Background: Endogenous sulfur dioxide (SO2) plays a crucial role in protecting heart from myocardial fibrosis by inhibiting the excessive growth of cardiac fibroblasts. This study aimed to investigate potential mechanisms by which SO2 suppressed myocardial fibrosis. Methods and results: Mouse model of angiotensin II (Ang II)-induced cardiac fibrosis and cell model of Ang II-stimulated cardiac fibroblast proliferation were employed. Our findings discovered that SO2 mitigated the aberrant phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2) induced by Ang II, leading to a reduction of fibroblast proliferation. Mechanistically, for the first time, we found that SO2 sulfenylated ERK1/2, and inhibited ERK1/2 phosphorylation and cardiac fibroblast proliferation, while a sulfhydryl reducing agent dithiothreitol (DTT) reversed the above effects of SO2. Furthermore, mutant ERK1C183S (cysteine 183 to serine) abolished the sulfenylation of ERK by SO2, thereby preventing the inhibitory effects of SO2 on ERK1 phosphorylation and cardiac fibroblast proliferation. Conclusion: Our study suggested that SO2 inhibited cardiac fibroblast proliferation by sulfenylating ERK1/2 and subsequently suppressing ERK1/2 phosphorylation. These new findings might enhance the understanding of the mechanisms underlying myocardial fibrosis and emphasize the potential of SO2 as a novel therapeutic target for myocardial fibrosis.

Gallbladder cancer (GBC) is characterized by a high degree of malignancy and a poor prognosis. This study revealed that circEZH2 was frequently upregulated in GBC tissues and correlated with advanced tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stage in GBC patients. In vitro and in vivo experiments confirmed that circEZH2 promoted the proliferation and inhibited the ferroptosis of GBC. Besides, this study discovered that circEZH2 regulated lipid metabolism reprogramming in GBC cells. Mechanistically, circEZH2 promotes SCD1 expression by sponging miR-556-5p in GBC cells. In addition, IGF2BP2 enhances the stability of circEZH2 in an m6A-dependent manner, while circEZH2 suppresses the ubiquitination and degradation of IGF2BP2 by binding to IGF2BP2. Taken together, our findings indicated that circEZH2, upregulated via a positive feedback loop between circEZH2 and IGF2BP2, promotes GBC progression and lipid metabolism reprogramming through the miR-556-5p/SCD1 axis in GBC. circEZH2 may serve as a potential therapeutic target for GBC.

Microbial communities play an important role in water quality regulation and biogeochemical cycles in lakes, and their community structure and function are affected by environmental factors. Therein, antibiotics affect the abundance, diversity, composition, and function of microbial communities. In this study, Baiyangdian Lake was selected as the study area. Sediment samples of 16 sites were collected in August 2018 and April 2019, respectively. Ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS) was used to determine the content of typical antibiotics-quinolones (QNs) in sediment. Through high-throughput sequencing technology, the structure and function of microbial communities was analyzed in the sediments to explore the spatiotemporal variation. Thereinto, redundancy analysis (RDA) was used to identify the key influencing factors of spatiotemporal variation of microbial communities. The results showed that: ① From August to April, the average ω(QNs) showed an increasing trend, and its mean value changed from 3.91 ng·g-1 to 6.34 ng·g-1, with significant seasonal differences in oxolinic acid (OXO) and total QNs content (P < 0.05). ② In terms of temporal variation, the dominant bacteria were Proteobacteria and Chloroflexi. The relative abundance of Proteobacteria showed a decreasing trend, whereas Chloroflexi showed an increasing trend; at the genus level, the dominant bacteria genera in August were norank_ f__Anaerolineaceae and Thiobacilus, and the dominant bacteria genera in April were Acinetobacter and norank_ f_Anaerolineaceae, and the dominant bacteria genera had significant seasonal differences (P < 0.05). ③ In terms of temporal variation, the index of Simpson, Chao, Ace, and OTU number all showed an increasing trend, and the seasonal differences were significant (P < 0.05). ④ In terms of spatial variation, there were no significant spatial differences among functional genes of COG. In terms of temporal variation, there were significant seasonal differences in functional genes of energy production and conversion, carbohydrate transport and metabolism, transcription, cell wall/membrane/envelope biogenesis, and signal transduction mechanisms (P < 0.01 and P < 0.05). ⑤ Microbial community structure and functional genes were significantly correlated with QNs (P < 0.01 and P < 0.05), and QNs were the main influencing factors. Therefore, QNs were the main factor affecting the changes in microbial community structure and functional genes in sediments of Baiyangdian Lake. Thus, comprehensive control of antibiotic pollution in sediments should be further strengthened.

