RESUMO

By looking up the local chronicles of the China Digital Chronicles Database and the China Chronicles Database, it was found that there are 450 kinds of local chronicles in Henan, of which 45 contain Yaowang Temple.According to these 45 kinds of local Chronicles, it can be seen that a total of 35 Yaowang temples were built in 25 counties (cities) of Henan, mostly distributed in the west, north and south of Henan, especially in the west. Among them, eight Yaowang temples recorded the construction time, from the Ming Dynasty to the Republic of China, but most of them were built in the Qing Dynasty. There are records of the builders of the 8 Yaowang Temples, most of whom were local government officials. Qi Bo, Hua Tuo, Bian Que, Sun Simiao and Wei Cizang were recorded as Yaowang in three places, and Sun Simiao was enshrined in two of them. The architectural pattern of Yaowang Temple varies greatly from three courtyards to natural caves. Local chronicles contain all kinds of legends and stories about the Yaowang, which is a concrete embodiment of the belief in Yaowang. The belief in Yaowang not only carries people's thirst for health, but also prays for good weather.

RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the impact of combined use and timing of arterial-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) with intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) on the prognosis of patients with acute myocardial infarction complicated with cardiogenic shock (AMICS). Methods: This was a prospective cohort study, patients with acute myocardial infarction and cardiogenic shock who received VA-ECMO support from the Heart Center of Lanzhou University First Hospital from March 2019 to March 2022 in the registration database of the Chinese Society for Extracorporeal Life Support were enrolled. According to combination with IABP and time point, patients were divided into VA-ECMO alone group, VA-ECMO+IABP concurrent group and VA-ECMO+IABP non-concurrent group. Data from 3 groups of patients were collected, including the demographic characteristics, risk factors, ECG and echocardiographic examination results, critical illness characteristics, coronary intervention results, VA-ECMO related parameters and complications were compared among the three groups. The primary clinical endpoint was all-cause death, and the safety indicators of mechanical circulatory support included a decrease in hemoglobin greater than 50 g/L, gastrointestinal bleeding, bacteremia, lower extremity ischemia, lower extremity thrombosis, acute kidney injury, pulmonary edema and stroke. Kaplan-Meier survival curves were used to analyze the survival outcomes of patients within 30 days of follow-up. Using VA-ECMO+IABP concurrent group as reference, multivariate Cox regression model was used to evaluate the effect of the combination of VA-ECMO+IABP at different time points on the prognosis of AMICS patients within 30 days. Results: The study included 68 AMICS patients who were supported by VA-ECMO, average age was (59.8±10.8) years, there were 12 female patients (17.6%), 19 cases were in VA-ECMO alone group, 34 cases in VA-ECMO+IABP concurrent group and 15 cases in VA-ECMO+IABP non-concurrent group. The success rate of ECMO weaning in the VA-ECMO+IABP concurrent group was significantly higher than that in the VA-ECMO alone group and the VA-ECMO+IABP non-concurrent group (all P<0.05). Compared with the ECMO+IABP non-concurrent group, the other two groups had shorter ECMO support time, lower rates of acute kidney injury complications (all P<0.05), and lower rates of pulmonary edema complications in the ECMO alone group (P<0.05). In-hospital survival rate was significantly higher in the VA-ECMO+IABP concurrent group (28 patients (82.4%)) than in the VA-ECMO alone group (9 patients) and VA-ECMO+IABP non-concurrent group (7 patients) (all P<0.05). The survival rate up to 30 days of follow-up was also significantly higher surviving patients within were in the ECMO+IABP concurrent group (26 cases) than in VA-ECMO alone group (9 patients) and VA-ECMO+IABP non-concurrent group (4 patients) (all P<0.05). Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that compared with the concurrent use of VA-ECMO+IABP, the use of VA-ECMO alone and non-concurrent use of VA-ECMO+IABP were associated with increased 30-day mortality in AMICS patients (HR=2.801, P=0.036; HR=2.985, P=0.033, respectively). Conclusions: When VA-ECMO is indicated for AMICS patients, combined use with IABP at the same time can improve the ECMO weaning rate, in-hospital survival and survival at 30 days post discharge, and which does not increase additional complications.

