RESUMO

The inference of body fluids and tissues is critical in reconstructing crime scenes and inferring criminal behaviors. Nevertheless, present methods are incompatible with conventional DNA genotyping, and additional testing might result in excessive consumption of forensic scene materials. This study aims to investigate the feasibility of distinguishing common body fluids/tissues through the difference in mitochondrial DNA copy number (mtDNAcn). Four types of body fluids/tissues were analyzed in this study - hair, saliva, semen, and skeletal muscle. MtDNAcn was estimated by dividing the read counts of mitochondrial DNA to that of nuclear DNA (RRmt/nu). Results indicated that there were significant differences in RRmt/nu between different body fluids/tissues. Specifically, hair samples exhibited the highest RRmt/nu (log10RRmt/nu: 4.3 ± 0.28), while semen samples showed the lowest RRmt/nu (log10RRmt/nu: -0.1 ± 0.28). RRmt/nu values for DNA samples without extraction were notably higher (approximately 2.9 times) than those obtained after extraction. However, no significant difference in RRmt/nu was observed between various age and gender groups. Hierarchical clustering and Kmeans clustering analyses showed that body fluids/tissues of the same type clustered closely to each other and could be inferred with high accuracy. In conclusion, this study demonstrated that the simultaneous detection of nuclear and mitochondrial DNA made it possible to perform conventional DNA analyses and body fluid/tissue inference at the same time, thus killing two birds with one stone. Furthermore, mtDNAcn has the potential to serve as a novel and promising biomarker for the identification of body fluids/tissues.

RESUMO

Background: A range of imaging modalities have reported Alzheimer's disease-related abnormalities in individuals experiencing subjective cognitive decline (SCD). However, there has been no consistent local abnormality identified across multiple neuroimaging modalities for SCD. Objective: We aimed to investigate the convergent local alterations in amyloid-ß (Aß) deposition, glucose metabolism, and resting-state functional MRI (RS-fMRI) metrics in SCD. Methods: Fifty SCD patients (66.4±5.7 years old, 19 men [38%]) and 15 normal controls (NC) (66.3±4.4 years old, 5 men [33.3%]) were scanned with both [18F]-florbetapir PET and [18F]-fluorodeoxyglucose PET, as well as simultaneous RS-fMRI from February 2018 to November 2018. Voxel-wise metrics were retrospectively analyzed, including Aß deposition, glucose metabolism, amplitude of low frequency fluctuation (ALFF), regional homogeneity (ReHo), and degree centrality(DC). Results: The SCD group showed increased Aß deposition and glucose metabolism (p < 0.05, corrected), as well as decreased ALFF, ReHo, and DC (p < 0.05, uncorrected) in the left dorsal precuneus (dPCu). Furthermore, the dPCu illustrated negative resting-state functional connectivity with the default mode network. Regarding global Aß deposition positivity, the Aß deposition in the left dPCu showed a gradient change, i.e., Aß positive SCD > Aß negative SCD > Aß negative NC. Additionally, both Aß positive SCD and Aß negative SCD showed increased glucose metabolism and decreased RS-fMRI metrics in the dPCu. Conclusions: The dorsal precuneus, an area implicated in early AD, shows convergent neuroimaging alterations in SCD, and might be more related to other cognitive functions (e.g., unfocused attention) than episodic memory.

