RESUMO

Targeted identification of essential proteins is of great significance for species identification, drug manufacturing, and disease treatment. It is a challenge to analyze the binding mechanism between essential proteins and improve the identification speed while ensuring the accuracy of the identification. This paper proposes a novel method called EPCRO for identifying essential proteins, which incorporates the chemical reaction optimization (CRO) algorithm and the naive Bayes model to effectively detect essential proteins. In EPCRO, the naive Bayes model is employed to analyze the homogeneity between proteins. In order to improve the identification rate and speed of essential proteins, the protein homogeneity rate is integrated into the CRO algorithm to balance between local and global searches. EPCRO is experimentally compared with 17 existing methods (including, DC, SC, IC, EC, LAC, NC, PeC, WDC, EPD-RW, RWHN, TEGS, CFMM, BSPM, AFSO-EP, CVIM, RWEP, and EPPSODC) based on biological datasets. The results show that EPCRO is superior to the above methods in identification accuracy and speed.

RESUMO

Access Control Lists (ACL) are critical to protecting network and cyber-physical systems. Traditional firewalls mostly use reactive methods to enforce ACLs, so that new ACL updates cannot take effect immediately. In this paper, based on our previous work, we propose CPACK, an intelligent cyber-physical access control kit, which uses a smart algorithm to upgrade the ACL list. CPACK adopts a proactive way to enforce ACL and reacts to a new ACL update and network view update in real time. We implement CPACK on both Floodlight and ONOS controller. We then conduct a large number of experiments to compare CPACK with the Floodlight firewall application. The experimental results show that CPACK has a better performance than the existing Floodlight firewall application. CPACK is also integrated into the new version of Floodlight and ONOS controller.

RESUMO

To alleviate the safety hazards associated with the use of epoxy resin (EP), a multifunctional filler was designed. This study firstly combines the superior mechanical properties of magnesium borate rods (MBR) with the excellent smoke suppression and flame-retardant characteristics of layered double hydroxide (LDH). H2PO4- intercalated LDH (LDHP) was coated on the MBR surface to obtain inorganic composite particles MBR@LDHP. Subsequently, MBR@LDHP was modified with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APES) to obtain organic-inorganic composite particles MBR@LDHP-APES. Eventually, the hybrid particles were added to EP to prepare the composite materials. Thereafter, the morphology, composition, and structure of MBR@LDHP-APES were characterized utilizing scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results indicated the successful preparation of MBR@LDHP-APES, after which we investigated the effects of MBR@LDHP-APES on the smoke suppression, flame retardancy, and mechanical characteristics of EP. As observed, the EP composites containing 7.5 wt% MBR@LDHP-APES exhibited superior smoke suppression and flame retardancy abilities. The limiting oxygen index reached 33.5%, which is 36.73% greater than pure EP, and the lowest values of total heat and smoke release were observed for the composite materials. In addition, the mechanical properties test revealed that MBR@LDHP-APES considerably enhanced the tensile strength as well as the flexural strength of the composites. Furthermore, mechanistic studies suggested that the barrier effect of MBR, endothermic decomposition of LDHP, and the synergistic effect of LDHP and APES contributed essentially to the smoke suppression and flame-retardant properties of the material. The findings of this research point to a potential method for enhancing the EP's ability to suppress smoke and flames while enhancing its mechanical properties.

RESUMO

Under the influence of additive white Gaussian noise, sparse representation cannot effectively remove noise associated with the polynomial phase signal (PPS) via most dictionary learning algorithms whose training data come from the noisy signal, such as K-SVD and RLS-DLA. In this paper, we present a novel dictionary learning algorithm based on secondary exponentially weighted moving average (SEWMA) to denoise PPS. In the proposed algorithm, we first estimate the signal-to-noise (SNR) of the PPS to set the optimal rate of a weighted decline using covariance matrix model. Second we use RLS-DLA to train the dictionary. Thirdly, SEWMA is used to refine atoms in the learned dictionary. In this way, the SNR of the reconstructed signal obtained using the proposed algorithm is clearly higher than that of other algorithms, whereas the mean squared error is lower than that of other algorithms. To obtain the optimal denoising performance, the optimal rate of a weighted decline is set based on the estimated SNR. Simulation results show that the proposed method outperforms the K-SVD, RLS-DLA in mean square error and the SNR.

