RESUMO
Copper (Cu) is considered to be the most effective catalyst for electrochemical conversion of carbon dioxide (CO2) into value-added hydrocarbons, but its stability still faces considerable challenge. Here, we report the poisoning effect of carbon deposition during CO2 reduction on the active sites of Cu electrode-a critical deactivation factor that is often overlooked. We find that, *C, an intermediate toward methane formation, could desorb on the electrode surface to form carbon species. We reveal a strong correlation between the formation of methane and the carbon deposition, and the reaction conditions favoring methane production result in more carbon deposition. The deposited carbon blocks the active sites and consequently causes rapid deterioration of the catalytic performance. We further demonstrate that the carbon deposition can be mitigated by increasing the roughness of the electrode and increasing the pH of the electrolyte. This work offers a new guidance for designing more stable catalysts for CO2 reduction.
RESUMO
BACKGROUND: Temozolomide (TMZ) is the first-line chemotherapeutic drug for gliomas treatment. However, the clinical efficacy of TMZ in glioma patients was very limited. Therefore, it is urgently needed to discover a novel approach to increase the sensitivity of glioma cells to TMZ. METHODS: Western blot, immunohistochemical staining, and qRT-PCR assays were used to explore the mechanisms underlying TMZ promoting DKK1 expression and andrographolide (AND) inhibiting DKK1 expression. HPLC was used to detect the ability of andrographolide (AND) to penetrate the blood-brain barrier. MTT assay, bioluminescence images, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and H&E staining were employed to measure the proliferative activity of glioma cells and the growth of intracranial tumors. RESULTS: TMZ can promote DKK1 expression in glioma cells and brain tumors of an orthotopic model of glioma. DKK1 could promote glioma cell proliferation and tumor growth in an orthotopic model of glioma. Mechanistically, TMZ increased EGFR expression and subsequently induced the activation of its downstream MEK-ERK and PI3K-Akt pathways, thereby promoting DKK1 expression in glioma cells. Andrographolide inhibited TMZ-induced DKK1 expression through inactivating MEK-ERK and PI3K-Akt pathways. Andrographolide can cross the blood-brain barrier, the combination of TMZ and andrographolide not only improved the anti-tumor effects of TMZ but also showed a survival benefit in an orthotopic model of glioma. CONCLUSION: Andrographolide can enhance anti-tumor activity of TMZ against glioma by inhibiting DKK1 expression.

BACKGROUND: Lung adenocarcinoma is a high-mortality rate cancer. Within this category, Lung mucinous adenocarcinoma (LMAC) is a rare and distinct subtype of lung adenocarcinoma necessitating further investigation. The study was launched to compare the difference of survival features between LMAC and lung non-mucinous adenocarcinoma (LNMAC) and to investigate the significance and demand for developing a new staging system tailored to LMAC. METHODS: This retrospective study assessed the suitableness of the current staging system for LMAC. It compared the overall survival (OS) between LMAC and LNMAC from 2004 to 2020 (LNMAC: 160,387; LMAC: 6,341) and instituted a novel classification framework for LMAC based on US population. Verification group consisting of patients from two Chinese medical centers from 2010 to 2018 (n = 392) was set to ascertain the applicability of this novel system. The primary endpoint was OS. To minimize the bias, propensity score match (PSM) was employed. Survival analysis and Log-rank test were executed to explore the survival features of LMAC. RESULTS: The results indicated that the existed staging system was not suitable for LMAC. Patients diagnosed with LMAC exhibited a superior OS compared to those with LNMAC in stage IA2 (P < 0.0001), IA3 (P < 0.0001), IB (P = 0.0062), IIA (P = 0.0090), IIB (P = 0.0005). In contrast, a worse OS in stage IVA (P = 0.0103) was found in LMAC patients. The novel classification system proposed for LMAC proved to be highly applicable and demonstrated substantial efficacy, as confirmed by the verification group. CONCLUSION: The newly established classification system was more effective for LMAC, but it necessitates large-scale verification to confirm its applicability and reliability.

