Epilepsy is a severe central nervous system disorder characterized by an imbalance between neuronal excitation and inhibition, resulting in heightened neuronal excitability, particularly within the hippocampus. About one-third of individuals with epilepsy experience difficult-to-manage seizures, known as refractory epilepsy. Epilepsy is closely linked to inflammatory immune response, with elevated levels of inflammatory mediators observed in individuals with this condition. This inflammation of the brain can lead to seizures of various types and is further exacerbated by the release of inflammatory factors, which heighten the excitability of peripheral neurons and worsen the progression of epilepsy. Pyroptosis is an inflammatory programmed cell death which has been shown to be involved in the pathological process of epilepsy. Inflammatory factors released during pyroptosis increase neuronal excitability and promote abnormal discharge in epilepsy, increasing susceptibility to epilepsy. This article provides an overview of the current knowledge on cell pyroptosis and its potential mechanisms, including both canonical and noncanonical pathways. Additionally, we discuss the potential mechanisms of pyroptosis occurrence in epilepsy and the potential therapeutic drugs targeting pyroptosis as a treatment strategy. In summary, this review highlights the promising potential of pyroptosis as a target for developing innovative therapies for epilepsy.

This study aimed to characterize carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB) isolates from Jiangxi patients using whole-genome sequencing (WGS). We subjected 100 clinical CRAB strains isolated from the three local largest teaching hospitals to WGS and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. Molecular epidemiology was investigated using multilocus sequence typing, core genome multilocus typing, core genome single-nucleotide polymorphism phylogeny, and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis. The most prevalent acquired carbapenemase was blaOXA-23, predominant in all isolates (100%). Isolates belonging to the dominating international clone IC2 accounted for 92% of all isolates. International IC11 (ST164Pas/ST1418Ox) clone was found in an additional 8% (eight isolates), with seven isolates (87.5%) carrying an acquired additional blaNDM-1 carbapenemase. The oxa23-associated Tn2009, either alone or in a tandem repeat structure containing four copies of blaOXA-23, was discovered in 62% (57 isolates) of IC2. The oxa23-associated Tn2006 was identified in 38% (35 isolates) of IC2 and all IC11 isolates. A putative conjugative RP-T1 (formerly RepAci6) plasmid with blaOXA-23 in Tn2006 within AbaR4, designated pSRM1.1, was found in IC2 A. baumannii strain SRM1. The blaNDM-1 gene found in seven IC11 isolates was located on a novel Tn6924-like transposon, a first-time report in IC11. These findings underscore the significant importance of real-time surveillance to prevent the further spread of CRAB. IMPORTANCE: Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB) is notorious for causing difficult-to-treat infections. To elucidate the molecular and clinical epidemiology of CRAB in Jiangxi, clinical CRAB isolates were collected and underwent whole-genome sequencing and antibiotic susceptibility phenotyping. Key findings included the predominance of OXA-23-producing IC2 A. baumannii, marked by the emergence of OXA-23 and NDM-1-producing IC11 strains.

Rosa roxburghii (R. roxburghii) is a unique, edible, medicinal fruit rich in vitamin C found in Southwest China. Triadimefon (TDF) is a triazole fungicide that is widely used to control powdery mildew in R. roxburghii. To assess the safety of TDF in R. roxburghii, an LC-MS/MS method was developed for the simultaneous quantification of TDF and its major metabolite, triadimenol (TDN) in R. roxburghii. Both TDF and TDN showed high correlation coefficients (>0.999) for the solvent- and matrix-matched calibrations. The recovery rates of TDF and TDN in R. roxburghii ranged from 90.18% to 100.42%, with a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 1.25%-9.22%. The limit of quantification (LOQ) was 0.01 mg·kg-1. The half-life of TDF in R. roxburghii was between 2.74 and 3.07 days, with terminal residues ranging from < LOQ to 1.84 mg·kg-1. Recommended maximum residue limits (MRLs) and safe pre-harvest intervals (PHIs) for TDF in R. roxburghii were 0.5 mg·kg-1 and 21 days, respectively. This study provides essential data for TDF's safe and judicious use in R. roxburghii production.

