Aim: To evaluate the efficacy of Neo-endo, Hyflextm retreatment file systems, and H-files for removing gutta-percha from root canal treated tooth. Materials and Methods: Thirty extracted single-rooted human teeth with a single canal were opted. The shaping of the root canals was done with pro-taper universal files and later obturated. The samples were grouped based on the file system chosen for removing the obturating material: Group I-H-files; Group II-Neo-endo retreatment files; Group III-Hyflex™ retreatment files. The quantity of remaining gutta-percha still present after the retreatment procedure was assessed under a stereomicroscope. One-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to statistically analyze the data. Results: Hyflex™ files left less remaining filling material than with Neo-endo and H-files. Conclusion: The Hyflex™ retreatment files were most efficient in removing the gutta-percha from the root canal.

Introduction: Comparative evaluation of the newly introduced; RACE EVO file system to the currently well-performing file systems like HyFlex EDM OneFile, Vortex Blue, ProTaper Gold (PTG) with regards to the cyclic fatigue resistance. Materials: &Methods.The endodontic rotary files under evaluation were segregated into four groups as follows:; RACE EVO, PTG, Vortex Blue, and HyFlex EDM OneFile. A detailed physical analysis of the cyclic fatigue resistance was performed in 15 files of each type (n = 60). Under the test conditions of 37 °C the test samples were subjected to continuous motion at the manufacturer recommended speed within an artificial curved canal until it fractured. For all the test samples, with the recording of time of fracture, calculation was done for number of cycles to fracture (NCF). In addition, the length of the fractured segment was determined. The fractured surface was further evaluated with scanning electron microscopic (SEM) images. Results: Highest significance for NCF was seen in HyFlex EDM OneFile followed by the Vortex Blue, PTG, and; RACE EVO (p < 0.05) by analyzing the data statistically. Significant differences among the lengths of the fractured segments were evident among tested files, ranging between 4.73 and 6.3 mm (p < 0.05) with HyFlex EDM OneFile uniquely differentiating from the others showing the fracture at 6.3 mm. The common features of cyclic fatigue failure was further substantiated by SEM images. Conclusions: Compared to the HyFlex EDM OneFile, Vortex Blue, and PTG files; RACE EVO demonstrated significantly lower resistance to cyclic fatigue.

Introduction Non-surgical retreatment is seen as a conservative choice for dealing with recurrent infections, instead of opting for periapical surgery. The retreatment processes should be promptly and efficiently carried out, utilizing a suitable armamentarium. The objective of this experiment is to evaluate the quantity of root dentin that remains following the removal of gutta-percha (GP) from the root canal employing two distinct retreatment files. Materials and methods Sixty single-rooted teeth were selected for the examination. The process of shaping and cleaning was performed using the step-back approach, with a master apical file size of 40. The smear layer was effectively eliminated by rinsing with a solution of 3% sodium hypochlorite and 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid. Paper points were employed to desiccate the canals. The obturation process involved the utilization of the lateral compaction technique with the AH Plus sealer (Dentsply Sirona, NC, USA). The teeth were classified into two groups: Group I (n=30) underwent retreatment using HyFlex Remover (Coletene India, Pvt., Ltd.), whereas Group II (n=30) received therapy with Solite RS3 retreatment files (Solite Dental in Chennai, India). The remaining dentin thickness (RDT) was assessed by cone beam computed tomography at levels 3, 6, and 9 mm from the cemento enamel junction after the removal of GP. The acquired data underwent examination using an independent t-test to determine statistical significance. Results The findings demonstrate that the utilization of Solite RS3 files led to a higher level of dentin thickness remaining at 3 mm, 6 mm, and 9 mm on the mesial side in comparison to HyFlex Remover retreatment files. The observed difference was found to be statistically significant at a significance level of p<0.05 on the mesial side. Nevertheless, there was no notable disparity seen between the two file types at these three levels on the distal side (p>0.05). Conclusion Based on the obtained results of the study, it can be concluded that Solite RS3 files show promise in preserving the RDT. However, further studies encompassing diverse parameters are needed to establish a conclusive and definitive conclusion.