RESUMO

A microwave electric field sensing has been set up based on a three-color electromagnetically induced absorption in rubidium vapor cell via cascading transitions. All transitions are irradiated by infrared lasers: a 780 nm laser servers as probe to monitor the optical transmittancy via transition 5S1/2→P3/2;, a 776 nm laser and a 1260 nm laser are used to couple the states 5P3/2 and 5D5/2 and states 5D5/2 and 44F7/2, respectively. We find that a frequency detuning ∼2π × ( - 40) MHz of the 776 nm dressing beam prefers to a better signal-to-noise ratio for the probe beam. The off-resonance greatly depresses the double resonance pumping effect. A demonstration measurement for the electric field of microwave 1.18988 GHz, corresponding to the coupling resonance between two adjacent Rydberg states 44F7/2 and 44F9/2, gives a sensitivity of 55.79(23)nVcm-1/Hz and a smallest discernible electric field of 78.9(33) nVcm-1 in time scale of 500 ms.

RESUMO

Medicinal plants are the primary sources of healthcare among the people of developing countries in villages and local towns. Documenting and reporting the traditional knowledge of medicinal plants may contribute to pharmaceutical research development. For this reason, we present our findings on ethnomedicinal plants from Lingchuan County, Shanxi, China, an unexplored area rich in medicinal plant resources. Information of ethnomedicinal plants were collected through questionnaire/semi-structured interviews from 180 informants, including traditional healers. Field surveys were conducted in 53 villages of Lingchuan County from 2017 to 2018. Informed consent was obtained from each participant before conducting the interview process. Quantitative analysis was performed for each recorded species, such as Relative Frequency Citation (RFC), Use Value (UV), and Factor of Informant Consensus (FIC). Diseases were categorized into twelve groups. A total 138 species of medicinal plants were recorded, belonging to 123 genera of 58 families. Asteraceae was the dominant plant family with 19 species, followed by Rosaceae and Fabaceae. Herbs were dominant among plant life-forms with 96 species, followed by shrubs and trees (15 species each). Roots were the most commonly used plant parts with 58 species, followed by whole plants and fruits (28 species each). Most plant species were reported non-toxic (84, 60%), followed by unknown toxicity (35, 25%), poisonous, and less toxic (19, 14%). Quantitative analysis revealed that Forsythia suspensa was with higher (0.33) RFC value, and Scutellaria baicalensis was recorded with a higher (0.91) UV. Treated diseases were categorized in 12 groups and evaluated by their FIC value, in which gynecological diseases have higher (0.93) FIC value followed by urinary system diseases. Most medicinal plants are used to clear away heat and relieve the surface. The present study revealed that local people of Lingchuan County confidently use ethnomedicinal plants for their healthcare needs. The higher indices value of a plant species resulted from quantitative analysis warrants further investigation, which may possess valuable phytochemical compounds that may result in new drugs for treating various human disorders.

RESUMO

Objective: To explore the clinical value of ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation in the treatment of retroperitoneal tumors. Methods: The clinical data of 13 patients with retroperitoneal tumors treated with ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2018 to January 2020 were analyzed retrospectively. The ablation effect was evaluated and the postoperative complications were observed. The changes of tumor volume before and after radiofrequency ablation were compared. Results: The symptoms of pain and dyspepsia were significantly improved after radiofrequency ablation, and the hospital stay was (9.2±2.9) days. The tumor was ablated completely in 10 cases, tumor residual in 1 case and tumor metastasis in 2 cases. One patient had postoperative duodenal perforation complicated with intra-abdominal infection, and no serious complications occurred in other patients. There were 20 lesions in 13 patients. The maximum diameter of 20 lesions before operation and 1, 3, 6 months after operation were (39.5±15.9) mm, (30.6±4.9)mm, (15.6±7.7) mm and (9.9±3.1) mm, respectively, the maximum diameters of 1, 3 and 6 months after operation were smaller than that before operation (P<0.05). Conclusion: Ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation is a real-time, accurate, safe and effective minimally invasive treatment with few complications, and has a high clinical value for retroperitoneal tumors.

