RESUMO

Despite the pivotal role of stannum doping in achieving ultrahigh piezoelectric performance in barium titanate-based ceramics, the fundamental mechanisms underlying this enhancement remain elusive. Here, we introduce a single variable nonstoichiometric stannum strategy in lead-free barium titanate-based ceramics with giant piezoelectricity, revealing that stannum doping contributes intrinsically and extrinsically to enhance piezoelectricity. Density functional theory calculations elucidate the intrinsic enhancement of polarization arising from lattice distortion and increased space for titanium-oxygen bonds induced by optimal stannum doping, which is corroborated by Rayleigh analysis. A phase transition from ferroelectric multiphase coexistence to paraelectric phase is observed, alongside a rapid miniaturized and eventually disappeared domains with increasing stannum doping. This evolution in phase structure and domain configuration induces a nearly vanishing polarization anisotropy and low domain wall energy, facilitating easy polarization rotation and domain wall motion, thereby significantly contributing to the extrinsic piezoelectric response. Consequently, the origins of ultrahigh performance can be attributed to the synergistic effect of stannum-induced intrinsic and extrinsic contributions in barium titanate-based ceramics. This study provides fundamental insights into the role of doping elements and offers guidance for the design of high-performance piezoelectrics.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Premature infants requiring mechanical ventilation and supplemental oxygen for respiratory support are at increased risk for bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), wherein inflammation have been proposed as a driver of hyperoxia-induced injuries, including persistent loss of endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs), impaired vascularization and eventual alveolar simplification in BPD lungs. However, the underlying mechanisms linking these phenomena remain poorly defined. METHODS: We used clodronate liposomes to deplete macrophages in a mouse model of neonatal hyperoxia-induced lung injury to evaluate if EPC loss in BPD lungs could be an effect of macrophage infiltration. We further generated in vitro culture systems initiated with cord blood (CB)-derived CD34+ EPCs and neonatal macrophages either polarized from CB-derived monocytes or isolated from tracheal aspirates of human preterm infants requiring mechanical ventilation and oxygen supplementation, to identify EV-transmitted molecular mechanism that is critical for inhibitory actions of hyperoxic macrophages on EPCs. RESULTS: Initial experiments using mouse model identified the crucial role of macrophage infiltration in eliciting significant reduction of c-Kit+ EPCs in BPD lungs. Further examination of this concept in human system, we found that hyperoxia-exposed neonatal macrophages hamper human CD34+ EPC maintenance and impair endothelial function in the differentiated progeny via the EV transmission of miR-23a-3p. Notably, treatment with antagomiR-23a-3p to silence miR-23a-3p in vivo enhances c-Kit+ EPC maintenance, and increases capillary density, and consequently mitigates simplified alveolarization in BPD lungs. CONCLUSION: Our findings highlight the importance of pulmonary intercellular communication in the pathophysiology of BPD, by identifying a linkage through vesicle transfer of miR-23a-3p from hyperoxic macrophages to EPCs, and thus demonstrating potential for novel therapeutic target in BPD.

RESUMO

The presence of heavy metal ions in the environment is a long-lasting problem that requires the simultaneous detection of Hg(II) and Pb(II) which is both vital and challenging. This present study examines a simplified and effective approach for synthesizing multi-walled carbon nanotube-copper manganese oxide (MWCNT-CuMn2O4) and multi-walled carbon nanotube-zinc manganese oxide (MWCNT-ZnMn2O4) nanocomposites for electrochemical detection of heavy metal ions. The nanocomposites MWCNT-CuMn2O4 and MWCNT-ZnMn2O4 exceptional electrochemical performance was evaluated using Square Wave Anodic Stripping Voltammetry (SWASV). The fabricated MWCNT-ZnMn2O4 demonstrated lower values of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) with charge transfer resistance (Rct) of approximately 34.13 Ω. Remarkably, the MWCNT-ZnMn2O4 electrochemical sensor exhibited the widest linear ranges of 0.5-10 µM with sensitive detection limits (0.011 µM for Hg(II) and 0.014 µM for Pb(II)). Interestingly, the MWCNT-ZnMn2O4 sensor showed excellent capability in detecting Hg(II) and Pb(II) in real water samples with a recovery percentage of 94.1% and 91.3%. Overall, the MWCNT-ZnMn2O4 modified GCE showcased superior selectivity, sensitivity, reproducibility, stability, and repeatability.