A low-cost, handheld centrifugal microfluidic system for multiplexed visual detection based on recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) was developed. A concise centrifugal microfluidic chip featuring four reaction units was developed to run multiplexed RPA amplification in parallel. Additionally, a significantly shrunk-size and cost-effective handheld companion device was developed, incorporating heating, optical, rotation, and sensing modules, to perform multiplexed amplification and visual detection. After one-time sample loading, the metered sample was equally distributed into four separate reactors with high-speed centrifugation. Non-contact heating was adopted for isothermal amplification. A tiny DC motor on top of the chip was used to drive steel beads inside reactors for active mixing. Another small DC motor, which was controlled by an elaborate locking strategy based on magnetic sensing, was adopted for centrifugation and positioning. Visual fluorescence detection was optimized from different sides, including material, surface properties, excitation light, and optical filters. With fluorescence intensity-based visual detection, the detection results could be directly observed through the eyes or with a smartphone. As a proof of concept, the handheld device could detect multiple targets, e.g., different genes of African swine fever virus (ASFV) with the comparable LOD (limit of detection) of 75 copies/test compared to the tube-based RPA.

An increasing number of studies have reported the close relation of the hemoglobin glycation index (HGI) with metabolism, inflammation, and disease prognosis. However, the prognostic relationship between the HGI and patients with sepsis remains unclear. Thus, this study aimed to analyze the association between the HGI and all-cause mortality in patients with sepsis using data from the MIMIC-IV database. In this study, 2605 patients with sepsis were retrospectively analyzed. The linear regression equation was established by incorporating glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and fasting plasma glucose levels. Subsequently, the HGI was calculated based on the difference between the predicted and observed HbA1c levels. Furthermore, the HGI was divided into the following three groups using X-tile software: Q1 (HGI ≤ - 0.50%), Q2 (- 0.49% ≤ HGI ≤ 1.18%), and Q3 (HGI ≥ 1.19%). Kaplan-Meier survival curves were further plotted to analyze the differences in 28-day and 365-day mortality among patients with sepsis patients in these HGI groups. Multivariate corrected Cox proportional risk model and restricted cubic spline (RCS) were used. Lastly, mediation analysis was performed to assess the factors through which HGI affects sepsis prognosis. This study included 2605 patients with sepsis, and the 28-day and 365-day mortality rates were 19.7% and 38.9%, respectively. The Q3 group had the highest mortality risk at 28 days (HR = 2.55, 95% CI: 1.89-3.44, p < 0.001) and 365 days (HR = 1.59, 95% CI: 1.29-1.97, p < 0.001). In the fully adjusted multivariate Cox proportional hazards model, patients in the Q3 group still displayed the highest mortality rates at 28 days (HR = 2.02, 95% CI: 1.45-2.80, p < 0.001) and 365 days (HR = 1.28, 95% CI: 1.08-1.56, p < 0.001). The RCS analysis revealed that HGI was positively associated with adverse clinical outcomes. Finally, the mediation effect analysis demonstrated that the HGI might influence patient survival prognosis via multiple indicators related to the SOFA and SAPS II scores. There was a significant association between HGI and all-cause mortality in patients with sepsis, and patients with higher HGI values had a higher risk of death. Therefore, HGI can be used as a potential indicator to assess the prognostic risk of death in patients with sepsis.

Pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) have raised increasing concern worldwide due to their continuous release and potential hazards to the ecosystem and human health. This study optimized the entropy weight model (EW-WRSR) that combines entropy weight with multi-criteria decision analysis to investigate pollution patterns of PPCPs in the coasts and estuaries. The results revealed that occurrences of PPCPs from the 1940s to the present were consistent with using PPCPs, different types of human activities, and local urban development. This helped better understand the history of PPCP contamination and evaluate the uncertainty of EW-WRSR. The model predicted hotspots of PPCPs that were consistent with the actual situation, indicating that PPCPs mainly enter the nearshore ecosystem by the form of sewage discharge and residual aquaculture. This study can provide method that identifying highly contaminated regions on a global scale.

