RESUMO

Traditional lithium salts are difficult to meet practical application demand of lithium metal batteries (LMBs) under high voltages and temperatures. LiPF6, as the most commonly used lithium salt, still suffers from notorious moisture sensitivity and inferior thermal stability under those conditions. Here, we synthesize a lithium salt of lithium perfluoropinacolatoborate (LiFPB) comprising highly-fluorinated and borate functional groups to address the above issues. It is demonstrated that the LiFPB shows superior thermal and electrochemical stability without any HF generation under high temperatures and voltages. In addition, the LiFPB can form a protective outer-organic and inner-inorganic rich cathode electrolyte interphase on LiCoO2 (LCO) surface. Simultaneously, the FPB- anions tend to integrate into lithium ion solvation structure to form a favorable fast-ion conductive LiBxOy based solid electrolyte interphase on lithium (Li) anode. All these fantastic features of LiFPB endow LCO (1.9 mAh cm-2)/Li metal cells excellent cycling under both high voltages and temperatures (e.g., 80 % capacity retention after 260 cycles at 60 °C and 4.45 V), and even at an extremely elevated temperature of 100 °C. This work emphasizes the important role of salt anions in determining the electrochemical performance of LMBs at both high temperature and voltage conditions.

RESUMO

Currently, Si (or SiOx, 1 < x < 2) and graphite composite (Si/C) electrodes (e.g., Si/C450 and Si/C600 with specific capacities of 450 and 600 mAh g-1 at 0.1 C, respectively) have become the most promising alternative to traditional graphite anodes toward high-energy lithium-ion battery (LIB) applications by virtue of their higher specific capacity compared to graphite ones and improved cycle performance compared to Si (or SiOx) ones. However, such composite electrodes remain challenging to practical for implementation owing to electrode structure disintegration and interfacial instability caused by a large volume change of inner Si-based particles. Herein, we develop a covalent-bond cross-linking network binder for Si/C450 and Si/C600 electrodes via reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. The as-developed binder with a 3 mol % cross-linker of other monomers [termed P(SH-BA3%)] achieves improved mechanical and adhesive properties and decreased Si/C anode volume expansion, compared to the linear binder counterpart. Impressively, the P(SH-BA3%) binder at only 3 wt % dosage enables 83.56% capacity retention after 600 cycles at 0.5 C in Si/C450 anode based half-cells and retains 86.42% capacity retention at 0.3 C after 200 cycles and 80.95% capacity retention at 0.5 C after 300 cycles in LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 cathode (15 mg cm-2) based homemade soft package full cells. This work provides insight into binder cross-linking chemistry under limited dosage and enlightens cross-linking binder design toward practical Si/C electrode applications.

RESUMO

Polymer electrolytes (PEs) with excellent flexibility and superior compatibility toward lithium (Li) metal anodes have been deemed as one of the most promising alternatives to liquid electrolytes. However, conventional lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (LiTFSI)-based dual-ion PEs suffer from a low Li ion transference number and notorious Li dendrite growth. Here, a single-ion conducting polyborate salt without any fluorinated groups, polymeric lithium dihydroxyterephthalic acid borate (PLDPB), is presented for addressing the issues of Li metal batteries. Owing to a nearly immovable bulky anion and the presence of a rigid benzene structure, the PLDPB@poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) PE exhibits an ultrahigh Li ion transference number (0.94) and excellent mechanical strength, which could significantly restrict the growth of Li dendrites. Postmortem analysis reveals that a fluorine-free solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) enriched with B-O and benzene-containing species is formed on the surface of the Li metal anode, thereby facilitating elimination of excessive parasitic reactions and simultaneously suppressing the formation of Li dendrites. Consequently, the LiFePO4/Li cells with PLDPB@PEO PEs show an improved long-term cycling performance and high capacity retention (90.0%) and Coulombic efficiency (99.9%) after 500 cycles. This work may inspire new ideas to boost the development of single-ion conducting salts for dendrite-free Li metal batteries.