Grain weight, grain number per panicle, and the number of panicles are the three factors that determine rice (Oryza sativa L.) yield. Of these, grain weight, which not only directly determines rice yield but also influences appearance and quality, is often considered the most important for rice production. Here, we describe OsNF-YC1, a member of the NF-Y transcription factor family that regulates rice grain size. OsNF-YC1 knockout plants (osnf-yc1), obtained using CRISPR-Cas9 technology, showed reduced grain weight due to reduced width and thickness, with no change in grain length, leading to a slenderer grain shape. Downregulation of OsNF-YC1 using RNA interference resulted in similar grain phenotypes as osnf-yc1. OsNF-YC1 affects grain formation by regulating both cell proliferation and cell expansion. OsNF-YC1 localizes in both the nucleus and cytoplasm, has transcriptional activation activity at both the N-terminus and C-terminus, and is highly expressed in young panicles. OsNF-YC1 interacts with OsMADS1 both in vivo and in vitro. Further analysis showed that the histone-like structural CBFD-NFYB-HMF domain of OsNF-YC1 conserved in the OsNF-YC transcription factor family can directly interact with the MADS-box domain of OsMADS1 to enhance its transcriptional activation activity. This interaction positively regulates the expression of OsMADS55, the direct downstream target of OsMADS1. Therefore, this paper reveals a potential grain size regulation pathway controlled by an OsNF-YC1-OsMADS1-OsMADS55 module in rice.

Borocarbonitride (BCN) catalysts, boasting multiple redox sites, have shown considerable potential in alkane oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) to olefin molecules. However, their catalytic efficiency still lags behind that of leading commercial catalysts, primarily due to the limited reactivity of oxygen functional groups. In this study, a groundbreaking hybrid catalyst is developed, featuring BCN nanotubes (BCNNTs) encapsulated with manganese (Mn) clusters, crafted through a meticulous supramolecular self-assembly and postcalcination strategy. This novel catalyst demonstrates a remarkable enhancement in activity, achieving 30% conversion and ≈100% selectivity toward styrene in ethylbenzene ODH reactions. Notably, its performance surpasses both pure BCNNTs and those hosting Mn nanoparticles. Structural and kinetic analyses unveil a robust interaction between BCNNTs and the Mn component, substantially boosting the catalytic activity of BCNNTs. Furthermore, density functional theory (DFT) calculations elucidate that BCNNTs encapsulated with Mn clusters not only stabilize key intermediates (─B─O─O─B─) but also enhance the nucleophilicity of active sites through electron transfer from the Mn cluster to the BCNNTs. This electron transfer mechanism effectively lowers the energy barrier for ─C─H cleavage, resulting in a 13% improvement in catalytic activity compared to pure BCNNTs.

For most patients with advanced thymic epithelial tumors (TETs), a complete resection is a strong indicator of a better prognosis. But sometimes, primary surgery is unsatisfactory, and preoperative therapy is needed to facilitate complete resection. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy is the most used form of preoperative therapy. But studies on neoadjuvant chemotherapy have included mainly patients with thymoma; its efficacy in patients with thymic carcinoma is less known. Neoadjuvant chemoradiation has also been explored in a few studies. Novel therapies such as immunotherapy and targeted therapy have shown efficacy in patients with recurrent/metastatic TETs as a second-line option; their role as preoperative therapy is still under investigation. In this review, we discuss the existing evidence on preoperative therapy and the insight it provides for current clinical practice and future studies.