α-Terpineol, an alcoholic monoterpene with lilac-like aroma, possesses diverse biological activities and has found applications in the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and agricultural industries. Our previous studies indicated that gene PdTP1 was highly expressed in Penicillium digitatum DSM 62840 during the biotransformation of limonene to α-terpineol, while its actual biological functions are not fully understood. Here, PdTP1 was functionally characterized with bioinformatics analysis, subcellular localization, transcriptional activation activity, overexpression, and RNA interference (RNAi) silencing and RNA-seq analysis. Results showed that PdTP1 protein contained a GAL4-like Zn2Cys6 DNA-binding domain and a fungal_trans domain, was located in the nucleus and cell membrane and presented transcriptional activation effect, suggesting that PdTP1 encoded a Zn2Cys6 type transcription factor. Overexpression of PdTP1 in P. digitatum promoted limonene biotransformation and increased α-terpineol production, and opposite results were observed after the silencing of PdTP1. Moreover, transcription factor PdTP1 was found to affect the growth of P. digitatum and participate in ionic stress and oxidative stress responses. RNA-seq data revealed that altering the PdTP1 expression influenced the expression of some genes related to terpene metabolism or biosynthesis, fungal growth, and stress responses. In summary, PdTP1, which encoded a Zn2Cys6 transcription factor, played important roles in improving the production of α-terpineol from limonene and regulating fungal growth and environmental stress responses.

As an oleanolic acid derivative, CDDO-Me lacks selectivity for tumors. Based on the high reactive oxygen species (ROS) level in cancer cells, compound 4 was selected from 17 new CDDO arylboronate ester derivatives. A preliminary study revealed that 4 displayed the highest selectivity for cancer cells. Furthermore, 4 could be transformed to 4H by ROS to increase its covalent binding ability and antiproliferation effect (IC50 of 2.11 vs 0.37 µM) in BGC-823 cells. Interestingly, 4 increased ROS levels to induce apoptosis in BGC-823 cells. Moreover, the LD50 of 4 (91.2 mg/kg) was much greater than that of CDDO-Me (61.7 mg/kg) in ICR mice. A pharmacokinetic study indicated that 4 could be transformed to 4H in vivo. In addition, 4 exhibited a greater tumor inhibition rate (86.2%) than CDDO-Me (51.7%). Overall, the design of 4 provided an effective modification strategy for CDDO to increase the selectivity for cancer cells.

BACKGROUND: Protein kinases are a type of transferase enzyme that catalyze the phosphorylation of protein substrates, including receptor proteins. Testis-specific serine/threonine kinases (TSSKs) are a highly conserved group of protein kinases found in various organisms. They play an essential role in male reproduction by influencing sperm development and function. RESULTS: In this study, we report on the characterization of BmTSSK3, a TSSK from the silkworm, Bombyx mori. We found that BmTSSK3 is specifically expressed in the testis and localized to the sperm flagella, particularly in the sperm tail cyst. Furthermore, we developed BmTSSK3 inhibitors through molecular docking and binding assays. Small molecules 5-(4-Fluorophenyl)-2-ureidothiophene-3-carboxamide (TPCA-1) and Imidurea were identified to bind to BmTSSK3. Using site-specific mutation technology, we identified amino acid residues R134 and S184 as crucial binding sites for small molecules. RNA interference assay and Western blot analysis showed that knockdown of BmTSSK3 significantly decreased histone 3 phosphorylation. To confirm the inhibitory effect of these small molecules, we treated silkworm testes with TPCA-1 and observed a strong inhibitory effect. CONCLUSION: TPCA-1 is an inhibitor of BmTSSK3, which raises its potential as a future candidate for male sterility of the silkworm. Thus, this study may offer a novel strategy for sterile silkworms as well as insects. © 2024 Society of Chemical Industry.

This article analyzes and validates an approach of integration of adaptive dynamic programming (ADP) and adaptive fault-tolerant control (FTC) technique to address the consensus control problem for semi-Markovian jump multiagent systems having actuator bias faults. A semi-Markovian process, a more versatile stochastic process, is employed to characterize the parameter variations that arise from the intricacies of the environment. The reliance on accurate knowledge of system dynamics is overcome through the utilization of an actor-critic neural network structure within the ADP algorithm. A data-driven FTC scheme is introduced, which enables online adjustment and automatic compensation of actuator bias faults. It has been demonstrated that the signals generated by the controlled system exhibit uniform boundedness. Additionally, the followers' states can achieve and maintain consensus with that of the leader. Ultimately, the simulation results are given to demonstrate the efficacy of the designed theoretical findings.