RESUMO

This research aimed to investigate the effects of supplements containing fermented feed made from Citri Sarcodactylis Fructus by-products (CSFBP-Fermented feed) on the growth performance, immunological function, and gut health of broilers. 1080 cyan-shank partridge birds aged 47 days were chosen and casually distributed to four groups, each with 6 replicates and 45 birds per replicate. The experimental groups were provided with 1% (group T2), 3% (group T3) and 5% (group T4) of CSFBP-fermented feed in the basic diet, while the control group (group T1) received the basic diet. The findings revealed that supplementation with CSFBP-Fermented feed reduced ADFI and FCR and improved ADG in birds (P < 0.05). MDA levels in the serum of birds fed CSFBP-fermented feed were lower than in the control group (P < 0.05). The CAT activity in the serum of broilers increased after supplementation with 3% CSFBP-Fermented feed (P < 0.05). Supplementing broilers with CSFBP-fermented feed enhanced VH in the ileum, jejunum, and duodenum (P < 0.05). The addition of 3% CSFBP-Fermented feed decreased CD in the jejunum (P < 0.05). The addition of 3% and 5% CSFBP-Fermented feed increased the mRNA expression of ZO-1 and Occludin in the jejunum of broiler chickens and reduced the mRNA expression of IL-6 (P < 0.05). The addition of 3% CSFBP-Fermented feed increased the mRNA expression of Claudin in the jejunum of broiler chickens and reduced IL-1ß mRNA expression (P < 0.05). Compared to the control group, all experimental groups exhibited decreased mRNA expression of TNF-α and INF-γ in the jejunal mucosa of the birds (P < 0.05). According to research using high-throughput sequencing of microorganisms' 16S rDNA, and an analysis of α-diversity found that supplementing broilers with 3% CSFBP-Fermented feed decreased the number of bacteria in their cecum (P < 0.05). Bacteroidota was higher in all groups after supplementation with CSFBP-Fermented feed. At the genus level, after addition with 3% CSFBP-Fermented feed, the abundance of Bacteroide and Prevotellaceae_Ga6A1_group were higher than the control group (33.36% vs 29.95%, 4.35% vs 2.94%). The abundance of Rikenellaceae_RC9_gut_group and Fusobacterium were lower than the control group (5.52% vs. 7.17%,0.38% vs. 1.33%). In summary, supplementing the diet with CSFBP-Fermented feed can promote the growth of performance by enhancing intestinal morphology, and barrier function, as well as modulating intestinal inflammatory factors and microbial composition in broilers.

RESUMO

Iron is an extraordinary promoter to impose nickel/cobalt (hydr)oxides as the most active oxygen evolution reaction catalysts, whereas the synergistic effect is actively debated. Here, we unveil that active oxygen species mediate a strong electrochemical interaction between iron oxides (FeOxHy) and the supporting metal oxyhydroxides. Our survey on the electrochemical behavior of nine supporting metal oxyhydroxides (M(O)OH) uncovers that FeOxHy synergistically promotes substrates that can produce active oxygen species exclusively. Tafel slopes correlate with the presence and kind of oxygen species. Moreover, the oxygen evolution reaction onset potentials of FeOxHy@M(O)OH coincide with the emerging potentials of active oxygen species, whereas large potential gaps are present for intact M(O)OH. Chemical probe experiments suggest that active oxygen species could act as proton acceptors and/or mediators for proton transfer and/or diffusion in cooperative catalysis. This discovery offers a new insight to understand the synergistic catalysis of Fe-based oxygen evolution reaction electrocatalysts.