BACKGROUND: Despite substantial breakthroughs in instrumentation systems and pharmaceutical interventions, pain following endodontic therapy remains a serious concern. The effect of the type of endodontic instrumentation system in post-operative pain after endodontic therapy has been a matter of debate. AIM: To evaluate different endodontic instrumentation systems, namely Reciproc (GmbH, Munich), OneShape® (MicroMega, France), Protaper Gold (Dentsply Sirona, USA), and Hyflex® EDM (Coltène/Whaledent Inc., USA) file systems, regarding post-operative pain after endodontic therapy Methods and materials: The endodontic department treated healthy patients aged 20 to 50 years who were experiencing symptoms of irreparable pulpitis in one or more maxillary molars or mandibular molars. Five hundred was the determined size of the sample. The study participants were divided into five categories, each comprising 100 participants. These categories were: Category 1: Reciproc instrumentation system. Category 2: OneShape® instrumentation system. Category 3: ProtaperGold instrumentation system. Category 4: HyFlex® EDM instrumentation system. Category 5: Control (stainless steel K-files). Following endodontic therapy, these scores were recorded at 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours using the VAS scale. RESULTS: The visual analog scale (VAS) score (mean±SD) in the control group was 0.73± 0.40 (<0.001). The VAS score in the Reciproc group was 0.43± 0.05 (<0.001). The VAS score in the OneShape® group was 0.36±0.09 (<0.001). The VAS score in the Protaper Gold group was 0.41 ±0.08 (<0.001). The VAS score in the HyFlex® EDM group was 0.55 ±0.02 (<0.001). The VAS score in all instrumentation techniques at 72 hours follow-up was lesser in comparison to a control group with meaningful statistical significance (<0.001). However, the post-operative pain among the Reciproc, OneShape®, Protaper Gold, and HyFlex® EDM instrumentation systems was not different clinically when compared among themselves. However, VAS values were greater in OneShape® and HyFlex® EDM compared to Reciproc and Protaper Gold, showing increased post-operative pain in OneShape and HyFlex® EDM compared to Reciproc and Protaper Gold. It was also observed that there was a decline in the VAS score in all instrumentation systems as the follow-up period increased from 6 hours to 72 hours, with maximum post-operative pain at 6 hours of follow-up and minimum post-operative pain at 72 hours of follow-up. However, the decline was lesser in OneShape® and HyFlex® EDM in comparison to Reciproc and Protaper Gold, with increased post-operative pain in OneShape® and HyFlex® EDM in comparison to Reciproc and Protaper Gold. CONCLUSION: Post-operative pain at all follow-ups of endodontic procedures was less in Reciproc, OneShape®, Protaper Gold, and HyFlex® EDM than in the control group. VAS scores were higher in the OneShape® and HyFlex® EDM groups compared to the Reciproc and Protaper Gold groups, indicating increased post-operative pain with OneShape® and HyFlex® EDM instruments in comparison to Reciproc and Protaper Gold.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: The initial size of a root canal is established by progressively introducing K-files according to the increase in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) size in the apical region. The initial file-fit sensation is caused by coronal interferences rather than always occurring at the apex, as is commonly believed. Flaring the canal at its earliest stages enables the practitioner to accurately assess the size of the canal approaching the apex. This enables more informed judgments on the selection of the master apical file required for shaping and cleaning the apex. The aim of this in vitro study is to examine the impact of cervical flaring on the first estimation of apical file size using three distinct rotary instruments. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Sixty-four extracted permanent maxillary first molars with a curvature of between 10° and 20° were chosen. Conventional access openings were made, and the precise length of the canal was determined, leaving it 1 mm short of the apex. The apical fit was deemed to have materialized when the largest file successfully reached the apex, and further progression beyond that depth was unattainable. An initial file that exhibited tactile resistance both before and following expansion at the designated working length (WL) was observed. The initial file that elicited a sensation of being securely attached was affixed using methacrylate into the root canal. A diamond sectioning disc was used to horizontally cut the apical 0.5 mm of the mesiobuccal root. This was done to expose the canal and the instrument at the WL. The uppermost portions were observed using a 3D optical profilometer, and digital photographs were captured for each sample. RESULTS: The occurrence of coronal interferences and the choice of instruments for flaring had a notable impact on the estimation of the initial apical file (IAF) size. The file size frequency was augmented following flaring using various rotary instruments, namely ProTaper, HyFlex CM, and Endoflare. Group 1, which did not undergo preflaring, exhibited the highest disparity of 257.3 ± 54.4. The variation was substantially different (p<0.01) from all the groups that underwent flaring. The use of HyFlex CM (group 3) for preflaring resulted in the smallest average difference (124.4 ± 29.6) between the maximum diameter of the canal at the apex and the diameter of the initial file used. Endoflare (group 4) exhibited the second lowest mean disparity (178.7 ± 46) between the maximum width of the apical root canal and the diameter of the IAF, with the ProTaper group (211 ± 43.5) following closely behind. Nevertheless, there was no statistically significant discrepancy observed in the average differences between groups 2 and 4 (ProTaper and Endoflare groups, respectively). CONCLUSION: Coronal preflaring significantly contributes to minimizing the variation between the IAF and the diameter of the apical canal. Prior coronal expansion using rotary files enables a more precise identification of the IAF. The choice of equipment used for flaring affects the estimation of the IAF size.