RESUMO

AIMS: Maternal positions during childbirth play an important role in safe vaginal births and might also influence women's childbirth experiences greatly. Lateral positions, as a potential position to reduce negative maternal and neonatal outcomes, have become popular in recent years, especially in China where the adoption of conventional lithotomy positions is still common. However, the childbirth experience of those who gave birth in lateral positions has been rarely studied. This study aimed to describe and compare women's childbirth experiences of adopting the newly introduced lateral positions and the conventional lithotomy positions during the second stage of labour. STUDY DESIGN: A cross-sectional study was conducted in two tertiary hospitals in China involving a total of 658 primiparous and parous women who adopted lateral and lithotomy positions during the second stage of labour from July to November 2020. Sociodemographic characteristics, maternal and neonatal outcomes as well as childbirth experience assessed by the Childbirth Experience Questionnaire (CEQ) were collected. This study followed the STROBE guidelines. RESULTS: Women who once adopted lateral positions during the second stage of labour had better positive childbirth experiences compared with those in the lithotomy positions group, as demonstrated by their overall higher CEQ scores. Women in the lateral position group also reported better participation and perceived safety, and a greater sense of control during childbirth. Lateral positions remained an influential factor in CEQ scores after controlling for potential confounders. In this study, adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes were rare. Women in lateral positions had comparatively better perineal outcomes. CONCLUSION: This study described and compared women's childbirth experiences of adopting conventional lithotomy positions and lateral positions during the second stage of labour using a valid instrument. Women who adopted lateral positions during the second stage of labour reported better childbirth experiences than those giving birth in the conventional lithotomy positions. Thus, assisting women in giving birth in lateral positions might be a promising way to improve women's childbirth experience.

RESUMO

KEY MESSAGE: Multiple regulatory pathways of Zostera japonica to salt stress were identified through growth, physiological, transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses. Seagrasses are marine higher submerged plants that evolved from terrestrial monocotyledons and have fully adapted to the high saline seawater environment during the long evolutionary process. As one of the seagrasses growing in the intertidal zone, Zostera japonica not only has the ability to quickly adapt to short-term salt stress but can also survive at salinities ranging from the lower salinity of the Yellow River estuary to the higher salinity of the bay, making it a good natural model for studying the mechanism underlying the adaptation of plants to salt stress. In this work, we screened the growth, physiological, metabolomic, and transcriptomic changes of Z. japonica after a 5-day exposure to different salinities. We found that high salinity treatment impeded the growth of Z. japonica, hindered its photosynthesis, and elicited oxidative damage, while Z. japonica increased antioxidant enzyme activity. At the transcriptomic level, hypersaline stress greatly reduced the expression levels of photosynthesis-related genes while increasing the expression of genes associated with flavonoid biosynthesis. Meanwhile, the expression of candidate genes involved in ion transport and cell wall remodeling was dramatically changed under hypersaline stress. Moreover, transcription factors signaling pathways such as mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) were also significantly influenced by salt stress. At the metabolomic level, Z. japonica displayed an accumulation of osmolytes and TCA mediators under hypersaline stress. In conclusion, our results revealed a complex regulatory mechanism in Z. japonica under salt stress, and the findings will provide important guidance for improving salt resistance in crops.

RESUMO

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a behaviorally defined complex neurodevelopmental syndrome characterized by persistent social communication and interaction deficit. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a promising and emerging tool for the intervention of ASD by reducing both core and associate symptoms. Several reviews have been published regarding TMS-based ASD treatment, however, a systematic review on study characteristics, specific stimulating parameters, localization techniques, stimulated targets, behavioral outcomes, and neuroimage biomarker changes is lagged behind since 2018. Here, we performed a systematic search on literatures published after 2018 in PubMed, Web of Science, and Science Direct. After screening, the final systematic review included 17 articles, composing seven randomized controlled trial studies and ten open-label studies. Two studies are double-blind, while the other studies have a moderate to high risk of bias attributing to inadequate subject- and evaluator-blinding to treatment allocation. Five studies utilize theta-burst stimulation mode, and the others apply repetitive TMS with low frequency (five studies), high frequency (six studies), and combined low and high frequency stimulation (one study). Most researchers prioritize the bilateral dorsolateral prefrontal lobe as stimulation target, while parietal lobule, inferior parietal lobule, and posterior superior temporal sulci have also emerged as new targets of attention. One third of the studies use neuronavigation based on anatomical magnetic resonance imaging to locate the stimulation target. After TMS intervention, discernible enhancements across a spectrum of scales are evident in stereotyped behavior, repetitive behavior, and verbal social domains. A comprehensive review of literature spanning the last five years demonstrates the potential of TMS treatment for ASD in ameliorating the clinical core symptoms.