RESUMO

Background: Pancreatic cancer is associated with high mortality and is one of the most aggressive of malignancies, but studies have not fully evaluated its molecular subtypes, prognosis and response to immunotherapy of different subtypes. The purpose of this study was to explore the molecular subtypes and the key genes associated with the prognosis of pancreas cancer patients and study the clinical phenotype, prognosis and response to immunotherapy using single-cell seq data and bulk RNA seq data, and data retrieved from GEO and TCGA databases. Methods: Single-cell seq data and bioinformatics methods were used in this study. Pancreatic cancer data were retrieved from GEO and TCGA databases, the molecular subtypes of pancreatic cancer were determined using the six cGAS-STING related pathways, and the clinical phenotype, mutation, immunological characteristics and pathways related to pancreatic cancer were evaluated. Results: Pancreatic cancer was classified into 3 molecular subtypes, and survival analysis revealed that patients in Cluster3 (C3) had the worst prognosis, whereas Cluster1 (C1) had the best prognosis. The clinical phenotype and gene mutation were statistically different among the three molecular subtypes. Analysis of immunotherapy response revealed that most immune checkpoint genes were differentially expressed in the three subtypes. A lower risk of immune escape was observed in Cluster1 (C1), indicating higher sensitivity to immunotherapeutic drugs and subjects in this Cluster are more likely to benefit from immunotherapy. The pathways related to pancreatic cancer were differentially enriched among the three subtypes. Five genes, namely SFRP1, GIPR, EMP1, COL17A and CXCL11 were selected to construct a prognostic signature. Conclusions: Single-cell seq data were to classify pancreatic cancer into three molecular subtypes based on differences in clinical phenotype, mutation, immune characteristics and differentially enriched pathways. Five prognosis-related genes were identified for prediction of survival of pancreatic cancer patients and to evaluate the efficacy of immunotherapy in various subtypes.

RESUMO

This study was to assess the effects of tea residues-fermented feed (TR-fermented feed) on production performance, egg quality, serum antioxidant capacity, caecal microbiota, and ammonia emissions of laying hens. A total of 1,296 Lohmann laying hens have randomly distributed four groups with six parallels and fed with diets TR-fermented feed at the rates of 0 (control), 1, 3, and 5%. The inclusion of 1% (TR)-fermented feed resulted in a significant increase in egg-laying rate and average egg weight of birds, and a reduction in the feed-to-egg ratio when compared to the control group (p < 0.05). The addition of 1 and 3% of (TR)-fermented feed significantly improved the Haugh unit of eggs (p < 0.05). The eggshell thickness was observed to increase by almost one-fold upon the inclusion of 3 and 5% (TR)-fermented feed in the basal diet (p < 0.05). The supplementation of 3% (TR)-fermented feed significantly increased the content of methionine, tyrosine, proline, essential amino acids (EAA), alpha linoleic acid (C18:3n6), docosanoic acid (C22:0), docosahexaenoic acid (C22:6n3), twenty-three carbonic acids (C23:0), ditetradecenoic acid (C24:1) and total omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (∑ω-3 PUFA) in the eggs (p < 0.05). The addition of a certain amount of (TR)-fermented feed can enhance the activity of glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in chicken serum, and reduce the level of malondialdehyde (MDA) (p < 0.05). The ammonia concentration in the hen house of laying hens in the treatment groups decreased significantly (p < 0.05). Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes, the main phyla in the cecal bacterial community, were differentially abundant in each group, comprising greater than 55 and 33%, respectively. Collectively, this research indicates that (TR)-fermented feed supplementation improves the performance of laying hens and reduces ammonia emissions and can be used in industry-scale layer production.