Analyzing the genetic diversity and selection characteristics of sheep (Ovis aries) holds significant value in understanding their environmental adaptability, enhancing breeding efficiency, and achieving effective conservation and rational utilization of genetic resources. In this study, we utilized Illumina Ovine SNP 50 K BeadChip data from four indigenous sheep breeds from the southern margin of the Taklamakan Desert (Duolang sheep: n = 36, Hetian sheep: n = 74, Kunlun sheep: n = 27, Qira black sheep: n = 178) and three foreign meat sheep breeds (Poll Dorset sheep: n = 105, Suffolk sheep: n = 153, Texel sheep: n = 150) to investigate the population structure, genetic diversity, and genomic signals of positive selection within the indigenous sheep. According to the Principal component analysis (PCA), the Neighbor-Joining tree (NJ tree), and Admixture, we revealed distinct clustering patterns of these seven sheep breeds based on their geographical distribution. Then used Cross Population Extended Haplotype Homozygosity (XP-EHH), Fixation Index (FST), and Integrated Haplotype Score (iHS), we identified a collective set of 32 overlapping genes under positive selection across four indigenous sheep breeds. These genes are associated with wool follicle development and wool traits, desert environmental adaptability, disease resistance, reproduction, and high-altitude adaptability. This study reveals the population structure and genomic selection characteristics in the extreme desert environments of native sheep breeds from the southern edge of the Taklimakan Desert, providing new insights into the conservation and sustainable use of indigenous sheep genetic resources in extreme environments. Additionally, these findings offer valuable genetic resources for sheep and other mammals to adapt to global climate change.

Sustainable development has become a strategic consensus in response to the global environmental problems. Green credit is a major policy innovation that promotes the transformation of economic development mode and industrial green transformation (IGT). Using provincial panel data from 2005 to 2020, we investigate the effect of green credit on IGT using a systematic GMM model, a dynamic threshold model, as well as the possible nonlinear relationship. Benchmark regression results show that green credit can encourage industrial green transformation. In addition, there is a single green credit threshold with a value of 0.2612. The trend is "negative to positive". According to the moderating effect results, environmental regulation moderates in a negative manner. As environmental regulations become more stringent, the contribution of green credit to IGT will diminish. The intermediary mechanism test demonstrates that green technology innovation and marketization level play a partial intermediary role. Heterogeneity testing confirms that the function of green credit in promoting industrial green transformation is more significant in regions with a higher level of green finance development and a lower degree of government intervention. Therefore, the government should encourage financial institutions to provide green credit products and services to meet the financing needs of different green projects, thereby facilitating the industrial green transformation.

INTRODUCTION: Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) leads to severe inflammation and lung injury. Our previous study showed that Ac2-26 (an active n-terminal peptide of Annexin A1) can reduce acute lung injury. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of Ac2-26 on lung injury in CPB rats. METHODS: Forty rats were randomly divided into the sham, CPB, Ac, Ac/serine/threonine kinase 1 (AKT1), and Ac/ glycogen synthase kinase (GSK)-3ß groups. The rats in the sham group only received anesthesia, intubation, and cannulation. The rats in the other 4 groups received the standard CPB procedure. The rats in the CPB, Ac, Ac/AKT1, and Ac/GSK3ß groups were immediately injected with saline, Ac2-26 (1 mg/kg), Ac2-26 combined with short hairpin RNA (AKT1), or Ac2-26 combined with a GSK3ß inhibitor after CPB. At 12 h after the end of CPB, the PaO2/ fraction of inspired oxygen ratio, wet/dry weight ratio and protein content in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) were recorded. The numbers of macrophages and neutrophils in the BALF and blood were determined. Cytokine levels in the blood and BALF were investigated. Lung tissue histology and apoptosis were estimated. The expression of nuclear factor kappa- B, AKT1, GSK3ß, endothelial nitric oxide synthase and apoptosis-related proteins was analyzed. The survival of all the rats was recorded. RESULTS: Compared with the rats in the sham group, all the parameters examined worsened in the rats that received CPB. Compared with those in the CPB group, Ac2-26 significantly improved pulmonary capillary permeability, reduced cytokine levels, and decreased histological scores and apoptosis. The protective effect of Ac2-26 on lung injury was significantly reversed by AKT1 short hairpin RNA or a GSK3ß inhibitor. CONCLUSIONS: Ac2-26 significantly reduced lung injury and inflammation after CPB. The protective effect of Ac2-26 mainly depended on the AKT1/GSK3ß/endothelial nitric oxide synthase pathway.