BACKGROUND: Epilepsy is a chronic disabling disease poorly controlled by available antiseizure medications. Oridonin, a bioactive alkaloid with anti-inflammatory properties and neuroprotective effects, can inhibit the increased excitability of neurons caused by glutamate accumulation at the cellular level. However, whether oridonin affects neuronal excitability and whether it has antiepileptic potential has not been reported in animal models or clinical studies. METHOD: Pentylenetetrazol was injected into mice to create a model of chronic epilepsy. Seizure severity was assessed using the Racine scale, and the duration and latency of seizures were observed. Abnormal neuronal discharge was detected using electroencephalography, and neuronal excitability was assessed using calcium imaging. Damage to hippocampal neurons was evaluated using Hematoxylin-Eosin and Nissl staining. The expression of the NOD-like receptor thermal protein domain associated protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome and other pyroptosis-related proteins was determined using western blotting and immunofluorescence. A neuronal pyroptosis model was established using the supernatant of BV2 cells treated with lipopolysaccharide and adenosine triphosphate to stimulate hippocampal neurons. RESULTS: Oridonin (1 and 5 mg/kg) reduced neuronal damage, increased the latency of seizures, and shortened the duration of fully kindled seizures in chronic epilepsy model mice. Oridonin decreased abnormal discharge during epileptic episodes and suppressed increased neuronal excitability. In vitro experiments showed that oridonin alleviated pyroptosis in hippocampal HT22 neurons. CONCLUSION: Oridonin exerts neuroprotective effects by inhibiting pyroptosis through the NLRP3/caspase-1 pathway in chronic epilepsy model mice. It also reduces pyroptosis in hippocampal neurons in vitro, suggesting its potential as a therapy for epilepsy.

Background: Myasthenic crisis (MC) may occur after thymectomy in patients with myasthenia gravis (MG), but effective preventive interventions can reduce the occurrence of this complication. Previous research on MC focused on risk factors, emergency treatment, etc., which was relatively scattered and did not form a comprehensive management framework. This study sought to retrieve and summarize the relevant evidence on the prevention and management of postoperative MC to provide a theoretical reference for clinical medical staff. Methods: According to the evidence pyramid model, relevant articles were retrieved from UpToDate, British Medical Journal (BMJ) Best Practice, World Health Organization (WHO), Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN), Guidelines International Network (GIN), Australian Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Healthcare Database, Medlive, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Wanfang. The types of evidence included clinical guidelines, expert consensus articles, clinical decisions, systematic reviews, and randomized controlled trials (RCTs). The quality evaluations were conducted using the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation II (AGREE II) evaluation tool for guidelines, the Australian JBI Evidence-Based Healthcare Center evaluation tool for expert consensus articles, the Critical Appraisal for Summaries of Evidence (CASE) evaluation tool for clinical decisions, the Assessment of Multiple Systematic Reviews (AMSTAR) evaluation tool for systematic reviews, and the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool for RCTs. Results: A total of 12 articles were included in this study, including three clinical guidelines, three expert consensus articles, three clinical decisions, two systematic reviews, and one RCT. From these articles, we summarized 39 pieces of evidence on the prevention and management of postoperative MC. Conclusions: This study summarized the best evidence on the prevention and management of postoperative MC and provided to clinical staffs evidence-based clinical approaches to help reduce the incidence of this complication.

Class switch recombination (CSR) diversifies the effector functions of antibodies and involves complex regulation of transcription and DNA damage repair. Here, we show that the deubiquitinase USP7 promotes CSR to immunoglobulin A (IgA) and suppresses unscheduled IgG switching in mature B cells independent of its role in DNA damage repair, but through modulating switch region germline transcription. USP7 depletion impairs Sα transcription, leading to abnormal activation of Sγ germline transcription and increased interaction with the CSR center via loop extrusion for unscheduled IgG switching. Rescue of Sα transcription by transforming growth factor ß (TGF-ß) in USP7-deleted cells suppresses Sγ germline transcription and prevents loop extrusion toward IgG CSR. Mechanistically, USP7 protects transcription factor RUNX3 from ubiquitination-mediated degradation to promote Sα germline transcription. Our study provides evidence for active transcription serving as an anchor to impede loop extrusion and reveals a functional interplay between USP7 and TGF-ß signaling in promoting RUNX3 expression for efficient IgA CSR.

This study aimed to develop and validate a nomogram model that includes clinical and laboratory indicators to predict the risk of metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) in young Chinese individuals. This study retrospectively analyzed a cohort of young population who underwent health examination from November 2018 to December 2021 at The Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University in Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, China. We extracted the clinical and laboratory data of 43,040 subjects and randomized participants into the training and validation groups (7:3). Univariate logistic regression analysis, the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression, and multivariate logistic regression models identified significant variables independently associated with MAFLD. The predictive accuracy of the model was analyzed in the training and validation sets using area under the receiver operating characteristic (AUROC), calibration curves, and decision curve analysis. In this study, we identified nine predictors from 31 variables, including age, gender, body mass index, waist-to-hip ratio, alanine aminotransferase, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, uric acid, and smoking. The AUROC for the subjects in the training and validation groups was 0.874 and 0.875, respectively. The calibration curves show excellent accuracy of the nomogram. This nomogram which was based on demographic characteristics, lifestyle habits, anthropometrics, and laboratory data can visually and individually predict the risk of developing MAFLD. This nomogram is a quick and effective screening tool for assessing the risk of MAFLD in younger populations and identifying individuals at high risk of MAFLD, thereby contributing to the improvement of MAFLD management.