This study presents a HyFlex Clinical Supervision Model supported by a Learning Management System (LMS). The model is designed to facilitate a seamless transition from face-to-face to remote education, particularly in unforeseen circumstances such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The primary aim is to understand the mode preferences of teacher candidates for various aspects of the teaching process, including receiving feedback on lesson plans, structuring teaching sessions, observation, being observed, and receiving feedback after teaching sessions during mentoring activities. The study included 58 fourth-year teacher candidates who were enrolled in English Language Teaching departments across six state universities in five regions in Turkey. Data was collected through an online questionnaire using Google Forms and interviews conducted via Zoom. The study uncovered diverse preferences among teacher candidates with regards to teaching sessions, observation methods, and feedback. The HyFlex clinical supervision model proposed is adaptable to both traditional and remote practicum settings.

Aims: The aim of this in vitro study was to compare the cyclic fatigue resistance of three different endodontic nickel-titanium rotary instruments using a dynamic testing device. Materials and Methods: Ten files each of ProTaper Gold (PG), Hyflex Electro-discharge Machining (HEDM), and TruNatomy (TN) were tested in a custom-fabricated dynamic cyclic fatigue testing device at 60° curvature having a radius of curvature of 5 mm. The number of cycles to the fracture (NCF) of each instrument was calculated and three continuous groups were compared by the Kruskal-Wallis test and Dunn post hoc test was used for pairwise comparison. Results: Cyclic fatigue resistance of HEDM was the highest, followed by TN. PG had the lowest among the three. Conclusion: Within the limitations of the present in vitro results, it can be concluded that HEDM files appeared to be suitable for shaping complex canals with the greater number of cycles before it fractures.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the amount of remaining filing material and apical debris extrusion after retreatment using Reciproc Blue, Hyflex EDM and ProTaper Retreatment Files. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Thirty-six extracted permanent mandibular first molars with moderately curved mesial roots were selected. Mesiobuccal canals were prepared using the ProTaper Next system up to size X2 and filled using gutta-percha and Adseal sealer via cold lateral compaction. Teeth were randomly divided into three equal groups (n = 12): Group 1: Reciproc Blue (RB)(VDW, Germany), Group 2: Hyflex EDM (HEDM)(Coltene/Whaledent, Switzerland), Group 3: ProTaper Universal Retreatment file system + ProTaper Next file system (PTUR + PTN)( Dentsply Maillefer, Switzerland). Eppendorf tubes were used to collect the apically extruded debris. Cone-beam computed tomographic scans were taken prior to and after retreatment and the volume of remaining filling material was assessed at the coronal, middle and apical levels. Statistical analysis was performed using the Kruskal-Wallis test, Friedman's test and Wilcoxon Sign Rank test. Significance level was set at p value 0.05. RESULTS: There were no statistically significant differences among the three groups in the reduction of the volume of the filling material or in the amount of apically extruded debris. CONCLUSION: All the tested filing systems showed similar efficacy in removing the filling material, however, none of them could achieve its complete removal. Apical extrusion of debris occurred with all the systems used with no significant difference between the three groups.

