[Vaginal leiomyosarcoma in pregnancy]. / Leiomiosarkoma vlagalishcha u beremennoi.

The article presents a rare clinical observation of a vaginal tumor detected during pregnancy, which prevented delivery through the natural birth canal and caused a cesarean section at full term. According to the primary biopsy at 34 weeks, neurofibroma was diagnosed. In the postpartum period, due to profuse bloody discharge, the patient was admitted to the Moscow Regional Research Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology for surgical treatment, where, according to the results of a morphological study of the removed tumor, vaginal leiomyosarcoma was diagnosed.

Quenching of fluorescence of phenolic compounds and modified humic acids by cadmium ions.

The interaction of a number of phenolic compounds, being 'model fragments' of humic acids, with cadmium ions was investigated. The fluorescence quenching method was used to determine the complexation constants of these compounds with cadmium ions. It was established that bonding of phenolic compounds by cadmium ions at рН 7 is weak and reaches a maximum value of 15% for interaction with resorcinol. It was demonstrated that modification of humic acids by the mechanoactivation method increases by three times bonding of cadmium ions, which is caused by strengthening the acid properties of carboxyl and hydroxyl groups at the aromatic ring. [Availability of Potassium and Magnesium Ions is a Fundamental Condition for the Maintenance of Normal Blood Pressure].

Administration of preparations of potassium and magnesium to patients with arterial hypertension is an accepted therapeutic practice. In this paper we examine relationships between the content of potassium and magnesium in the body and levels of arterial pressure. Results of relevant fundamental and clinical studies are also presented. In hypertension and hypotension modulating effects of potassium and magnesium develop with the use of their small doses compensating deficit of these elements.

Fluorescence analysis of photoinduced degradation of ecotoxicants in the presence of humic acids.

The photolysis of humic acids and phenols in water containing humic acids was investigated. Humic acids extracted from peat (Vasuygan Bog, Tomsk Region, Russian Federation) induce the phototransformation of 4-chlorophenol at 365 and 222 nm. Humic acids were characterized by UV-, fluorescence-, IR- and EPR-spectroscopy and laser-induced fluorescence. The influence of humic acids on the phototransformation of phenols in different irradiation conditions was investigated. Comparison of the data on mercury lamp irradiation showed that the most effective phenols degradation was observed under exposure to KrCl* exilamp light (lambda = 222 nm) in the presence of humic acids.

Changes in antigenic characteristics of erythrocytes and number metaphase chromosome in bone marrow cells after experimental and clinical bone marrow transplantation.

Transplantation of allogenic bone marrow from HLA-identical sibs to patients with acute and chronic leukemia receiving immunosuppressive therapy is associated with the appearance of erythrocytes simultaneously carrying donor and recipient antigenic markers: AB0 system, rhesus factor and its subtypes, M and N antigens. Integration of genes responsible for each antigen is realized independently presumably at the level of stem cell, which ensures long-term (>3 years) repopulation of these erythrocytes. Experiments on inbred mice showed that transplantation of allogenic bone marrow is associated with an increase of chromosome number in 39% bone marrow cells 4 days after transplantation, which indicate the possibility of integration of whole chromosomes.