RESUMO

Copper-mediated cell death presents distinct pathways from established apoptosis processes, suggesting alternative therapeutic approaches for colon cancer. Our research aims to develop a predictive framework utilizing long-noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) related to cuproptosis to predict colon cancer outcomes while examining immune interactions and intercellular signaling. We obtained colon cancer-related human mRNA expression profiles and clinical information from the Cancer Genome Atlas repository. To isolate lncRNAs involved in cuproptosis, we applied Cox proportional hazards modeling alongside the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator technique. We elucidated the underlying mechanisms by examining the tumor mutational burden, the extent of immune cell penetration, and intercellular communication dynamics. Based on the model, drugs were predicted and validated with cytological experiments. A 13 lncRNA-cuproptosis-associated risk model was constructed. Two colon cancer cell lines were used to validate the predicted representative mRNAs with high correlation coefficients with copper-induced cell death. Survival enhancement in the low-risk cohort was evidenced by the trends in Kaplan-Meier survival estimates. Analysis of immune cell infiltration suggested that survival was induced by the increased infiltration of naïve CD4+ T cells and a reduction of M2 macrophages within the low-risk faction. Decreased infiltration of naïve B cells, resting NK cells, and M0 macrophages was significantly associated with better overall survival. Combined single-cell analysis suggested that CCL5-ACKR1, CCL2-ACKR1, and CCL5-CCR1 pathways play key roles in mediating intercellular dialogues among immune constituents within the neoplastic microhabitat. We identified three drugs with a high sensitivity in the high-risk group. In summary, this discovery establishes the possibility of using 13 cuproptosis-associated lncRNAs as a risk model to assess the prognosis, unravel the immune mechanisms and cell communication, and improve treatment options, which may provide a new idea for treating colon cancer.

RESUMO

Solving the problem of ice accumulation on solid surfaces is of great significance to the economic development of the country and the safety of people's lives. In this work, a coating with multifunctional photothermal/electrothermal solid-state lubrication (PEL) for anti-icing/deicing was prepared in layers based on the intrinsic properties of silicone oil and paraffin wax in combination with conductive graphite and multiwalled carbon nanotubes. Silicone oils and paraffins are used as lubricating media giving the coating excellent lubricity, which results in a water sliding angle (SA) of only 12° on the PEL surface. Meanwhile, PEL shows favorable static and dynamic ice resistance at low temperatures; at -10 °C, the freezing time of water droplets on the PEL surface is extended by at least 4 times compared to the bare substrate. Furthermore, PEL also offers highly efficient photothermal and electrothermal deicing performance, which can effectively remove the accumulated ice at a light intensity of 0.6 kW/m2 or an EPD of 0.1 W/cm2. Meanwhile, the synergistic deicing mechanism of photothermal and electrothermal was verified at -20 °C. Interestingly, the coating shows heat-assisted healing ability due to the phase change characteristic of paraffin wax, which allows the coating to regain lubricating properties after mechanical abrasion. Therefore, this work provides a reliable way for the design of stable all-weather anti-icing/deicing strategies at low temperatures.

RESUMO

Dangerous biological agents (DBAs) refer to microorganisms, toxins, and other biological substances that have the potential to cause significant harm to humans, animals, plants, and the environment. They are the primary target of the prevention and response in China's Biosafety Law, and it is of great importance to clarify the characteristics of DBAs in the Beijing suburban rivers for the insurance of the water safety in Beijing. The typical Beijing suburban rivers (Mangniu River, Chaohe River, and Baihe River) were selected, and the occurrence and distribution of DBAs concerning the molecular biology composition as the nucleic acid (antibiotic resistance genes, ARGs), nucleic acid and proteins (viruses), and intact cellular structures (pathogens) were determined based on the metagenomics. The results showed that there was a high abundance of multidrug-resistant ARGs in the water and substrates of the urban river; on average, they made up 74.11% ±6.82% of the total, and the abundance of aminoglycoside and MLS (macrolide-lincosamide-streptomycin)-resistant ARGs was the highest, but the predominant subtypes of ARGs were of low risk and had limited transmission potential. The viruses in the tributary mainly belonged to the phages, most of which were Kyanoviridae and Peduoviridae, with averages of 16.98% ±8.44% and 16.19% ±10.79%, respectively. Eukaryotic viral populations consisted mainly of members from the Mimiviridae and Phycodnaviridae families, with averages of 10.37% ±12.68% and 8.34% ±6.97%, respectively, whereas there were few viruses related to human and animal diseases. The pathogenic bacteria mainly contained Neisseria meningitidis, Brucella suis, Salmonella enterica, and Burkholderia pseudomalle, with averages of 19.17% ±3.63%, 12.76% ±2.88%, 11.22% ±1.95%, and 8.26% ±1.84%, respectively. The composition and abundance of pathogenic bacteria varied significantly among different tributaries and locations, possibly owing to water quality, pollution sources, environmental factors, and human activities. These findings can provide data support for the water safety management and biological risk control of Beijing suburban rivers.