Aim: The aim of this study was to assess and compare the influence of the presence of full-coverage crown on the obturation material removal efficiency of different retreatment file systems. Materials and Methods: Sixty extracted, human, maxillary premolars were accessed, instrumented, and obturated with gutta-percha and AH Plus sealer. The samples were scanned with cone-beam computed tomography and volume of obturating material was measured using ITK-SNAP volumetric software. Samples were divided (n = 30) into with and without all metal full-coverage crown groups. Each group was then subdivided into three subgroups (n = 10) based on retreatment file used (ProTaper URS, HyFlex Remover, and NeoEndo). The volume of remnants of obturating material was remeasured by image segmentation using ITK-SNAP volumetric software. One-way analysis of variance, followed by the Tukey's post hoc test, was used for data analysis, with a significance level of 5%. Results: A significant difference in percentage remnant of obturating material after retreatment file was observed on overall comparison between with (29.84%) and without crown (21.79%) groups (P < 0.05). Each file system removed significantly more obturating material in without crown samples than with crown samples (P < 0.05). The percentage remnant of obturating material after retreatment file use was as follows: ProTaper URS > NeoEndo retreatment file > HyFlex Remover. All file systems showed significantly different (P < 0.05) efficiency in removal of obturating material. Conclusions: None of the retreatment file systems were able to remove obturating material completely. The presence of full-coverage crown negatively impacted the efficiency of retreatment files for the removal of obturating material. HyFlex Remover performed better than NeoEndo which was better than ProTaper URS.

Background and Objectives: The aim of this study was to see the incidence of cracks in root dentin after coronal flaring using various rotary instruments such as Gates Glidden (GG) drills, ProTaper Universal SX, OneFlare, and HyFlex EDM. Materials and Methods: Seventy freshly extracted premolar teeth with single canal were collected. All the teeth were randomly divided into five groups of fourteen each (n = 14), of which one group served as the control and the rest of the four groups were instrumented with GG drills, ProTaper Universal SX, OneFlare, and HyFlex EDM, respectively. Results: The GG drills resulted in a higher rate of crack formation in root dentin (P < 0.05) than the ProTaper Universal SX, OneFlare, and HyFlex EDM instruments (P > 0.05). Conclusion: The use of GG drills resulted in more crack formation. However, the results for the ProTaper Universal SX, OneFlare, and HyFlex EDM flaring instruments were less in terms of crack formation.

The aim of this study was to compare the cyclic fatigue resistance of nickel-titanium instruments inside single and double-curved canals at different temperatures. 160 HyFlex EDM #20.05 (HEDM), VDW.ROTATE #20.05 and #25.06, Mtwo #25.06 were randomised (n = 10) for the dynamic cyclic fatigue tests according to the curvature (i.e. single and double) at 20° ± 1°C and 35° ± 1°C. The number of cycles to fracture (NCF) was analysed by two-way ANOVA with p < 0.05. Fatigue resistance of all instruments significantly decreased at body temperature in single and double curvatures, except for HEDM in double curvature. The NCF was significantly lower in double curvature than single at both temperatures for all files, except for VDW.ROTATE #20.05 at 35° ± 1°C. Within the study limitations, temperature significantly impaired cyclic fatigue resistance of all files except HEDM #20.05 in double curvature. Similarly, double curvature had a detrimental effect on cyclic fatigue resistance of all files except for VDW.ROTATE #20.05 at body temperature.