Scarce and expensive iridium oxide is still the cornerstone catalyst of polymer-electrolyte membrane electrolyzers for green hydrogen production because of its exceptional stability under industrially relevant oxygen evolution reaction (OER) conditions. Earth-abundant transition metal oxides used for this task, however, show poor long-term stability. We demonstrate here the use of nitrogen-doped cobalt oxide as an effective iridium substitute. The catalyst exhibits a low overpotential of 240 mV at 10 mA cm-2 and negligible activity decay after 1000 h of operation in an alkaline electrolyte. Incorporation of nitrogen dopants not only triggers the OER mechanism switched from the traditional adsorbate evolution route to the lattice oxygen oxidation route but also achieves oxygen nonbonding (ONB) states as electron donors, thereby preventing structural destabilization. In a practical anion-exchange membrane water electrolyzer, this catalyst at anode delivers a current density of 1000 mA cm-2 at 1.78 V and an electrical efficiency of 47.8 kW-hours per kilogram hydrogen.
RESUMO
The gut microbiota plays a pivotal role in upholding intestinal health, fostering intestinal development, fortifying organisms against pathogen intrusion, regulating nutrient absorption, and managing the body's lipid metabolism. However, the influence of different cultivation modes on the growth indices and intestinal microbes of Salmo trutta fario remains underexplored. In this study, we employed high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics techniques to scrutinize the intestinal microbiota in three farming modes: traditional pond aquaculture (TPA), recirculating aquaculture (RA), and flow-through aquaculture (FTA). We aimed to assess the impact of different farming methods on the water environment and Salmo trutta fario's growth performance. Our findings revealed that the final weight and weight gain rate in the FTA model surpassed those in the other two. Substantial disparities were observed in the composition, relative abundance, and diversity of Salmo trutta fario gut microbiota under different aquaculture modes. Notably, the dominant genera of Salmo trutta fario gut microbiota varied across farming modes: for instance, in the FTA model, the most prevalent genera were SC-I-84 (7.34%), Subgroup_6 (9.93%), and UTCFX1 (6.71%), while, under RA farming, they were Bacteroidetes_vadinHA17 (10.61%), MBNT15 (7.09%), and Anaeromyxoactor (6.62%). In the TPA model, dominant genera in the gut microbiota included Anaeromyxobacter (8.72%), Bacteroidetes_vadinHA17 (8.30%), and Geobacter (12.54%). From a comparative standpoint, the genus-level composition of the gut microbiota in the RA and TPA models exhibited relative similarity. The gut microbiota in the FTA model showcased the most intricate functional diversity, while TPA farming displayed a more intricate interaction pattern with the gut microbiota. Transparency, pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, total dissolved solids, and temperature emerged as pivotal factors influencing Salmo trutta fario gut microbiota under diverse farming conditions. These research findings offer valuable scientific insights for fostering healthy aquaculture practices and disease prevention and control measures for Salmo trutta fario, holding substantial significance for the sustainable development of the cold-water fish industry in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
RESUMO
Reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) by renewable electricity to produce multicarbon chemicals, such as ethylene (C2H4), continues to be a challenge because of insufficient Faradaic efficiency, low production rates, and complex mechanistic pathways. Here, we report that the rate-determining steps (RDS) on common copper (Cu) surfaces diverge in CO2 electroreduction, leading to distinct catalytic performances. Through a combination of experimental and computational studies, we reveal that CâC bond-making is the RDS on Cu(100), whereas the protonation of *CO with adsorbed water becomes rate-limiting on Cu(111) with a higher energy barrier. On an oxide-derived Cu(100)-dominant Cu catalyst, we reach a high C2H4 Faradaic efficiency of 72%, partial current density of 359 mA cm-2, and long-term stability exceeding 100 h at 500 mA cm-2, greatly outperforming its Cu(111)-rich counterpart. We further demonstrate constant C2H4 selectivity of >60% over 70 h in a membrane electrode assembly electrolyzer with a full-cell energy efficiency of 23.4%.

BACKGROUND: Bosma arhinia microphthalmia syndrome (BAMS; MIM603457) is a rare genetic disorder, predominantly autosomal dominant. It is a multi-system developmental disorder characterized by severe hypoplasia of the nose and eyes, and reproductive system defects. BAMS is extremely rare in the world and no cases have been reported in Chinese population so far. Pathogenic variants in the SMCHD1 gene (MIM614982) cause BAMS, while the underlying molecular mechanisms requires further investigation. CASE PRESENTATION: In this study, a Chinese girl who has suffered from congenital absence of nose and microphthalmia was enrolled and subsequently submitted to a comprehensive clinical and genetic evaluation. Whole-exome sequencing (WES) was employed to identify the genetic entity of thisgirl. A heterozygous pathogenic variant, NM_015295, c.1025G > C; p. (Trp342Ser) of SMCHD1 was identified. By performing very detailed physical and genetic examinations, the patient was diagnosed as BAMS. CONCLUSION: This report is the first description of a variant in SMCHD1 in a Chinese patient affected with BAMS.Our study not only furnished valuable genetic data for counseling of BAMS, but also confirmed the diagnosis of BAMS, which may help the management and prognosis for this patient.