BACKGROUND: Interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 4 (IRAK4) plays an important role in immune modulation in various central nervous system disorders. However, IRAK4 has not been reported in epilepsy models in animal and clinical studies, nor has its involvement in regulating pyroptosis in epilepsy. METHOD: First, we performed transcriptome sequencing, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction, and western blot analysis on the hippocampal tissues of refractory epilepsy patients to measure the mRNA and protein levels of IRAK4 and pyroptosis-related proteins. Second, we successfully established a pentylenetetrazol (PTZ)-induced seizure mouse model. We conducted behavioral tests, electroencephalography, virus injection, and molecular biology experiments to investigate the role of IRAK4 in seizure activity regulation. RESULTS: IRAK4 is upregulated in the hippocampus of epilepsy patients and PTZ-induced seizure model mice. IRAK4 expression is observed in the hilar neurons of PTZ-induced mice. Knocking down IRAK4 in PTZ-induced mice downregulated pyroptosis-related protein expression and alleviated seizure activity. Overexpressing IRAK4 in naive mice upregulated pyroptosis-related protein expression and increased PTZ-induced abnormal neuronal discharges. IRAK4 and NF-κB were found to bind to each other in patient hippocampal tissue samples. Pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate reversed the pyroptosis-related protein expression increase caused by PTZ. PF-06650833 alleviated seizure activity and inhibited pyroptosis in PTZ-induced seizure mice. CONCLUSION: IRAK4 plays a key role in the pathological process of epilepsy, and its potential mechanism may be related to pyroptosis mediated by the NF-κB/NLRP3 signaling pathway. PF-06650833 has potential as a therapeutic agent for alleviating epilepsy.

OBJECTIVES: Imipenem-relebactam (IMR), a novel ß-lactam/ß-lactamase inhibitor combination, is recommended for infections caused by difficult-to-treat Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This study aimed to investigate the evolution trajectory of IMR resistance under the selection of levofloxacin in P. aeruginosa. METHODS: Antimicrobial susceptibility testing, complete genome sequencing and gene manipulation experiments were performed. Quantitative reverse transcription PCR for specific genes and porin levels were detected. Evolution trajectory was simulated in vitro by induction assay. RESULTS: P. aeruginosa HS347 and HS355 were isolated from abdominal drainage of two neighbouring patients (S and Z) undergoing surgery of colon carcinoma in Shanghai, China, with the latter patient having received levofloxacin. They were closely related ST16 strains, and both carried blaKPC-2 plasmids highly similar to those of P. aeruginosa endemic clones from Zhejiang province, where patient Z had received enteroscopy before this admission. Acquisition of resistance was observed for both IMR and fluoroquinolones in HS355, likely prompted by treatment with levofloxacin. The T274I substitution in MexS (putative oxidoreductase), upregulated efflux pump operon mexEF-oprN and decreased production of porin OprD leading to cross-resistance to fluoroquinolones and IMR, which was also verified by in vitro mutant selection under levofloxacin selection. CONCLUSIONS: The emergence of a rare blaKPC-2-plasmid-bearing ST16 clone implies the horizonal spread and inter-regional dissemination of a high-risk plasmid-clone combination, representing a public health challenge. Levofloxacin exposure can select for mexS inactivating mutation, which in turn leads to IMR resistance phenotype, implicating the role of an unrelated, widely used antimicrobial agent in insidiously triggering the development of cross resistance to a latest ß-lactam/ß-lactamase inhibitor combination.

