UU in this experiment contains all of its serotypes, also having a higher sensitivity to NOL (MIC < or = 3.91 mg/ml) except serology 1, 2, 3 and 11 (MIC > or = 7.81 mg/ml). CONCLUSIONS: NOL exerts a strong in vitro antibacterial effect on erythromycin-resistant and tetracycline-resistant clinical strains of UU. All kinds of serotype strains had a higher sensitivity to NOL, too. Chinese medicinal herbs are of momentous significance in the treatment of UU infection.