BACKGROUND: Delirium is common among elderly patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) and is associated with prolonged hospitalization, increased healthcare costs, and increased risk of death. Understanding the potential risk factors and early prevention of delirium is critical to facilitate timely intervention that may reverse or mitigate the harmful consequences of delirium. AIM: To clarify the effects of pre-admission falls on ICU outcomes, primarily delirium, and secondarily pressure injuries and urinary tract infections. METHODS: The study relied on data sourced from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care IV (MIMIC-IV) database. Statistical tests (Wilcoxon rank-sum or chi-squared) compared cohort characteristics. Logistic regression was employed to investigate the association between a history of falls and delirium, as well as secondary outcomes, while Kaplan-Meier survival curves were used to assess short-term survival in delirium and non-delirium patients. RESULTS: Study encompassed 22,547 participants. Delirium incidence was 40%, significantly higher in patients with a history of falls (54.4% vs. 34.5%, p < 0.001). Logistic regression, controlling for confounders, not only confirmed that a history of falls elevates the odds of delirium (OR: 2.11; 95% CI: 1.97-2.26; p < 0.001) but also showed it increases the incidence of urinary tract infections (OR:1.50; 95% CI:1.40-1.62; p < 0.001) and pressure injuries (OR:1.36; 95% CI:1.26-1.47; p < 0.001). Elderly delirium patients exhibited lower 30-, 180-, and 360-day survival rates than non-delirium counterparts (all p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: The study reveals that history of falls significantly heighten the risk of delirium and other adverse outcomes in elderly ICU patients, leading to decreased short-term survival rates. This emphasizes the critical need for early interventions and could inform future strategies to manage and prevent these conditions in ICU settings.

In insects, chemosensory proteins (CSPs) play an important role in the perception of the external environment and have been widely used for protein-binding characterization. Riptortus pedestris has received increased attention as a potential cause of soybean staygreen syndrome in recent years. In this study, we found that RpedCSP4 expression in the antennae of adult R. pedestris increased with age, with no significant difference in expression level observed between males and females, as determined through quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Subsequently, we investigated the ability of RpedCSP4 to bind various ligands (five aggregated pheromone components and 13 soybean volatiles) using a prokaryotic expression system and fluorescence competitive binding assays. We found that RpedCSP4 binds to three aggregated pheromone components of R. pedestris, namely, ((E)-2-hexenyl (Z)-3-hexenoate (E2Z3), (E)-2-hexenyl (E)-2-hexenoate (E2E2), and (E)-2-hexenyl hexenoate (E2HH)), and that its binding capacities are most stable under acidic condition. Finally, the structure and protein-ligand interactions of RpedCSP4 were further analyzed via homology modeling, molecular docking, and targeted mutagenesis experiments. The L29A mutant exhibited a loss of binding ability to these three aggregated pheromone components. Our results show that the olfactory function of RpedCSP4 provides new insights into the binding mechanism of RpedCSPs to aggregation pheromones and contributes to discover new target candidates that will provide a theoretical basis for future population control of R. pedestris.