RESUMO

Candesartan is an antihypertensive agent that acts on an angiotensin II receptor. Candesartan cilexetil is a prodrug that is converted into the active form of candesartan during intestinal absorption. This study aimed to assess the pharmacokinetics and bioequivalence of a reference and a test formulation of candesartan cilexetil tablets in healthy Chinese volunteers. A randomized, open-label, single-dose, crossover study was conducted with two treatment periods. Forty-eight healthy Chinese volunteers participated under fasted conditions. Qualified subjects were randomly divided into two groups (1:1 ratio) to receive either the test or reference formulation first. A washout period of 14 days separated the administration of the two formulations. Blood samples were collected at specific time points and analyzed for candesartan concentration using Ultra High-Performance Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS). The maximum concentration (Cmax), the AUC from time zero to the last measured time point (AUC0-t) and the AUC from time zero to infinity (AUC0-∞) fell within the bioequivalence range of 80% to 125%. These results suggest that the test and reference formulations of candesartan cilexetil tablets are bioequivalent, meaning they have similar rates and extents of absorption in healthy Chinese volunteers. No serious adverse events or side effects were reported throughout the study.

RESUMO

Dihydroxyaluminum aminoacetate, heavy magnesium carbonate, and aspirin tablets is a new combined aspirin preparation, each containing aspirin (81 mg), dihydroxyaluminum aminoacetate (11 mg), and heavy magnesium carbonate (22 mg). This study was conducted to evaluate the pharmacokinetic (PK) and bioequivalence in healthy Chinese subjects. This randomized, open-label, single-dose, 2-sequence, and 2-period crossover study included 78 healthy volunteers (fasting, n = 36; postprandial, n = 42). Blood samples were collected for PK analysis. Aspirin and salicylic acid concentrations in human plasma were determined by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. Safety and tolerability were monitored. There were no significant differences between the test and reference formulations in maximum plasma concentration, area under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC) from time 0 to time t, or AUC from time 0 to infinity. The 90% confidence intervals of the test and reference formulations of maximum plasma concentration, AUC from time 0 to time t, and AUC from time 0 to infinity were within the acceptable range (80%-125%) under fasting and postprandial conditions. All adverse events were mild and no serious adverse events were observed in the study. Both compounds were well tolerated in healthy Chinese volunteers.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Venlafaxine hydrochloride extended-release (ER) capsules are commonly used to treat depression and anxiety disorders. Evaluation of the bioequivalence of generic formulations with reference products is essential to ensure therapeutic equivalence. The objective of this study was to evaluate the bioequivalence, safety, and tolerability of Chinese-manufactured venlafaxine hydrochloride extended-release capsules compared with USA-manufactured EFFEXOR® XR in healthy Chinese volunteers under fed conditions. METHODS: A randomized, open-label, single-dose, crossover study was conducted. Subjects were randomly assigned to receive the test formulation (one 150-mg ER capsule manufactured in China) or the reference formulation (one 150-mg ER capsule manufactured in the USA). The bioequivalence of the two drugs was assessed using the area under the plasma concentration-time curve from time zero to the last sampling time (AUC0-t) and the maximum observed concentration (Cmax). RESULTS: A total of 28 subjects were enrolled and randomly assigned to receive a single dose of either the test or reference capsule. All the subjects completed the study and were included in the pharmacokinetic (PK) and safety analyses. The mean AUC0-t and Cmax of venlafaxine and its active metabolite O-desmethylvenlafaxine were comparable between the test and reference products with both parameters close to 100% and the corresponding 90% confidence intervals within the specified 80-125% bioequivalence boundary. Safety was also assessed between the two products and all adverse events (AEs) in this study were mild in severity. CONCLUSIONS: Both the test and reference venlafaxine hydrochloride ER capsules were bioequivalent and showed a similar safety and tolerability profile in the population studied. CLINICAL TRIALS REGISTRATION: This study was registered at the Drug Clinical Trial Registration and Information Publicity Platform ( http://www.chinadrugtrials.org.cn/index.html ) with registration number CTR20211243, date: June 1, 2021.