Aim The aim of this study was to compare the amount of debris produced apically during the removal of root canal obturating material by using various files in extracted teeth with simulated apical root resorption. Materials and methods An in vitro study was conducted in the root canals of 90 extracted mandibular premolar teeth that were prepared with a ProTaper Gold rotary file (Dentsply Maillefer, Ballaigues, Switzerland) and filled with gutta-percha and an AH Plus sealer (Dentsply Maillefer, Ballaigues, Switzerland) using a cold lateral compaction technique. A total of 45 mandibular premolar teeth were randomly assigned to three control groups (i.e., the ProTaper Universal retreatment file (Dentsply Maillefer), the Reciproc Blue file (VDW, Munich, Germany), and the HyFlex Remover file (Coltene/Whaledent, Altstatten, Switzerland) for the removal of root canal filling material, whereas the remaining 45 teeth were treated as the experimental group and their apical portion was modified to simulate apical root resorption. The teeth of this experimental group were randomly divided into three subgroups according to the same three techniques used with the control groups for the removal of root canal filling materials. The apically extruded debris was collected into pre-weighed borosilicate glass tubes and then dried. The mean weight of the apically extruded debris was assessed using an analytical balance to an accuracy of 10-4 g. Further, the data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test and Tukey's post hoc test. Results In the simulated apical root resorption groups, all file systems were associated with significantly more debris extrusion than the groups without simulated root resorption (a < 0.05). In both the control groups and experimental groups, the ProTaper Universal retreatment file was associated with the least weight of the apically extruded debris (a < 0.05), followed by the Reciproc Blue file and the HyFlex Remover file. Conclusion The amount of debris extruded apically was significantly greater in the teeth with simulated apical root resorption than in those without it. Further, during the removal of the root canal filling materials, HyFlex Remover was associated with significantly more apically extruded debris in all groups.

Aim: The aim of this study was to assess and compare the quantity of apically debris which was extruded apically by TruNatomy (TN), ProTaper Next (PTN), HyFlex electric discharge machining (EDM), and HyFlex controlled memory (CM), following root canal preparation. Materials and Methods: Sixty extracted single-canal mandibular premolars were used. The root canal preparation was done with TN, HyFlex EDM, PTN, or HyFlex CM files. The preweight debris, which was extruded apically, was collected in the Eppendorf tube and later on incubated at 670°C for 3 days and weighed again to record the extruded debris. Results: The result showed that there was a significant reduction in debris extrusion by TN system, followed by PTN system, HyFlex EDM, and maximum extrusion in HyFlex CM (P < 0.05). Between the PTN and TN groups as well as between the HyFlex EDM and HyFlex CM groups, statistically significant difference was not observed (P > 0.05). Conclusion: Apical debris extrusion is the inherent nature of the all file systems. Nevertheless, the TN file system produced substantially minimum debris extrusion among other systems compared in the study.

AIM: This study set out to compare the damage done to dentin by three distinct titanium file brands - the Hyflex EDM, the ProTaper Next, and the Waveone Gold Nickel - in order to draw conclusions about which one is the most effective. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Forty-first premolars in the mandible with straight canals and single roots were instrumented using Hyflex EDM, Waveone Gold, and Protaper Next. Dentinal flaws after endodontic treatment were studied by sectioning specimens using a hard tissue microtome and analyzing them under a stereomicroscope. RESULTS: There was no discernible variation between the groups in the coronal third (p=0.312) or apical third (p=0.076). Hyflex EDM and Protaper Next differed significantly in the middle portion of the tape (p=0.016). The Hyflex EDM sample had the fewest cracks. There was no statistically significant difference between Hyflex EDM and Waveone Gold; however, Hyflex EDM had fewer fractures in the middle third of the sample than Waveone Gold did. CONCLUSION: Electric discharge machining (EDM) files made from Hyflex proved to be far superior to their Protaper Next and Waveone Gold counterparts as they induced the fewest cracks in the middle third of the root dentin.