RESUMO

This research aimed to assess the impact of fermented Citri Sarcodactylis Fructus by-products (FCSF) on the growth performance, gut digestive enzyme activity, nutrient utilization efficiency, gut microbiota, and their metabolites in broiler chickens. A total of 1,080 male broiler chickens were allocated into four groups (T1-T4) consisting of 6 replicates per group, each containing 45 chickens. The basal diet was provided to group T1, while groups T2, T3, and T4 were supplemented with 1%, 3%, and 5% FCSF in the basal diet, respectively. The experimental period was 42 days. The findings revealed that supplementing FCSF improved the FW and ADG of broiler chickens, and led to a reduction in the F/G, ADFI, and mortality rate of broiler chickens (p < 0.05). Furthermore, supplementation with 3% and 5% FCSF improved the thigh yield, semi-eviscerated carcass yield, slaughter yield, and lipase activity in the duodenum and ileum of birds (p < 0.05). Additionally, supplementing 3% FCSF enhanced the activity of protease in the duodenum of broilers (p < 0.05). Moreover, supplementing 3% FCSF enhanced the utilization of total phosphorus, dry matter, crude protein, and crude ash in the feed by broilers (p < 0.05). Compared with the control group, supplementation of 3% and 5% FCSF reduced the serine content in broiler chicken breast meat (p < 0.05). Supplementing 1% FCSF significantly increased the C14:0, C14:1, and C20:1 content in the breast meat compared to the other experimental groups (p < 0.05). The levels of C20:4n6 and C23:0 in the breast meat of birds of FCSF supplemented groups were lower than in T1 (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the content of ∑ω-3PUFA decreased after supplementing with 3% and 5% FCSF (p < 0.05). 16SrDNA showed that supplementing 3% FCSF reduced the ACE, Chao1, and Shannon indices in the cecum of birds (p < 0.05). Supplementing 3% FCSF also decreased the abundance of the phylum Desulfobacterota and improved genera Coprobacter and Prevotella in the cecum of broiler chickens (p < 0.05). Metabolomic analysis of the gut microbiota revealed that supplementing 3% FCSF upregulated 6 metabolites and downregulated 16 metabolites (p < 0.05). Moreover, supplementing 3% FCSF downregulated 12 metabolic pathways and upregulated 3 metabolic pathways (p < 0.05). In summary our findings indicate that supplementing FCSF can improve the growth performance of broiler chickens by enhancing intestinal digestive enzyme activity, nutrient utilization, improving gut microbial diversity, and influencing the metabolism of gut microbiota.

RESUMO

Transcription factors (TFs) regulate the expression of genes responsible for cell growth, differentiation, and responses to environmental factors. In this study, we demonstrated that signal-induced proliferation-associated 1 (SIPA1), known as a Rap-GTPase-activating protein, bound DNA and served as a TF. Importin ß1 was found to interact with SIPA1 upon fibronectin treatment. A TGAGTCAB motif was recognized and bound by DNA-binding region (DBR) of SIPA1, which was confirmed by electrophoretic mobility shift assay. SIPA1 regulated the transcription of multiple genes responsible for signal transduction, DNA synthesis, cell adhesion, cell migration, and so on. Transcription of fibronectin 1, which is crucial for cell junction and migration of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells, was regulated by SIPA1 in a DBR-dependent manner both in vivo and in vitro. Furthermore, single-cell transcriptome sequencing analysis of specimens from a metastatic TNBC patient revealed that SIPA1 was highly expressed in metastatic TNBC. Hence, this study demonstrated that SIPA1 served as a TF, promoting TNBC migration, invasion, and metastasis.

RESUMO

Introduction: The purpose of this research was to investigate how dietary supplementation with fermented herbal residues (FCMR) affected birds' development capacity, quality of meat, gut barrier, and cecum microbiota. Methods: 540 cyan-shank partridge birds aged 47 days were chosen and divided into two groups of six replicates each and 45 birds for each replicate. The control group (CON) received a basal diet, while the trial group decreased a basic diet containing 5% FCMR. Results and discussion: The findings revealed that the addition of FCMR decreased FCR and increased ADG in broilers (P < 0.05). Adding FCMR increased steaming loss in broiler chicken breasts (p < 0.05). Supplementation with FCMR significantly enhanced VH/CD and VH in the bird's intestine (jejunum, duodenum, and ileum) (p < 0.05). In addition, the addition of FCMR significantly down-regulated mRNA expression of INF-γ, IL-6, IL-1ß, and TNF-α and up-regulated mRNA expression of ZO-1, Occludin, and Claudin (P < 0.05). Microbial 16S rDNA high-throughput sequencing study revealed that supplements with FCMR modified the cecum microbiota, and α-diversity analysis showed that supplementation with FCMR reduced the cecum bacterial abundance in broilers (P < 0.05). At the phylum level, the relative abundance of Spirochaetota increased considerably following FCMR supplementation (P < 0.05). The broiler cecum's close lot of Prevotellaceae_UCG-001 (P < 0.05), Desulfovibrio, Muribaculaceae, and Fusobacterium (p < 0.05) reduced when FCMR was supplemented. Supplementation with FCMR can promote growth capacity and maintain intestinal health in birds by enhancing gut barrier function and modulating the inflammatory response and microbial composition.