RESUMO

DNA mixtures are a common sample type in forensic genetics, and we typically assume that contributors to the mixture are unrelated when calculating the likelihood ratio (LR). However, scenarios involving mixtures with related contributors, such as in family murder or incest cases, can also be encountered. Compared to the mixtures with unrelated contributors, the kinship within the mixture would bring additional challenges for the inference of the number of contributors (NOC) and the construction of probabilistic genotyping models. To evaluate the influence of potential kinship on the individual identification of the person of interest (POI), we conducted simulations of two-person (2 P) and three-person (3 P) DNA mixtures containing unrelated or related contributors (parent-child, full-sibling, and uncle-nephew) at different mixing ratios (for 2 P: 1:1, 4:1, 9:1, and 19:1; for 3 P: 1:1:1, 2:1:1, 5:4:1, and 10:5:1), and performed massively parallel sequencing (MPS) using MGIEasy Signature Identification Library Prep Kit on MGI platform. In addition, in silico simulations of mixtures with unrelated and related contributors were also performed. In this study, we evaluated 1): the MPS performance; 2) the influence of multiple genetic markers on determining the presence of related contributors and inferring the NOC within the mixture; 3) the probability distribution of MAC (maximum allele count) and TAC (total allele count) based on in silico mixture profiles; 4) trends in LR values with and without considering kinship in mixtures with related and unrelated contributors; 5) trends in LR values with length- and sequence-based STR genotypes. Results indicated that multiple numbers and types of genetic markers positively influenced kinship and NOC inference in a mixture. The LR values of POI were strongly dependent on the mixing ratio. Non- and correct-kinship hypotheses essentially did not affect the individual identification of the major POI; the correct kinship hypothesis yielded more conservative LR values; the incorrect kinship hypothesis did not necessarily lead to the failure of POI individual identification. However, it is noteworthy that these considerations could lead to uncertain outcomes in the identification of minor contributors. Compared to length-based STR genotyping, using sequence-based STR genotype increases the individual identification power of the POI, concurrently improving the accuracy of mixing ratio inference using EuroForMix. In conclusion, the MGIEasy Signature Identification Library Prep kit demonstrated robust individual identification power, which is a viable MPS panel for forensic DNA mixture interpretations, whether involving unrelated or related contributors.

RESUMO

US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared a Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) system with functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging-guided (fMRI) individualized treatment protocol for major depressive disorder, which employs resting state-fMRI (RS-fMRI) functional connectivity (FC) to pinpoint the target individually to increase the accuracy and effeteness of the stimulation. Furthermore, task activation-guided TMS, as well as the use of RS-fMRI local metrics for targeted the specific abnormal brain regions, are considered a precise scheme for TMS targeting. Since 1.5 T MRI is more available in hospitals, systematic evaluation of the test-retest reliability and sensitivity of fMRI metrics on 1.5 T and 3 T MRI may provide reference for the application of fMRI-guided individualized-precise TMS stimulation. Twenty participants underwent three RS-fMRI scans and one scan of finger-tapping task fMRI with self-initiated (SI) and visual-guided (VG) conditions at both 3 T and 1.5 T. Then the location reliability derived by FC (with three seed regions) and peak activation were assessed by intra-individual distance. The test-retest reliability and sensitivity of five RS-fMRI local metrics were evaluated using intra-class correlation and effect size, separately. The intra-individual distance of peak activation location between 1.5 T and 3 T was 15.8 mm and 19 mm for two conditions, respectively. The intra-individual distance for the FC derived targets at 1.5 T was 9.6-31.2 mm, compared to that of 3 T (7.6-31.1 mm). The test-retest reliability and sensitivity of RS-fMRI local metrics showed similar trends on 1.5 T and 3 T. These findings hasten the application of fMRI-guided individualized TMS treatment in clinical practice.