HyFlex learning environments have been meeting the unique needs of students and institutions for nearly 20 years. However, it was the pandemic that gave HyFlex its widespread acceptance and application. Literature suggests that HyFlex may now be considered part of the new norm in education and therefore, further study is needed on how it affects both teaching and learning. Our flipped design thinking course leverages active learning requiring the instructor and students to interact extensively. We piloted a specific version of HyFlex we named "Interactive Synchronous HyFlex" where students can participate on a daily basis in person or synchronously online. In this specific instance of HyFlex we explore: (1) Does student academic performance differ in the HyFlex environment compared to the Face to Face only environment? And (2) Does student academic performance differ based on how they chose to participate in the HyFlex course? Data were collected for this quasi-experimental study design on overall semester grades and three significant design projects during the semester. We compared the course offered as a Face to Face only experience to the course offered as a HyFlex course enabling remote participation. Second, we parse students in the HyFlex course into two categories: those who did not participate remotely vs. those who participated remotely once or more times. Students in the HyFlex course had a significantly different grade distribution earning more A's and more F's than their Face to Face only counterparts. Given the positive results of the Interactive Synchronous HyFlex approach, we plan to continue implementing it in our introductory design course though we will increase our attention on the remote students as they may need additional scaffolding to be successful.

At a public, 4-year, open access university, students were given the choice of how they would attend class: face-to-face, online, or livestream (synchronous session in Microsoft Teams®). The 876 students in this study registered in course sections designated as face-to-face delivery yet were provided attendance flexibility due to the pandemic. This unique situation provided a research opportunity to explore the self-regulatory, motivational, and contextual factors that affected students' attendance choices as well as their academic outcomes (pass/withdrawal) and perceptions of satisfaction. Results showed that 70% of students took advantage of the opportunity to flex and strongly valued the convenience, choice, and time savings. They were satisfied with connections to instructors. They were less satisfied with connections to peers, fluency between attendance modes, and technology performance. Generally, students performed well in the HyFlex courses with pass rates and withdrawal rates of 88% and 2%, respectively, for both Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 terms. The students who were most likely to flex were first year students who lived more than 15 miles from campus; first year students comprised a disproportionately large portion of those who failed. Self-regulatory and motivational factors were explored in relation to attendance decisions. Besides COVID-related issues and work/life balance, a sizable percentage (13%) of students explained their attendance decisions in terms of quality of their learning and in this way demonstrated self-regulation. Motivation was an issue for 17% of the students, typically expressed as not attending in the way they learned best or skipping class.

Introduction: A special heat-treated endodontic file (TruNatomy) was recently introduced with the claim of superior flexibility to enhance dentin preservation. The aim of the present study was to assess postoperative pain in single-visit root canal treatment with this newly introduced file, comparing it with other contemporary reciprocating and rotary file systems. Materials and Methods: One hundred seventy patients with acute irreversible pulpitis in maxillary premolars were randomly assigned to four experimental file systems: TruNatomy, HyFlex EDM, EdgeFile, and ProTaper Gold. Pre- and postoperative pain scores were assessed with 10-point visual analog scale. Data were statistically analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: TruNatomy file system had significantly the highest postoperative pain incidence (53.8%), while the EdgeFile system had significantly the least postoperative pain incidence (24%) and 24-h pain score. Conclusion: The present study demonstrated that the reciprocating multiple-file system, EdgeFile, had significantly reduced postoperative pain incidence compared to other heat-treated rotary nickel-titanium file systems.