RESUMO

Increasing evidence supports the connection between the progression of several cancers and BRK1. However, the clinical significance of aberrant BRK1 gene expression in cancer is unknown. This study is conducted to investigate the possibility and effect of BRK1 as a potential immunotherapy target, to deliver a better option for liver cancer immunotherapy. We explored the predictive role of BRK1 expression in a variety of cancers from different bioinformatics, including differential expression in different cancers, tumor microenvironment (TME), microsatellite instability (MSI), tumor mutational burden (TMB), immune checkpoint molecules, immune-related and cell cycle-related signalling pathways, and drug response sensitivity. Finally, we verified the expression of BRK1 in hepatocellular carcinoma using immunohistochemistry. BRK1 is overexpressed in multiple cancers and displays a negative association with prognosis and progression of disease in a wide range of main cancer types. Additionally, the expression of BRK1 is related to MSI and TMB of tumors. There was also a remarkable correlation between the expression of BRK1 and immune score, immune infiltration, immune checkpoint molecules and a stromal score of tumors. In hepatocellular carcinoma, BRK1 is associated with several signaling pathways and immune cell infiltration may affect several key immune-related regulatory genes, making it an excellent biomarker and may be a sensitive target for immune drugs. Our research suggests that BRK1 may be a potential prognostic marker and target for immunotherapy and may be associated with poor prognosis in diverse malignancies, including hepatocellular carcinoma.

RESUMO

Magnesium (Mg) metal secondary batteries have attracted much attention for their high safety and high energy density characteristics. However, the significant issues of the cathode/electrolyte interphase (CEI) in Mg batteries are still being ignored. In this work, a significant CEI layer on the typical Mo6 S8 cathode surface has been unprecedentedly constructed through the oxidation of the chloride-free magnesium tetrakis(hexafluoroisopropyloxy)borate (Mg[B(hfip)4 ]2 ) salt under a proper charge cut-off voltage condition. The CEI has been identified to contain Bx Oy effective species originating from the oxidation of [B(hfip)4 ]- anion. It is confirmed that the Bx Oy species is beneficial to the desolvation of solvated Mg2+ , speeding up the interfacial Mg2+ transfer kinetics, thereby improving the Mg2+ -storage capability of Mo6 S8 host. The firstly reported CEI in Mg batteries will give deeper insights into the interface issues in multivalent electrochemical systems.

RESUMO

Glioblastoma (GBM) is one of the most common malignancies among primary brain tumors in adults, featuring a poor prognosis and a high recurrence rate. Eukaryotic elongation factor 2 kinase (eEF2K) is a calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase that is involved in promoting tumor cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and survival. However, its expression level in GBM, its prognostic impact and correlation with immune infiltration are not yet known. In this study, we used The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database to explore the potential molecular mechanisms of eEF2K in GBM development and clinical prognosis in terms of gene expression, survival status, immune infiltration, and associated cellular pathways. We found that eEF2K expression levels were elevated in GBM, but eEF2K was not associated with the prognosis of GBM patients; eEF2K expression in GBM was associated with multiple immune cell infiltrations. These results show a statistical correlation between eEF2K expression and the development of GBM and immune cell infiltration, which helps us to understand the roles of eEF2K in GBM from different perspectives.