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of DNA methylation of Fork Head Box O3 (FOXO3a) on the process of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: The expressions of FOXO3a, DNA methyltransferase 1 (DNMT1), METTL3, and EMT-related proteins (E-cadherin and N-cadherin) were measured. The influence of 5-Aza-dC and DNMT1 on the methylation level in the promoter region of FOXO3a was examined through the application of methylation-specific PCR (MSP). Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) was employed to detect binding between DNMT1 and the FOXO3a promoter. Methylated RNA immunoprecipitation (MeRIP) was utilized to evaluate the level of DNMT1 N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methylation. The assessment of cell viability and invasion abilities of A549 cells was performed using Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) and Transwell assays, respectively. NSCLC xenograft mouse models were established by subcutaneously injected treated A549 cells into nude mice. Results: The expression levels of DNMT1 and DNA methylation level FOXO3a were found to be significantly increased, whereas FOXO3a expression was considerably decreased in NSCLC cell lines and NSCLC tumor tissues. Both 5-Aza-dC treatment and DNMT1 knockdown resulted in the down-regulation of DNA methylation levels of FOXO3a while simultaneously up-regulating the expression of FOXO3a. A ChIP assay demonstrated that DNMT1 has the ability to bind to the promoter region of FOXO3a. Furthermore, the knockdown of DNMT1 promoted E-cadherin expression, but inhibited expression of N-cadherin, cell viability, and invasion ability. However, the knockdown of FOXO3a hindered the effect of DNMT1 knockdown on EMT, cell viability, and invasion ability of A549 cells. This was evidenced by decreased E-cadherin expression and increased N-cadherin expression, as well as increased cell viability and invasion ability. Increased expression of DNMT1 resulted from m6A methylation of DNMT1, which was mediated by METTL3. Overexpression of DNMT1 decreased of E-cadherin expression while increased N-cadherin expression, cell viability, and invasion ability in METTL3-shRNA treated A549 cells. In xenograft mouse models, DNMT1 knockdown significantly reduced tumor volumes and tumor weight. DNMT1 knockdown upregulated the expression of FOXO3a and E-cadherin, while downregulated N-cadherin expression in vivo. Conclusion: METTL3-mediated m6A methylation of DNMT1 up-regulates FOXO3a promoter methylation, thereby promoting the progression of NSCLC.
RESUMO
Various SARS-CoV-2-related coronaviruses have been increasingly identified in pangolins, showing a potential threat to humans. Here we report the infectivity and pathogenicity of the SARS-CoV-2-related virus, PCoV-GX/P2V, which was isolated from a Malayan pangolin (Manis javanica). PCoV-GX/P2V could grow in human hepatoma, colorectal adenocarcinoma cells, and human primary nasal epithelial cells. It replicated more efficiently in cells expressing human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (hACE2) as SARS-CoV-2 did. After intranasal inoculation to the hACE2-transgenic mice, PCoV-GX/P2V not only replicated in nasal turbinate and lungs, but also caused interstitial pneumonia, characterized by infiltration of mixed inflammatory cells and multifocal alveolar hemorrhage. Existing population immunity established by SARS-CoV-2 infection and vaccination may not protect people from PCoV-GX/P2V infection. These findings further verify the hACE2 utility of PCoV-GX/P2V by in vivo experiments using authentic viruses and highlight the importance for intensive surveillance to prevent possible cross-species transmission.