RESUMO

The fatty acid (FA) and phospholipid composition of dietary lecithin may influence FA digestibility and milk production in cattle. Eight multiparous Holstein cows (99.4 ± 9.2 d in milk [DIM]; 48.9 ± 3.8 kg milk/d) were enrolled in a 3 × 3 incomplete Latin square design with 3 treatments provided as continuous abomasal infusates spanning 14-d experimental periods: water (CON), soybean phospholipids (SOY; 74.5 g of deoiled soy lecithin), or sunflower phospholipids (SUN; 133.5 g of hydrolyzed sunflower lecithin). Cows were fed the same diet, which contained (% dry matter) 27.0% neutral detergent fiber (NDF), 15.6% crude protein (CP), 26.2% starch, and 5.87% FA. Treatments did not modify body weight, milk fat, protein, or lactose contents, or the efficiency of producing energy-corrected milk. Cows infused with SUN had greater milk yields than those receiving SOY or CON treatments. Cows infused with SUN had higher total solids, protein, and lactose yields than cows receiving the SOY or CON treatments. Sunflower phospholipids enhanced feed efficiency (milk yield/dry matter intake) relative to SOY or CON. Treatment did not affect intakes or apparent total-tract digestibilities for NDF, CP, starch, or 16-carbon (16C) FA. Cows receiving SUN had greater total FA and 18-carbon (18C) FA intakes than SOY or CON, but treatments did not impact their digestibility. Milk FA composition was modified by treatment. Cows receiving SUN had a greater concentration of polyunsaturated FA and lower concentrations of saturated FA and monounsaturated FA in milk relative to SOY or CON. In conclusion, the abomasal infusion of SUN improved milk production and milk FA composition, indicating potential benefits for dairy cow nutrition and milk quality.

RESUMO

Micro-propagules (banks of microscopic forms) play important roles in the expansion of green tides, which are spreading on eutrophic coasts worldwide. In particular, large-scale green tides (Yellow Sea Green Tide, YSGTs) have persisted in the Yellow Sea for over 15 years, but the dynamics and functions of micro-propagules in their development remain unclear. In the present study, year-round field surveys were conducted to identify the reservoirs and investigate the persistence mechanisms and associated biotic and abiotic factors driving the temporal and spatial variations of micro-propagules. Micro-propagules in the southern Yellow Sea (SYS) showed evident spatial heterogeneity in terms of seasonal patterns and major influencing factors. Offshore of the SYS, the micro-propagule population underwent ephemeral expansion along with a large-scale bloom of floating Ulva algae in late spring and early summer. The Subei Shoal, particularly the sediments in the central raft region, had the highest micro-propagule abundance (MA) and was a major reservoir. The pronounced seasonal variation of MA in the Subei Shoal was primarily associated with the attached Ulva algae on Neopyropia aquaculture rafts. Vast aquaculture rafts provided essential substrates for micro-propagules to complete their life cycle and replenish the seed bank, thereby sustaining persistent YSGTs. It implied that habitat modification has pronounced ecological impacts on this intertidal muddy flat. The unique environmental conditions (enriched nutrients, esp. nitrate, favourable seawater temperatures in spring, and strong tidal mixing) facilitated the abundance, seasonal variation and recruitment of micro-propagules in the Subei Shoal. Given the current mitigation measures implemented in the raft region, further research is required to monitor and investigate the physiological and ecological responses of micro-propagule populations to the complex hydrobiological, geochemical, and physical matrices.