RESUMO

Uniform magnesium (Mg) plating/stripping under high areal capacity utilization is critical for the practical application of Mg-metal anodes in rechargeable Mg batteries. However, the failure of the Mg-metal anode when cycling under a practical areal capacity (>4 mA h cm-2 ), is of rising concern. The mechanism behind these failures remains controversial. In this work, it is illustrated that the initial plating Mg can be undoubtedly uniform in a wide range of current densities (≤5 mA cm-2 ) and under a practical areal capacity (6 mA h cm-2 ). However, an unusual self-accelerating pit growth is observed in the Mg stripping side under moderate current densities (0.1-1 mA cm-2 ), which severely deteriorates the anode integrity and subsequent Mg plating uniformity, causing failure of the Mg-metal anode or short circuit of the battery. The stripping morphology depends on the applied current density, as non-uniformity versus the current density displays a volcano plot during the stripping process. Through in situ spectroscopy, it is illustrated that this current-dependent behavior is determined by the evolution of chlorine-containing complex ions near the interface. This research reminds that the plating/stripping process of the Mg-metal anode must be considered comprehensively for practical Mg-metal batteries.

RESUMO

All-solid-state lithium-metal batteries (ASLMBs) are considered to be remarkably promising energy storage devices owing to their high safety and energy density. However, the limitations of current solid electrolytes in oxidation stability and ion transport properties have emerged as fundamental barriers in practical applications. Herein, a novel solid electrolyte is presented by in situ polymerization of salt-concentrated poly(ethylene glycol) diglycidyl ether (PEGDE) implanted with a three-dimensional porous L10 GeP2 S12 skeleton to mitigate these issues. The poly(PEGDE) endows more oxygen atoms to coordinate with Li+ , significantly lowering its highest occupied molecular orbital level. As a consequence, the electro-oxidation resistance of poly(PEGDE) exceeds 4.7 V versus Li+ /Li. Simultaneously, the three-dimensonal porous L10 GeP2 S12 skeleton provides a percolated pathway for rapid Li+ migration, ensuring a sufficient ionic conductivity of 7.7 × 10-4 S cm-1 at room temperature. As the bottlenecks are well solved, 4.5 V LiNi0.8 Mn0.1 Co0.1 O2 -based ASLMBs present fantastic cycle performance over 200 cycles with an average Coulombic efficiency exceeding 99.6% at room temperature.

RESUMO

Chalcogenides have been viewed as important conversion-type Mg2+ -storage cathodes to fulfill the high volumetric energy density promise of magnesium (Mg) batteries. However, the low initial Columbic efficiency and the rapid capacity degradation remain challenges for the chalcogenide cathodes, as the clear Mg2+ -storage mechanism has yet to be clarified. Herein, we illustrate that the charge storage mechanism of the Cu2-x Se cathode is a reversible displacement reaction along with a polyselenide (PSe) mediated solution process of anion-compensation. The unique anion redox improves charge storage, while the dissolution of PSe also leads to performance degradation. To address this issue, we introduce Mo6 S8 into the Cu2-x Se cathode to immobilize PSe, which significantly improves performance, especially the reversible capacity (from 140 mAh g-1 to 220 mAh g-1 ). This work provides inspiration for the modification of the Mg2+ -storage cathode, which is a milestone for high-performance Mg batteries.

RESUMO

Electrochemo-mechanical failure of Ni-rich cathodes leads to rapid performance degradation, and thus hinders their practical implementation in all-solid-state lithium batteries (ASSLBs). To solve this problem, herein, we propose a bifunctional chemomechanics strategy by protecting polycrystalline LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 (NCM) cathodes using a high-mechanical-strength fast ionic conductor LiZr2(PO4)3 (LZP) coating layer. The coating layer's synergistic effect between mechanical strength and electrochemical stability is studied in Li6PS5Cl (LPSCl)-based ASSLBs for the first time. Using finite element method (FEM) simulations and various characterization techniques, we demonstrate that the robust and stable LZP (Young's modulus 140.7 GPa, electrochemical stability window >5 V) coating layer mitigates the volume change and particle disintegration of polycrystalline NCM and electrochemical decomposition of LPSCl on the LPSCl/NCM interface. As a result, the LZP-modified ASSLBs display remarkably improved reversible capacity, cycle life, and rate performance. The synergy of mechanical and electrochemical properties of the coating layer will provide valuable guidance for the development of high-energy-density ASSLBs.

