Continuous ovarian imaging has been proven to be a method for monitoring the development of follicles in vivo. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of combining ultrasound bio-microscopy (UBM) with an intravital window for follicle imaging in rabbits and to monitor the ovarian dynamic processes. New Zealand White female rabbits (n = 10) received ovarian translocation to a subcutaneous position. The ovarian tissue was sutured onto the abdominal muscles and covered with an intravital window for the continuous monitoring of the follicles using UBM. Results show that physiological changes (red blood cell and white blood cell counts, feed intake, and body weight change) in rabbits induced by surgery returned to normal physiological levels in one week. Furthermore, UBM could provide high-resolution imaging of follicles through the intravital window. Daily monitoring of ovarian dynamic processes for 6 days displayed variabilities in follicle counts and size. Collectively, these results provide a relatively new method to monitor ovarian dynamic processes and to understand the reproductive physiology of female rabbits.

Background: The knowledge of coronary artery fistula (CAF) with coronary aneurysm mostly comes from case reports and is very limited. However, the management of CAF with and without aneurysm is different, more understanding of its clinical and imaging features is necessary. This is the first research focus on it through a large comparative study. Purpose: To investigate the differences in imaging and clinical features of CAF with and without aneurysms. Methods: We reviewed 96,037 consecutive patients undergoing coronary computed tomography angiogram (CCTA) between 2016 and 2020 and total of 429 CAF adult patients were enrolled. Those patients were divided into the CAF with aneurysm group (321 cases, 74.83%) and CAF without aneurysm group (108 cases, 25.17%) according to whether complicated with coronary aneurysm. Clinical baseline data, electrocardiographic (ECG) characteristics, the presence or absence of coronary atherosclerosis, complication symptoms and fistulous origin, entry site, number and diameter were analyzed. Chi-square test, T-test, Mann-Whitney U tests, and logistic regression analysis were performed. Results: Most of the clinical baseline data did not differ significantly between the two groups (P > 0.05). However, heart murmur, coronary atherosclerosis, infective endocarditis (IE), fistulous diameter and fistulous entry site were significantly different (P<0.05). Further multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that large fistulous diameter and coronary-cardiac chamber arterial fistulas was dependent risk factors for CAF complicated with aneurysm. Conclusion: CAF patients with aneurysm were more prone to develop heart murmur than those patients without aneurysm. Different from other sites of aneurysms, coronary atherosclerosis is more common in CAF without aneurysm. Larger fistulous diameter and coronary-cardiac chamber arterial fistula are dependent risk factors for CAF with aneurysms.

Nowadays, the companion animals (dogs or other pets) are considered as members of the family and have established strong emotional relationships with their owners. Dogs are long lived compared to food animals, so safety, adequacy, and efficacy of dog food is of great importance for their health. Cereals, cereal by-products as well as feedstuffs of plant origin are commonly employed food resources in dry food, yet are potential ingredients for mycotoxins contamination, so dogs are theoretically more vulnerable to exposure when consumed daily. Aflatoxins (AF), deoxynivalenol (DON), fumonisins (FUM), ochratoxin A (OTA), and zearalenone (ZEA) are the most frequent mycotoxins that might present in dog food and cause toxicity on the growth and metabolism of dogs. An understanding of toxicological effects and detoxification methods (physical, chemical, or biological approaches) of mycotoxins will help to improve commercial ped food quality, reduce harm and minimize exposure to dogs. Herein, we outline a description of mycotoxins detected in dog food, toxicity and clinical findings in dogs, as well as methods applied in mycotoxins detoxification. This review aims to provide a reference for future studies involved in the evaluation of the risk, preventative strategies, and clear criteria of mycotoxins for minimizing exposure, reducing harm, and preventing mycotoxicosis in dog.

Single-modality medical images often cannot contain sufficient valid information to meet the information requirements of clinical diagnosis. The diagnostic efficiency is always limited by observing multiple images at the same time. Image fusion is a technique that combines functional modalities such as positron emission computed tomography (PET) and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) with anatomical modalities such as computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to supplement the complementary information. Meanwhile, fusing two anatomical images (like CT-MRI) is often required to replace single MRI, and the fused images can improve the efficiency and accuracy of clinical diagnosis. To this end, in order to achieve high-quality, high-resolution and rich-detail fusion without artificial prior, an unsupervised deep learning image fusion framework is proposed in this paper. It is named the back project dense generative adversarial network (BPDGAN) framework. In particular, we construct a novel network based on the back project dense block (BPDB) and convolutional block attention module (CBAM). The BPDB can effectively mitigate the impact of black backgrounds on image content. Conversely, the CBAM improves the performance of BPDGAN on the texture and edge information. To conclude, qualitative and quantitative experiments are tested to demonstrate the superiority of BPDGAN. In terms of quantitative metrics, BPDGAN outperforms the state-of-the-art comparisons by approximately 19.58%, 14.84%, 10.40% and 86.78% on AG, EI, Qabf and Qcv metrics, respectively.