RESUMO

The development of excellent bifunctional electrocatalysts is an effective way to promote the industrial application of electrolytic water. In this work, a free-standing W-doped cobalt selenide (W-CoSe300/NF) electrocatalyst with a snowflake-like structure supported on nickel foam was prepared by a hydrothermal-selenization strategy. Benefiting from the high specific surface area of the 3D snowflake-like structure and the regulation of tungsten doping on the electronic structure of the metal active center, W-CoSe300/NF shows remarkable electrocatalytic water decomposition performance. In 1.0 M KOH, the W-CoSe300/NF electrocatalyst achieved an efficient HER and OER at a current density of 50 mA cm-2 with overpotentials as low as 84 mV and 283 mV, respectively. More importantly, W-CoSe300/NF acts as both the anode and cathode of the electrolytic tank, requiring only a potential of 1.54 V to obtain 10 mA cm-2 and can operate continuously for more than 120 hours at this current density. This study proposes a new way for the design of high efficiency and affordable bifunctional electrocatalysts.

RESUMO

Non-pharmaceutical midwifery techniques, including perineal warm compresses, to improve maternal outcomes remain controversial. The aims of this study are to assess the effects of perineal warm compresses on reducing perineal trauma and postpartum perineal pain relief. This systematic review included randomized controlled trials (RCTs). We searched seven bibliographic databases, three RCT register websites, and two dissertation databases for publications from inception to 15 March 2023. Chinese and English publications were included. Two independent reviewers conducted the risk of bias assessment, data extraction, and the evaluation of the certainty of the evidence utilizing the Cochrane risk of bias 2.0 assessment criteria, the Review Manager 5.4, and the online GRADEpro tool, respectively. Seven RCTs involving 1362 primiparous women were included. The combined results demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in the second-, third- and/or fourth- degree perineal lacerations, the incidence of episiotomy, and the relief of the short-term perineal pain postpartum (within two days). There was a potential favorable effect on improving the integrity of the perineum. However, the results did not show a statistically significant supportive effect on reducing first-degree perineal lacerations and the rate of perineal lacerations requiring sutures. In summary, perineal warm compresses effectively reduced the second-, third-/or fourth-degree perineal trauma and decreased the short-term perineal pain after birth.

RESUMO

Impaired basic academic skills (e.g., word recognition) are common in children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The underlying neuropsychological and neural correlates of impaired Chinese reading skills in children with ADHD have not been substantially explored. Three hundred and two children with ADHD (all medication-naïve) and 105 healthy controls underwent the Chinese language skill assessment, and 175 also underwent fMRI scans (84 ADHD and 91 controls). Between-group and mediation analyses were applied to explore the interrelationships of the diagnosis of ADHD, cognitive dysfunction, and impaired reading skills. Five ADHD-related brain functional networks, including the default mode network (DMN) and the dorsal attention network (DAN), were built using predefined regions of interest. Voxel-based group-wise comparisons were performed. The ADHD group performed worse than the control group in word-level reading ability tests, with lower scores in Chinese character recognition (CR) and word chains (WS) (all P < 0.05). With full-scale IQ and sustained attention in the mediation model, the direct effect of ADHD status on the CR score became insignificant (P = 0.066). The underlying neural correlates for the orthographic knowledge (OT) and CR differed between the ADHD and the control group. The ADHD group tended to recruit more DMN regions to maintain their reading performance, while the control group seemed to utilize more DAN regions. Children with ADHD generally presented impaired word-level reading skills, which might be caused by impaired sustained attention and lower IQ. According to the brain functional results, we infer that ADHD children might utilize a different strategy to maintain their orthographic knowledge and character recognition performance.

RESUMO

Recent advances in open neuroimaging data are enhancing our comprehension of neuropsychiatric disorders. By pooling images from various cohorts, statistical power has increased, enabling the detection of subtle abnormalities and robust associations, and fostering new research methods. Global collaborations in imaging have furthered our knowledge of the neurobiological foundations of brain disorders and aided in imaging-based prediction for more targeted treatment. Large-scale magnetic resonance imaging initiatives are driving innovation in analytics and supporting generalizable psychiatric studies. We also emphasize the significant role of big data in understanding neural mechanisms and in the early identification and precise treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders. However, challenges such as data harmonization across different sites, privacy protection, and effective data sharing must be addressed. With proper governance and open science practices, we conclude with a projection of how large-scale imaging resources and collaborations could revolutionize diagnosis, treatment selection, and outcome prediction, contributing to optimal brain health.