RESUMO

Solid-state zinc (Zn) batteries offer a new candidate for emerging applications sensitive to volume, safety and cost. However, current solid polymeric or ceramic electrolyte structures remain poorly conductive for the divalent Zn2+ , especially at room temperature. Constructing a heterogeneous interface which allows Zn2+ percolation is a viable option, but this is rarely involved in multivalent systems. Herein, we construct a solid Zn2+ -ion conductor by inducing crystallization of tailored eutectic liquids formed by organic Zn salts and bipolar ligands. High-entropy eutectic-networks weaken the ion-association and form interfacial Zn2+ -percolated channels on the nucleator surfaces, resulting in a solid crystal with exceptional selectivity for Zn2+ transport (t Zn 2 + =0.64) and appreciable Zn2+ conductivity (σ Zn 2 + =3.78×10-5  S cm-1 at 30 °C, over 2 orders of magnitude higher than conventional polymers), and finally enabling practical ambient-temperature Zn/V2 O5 metal solid cells. This design principle leveraged by the eutectic solidification affords new insights on the multivalent solid electrochemistry suffering from slow ion migration.

RESUMO

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common and lethal malignancies worldwide. Although there have been extensive studies on the molecular mechanisms of its carcinogenesis, FDA-approved drugs for HCC are rare. Side effects, development time, and cost of these drugs are the major bottlenecks, which can be partially overcome by drug repositioning. In this study, we developed a computational framework to study the mechanisms of HCC carcinogenesis, in which drug perturbation-induced gene expression signatures were utilized for repositioning of potential drugs. Specifically, we first performed differential expression analysis and coexpression network module analysis on the HCC dataset from The Cancer Genome Atlas database. Differential gene expression analysis identified 1,337 differentially expressed genes between HCC and adjacent normal tissues, which were significantly enriched in functions related to various pathways, including α-adrenergic receptor activity pathway and epinephrine binding pathway. Weighted gene correlation network analysis (WGCNA) suggested that the number of coexpression modules was higher in HCC tissues than in normal tissues. Finally, by correlating differentially expressed genes with drug perturbation-related signatures, we prioritized a few potential drugs, including nutlin and eribulin, for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma. The drugs have been reported by a few experimental studies to be effective in killing cancer cells.

RESUMO

Magnesium (Mg) metal anode is a highly desirable candidate among various high energy density metal anodes, possessing higher volumetric capacity and better safety characteristic compared to lithium metal. However, most Mg salts in conventional Mg electrolytes easily react with Mg metal to form blocking layers, leading to inferior reversibility of Mg plating/stripping. Here, a stable Mg2+ -conducting solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) is successfully constructed on Mg metal anode by regulating the molecular-orbital-energy-level toward an aluminum(III)-centered anion Mg salt through anion-solvent coordination. Of which, the LUMO energy level of perfluorinated pinacolatoaluminate (Al(O2 C2 (CF3 )4 )2 - , abbreviated as FPA) anion has been adjusted by coordinating with solvent molecule (tetrahydrofuran) for facilitating the formation of advantageous SEI. The existence of SEI formed by FPA anion greatly improves the reversibility and long-term stability of Mg plating/stripping process. More importantly, based on this aluminum(III)-centered Mg electrolyte, the Mo6 S8 /Mg batteries can achieve a fantastic cycle performance of 9000 cycles, proving the beneficial effect of SEI on the cycling stability of Mg battery system. These findings open up a promising avenue to construct stable and compatible SEI on Mg metal anode, and lay significant foundations for the successful development of rechargeable Mg metal batteries.