Ceftriaxone-resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae FC428-like strains have disseminated across the Asia-Pacific region, with a continuous rise in prevalence during 2015-2022. To mitigate the effect of these strains, we advocate for enhanced molecular diagnostics, expanded surveillance networks, and a regionally coordinated effort to combat the global spread of FC428-like strains.

Accumulating animal studies have demonstrated associations between ambient air pollution (AP) and metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), but relevant epidemiological evidence is limited. We evaluated the association of long-term exposure to AP with the risk of incident MAFLD in Northwest China. The average AP concentration between baseline and follow-up was used to assess individual exposure levels. Cox proportional hazard models and restricted cubic spline functions (RCS) were used to estimate the association of PM2.5 and its constituents with the risk of MAFLD and the dose-response relationship. Quantile g-computation was used to assess the joint effects of mixed exposure to air pollutants on MAFLD and the weights of the various pollutants. We observed 1516 cases of new-onset MAFLD, with an incidence of 10.89%. Increased exposure to pollutants was significantly associated with increased odds of MAFLD, with hazard ratios (HRs) of 2.93 (95% CI: 1.22, 7.00), 2.86 (1.44, 5.66), 7.55 (3.39, 16.84), 4.83 (1.89, 12.38), 3.35 (1.35, 8.34), 1.89 (1.02, 1.62) for each interquartile range increase in PM2.5, SO42-, NO3-, NH4+, OM, and BC, respectively. Stratified analyses suggested that females, frequent exercisers and never-drinkers were more susceptible to MAFLD associated with ambient PM2.5 and its constituents. Mixed exposure to SO42-, NO3-, NH4+, OM and BC was associated with an increased risk of MAFLD, and the weight of BC had the strongest effect on MAFLD. Exposure to ambient PM2.5 and its constituents increased the risk of MAFLD.

Aim: The main objective of this study was to investigate the antitumor effect of a mouse anti-human glypican-1 (GPC1) monoclonal antibody (mAb) on non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) and associated molecular mechanisms. Methods: The anti-proliferative and anti-migratory activities of anti-GPC1 mAb were examined in A549 and H460 NSCLC cells and LL97A lung fibroblasts. The inhibitory effect of anti-GPC1 mAb on tumor growth was evaluated in an orthotopic lung tumor model. Results: The in vitro study showed that anti-GPC1 mAb profoundly inhibited the anchorage-independent growth of A549 and H460 NSCLC cells and exhibited relatively high cytotoxic activities towards LL97A lung fibroblasts, A549/LL97A and H460/LL97A coculture spheroids. Moreover, anti-GPC1 mAb significantly decreased the expression of phospho-Src (p-Src; Tyr416), p-Akt (Ser473) and ß-catenin in the co-cultured LL97A lung fibroblasts, and the expression of phospho-mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase (p-MEK; Ser217/221) and phospho-90 kDa ribosomal s6 kinase (p-p90RSK; Ser380) in co-cultured A549 cells. When anti-GPC1 mAb was administered to tumor-bearing mice, the inhibitory effect of anti-GPC1 mAb on the orthotopic lung tumor growth was not statistically significant. Nonetheless, results of Western blot analysis showed significant decrease in the phosphorylation of fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1) at Tyr766, Src at Tyr416, extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) at Thr202/Tyr204, 90 kDa ribosomal S6 kinase (RSK) at Ser380, glycogen synthase kinases 3α (GSK3α) at Ser21 and GSK3ß at Ser9 in tumor tissues. These data implicate that anti-GPC1 mAb treatment impairs the interaction between tumor cells and tumor associated fibroblasts by attenuating the paracrine FGFR signal transduction. Conclusions: The relatively potent cytotoxicity of anti-GPC1 mAb in lung fibroblasts and its potential inhibitory effect on the paracrine FGFR signal transduction warrant further studies on the combined use of this mAb with targeted therapeutics to improve therapeutic outcomes in lung cancer.