RESUMO

Streptococcus thermophilus is a common yogurt starter that consumes lactose as its primary carbon source. The enzyme ß-galactosidase is essential for the lactose metabolism and the growth of this species. Streptococcus thermophilus appears to be a promising cell factory. Food-grade vectors have advantages in heterologous protein expression. This study aimed to determine whether the ß-galactosidase of S. thermophilus has the α-complementary characteristic and to develop a novel food-grade vector based on this phenomenon. The N-terminal 7 to 36 AA residues of the ß-galactosidase in S. thermophilus were deleted. The obtained mutant S. thermophilus Δα lost ß-galactosidase activity and growth ability in the lactose medium. Subsequently, plasmids expressing α-fragments with different lengths of 1 to 36 (Sα1), 1 to 53 (Sα2), and 1 to 88 (Sα3) AA were constructed and transformed into S. thermophilus Δα. Recombinant S. thermophilus Δα expressing Sα2 or Sα3 recovered the ability to grow in the lactose medium, and their ß-galactosidase activity accounted for 24.5% or 11.5% of the wild strain, respectively. These results indicated that the α-complementation system of ß-galactosidase existed in S. thermophilus. Based on the characteristic, a food-grade vector pSEα was constructed. Except for Sα2, vector pSEα expressed the α-donor derived from E. coli ß-galactosidase. This facilitated the construction of recombinant plasmids in E. coli DH5α and thus improved the transformation efficiency of S. thermophilus. Green fluorescent protein as a reporter protein could be highly expressed in S. thermophilus using this vector. As a result, pSEα is an efficient and safe vector for S. thermophilus with potential food applications.

RESUMO

Excitonic insulators are usually considered to form via the condensation of a soft charge mode of bound electron-hole pairs. This, however, presumes that the soft exciton is of spin-singlet character. Early theoretical considerations have also predicted a very distinct scenario, in which the condensation of magnetic excitons results in an antiferromagnetic excitonic insulator state. Here we report resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS) measurements of Sr3Ir2O7. By isolating the longitudinal component of the spectra, we identify a magnetic mode that is well-defined at the magnetic and structural Brillouin zone centers, but which merges with the electronic continuum in between these high symmetry points and which decays upon heating concurrent with a decrease in the material's resistivity. We show that a bilayer Hubbard model, in which electron-hole pairs are bound by exchange interactions, consistently explains all the electronic and magnetic properties of Sr3Ir2O7 indicating that this material is a realization of the long-predicted antiferromagnetic excitonic insulator phase.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is spreading worldwide. The onset of severe COVID-19 could lead to multiple organ damage and even death. It is worth paying attention to the warning index of the onset for severe COVID-19 so that patients can be identified and monitored carefully. PATIENTS AND METHODS: The report is a retrospective study that describes and analyzes the clinical features during the treatment of COVID-19. Four patients with COVID-19 were involved in this study, who were father-and-son pairs from two families. All patients were treated with the same combination of anti-microbial and anti-viral agents for 10-14 days, adjusting for the disease status. The primary outcome measure was SARS-CoV-2 detection using RT-qPCR with oropharyngeal swabs. Chest CT imaging served as a secondary outcome measure. RESULTS: One of the four patients progressed to severe disease, while the remaining patients recovered with the same treatment. A persistent decrease in the lymphocyte ratio and increase in the C-reactive protein (CRP) level were observed in the severe patient, along with other typical symptoms of COVID-19. CONCLUSIONS: The cases we described indicate that blood cell and CRP tests could be useful risk warnings of severe onset of COVID-19.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To systematically evaluate the anesthetic effect and safety of sevoflurane combined with propofol in removing tracheal foreign bodies in children. MATERIALS AND METHODS: PubMed, EMbase, The Cochrane Library, China Biomedicine Database, China National Knowledge Internet, WanFang Data, and VIP databases were searched. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of sevoflurane combined with propofol for anesthesia during tracheal foreign body extraction in children were collected. The retrieval time was from the establishment of the database to April 10, 2019. RevMan 5.3 software was used for meta-analysis after two researchers independently screened the literature, extracted data, and evaluated the risk bias included in the study. RESULTS: Seven RCTs involving 473 patients were included. Meta-analysis showed that the time of loss of consciousness significantly reduced (MD=-38.27, 95% CI (-41.77, -34.77), p < 0.00001) and the recovery time significantly reduced (MD=-12.29, 95% CI (-2.77, -1.80), p < 0.00001) in the sevoflurane combined with propofol group compared with the control group. In terms of safety, the heart rate was slower [MD=-11.00, 95% CI (-21.64, -0.36), p=0.04 < 0.05] and the incidence of cough and breath holding was lower [MD=0.38, 95% CI (0.19, 0.78), p=0.008] in the sevoflurane combined with propofol group than in the control group. However, no significant difference in respiratory rate and SPO 2 < 90% was found between the two groups (p > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Sevoflurane combined with propofol is worth popularizing because of its high anesthetic effect and safety in the removal of tracheal foreign bodies in children. However, given the limited quantity and quality of the included studies, the above conclusions need to be verified by high-quality studies.