Background and objective: Stent-assisted coil (SAC) embolization is a commonly used endovascular treatment for unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIAs) but can be associated with symptomatic delayed intracerebral hemorrhage (DICH). Our study aimed to investigate the hemodynamic risk factors contributing to DICH following SAC embolization and to establish a classification for DICH predicated on hemodynamic profiles. Methods: This retrospective study included patients with UIAs located in the internal carotid artery (ICA) treated with SAC embolization at our institution from January 2021 to January 2022. We focused on eight patients who developed postoperative DICH and matched them with sixteen control patients without DICH. Using computational fluid dynamics, we evaluated the hemodynamic changes in distal arteries [terminal ICA, the anterior cerebral artery (ACA), and middle cerebral artery (MCA)] pre-and post-embolization. We distinguished DICH-related arteries from unrelated ones (ACA or MCA) and compared their hemodynamic alterations. An imbalance index, quantifying the differential in flow velocity changes between ACA and MCA post-embolization, was employed to gauge the flow distribution in distal arteries was used to assess distal arterial flow distribution. Results: We identified two types of DICH based on postoperative flow alterations. In type 1, there was a significant lower in the mean velocity increase rate of the DICH-related artery compared to the unrelated artery (-47.25 ± 3.88% vs. 42.85 ± 3.03%; p < 0.001), whereas, in type 2, there was a notable higher (110.58 ± 9.42% vs. 17.60 ± 4.69%; p < 0.001). Both DICH types demonstrated a higher imbalance index than the control group, suggesting an association between altered distal arterial blood flow distribution and DICH occurrence. Conclusion: DICH in SAC-treated UIAs can manifest as either a lower (type 1) or higher (type 2) in the rate of velocity in DICH-related arteries. An imbalance in distal arterial blood flow distribution appears to be a significant factor in DICH development.
RESUMO
We propose a mechanism to simultaneously enhance quantum cooling and entanglement via coupling an auxiliary microwave cavity to a magnomechanical cavity. The auxiliary cavity acts as a dissipative cold reservoir that can efficiently cool multiple localized modes in the primary system via beam-splitter interactions, which enables us to obtain strong quantum cooling and entanglement. We analyze the stability of the system and determine the optimal parameter regime for cooling and entanglement under the auxiliary-microwave-cavity-assisted (AMCA) scheme. The maximum cooling enhancement rate of the magnon mode can reach 98.53%, which clearly reveals that the magnomechanical cooling is significantly improved in the presence of the AMCA. More importantly, the dual-mode entanglement of the system can also be significantly enhanced by AMCA in the full parameter region, where the initial magnon-phonon entanglement can be maximally enhanced by a factor of about 11. Another important result of the AMCA is that it also increases the robustness of the entanglement against temperature. Our approach provides a promising platform for the experimental realization of entanglement and quantum information processing based on cavity magnomechanics.
RESUMO
BACKGROUND: Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) is an effective treatment method for knee osteoarthritis. With the development and implementation of enhanced recovery after surgery, UKA is now increasingly performed in outpatient surgical centers. However, there is ongoing debate regarding the safety and effectiveness of performing UKA in outpatient settings. METHODS: The search was performed to retrieve randomized controlled trials and cohort studies on outpatient UKA from PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMbase, CNKI, and WanFangData databases. The search was conducted from the inception of the databases until August 31, 2023. After independent screening, data extraction, and risk of bias evaluation by two researchers, meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.4 software. RESULTS: A total of eight studies involving 18,411 patients were included. The results showed that the postoperative transfusion rate in the outpatient group was lower than that in the inpatient group [OR = 0.36, 95%CI (0.24, 0.54), p < 0.00001], and the difference was statistically significant. However, there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of readmission rate, reoperation rate, surgical site infection, and periprosthetic fracture. The differences were not statistically significant. CONCLUSION: Compared to the traditional inpatient route, the blood transfusion rate for single-condyle replacement in the outpatient operation center is lower, and there is no significant difference in readmission rate, reoperation rate, surgical site infection, and periprosthesis fracture. The outpatient approach to UKA is safe, feasible, and highly satisfactory for patients. However, the results have certain limitations, and a rigorous preoperative complication risk assessment can minimize the risk of UKA in outpatient surgery centers. The purpose of this study was to compare the difference in functional scores and the incidence of complications after TKA between RA and osteoarthritis. The PubMed, MedLine, The Cochrane Library, Embase and Web of Science databases were searched for all clinical studies up to 15 March 2023 comparing outcomes after total knee replacement in patients with RA and OA, with two review authors independently screening the literature. A total of 7,820,115 (knee-counted) cases were included in 34 studies. The results of meta-analysis showed that the scores of the RA group were lower than that of the osteoarthritis group in the postoperative knee joint score [MD=-2.72,95%CI(-5.06,-0.38),P=0.02] and the postoperative knee joint function score [MD=-11.47,95%CI(-16.55,-6.39),P<0.00001], and the difference was statistically significant. The incidence of deep venous thrombosis (OR=0.84,95%CI(0.79,0.90),P<0.00001) and pulmonary embolism (OR=0.84,95%CI(0.78,0.91),P<0.00001) were significantly lower in RA than in osteoarthritis (P<0.00001). Compared with patients with osteoarthritis, patients with rheumatoid arthritis have lower knee society scores and functional scores after total knee arthroplasty, and a higher risk of prosthetic infection, loosening, and revision, but TKA can still effectively reduce pain in RA patients, Improve function and quality of life without increasing the risk of lower extremity venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Therefore, total knee replacement can be used as a treatment option for patients with rheumatoid arthritis who have not responded to conservative treatment. Patients should fully understand the benefits and possible risks of total knee replacement and develop an individualized treatment plan.

BACKGROUND: Epidemiological evidence suggests that there is an association between rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the causal relationship between RA and AD remains unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the causal relationship between RA and AD. METHODS: Using publicly available genome-wide association study datasets, bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization (TSMR) was performed using the inverse-variance weighted (IVW), weighted median, MRâEgger regression, simple mode, and weighted mode methods. RESULTS: The results of MR for the causal effect of RA on AD (IVW, odds ratio [OR] = 0.959, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.941-0.978, P = 2.752E-05; weighted median, OR = 0.960, 95% CI: 0.937-0.984, P = 0.001) revealed a causal association between genetic susceptibility to RA and an increased risk of AD. The results of MR for the causal effect of AD on RA (IVW, OR = 0.978, 95% CI: 0.906-1.056, P = 0.576; weighted median, OR = 0.966, 95% CI: 0.894-1.043, P = 0.382) indicated that there was no causal association between genetic susceptibility to AD and an increased risk of RA. CONCLUSIONS: The results of this two-way two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis revealed a causal association between genetic susceptibility to RA and a reduced risk of AD but did not reveal a causal association between genetic susceptibility to AD and an increased or reduced risk of RA.