RESUMO

A composite particle with hydrated alumina deposited on the surface of magnesium borate whisker (MBW@HA) was prepared following a chemical liquid deposition method. Subsequently, dodecyl dihydrogen phosphate (DDP) was grafted onto the surface of the composite particles to synthesize an inorganic-organic hybrid (MBW@HA-DDP). The structure, morphology, and composition of MBW@HA-DDP were well characterized. The results revealed the hybrid of MBW@HA-DDP was successfully synthesized characterized by a hydrophobic surface. Subsequently, the obtained MBW@HA-DDP was incorporated into epoxy resin (EP) to fabricate flame retardant composites. The results revealed that the incorporation of MBW@HA-DDP significantly improved the fire safety of EP, for instance, the total heat release (THR) and peak heat release rate (PHRR) of the EP composite with 10-phr MBW@HA-DDP added were reduced by 28.1% and 32.0%, respectively, accompanied with lower total smoke production (TSP) and smoke production rate (SPR). The improved fire safety was due to the barrier function of MBW and HA, and the dilution effect of water vapor generated from HA. Meanwhile, the phosphorus oxoacids generated from DDP could function as catalysts and increase the degree of graphitization of the char residues, thus protecting the matrix effectively. In relation to mechanical properties, the incorporation of MBW@HA-DDP did not deteriorate the mechanical properties of EP but improved them to some extent. The results presented herein help develop a novel strategy for developing flame retardants characterized by good flame-retardant behavior and improved mechanical properties.

RESUMO

In this paper, we first present a new concept of 'weight' for 64 triplets and define a different weight for each kind of triplet. Then, we give a novel 2D graphical representation for DNA sequences, which can transform a DNA sequence into a plot set to facilitate quantitative comparisons of DNA sequences. Thereafter, associating with a newly designed measure of similarity, we introduce a novel approach to make similarities/dissimilarities analysis of DNA sequences. Finally, the applications in similarities/dissimilarities analysis of the complete coding sequences of ß-globin genes of 11 species illustrate the utilities of our newly proposed method.

RESUMO

The aim of this work was to study the effect of ratio of substrate dosage to solid content (Sd/SC) on sewage sludge bioleaching. The inocula--indigenous sulfur-oxidizing bacteria were enriched and cultured from the fresh activated sludge to a wastewater treatment plant. The results showed that Sd/SC significantly influenced the sludge bioleaching process. With increase in Sd/SC the sludge bioleaching was enhanced, which was represented by the acceleration of sludge acidification, oxidizing environment formation, and substrate (sulfur) utilization. Higher Sd/SC was more efficient to solubilize the heavy metals and total phosphorus (TP) than lower Sd/SC, while total nitrogen (TN) release was not influenced by Sd/SC. Zinc and copper were efficiently bioleached because of sludge acidification and sludge oxidation, but lead was bioleached with a low efficiency because of the formation of low soluble PbSO(4) precipitates. After bioleaching the biotoxicity of sewage sludge greatly reduced.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To construct a platform for in silico elongation and batch analysis of Schistosoma japonicum (Sj) ESTs, acquire the potential novel genes and research the expression profile of the genes. METHODS: On the basis of Linux operating system and local ESTs database of Sj, the BLAST and PHRAP softwares were used to construct a program to achieve the elongation of ESTs. Stand-alone BLAST search against the nr database helped analyze the elongated sequence. After finishing the batch analysis script, the platform was used to research the Sj gene expression profile and acquire the potential novel genes. RESULTS: The platform showed satisfactory efficiency and fidelity. 487 elongated sequences obtained from 552 and 307 elongated sequences showed high homology within the nr database downloaded from NCBI. Furthermore, 104 elongated sequences displayed significant homology but showed no homology before elongated. 27 potential novel genes were filtered out. CONCLUSION: An effective platform for Sj ESTs data mining was accomplished and further information on the potential novel genes was acquired.