RESUMO

Preeclampsia (PE) may induce gestational failure, threatening a significant number of pregnant women. Recently, microRNAs (miRNAs) have been reported to participate in PE progression, whereas the precise functions and potential mechanisms of miR-20b in placental trophoblast cells as well as in PE progression remain poorly understood. In the present study, real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) analysis was used to detect expressions of miR-20b and myeloid cell leukemin- 1(MCL-1) mRNA. Cell viability was investigated by cell counting kit-8(CCK-8) assays. Cell invasion and migration abilities were determined by Transwell assays. Western blot was performed to detect MCL-1 protein expressions. The interaction between miR-20b and MCL-1 was investigated by bioinformatics analysis and luciferase activity assay. The results of the study demonstrated that miR-20b was highly expressed in placental tissues of patients with PE. Moreover, miR-20b overexpression inhibited HTR8/ SVneo cell proliferation, invasion and migration. Furthermore, MCL-1 was targeted by miR-20b, and MCL-1 restoration could partially attenuate the effect of miR-20b on HTR8/SVneo cells. In conclusion, the results indicate that miR-20b may contribute to PE through inhibiting proliferation, invasion and migration of placental trophoblast cells by targeting MCL-1. Therefore, miR-20b may be used as a notable biomarker for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of PE. MiR-20b targeting MCL-1 deserves further investigation in order to explore their potential role in PE.

RESUMO

Yogurt making traditionally relies on the simultaneous utilization of 2 starters: Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus, but these 2 strains normally metabolize the glucose portion of lactose and release galactose into extracellular medium, resulting in high levels of residual galactose and unfermented lactose in yogurt, which leads to several industrial and health concerns. In this study, we found that Lactobacillus plantarum could effectively metabolize both lactose and galactose. Comparative genomic analysis demonstrated the constant presence of a chromosome-encoded Leloir pathway for galactose metabolism in Lb. plantarum species, and the gal operon was driven by a strong constitutive promoter in Lb. plantarum WCFS1, displaying great potential in low-sugar yogurt making. To test this hypothesis, Lb. plantarum WCFS1 was co-cultured with S. thermophilus or Lb. bulgaricus in lactose-based medium. Results showed that lactose was consumed completely and galactose was metabolized efficiently. For yogurt making, co-cultivation of Lb. plantarum WCFS1 with yogurt starter cultures produced a higher reduction of total sugar content compared with the traditional fermentation processes. In addition, the sensory analysis indicated that the yogurt fermented with yogurt starter cultures and Lb. plantarum WCFS1 was acceptable to consumers in appearance, texture, and flavor. Therefore, this study emphasized the potential to manufacture low-sugar yogurt by the co-cultivation of Lb. plantarum with yogurt starter cultures.