RESUMO

Perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) exhibit remarkable potential in the field of displays and solid-state lighting. However, blue PeLEDs, a key element for practical applications, still lag behind their green and red counterparts, due to a combination of strong nonradiative recombination losses and unoptimized device structures. In this report, we propose a buried interface modification strategy to address these challenges by focusing on the bottom-hole transport layer (HTL) of the PeLEDs. On the one hand, a multifunctional molecule, aminoacetic acid hydrochloride (AACl), is introduced to modify the HTL/perovskite interface to regulate the perovskite crystallization. Experimental investigations and theoretical calculations demonstrate that AACl can effectively reduce the nonradiative recombination losses in bulk perovskites by suppressing the growth of low-n perovskite phases and also the losses at the bottom interface by passivating interfacial defects. On the other hand, a self-assembly nanomesh structure is ingeniously developed within the HTLs. This nanomesh structure is meticulously crafted through the blending of poly-(9,9-dioctyl-fluorene-co-N-(4-butyl phenyl) diphenylamine) and poly (n-vinyl carbazole), significantly enhancing the light outcoupling efficiency in PeLEDs. As a result, our blue PeLEDs achieve remarkable external quantum efficiencies, 20.4% at 487 nm and 12.5% at 470 nm, which are among the highest reported values. Our results offer valuable insights and effective methods for achieving high-performance blue PeLEDs.

RESUMO

Systemic amyloid A (AA) amyloidosis, which is considered the second most common form of systemic amyloidosis usually takes place several years prior to the occurrence of chronic inflammation, generally involving the kidney. Activated HSF1, which alleviated unfolded protein response (UPR) or enhanced HSR, is the potential therapeutic target of many diseases. However, the effect of HSF1 on AA amyloidosis remains unclear. This study focused on evaluating effect of HSF1 on AA amyloidosis based on HSF1 knockout mice. As a result, aggravated amyloid deposits and renal dysfunction have been found in HSF1 knockout mice. In progressive AA amyloidosis, HSF1 deficiency enhances serum amyloid A production might to lead to severe AA amyloid deposition in mice, which may be related to deactivated unfolded protein response as well as enhanced inflammation. Thus, HSF1 plays a significant role on UPR related pathway impacting AA amyloid deposition, which can mitigate amyloidogenic proteins from aggregation pathologically and is the possible way for intervening with the pathology of systemic amyloid disorder. In conclusion, HSF1 could not only serve as a new target for AA amyloidosis treatment in the future, but HSF1 knockout mice also can be considered as a valuable novel animal model for renal AA amyloidosis.

RESUMO

High-temperature piezoelectric materials, which enable the accurate and reliable sensing of physical parameters to guarantee the functional operation of various systems under harsh conditions, are highly demanded. To this end, both large piezoelectricity and high Curie temperature are pivotal figures of merit (FOMs) for high-temperature piezoceramics. Unfortunately, despite intensive pursuits, it remains a formidable challenge to unravel the inverse correlation between these FOMs. Herein, a conceptual material paradigm of multiscale structural engineering was proposed to address this dilemma. The synergistic effects of phase structure reminiscent of a polymorphic phase boundary and refined domain morphology simultaneously contribute to a large piezoelectric coefficient d33 of 30.3 pC/N and a high Curie temperature TC of 740 °C in (LiCeNd) codoped Na0.5Bi2.5Nb2O9 (NBN-LCN) ceramics. More encouragingly, the system has exceptional thermal stability and is nonsusceptible to mechanical loading. This study not only demonstrates that the high-performance and robust NBN-LCN high-temperature piezoceramics hold great potential for implements under harsh conditions but also opens an avenue for integrating antagonistic properties for the enhancement of the collective performance in functional materials.