Electrochemical synthesis of valuable chemicals and feedstocks through carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction in acidic electrolytes can surmount the considerable CO2 loss in alkaline and neutral conditions. However, achieving high productivity, while operating steadily in acidic electrolytes, remains a big challenge owing to the severe competing hydrogen evolution reaction. Here, we show that vertically grown bismuth nanosheets on a gas-diffusion layer can create numerous cavities as electrolyte reservoirs, which confine in situ-generated hydroxide and potassium ions and limit inward proton diffusion, producing locally alkaline environments. Based on this design, we achieve formic acid Faradaic efficiency of 96.3% and partial current density of 471 mA cm-2 at pH 2. When operated in a slim continuous-flow electrolyzer, the system exhibits a full-cell formic acid energy efficiency of 40% and a single pass carbon efficiency of 79% and performs steadily over 50 h. We further demonstrate the production of pure formic acid aqueous solution with a concentration of 4.2 weight %.
RESUMO
Recent developments in single-cell technology have enabled the exploration of cellular heterogeneity at an unprecedented level, providing invaluable insights into various fields, including medicine and disease research. Cell type annotation is an essential step in its omics research. The mainstream approach is to utilize well-annotated single-cell data to supervised learning for cell type annotation of new singlecell data. However, existing methods lack good generalization and robustness in cell annotation tasks, partially due to difficulties in dealing with technical differences between datasets, as well as not considering the heterogeneous associations of genes in regulatory mechanism levels. Here, we propose the scPML model, which utilizes various gene signaling pathway data to partition the genetic features of cells, thus characterizing different interaction maps between cells. Extensive experiments demonstrate that scPML performs better in cell type annotation and detection of unknown cell types from different species, platforms, and tissues.

Coal spontaneous combustion in the gob poses a significant threat to coal mining operations. Designing optimal process parameters for nitrogen injection to prevent and control fires efficiently is crucial. To achieve this, a multi-field coupling equation was established, considering the adsorption of coal to gas. The model's accuracy was verified on-site, and the effects of nitrogen injection at different locations and flow rates were simulated. The optimal injection parameters were determined by analyzing temperature and inerting time. The results showed that the coal spontaneous combustion hazardous zone in the gob tested on-site was consistent with the simulation from the perspective of physisorption. Nitrogen injection had three stages: gas expansion, rapid oxygen dilution, and complete inerting. The nitrogen injection effect presented a nonlinear change in injection location and flow rate. The optimal nitrogen injection location for the Tingnan Coal Mine in Shaanxi was determined to be 90 m behind the working face on the inlet side, with an optimal flow rate of 800 m3/min. This study focused on gas adsorption and offered valuable insights for creating high-efficiency fire-fighting techniques that involve inserting in the gob.

BACKGROUND: Subjective memory impairment (SMI) is common in older people. The aim of this study was to investigate the factors influencing SMI among older people in China, with specific focus on the interaction effect of midday napping duration and depressive symptoms on the risk of SMI. METHODS: Using a dataset representative of the Chinese population from a longitudinal study of health and retirement in China, subjects with SMI were screened using the question "how do you feel about your memory now?" and the Mini-Mental State Examination. A logistic regression model was applied to explore the factors affecting SMI. Additive and multiplicative models were used to analyze the interaction effect of midday napping duration and depressive symptoms on the risk of SMI. RESULTS: We enrolled 8,254 subjects included and the incidence of SMI was 63.9%. Depressive symptoms, nap time, and physical activity were influencing factors of SMI. Midday napping duration and depressive symptoms had positive additive interaction effects on the risk of SMI. When extended-length naps and depressive symptoms coexisted, the risk of SMI was 1.06 times greater than that for either alone (RERI, relative excess risk due to interaction = 0.27, 95% CI = 0.07-0.43; AP, attributable proportion = 0.14, 95% CI = 0.01-0.23; S, synergy index = 1.06, 95% CI = 0.57-1.62). When short naps and depressive symptoms coexisted, the risk of SMI was 1.2 times higher than that for either alone (RERI = 0.12, 95% CI=-0.14-0.39; AP = 0.13, 95% CI=-0.07-0.22; S = 1.20, 95% CI = 0.79-1.82). LIMITATIONS: Since this was a cross-sectional study, the cause-and-effect relationships between the associated variables cannot be inferred. CONCLUSIONS: The interaction effect that exists between nap time and depressive symptoms in older people is important for the identification and early intervention of people at risk for SMI.