Recurrence risks of cancer patient can change during treatment as a result of treatment-related tumor evolution. However, biomarkers that can monitor these changes are lacking. Here, we investigated whether tracking circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) dynamics through liquid biopsy can inform real-time recurrence risk. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) provides an ideal model where cell-free Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA (cfEBV DNA), a ctDNA, can be sensitively detected. We conducted the EP-SEASON study (NCT03855020) and prospectively recruited 1,000 NPC patients undergoing per-protocol cfEBV DNA assessments at 11 time points and receiving sequential chemo-radiotherapy. Longitudinal cfEBV DNA displayed distinct patterns during neoadjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Despite the prognostic significance of cfEBV DNA at each time point, real-time recurrence risks changed in sync with cfEBV DNA dynamics. Furthermore, we identified phenotypes of whole-course ctDNA changing dynamics associated with different survival outcomes. In conclusion, tracking longitudinal on-treatment ctDNA can forecast real-time recurrence risk, facilitating risk-adapted, individualized patient management.

Drug-Induced Liver Injury (DILI) and herb Induced Liver Injury (HILI) continues to pose a substantial challenge in both clinical practice and drug development, representing a grave threat to patient well-being. This comprehensive review introduces a novel perspective on DILI and HILI by thoroughly exploring the intricate microenvironment of the liver. The dynamic interplay among hepatocytes, sinusoidal endothelial cells, Kupffer cells, hepatic stellate cells, cholangiocytes, and the intricate vascular network assumes a central role in drug metabolism and detoxification. Significantly, this microenvironment is emerging as a critical determinant of susceptibility to DILI and HILI. The review delves into the multifaceted interactions within the liver microenvironment, providing valuable insights into the complex mechanisms that underlie DILI and HILI. Furthermore, we discuss potential strategies for mitigating drug-induced liver injury by targeting these influential factors, emphasizing their clinical relevance. By highlighting recent advances and future prospects, our aim is to shed light on the promising avenue of leveraging the liver microenvironment for the prevention and mitigation of DILI and HILI. This deeper understanding is crucial for advancing clinical practices and ensuring patient safety in the realm of DILI and HILI.

Sepsis is a common complication of infections that significantly impacts the survival of critically patients. Currently, effective pharmacological treatment strategies are lacking. Auranofin, known as an inhibitor of Thioredoxin reductase (TrxR), exhibits anti-inflammatory activity, but its role in sepsis is not well understood. Here, we demonstrate the significant inhibitory effect of Auranofin on sepsis in a cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) mouse model. In vitro, Auranofin inhibits pyroptosis triggered by Caspase-11 activation. Further investigations reveal that inhibiting TrxR1 suppresses macrophage pyroptosis induced by E. coli, while TrxR2 does not exhibit this effect. TrxR1, functioning as a reductase, regulates the oxidative-reductive status of Thioredoxin-1 (Trx-1). Mechanistically, the modulation of Trx-1's reductive activity by TrxR1 may be involved in Caspase-11 activation-induced pyroptosis. Additionally, inhibiting TrxR1 maintains Trx-1 in its oxidized state. The oxidized form of Trx-1 interacts with Caveolin-1 (CAV1), regulating outer membrane vesicle (OMV) internalization. In summary, our study suggests that inhibiting TrxR1 suppresses OMV internalization by maintaining the oxidized form of Trx-1, thereby restricting Caspase-11 activation and alleviating sepsis.

In this manuscript, three components of lignocellulosic biomass were obtained by deconstructing bamboo with γ-valerolactone-H2O biphasic system, and the delignification rate of 80.92 % was achieved at 120 °C for 90 min. Lignin nanospheres with diameters ranging from 75 nm to 2 um could be customized by varying the self-assembly rate. Furthermore, the lignin nanospheres-poly(vinyl alcohol) film was prepared by cross-linking lignin nanospheres and poly(vinyl alcohol), which can obtain 90 % ultraviolet absorption capacity, while the light transmittance in non-ultraviolet band was almost unchanged. At the same time, due to the strong hydrogen formation between lignin nanospheres and poly(vinyl alcohol) bond network, the tensile properties of the composite film were also improved by 30 %. Besides, the high specific surface area of biomass-derived porous biochar (2056 m2/g) can be obtained after carbonization of solid residues at 850 °C for 2 h, which was almost 8 times the specific surface area of the direct biomass carbonization due to the removal of lignin and hemicellulose. biomass-derived porous biochar can be used as an adsorbent, with a CO2 capture capacity of 4.5 mmol g-1 at normal temperature (25 °C, 1 bar). The filtrate after the reaction contained a large amount of hemicellulose oligomers, which can be reacted with dichloromethane at 170 °C for 1 h to obtain the furfural yield of 74 %. In summary, the proposed biorefinery scheme achieves a full-component upgrade of lignocellulose and can be further applied in various downstream fields.