RESUMO

Two-dimensional (2D) Dion-Jacobson (DJ) perovskites typically outperform Ruddlesden-Popper (RP) analogs in terms of photodetection (PD). However, the mechanism behind this enhanced performance remains elusive. Theoretical calculations for elucidating interlayer spacer conformation-induced multiple hydrogen bonds in 2D perovskite are presented, along with the synthesis of DPAPbBr4 (DPB) single crystals (SCs) and their PD properties under X-ray/ultraviolet (UV) excitation. The high-quality DPB SC enhances PD with exceptional photoresponse attributes, including a high on/off ratio (4.89 × 104), high responsivity (2.44 A W⁻1), along with large dynamic linear range (154 dB) and low detection limit (7.1 nW cm⁻2), which are currently the best results among 2D perovskite SC detectors, respectively. Importantly, high-resolution images are obtained under UV illumination with weak light levels. The SC X-ray detector exhibits a high sensitivity of 663 µC Gyair⁻1 cm-2 at 10 V and a detection limit of 1.44 µGyair s⁻1. This study explores 2D DJ perovskites for efficient and innovative optoelectronic applications.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Necroptosis is an inflammatory cell death mode, and its association with multiple myeloma (MM) remains unclear. METHODS: This prospective study first analyzed the association between necroptosis-related signature as well as prognosis and chemotherapy sensitivity in MM using the necroptosis score. Consensus clustering was used to identify necroptosis-related molecular clusters. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator analysis and multivariate Cox regression analysis were performed to establish the prognostic model of necroptosis-related genes (NRGs). RESULTS: A high necroptosis score was associated with poor prognosis and abundant immune infiltration. Two molecular clusters (clusters A and B) significantly differed in terms of prognosis and tumor microenvironment. Cluster B had a worse prognosis and higher tumor marker pathway activity than cluster A. The risk score model based on four NRGs can accurately predict the prognosis of patients with MM, which was validated in two validation cohorts. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that the area under the curves of the risk score in predicting the 1-, 3-, and 5-year survival rates were 0.710, 0.758, and 0.834, respectively. Further, the activity of pathways related to proliferation and genetic regulation in the high-risk group significantly increased. The drug prediction results showed that the low-risk score group was more sensitive to bortezomib, cytarabine, and doxorubicin than the high-risk score group. Meanwhile, the high-risk score group was more sensitive to lenalidomide and vinblastine than the low-risk score group. Finally, the upregulation of model genes CHMP1A, FAS, JAK3, and HSP90AA1 in clinical samples collected from patients with MM was validated via real-time polymerase chain reaction. CONCLUSION: A systematic analysis of NRGs can help identify potential necroptosis-related mechanisms and provide novel biomarkers for MM prognosis prediction, tumor microenvironment evaluation, and personalized treatment planning.

RESUMO

Halide perovskites have emerged as highly promising materials for ionizing radiation detection due to their exceptional characteristics, including a large mobility-lifetime product, strong stopping power, tunable band gap, and cost-effective crystal growth via solution processes. Semiconductor-type X-ray detectors employing various micro/nano perovskite materials have shown impressive progress in achieving heightened sensitivity and lower detection limits. Here, we present a comprehensive review of the applications of micro/nano perovskite materials for direct type X-ray detection, with a focus on the requirements for micro/nano crystal assembly and device properties in advanced X-ray detectors. We explore diverse processing techniques and optoelectronic considerations applied to perovskite X-ray detectors. Additionally, this review highlights the challenges and promising opportunities for perovskite X-ray detector arrays in real-world applications, potentially necessitating further research efforts.

RESUMO

Amorphous potassium sodium niobate (KNN) films were synthesized at 300 °C through the radio frequency magnetron sputtering method and subsequently crystallized by post-annealing at 700 °C in various alkali element atmospheres (Na and K). The as-deposited film is notably deficient in alkali metal elements, particularly K, whereas the loss of alkali elements in the films can be replenished through annealing in an alkali element atmosphere. By adjusting the molar ratio of Na and K in the annealing atmosphere, the ratio of Na/K in the resultant film varied, consequently suggesting the efficiency of this method on composition regulation of KNN films. Meanwhile, we also found that the physical characteristics of the films also underwent differences with the change of an annealing atmosphere. The films annealed in a high Na atmosphere exhibit large dielectric losses with limited piezoelectric vibration behavior, while annealing in a high K atmosphere reduces the dielectric losses and enhances the piezoelectric behavior. Furthermore, the results of vibration measurement demonstrated that the film annealed in a mixed powder of 25% Na2CO3 and 75% K2CO3 exhibits an optimal vibration displacement of ~400 pm under the sinusoidal excitation voltage of 8 V. This approach of altering the composition of KNN films through post-annealing may introduce the new concept of property design of KNN as well as other similar films.