INTRODUCTION: After superior vena cava (SVC) resection, the decision on unilateral or bilateral reconstruction was mostly based on the expertise of surgeons without objective measurements. This study explored the use of internal jugular vein pressure (IJVP) monitoring to guide the SVC reconstruction strategy. METHODS: In a retrospective cohort, perioperative outcomes of unilateral and bilateral reconstruction based on surgeons' experience were compared. Then, IJVP threshold was measured when temporarily clamping the left innominate vein in a testing cohort. Venous reconstruction according to IJVP monitoring was performed in a prospective validation cohort afterward. Perioperative outcomes were compared between the prospective and the retrospective cohorts. For some interested variables, intuitive explanations would be given using Bayesian methods. Potential risk factors for postoperative complications were investigated by multivariable analysis. RESULTS: From March 2009 to September 2022, 57 patients underwent SVC reconstruction based on surgeons' experience. Bayesian analysis indicated a posterior probability of 80.49% that unilateral reconstruction had less blood loss than bilateral reconstruction (median 550 ml vs. 1200 ml). Cerebral edema occurred in two patients after unilateral reconstruction. In the testing cohort, median IJVP was 22.7 (18-27) cmH 2 O after temporary left innominate vein clamping in 10 patients. In the prospective cohort, unilateral reconstruction only was performed if the contralateral IJVP was <30 cmH 2 O in 16 patients. Bilateral reconstruction was performed if IJVP was ≥30 cmH 2 O after unilateral bypass in nine patients. No cerebral edema occurred in the prospective cohort. Less postoperative complications occurred in the prospective cohort than the retrospective cohort (12.0 vs. 38.6%, P =0.016). Upon multivariable analysis, IJVP-monitoring guided SVC reconstruction was associated with significantly less postoperative complications ( P =0.033). CONCLUSIONS: Intraoperative IJVP-monitoring is a useful strategy for selection of unilateral or bilateral SVC reconstruction and improving perioperative safety in patients with mediastinal tumors.

PURPOSE: Epilepsy is a debilitating disease that can lead to series of social and psychological issues, impairing the quality of life of people with epilepsy (PWE). This survey aimed to investigate the awareness, attitudes, and first-aid knowledge of epilepsy in university students METHOD: This cross-sectional study was conducted in Henan Province, China between January 1 and April 30, 2022. Students majored in education, medicine, science and engineering from 8 universities attended the study. The survey questionnaire comprised 28 questions covering 4 sections: demographic characteristics, awareness of epilepsy, attitudes toward PWE and knowledge of first aid for seizures. RESULTS: A total of 2376 university students completed the questionnaire. 94.7% heard of epilepsy. In the first aid knowledge section, individual question was correctly answered by at least 50% students, 9.3% students correctly answered all questions. Attitude toward PWE was independently (R2 =0.108, F=73.227, p < 0.001) associated with both awareness of epilepsy (B=0.411, p < 0.001) and first aid knowledge of epilepsy (B=0.047, p = 0.001). Among the three majors, medical students had more positive attitudes toward PWE than students majored in education, science and engineering (p < 0.05). However, medical students performed worse among the groups when answering the first aid knowledge questions. CONCLUSION: This survey showed that university students in Central China had a good awareness of epilepsy. For medical students, improvements are necessary for the awareness of the first aid knowledge for seizure.

The leaf scorching trait at flowering is a crucial thermosensitive phenotype in maize under high temperature stress (HS), yet the genetic basis of this trait remains poorly understood. In this study, we genotyped a 254 RIL-F2:8 population, derived from the leaf scorch-free parental inbred line Abe2 and the leaf scorching maternal inbred line B73, using the specific-locus amplified fragment sequencing (SLAF-seq) method. A total of 10,112 polymorphic SLAF markers were developed, and a high-density genetic map with a total length of 1,475.88 cM was constructed. The average sequencing depth of the parents was 55.23X, and that of the progeny was 12.53X. Then, we identified a total of 16 QTLs associated with thermotolerant traits at flowering, of which four QTLs of leaf scorching damage (LS) were distributed on chromosomes 1 (qLS1), 2 (qLS2.1, qLS2.2) and 3 (qLS3), which could explain 19.73% of phenotypic variation. Combining one qLS1 locus with QTL-seq results led to the identification of 6 candidate genes. Expression experiments and sequence variation indicated that Zm00001d033328, encoding N-acetyl-gamma-glutamyl-phosphate reductase, was the most likely candidate gene controlling thermotolerant traits at flowering. In summary, the high-density genetic map and genetic basis of thermotolerant traits lay a critical foundation for mapping other complex traits and identifying the genes associated with thermotolerant traits in maize.