RESUMO

Parietal alpha activity shows a specific pattern of phasic changes during working memory. It decreases during the encoding and recall phases but increases during the maintenance phase. This study tested whether online rTMS delivered to the parietal cortex during the maintenance phase of a working memory task would increase alpha activity and hence improve working memory. Then, 46 healthy volunteers were randomly assigned to two groups to receive 3-day parietal 10 Hz online rTMS (either real or sham, 3600 pulses in total) that were time-locked to the maintenance phase of a spatial span task (180 trials in total). Behavioral performance on another spatial span task and EEG signals during a change detection task were recorded on the day before the first rTMS (pretest) and the day after the last rTMS (posttest). We found that rTMS improved performance on both online and offline spatial span tasks. For the offline change detection task, rTMS enhanced alpha activity within the maintenance phase and improved interference control of working memory at both behavioral (K score) and neural (contralateral delay activity) levels. These results suggested that rTMS with alpha frequency time-locked to the maintenance phase is a promising way to boost working memory.

RESUMO

Bisabolene is a compound commonly found in essential oils of various plants. It has a broad application in sectors such as chemical, pharmaceutical, and health-care products. This study focuses on modifying the glycerol metabolism pathway to obtain a high bisabolene-producing strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. To achieve this, the glycerol transporter gene PtFPS2 from Pachysolen tannophilus and the glycerol dehydrogenase gene Opgdh from Ogataea parapolymorpha were overexpressed in engineered yeast YS036, which was equipped with a GAL promoters-enhanced mevalonic acid pathway. Additionally, the glucose-inhibiting transcription factor MIG1 was knocked out to reduce glucose inhibition. The results showed that the GAL promoter transcription levels of the recombinant yeast strains increased, and the co-utilization of sucrose and glycerol was further improved in MIG1-knockout strain. Moreover, the maximum yield of bisabolene in shaking flask fermentation increased to 866.7 mg/L, an 82.2% increase compared to that of the original strain. By modifying the metabolic pathway of carbon sources, the yield of bisabolene was considerably improved. This study offers an effective strategy for enhancing the yield of terpene compounds in engineered yeast.

RESUMO

Finite natural resources, rising human population, and climate change pose challenges to traditional crop production. Hydroponically grown fodder (i.e., sprouted grains) can be an alternative feed source for dairy cows; however, only sprouted barley has been investigated in low-producing cows. We aimed to evaluate the effect of replacing conventional concentrates with sprouted barley or wheat, grown using hydroponics, on milk production, nutrient digestibility, and milk fatty acid profile in high-producing cows. Twenty-four multiparous Holstein cows (3.25 ± 1.33 lactations; 102 ± 23 DIM; 49 ± 4 kg/d of milk) were used in a replicated 3 × 3 Latin square design with 21-d experimental periods. Following a 2-wk covariate period, cows were fed 1 of 3 experimental diets: a TMR (1) without sprouted grains (control), or with (2) 10% sprouted barley, or (3) 10% sprouted wheat on a DM basis. Experimental diets were formulated to be isoenergetic and isonitrogenous with sprouted grains that replaced ground corn, soybean meal, canola meal, and dextrose. Sprouted grains were grown using a semi-automatic hydroponic system and harvested after 6 d of growth. Data and sample collection occurred during the last 3 d of the covariate and experimental periods. Wide ranges were observed for the DM percent of sprouted grains (12.1%-22.9% and 13.3%-25.7% for barley and wheat, respectively) and the ratio of sprouted fodder to seed (0.67-1.07 for both barley and wheat). Feeding sprouted grains did not modify the yield of milk or ECM; however, DMI were lower for barley, relative to control. Feed efficiencies were greater for barley than for control (1.49 ± 0.03 vs. 1.43 ± 0.03 for milk yield/DMI; 1.85 ± 0.03 vs. 1.73 ± 0.04 for ECM/DMI). Yields and concentrations of milk components (i.e., fat, true protein, and lactose) were not affected by treatment. Milk urea N concentrations were greater for wheat, relative to control or barley. Body weight (752 ± 3 vs. 742 ± 3 kg) and BW gains (6.53 ± 2.99 vs. -9.33 ± 2.91 kg/21 d) were higher for wheat than for control. Apparent total-tract digestibility of organic matter was greater for wheat relative to barley. Digestibilities of NDF and starch were higher for wheat and control, relative to barley, and CP digestibility was greater for wheat, relative to barley and control. Rumination and physical activity were not affected by treatment. In summary, replacing traditional concentrates with sprouted grains grown using hydroponics improved milk production efficiency (barley sprouts) or enhanced body weight gain (wheat sprouts). A life-cycle assessment needs to be conducted to determine the net effect of this feeding strategy for the dairy industry.

