RESUMO

To observe of the effect of electrical stimulation at the back-shu acupoint with extrinsic diaphragmatic pacing (EDP) mode on respiratory function and extubation success rate in tracheostomized stroke patients. A total of 200 patients who underwent tracheostomy after a stroke from January 2022 to February 2023 were included in this study. They were divided into 2 groups based on whether electroacupuncture was used: the EDP + electroacupuncture group and the EDP group. We assessed the differences in cough reflex scores and clinical lung infection scores between the 2 groups, and measured levels of blood gas analysis indicators, diaphragmatic function, lung function, maximum inspiratory pressure, and maximum expiratory pressure in both groups. The total effective rate in the EDP + electroacupuncture group was 91.00% (91/100), which was higher than the EDP group's 80.00% (80/100) (P < .05). After treatment, both groups showed a decrease in clinical lung infection scores and cough reflex scores compared to before treatment, with the EDP + electroacupuncture group having lower scores than the EDP group (P < .05). After treatment, the pH value, arterial oxygen pressure, and oxygenation index all increased compared to before treatment, with the EDP + electroacupuncture group showing higher values than the EDP group (P < .05). After treatment, both groups showed a decrease in arterial carbon dioxide pressure compared to before treatment, with the EDP + electroacupuncture group having lower PaCO2 levels than the EDP group (P < .05). After treatment, both groups showed an increase in forced vital capacity as a percentage of predicted value (FVC%), diaphragm thickness, diaphragm mobility, maximum inspiratory pressure, maximum expiratory pressure, forced expiratory volume in the first second as a percentage of predicted value (FEV1%), and diaphragm contraction speed compared to before treatment. Additionally, the EDP + electroacupuncture group had higher values in these parameters compared to the EDP group (P < .05). The EDP + electroacupuncture group had a shorter average extubation time and a higher extubation success rate compared to the EDP group (P < .05). The combination of EDP mode and electroacupuncture at the back-shu acupoint appears to be effective in improving lung function and diaphragmatic function in tracheostomized stroke patients. It also leads to a shorter extubation time and higher extubation success rates.

RESUMO

The nacre has excellent impact resistance performance, and it is attracting attention in the field of aerospace composite research. Inspired by the layered structure from nacre, semi-cylindrical nacre-like composite shells of brittle silicon carbide ceramic (SiC) and aluminum (AA5083-H116) were established. Two types of tablet arrangements (regular hexagonal and Voronoi polygons) of the composites were designed, and the same size of ceramic and aluminum shell were established for the impact resistance analyzed numerically. In order to better compare the resistance performance of the four types of structures under different impact velocity, the following parameters were analyzed including energy variation, damage characteristic, bullet residual velocity, and semi-cylindrical shell displacement. The results show that the semi-cylindrical ceramic shells have higher rigidity and ballistic limit, but the severe vibration after impact causes penetrating cracks, and the whole structure failure occurred eventually. The nacre-like composites have higher ballistic limits than semi-cylindrical aluminum shells, and the impact of bullets only causes local failure. In the same conditions, the impact resistance of regular hexagons is better than Voronoi polygons. The research analyzes the resistance characteristic of nacre-like composites and single materials, and provides a reference for the design of nacre-like structures.

RESUMO

The mechanical behavior of buried HDPE double-wall corrugated pipes is mainly affected by the material and the structure of the pipe wall. Here we studied a peculiar material that added fly ash (FA) in high density polyethylene (HDPE) to develop composites. We have conducted research on FA/HDPE composites with different mix proportions. When 5% compatibilizer was added to the 10% FA masterbatch/HDPE composite, the Young's Modulus of FA/HDPE composite was higher. This paper mainly studies the mechanical behavior of the structure of pipe walls for materials with this proportion of the ingredients. The mechanical behavior of double-wall corrugated pipes with different ratios of interior and exterior wall thicknesses is studied by keeping the sum of the interior and exterior wall thicknesses unchanged. Pipes with six different ratios of interior and exterior wall thicknesses are simulated; the results show that the strain of crest and liner gradually decreased and the valley strain gradually increased with the increase of the exterior wall thickness. By comparing inner and outer wall thickness ratios from 0.67 to 2.33, it is found that the structural performance and economic advantage for the double-wall corrugated pipes is best when the thickness ratio of the interior wall and the exterior wall is controlled to be from 1.3 to 1.8. This paper expounds the deformation mechanism of double-wall corrugated pipes from the perspective of mechanical behavior and structural characteristics, and provides a reference for material selection and structural design of double-wall corrugated pipes.

RESUMO

This paper carried out burst tests on the carbon and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber high-strength concrete specimens to investigate the effects of fiber type, fiber content, water content, heating rate and test specimen size on the burst, and the whole burst process of fiber-high concrete was photographed and recorded. The results indicated that fiber addition will improve the high temperature burst behavior of the high-strength concrete, and the performance of PVA is greatly different from that of carbon fiber. The water content and heating rate have little influence on the burst of the PVA test specimen, but they will greatly affect the carbon fiber test specimen. The size of the test specimen has a great influence on the burst. For the PVA concrete test specimen, the large size test specimen bursts on the surface; as for the carbon fiber test specimen, the large size test specimen delays the initial burst time, but the burst becomes fiercer.

RESUMO

The present study aimed to investigate the anti-tumor mechanisms of gambogic acid (GA) on NCI-H1993 xenografts in vivo. Non-small cell lung carcinoma NCI-H1993 cells, which harbor a MET gene amplification, were subcutaneously injected into athymic nude mice. The mice were randomly assigned to treatment with 10, 20 or 30 mg/kg GA for 3 weeks. At the end of the efficacy study, all the mice were sacrificed and the tumor tissues were subjected to western blot analysis and immunohistochemical (IHC) staining. GA inhibited NCI-H1993 xenograft tumor growth in a dose-dependent manner. Western blot analysis demonstrated that expression of phosphorylated (p)-MET and its downstream signaling molecules p-AKT and p-ERK1/2 were significantly inhibited by GA. IHC analysis of Ki-67 expression demonstrated that GA treatment resulted in dose-dependent inhibition of tumor cell proliferation. GA exerted antitumor effects on NCI-H1993 xenografts in vivo by direct regulation of the MET signaling pathway. Theses antitumor effects were primarily a result of its anti-proliferation function.