BACKGROUND: The core principle of HyFlex ('hybrid' and 'flexible') learning is to maintain learning equity under most circumstances. Within a blended framework in precision medical education, how different preferences of synchronous learning environment influence learning process and outcome is limited. We investigated students' preclass online video learning experiences and their choices toward synchronous class formats. METHODS: This was a mixed-methods study. During the 2021 academic year, all 5th-year medical students who had viewed online video clips presenting core concepts were asked to complete a survey on their preference for future synchronous class format (face-to-face, online, or HyFlex) and asked to provide reflective comments on their self-learning. Anonymous survey data, online records, and summative assessment scores (short-term learning outcomes) were collected. Kruskal - Wallis or Chi-square tests were used to compare differences between groups, and multiple linear regression was managed to select the factors associated with various choices. The students' comments were coded in a descriptive thematic analysis. RESULTS: Among 152 medical students, 150 responded to the questionnaires, and 109 provided comments. Medical students spent a median of 32 min online, significantly shorter in the face-to-face group than in the online and HyFlex groups. The online group had a lower preclass video completion rate for certain concepts. The choice was not associated with short-term learning outcomes. Student feedback revealed a higher frequency of multiple themes for each student in the face-to-face and HyFlex groups, and these themes fell into the categories of learning efficiency, focus concentration, and course attractiveness. CONCLUSIONS: Linking the choice of the class format and learning experiences of preclass online videos sheds light on a step further within a blended framework of precision medical education. Supplement of online interactive elements may help secure learning engagement among students choosing 'online only' class format of HyFlex learning.

BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of K-type stainless steel hand instruments (Mani Inc. ), Fanta AF™ Ledge Correction (LC) (Fanta Dental), and Hyflex EDM (Coltene-Whaledent) for ledge correction, canal transport, centric ability, and shaping (preparation) time after an artificial ledge has been bypassed manually in highly curved canals using acrylic blocks. METHODS: Forty-two resin blocks, each with a radius of 5 mm (Endo Trainer Block, VDW) and an apical inclination of 55°, were used. Under stereomicroscope magnification, standard artificial ledges were created on acrylic blocks, and attempts were then made to eliminate them using hand instruments, FantaAF™ LC, and Hyflex EDM. Before and after images were obtained using a stereomicroscope and compared using Photoshop. RESULTS: Fanta AF™ LC and Hyflex EDM were found to be more effective for correcting ledges than hand instruments. The use of hand instruments resulted in the greatest transportation away from the canal curvature in the apical area. The canal shaping was completed in the shortest amount of time using Fanta AF™ LC, followed by HyFlex EDM and then the hand instruments. CONCLUSION: In terms of centric ability, the order from best to worst is as follows: Fanta AF™ LC, Hyflex EDM, and hand instruments. After the ledge was manually bypassed with hand instruments in the root canals, Hyflex EDM and Fanta AF™ LC were found to be more effective than hand instruments in reshaping the previously unreachable region between the ledge and the foramen apical.

This study analyzed how students' personality traits and course attendance preferences impact academic integrity in the HyFlex learning environment. 535 undergraduate students were given a choice among courses face-to-face (F2F), online, or a hybrid combination of both. The Big Five Inventory and the Academic Integrity Inventory were administered through online questionnaires to STEM students. The findings show that emotional stability and agreeableness positively relate to academic integrity irrespective of attendance mode. So do conscientiousness and agreeableness in the hybrid environment. Conversely, the primarily F2F attendance mode and the personality trait of extraversion are tied to markedly low levels of academic integrity. We conclude that unveiling students' personality traits associated with ethical behaviour would be beneficial when designing HyFlex courses in different learning environments, whether human (F2F), machine-made (online) or a combination of both (hybrid). This, in turn, contributes to better higher quality education and enhances academic integrity.