RESUMO

Representation learning on temporal interaction graphs (TIG) aims to model complex networks with the dynamic evolution of interactions on a wide range of web and social graph applications. However, most existing works on TIG either (a) rely on discretely updated node embeddings merely when an interaction occurs that fail to capture the continuous evolution of embedding trajectories of nodes, or (b) overlook the rich temporal patterns hidden in the ever-changing graph data that presumably lead to sub-optimal models. In this paper, we propose a two-module framework named ConTIG, a novel representation learning method on TIG that captures the continuous dynamic evolution of node embedding trajectories. With two essential modules, our model exploits three-fold factors in dynamic networks including latest interaction, neighbor features, and inherent characteristics. In the first update module, we employ a continuous inference block to learn the nodes' state trajectories from time-adjacent interaction patterns using ordinary differential equations. In the second transform module, we introduce a self-attention mechanism to predict future node embeddings by aggregating historical temporal interaction information. Experiment results demonstrate the superiority of ConTIG on temporal link prediction, temporal node recommendation, and dynamic node classification tasks of four datasets compared with a range of state-of-the-art baselines, especially for long-interval interaction prediction.

RESUMO

The rapid development of nuclear energy posed a great threat to the environment and human health. Herein, two hydroxyl-functionalized hyper-crosslinked polymers (PIHCP-1 and PIHCP-2) containing different electron active sites have been synthesized via Friedel-Crafts alkylation reaction of the polyimides. The resulting polymers showed a micro/mesoporous morphology and good thermal and chemical stability. Rely on the high porosity and multi-active sites, the PIHCPs show an ultrahigh iodine uptake capacity reached 6.73 g g-1 and the iodine removal efficiency from aqueous solution also reaches 99.7%. Kinetic analysis demonstrates that the iodine adsorption on PIHCPs was happened on the heterogeneous surfaces in the form of multilayer chemisorption. Electrostatic potential (ESP) calculation proves the great contribution of hydroxyl groups on the iodine capture performance. In addition, the iodine capture efficiency of both adsorbents can be maintained over 91% after four cyclic experiments which ensures their good recyclability for further practical applications.

RESUMO

Demonstrated here is an asymmetric nucleophilic addition via primary activation of para-quinone methides (p-QMs) based on a chiral phosphoric acid catalytic system. In sharp contrast to previous CPA-based bifunctional activation processes that all required the nucleophiles to have an effective hydrogen bond donor unit (e.g., OH, NH), here no such unit is required in the nucleophile. N-protected indole nucleophiles were successfully utilized for the synthesis of chiral tetraarylmethanes with high efficiency and enantioselectivity under mild conditions. Therefore, this protocol significantly expanded the scope of asymmetric transformations of p-QMs.