To address traditional impedance control methods' difficulty with obtaining stable forces during robot-skin contact, a force control based on the Gaussian mixture model/Gaussian mixture regression (GMM/GMR) algorithm fusing different compensation strategies is proposed. The contact relationship between a robot end effector and human skin is established through an impedance control model. To allow the robot to adapt to flexible skin environments, reinforcement learning algorithms and a strategy based on the skin mechanics model compensate for the impedance control strategy. Two different environment dynamics models for reinforcement learning that can be trained offline are proposed to quickly obtain reinforcement learning strategies. Three different compensation strategies are fused based on the GMM/GMR algorithm, exploiting the online calculation of physical models and offline strategies of reinforcement learning, which can improve the robustness and versatility of the algorithm when adapting to different skin environments. The experimental results show that the contact force obtained by the robot force control based on the GMM/GMR algorithm fusing different compensation strategies is relatively stable. It has better versatility than impedance control, and the force error is within ~±0.2 N.

The human body is in a complex environment affected by body heat, light, and sweat, requiring the development of a wearable multifunctional textile for human utilization. Meanwhile, the traditional thermoelectric yarn is limited by expensive and scarce inorganic thermoelectric materials, which restricts the development of thermoelectric textiles. Therefore, in this paper, photothermoelectric yarns (PPDA-PPy-PEDOT/CuI) using organic poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) and inorganic thermoelectric material cuprous iodide (CuI) are used for the thermoelectric layer and poly(pyrrole) (PPy) for the light-absorbing layer. With the introduction of PPy, the temperature difference of the photothermoelectric yarn can be increased for a better voltage output. Subsequently synergizing the photothermoelectric effect with the hydrovoltaic effect to create higher electric potentials, a single wet photothermoelectric yarn obtained by preparation can be irradiated under an infrared lamp at a voltage of up to 0.47 V. Finally, the photothermoelectric yarn PPDA-PPy-PEDOT/CuI was assembled in a series and parallel to obtain a photothermoelectric yarn panel, which was able to output 41.19 mV under an infrared lamp, and the synergistic photothermoelectric and hydrovoltaic effects of the photothermoelectric panel were tested outdoors on human body, and we found that the voltage was able to reach approximately 0.16 V under sunlight. Therefore, the voltage values obtained from the photothermoelectric yarns in this study are competitive and provide a new research idea for the study of photothermoelectric yarns.

Objective: Brucellosis is a serious public health issue in Qinghai (QH), China. Surveying the seroprevalence and isolation of B. abortus strains from marmots is key to understanding the role of wildlife in the maintenance and spread of brucellosis. Methods: In this study, a set of methods, including a serology survey, bacteriology, antibiotic susceptibility, molecular genotyping (MLST and MLVA), and genome sequencing, were employed to characterize the two B. abortus strains. Results: The seroprevalence of brucellosis in marmots was 7.0% (80/1146) by serum tube agglutination test (SAT); one Brucella strain was recovered from these positive samples, and another Brucella strain from a human. Two strains were identified as B. abortus bv. 1 and were susceptible to all eight drugs examined. The distribution patterns of the accessory genes, virulence associated genes, and resistance genes of the two strains were consistent, and there was excellent collinearity between the two strains on chromosome I, but they had significant SVs in chromosome II, including inversions and translocations. MLST genotyping identified two B. abortus strains as ST2, and MLVA-16 analysis showed that the two strains clustered with strains from northern China. WGS-SNP phylogenetic analysis showed that the strains were genetically homogeneous with strains from the northern region, implying that strains from a common lineage were spread continuously in different regions and hosts. Conclusion: Seroprevalence and molecular clues demonstrated frequent direct or indirect contact between sheep/goats, cattle, and marmots, implying that wildlife plays a vital role in the maintenance and spread of B. abortus in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