RESUMO

Hexaploid triticale is an important genetic resource for genetic improvement of common wheat, which can broaden the genetic basis of wheat. In order to lay a foundation for the subsequent research and utilization of triticale germplasm materials, the chromosomal genetic characteristics of cross and backcross offspring of hexaploid triticale×hexaploid wheat were investigated in the process of transferring rye chromatin from hexaploid triticale to hexaploid wheat. Hybrid and backcross combinations were prepared with hexaploid triticale 16yin171 as the maternal parent and hexaploid wheat Chuanmai62 as the paternal parent. The chromosomes in root tip cells of F1, BC1F1 and BC1F2 plants were traced and identified non-denaturing florescence in situ hybridization (ND-FISH). The results indicated that the backcross setting rate of hybrid F1 was 2.61%. The transmission frequency of 2R chromosome was the highest in BC1F1 plants while the transmissibility of rye chromosome in BC1F2 plant was 6R>4R>2R, and the 5B-7B wheat translocation in BC1F2 plants showed severe segregation. A total of 24 structural variant chromosomes were observed both in BC1F1 and BC1F2 plants, including chromosome fragments, isochromosomes, translocations, and dicentric chromosomes. In addition, the seed length and 1000-grain weight of some BC1F2 plants were better than that of the hexaploid wheat parent Chuanmai 62. Therefore, multiple backcrosses should be adopted as far as possible to make the rapid recovery of group D chromosomes, ensuring the recovery of fertility in offspring, when hexaploid tritriale is used as a bridge to introduce rye genetic material into common wheat. At the same time, the potential application value of chromosomal structural variation materials should be also concerned.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Shenzhen is one of the most populated metropolises in southern China where thalassemia is highly prevalent. The prevention of thalassemia inheritance is an ambition of child-bearing couples. METHODS AND RESULTS: A total of 22,098 peripheral blood samples were collected from 11,049 potentially at-risk couples of childbearing age from Shenzhen. Thalassemia mutations were determined by PCR-based flow-through hybridization. The results identified 45.02% of the participants (9948 out of 22,098) as harboring globin gene mutations, distributed into 18 α-thalassemia alleles detected in 71.48% (7111 out of 9948) and 15 ß-thalassemia alleles detected in 32.68% (3252 out of 9948) of all mutant individuals, among which 415 individuals carried both α- and ß-thalassemia alleles. The most frequent phenotypes for α-globin variations were --SEA/αα (63.37%), -α3.7/αα (18.66%), and -α4.2/αα (7.31%), and those for ß-globin variations were ß41-42/ßN (34.96%), ß654/ßN (28.11%), and ß17/ßN (13.84%). A total of 970 high-risk couples who could possibly give birth to offspring with thalassemia intermedia or major were identified. In addition, the hematological indices were compared among thalassemia genotypes. Significant differences in MCH, MCV, Hb A, and Hb A2 levels among α-thalassemia minor (α+), trait (α0), and intermediate phenotypes (P < 0.05) and between ßE/ßN and the other ß-thalassemia phenotypes (P < 0.05) were found. Moreover, GAP-PCR and next-generation sequencing further identified 42 rare mutations, 13 of which were first reported in the Chinese population. A novel mutation in the ß-globin gene (HBB: c.246 C > A (rs145669504)) was also discovered. CONCLUSIONS: This study presented a comprehensive analysis of thalassemia variations in a population from Shenzhen and may offer valuable insights for thalassemia control and intervention strategies in this area.

RESUMO

Low-bandgap (LBG, Eg  ≈1.25 eV) tin-lead (Sn-Pb) perovskite solar cells (PSCs) play critical roles in constructing efficient all-perovskite tandem solar cells (TSCs) that can surpass the efficiency limit of single-junction solar cells. However, the traditional poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) hole transport layer (HTL) in LBG PSCs usually restricts device efficiency and stability. Here, a strategy of employing 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid (i.e., taurine) as the interface bridge to fabricate efficient HTL-free LBG PSCs with improved optoelectronic properties of the perovskite absorbers at the buried contacts is reported. Taurine-modified ITO substrate has lower optical losses, better energy level alignment, and higher charge transfer capability than PEDOT:PSS HTL, leading to significantly improved open-circuit voltage (VOC ) and short-circuit current density of corresponding devices. The best-performing LBG PSC with a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 22.50% and an impressive VOC of 0.911 V is realized, enabling all-perovskite TSCs with an efficiency of 26.03%. The taurine-based HTL-free TSCs have highly increased stability, retaining more than 90% and 80% of their initial PCEs after constant operation under 1-sun illumination for 600 h and under 55 °C thermal stress for 950 h, respectively. This work provides a facile strategy for fabricating efficient and stable perovskite devices with a simplified HTL-free architecture.
