RESUMO

Artificial intelligence (AI) is not intelligent in the human meaning-AI works on the basis of algorithms created by humans and the results of AI are based on real-world data. AI is regulated by all legal frameworks that also apply in other scenarios, in particular data protection law and medical device law. AI delivers results that are as good as the database that formed the learning content of the AI enables. If, for example, the data on which the AI is based contain discrimination, this discrimination is "learned" by the AI; since the AI does not really think, the AI cannot reflect its own results either-it can only make a comparison within the parameters of the specifications by the software developers. If AI is used, the question of the algorithms implemented and the database on which the decision is based must therefore be clarified beforehand and a check must be carried out based on this to determine whether the AI is suitable for use. Due to the missing possibility of real human thinking, AI cannot replace physicians, but can assist them in their daily work.

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo en la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de Holguín, desde enero del 2017 hasta igual periodo del 2018, con vistas a caracterizar el proceso de evaluación final de la disciplina Informática Médica correspondiente al plan de estudio D para el desarrollo de habilidades investigativas en los estudiantes de medicina. El universo estuvo constituido por los resultados del trabajo final de las asignaturas Informática, Bioestadística y Metodología; la muestra, por los 40 trabajos finales de Metodología de la Investigación que tuvieron mayores dificultades en el informe escrito y 16 profesores de Informática Médica. Se utilizó la revisión documental, la observación y la entrevista. Se calcularon valores absolutos y porcentajes. Los resultados del trabajo final mostraron excelente promoción. El indicador defensa resultó el de mayor dificultad con 60,0 por ciento de los trabajos evaluados de regular y mal. La evaluación final contribuyó al desarrollo de la habilidad investigativa.


A descriptive study was carried out in Holguín Medical Sciences Faculty, from January, 2017 to the same period in 2018, with the aim of characterizing the process of final evaluation of the Medical Computer discipline corresponding to the study plan D for the development of investigative skills in the medicine students. The universe was constituted by the results of the final work of the subjects Computer science, Biostatistics and Methodology; the sample was constituted by the 40 final works of Methodology of Investigation which had the greatest difficulties in the written report and by 16 professors of Medical Computer science. The documental review, observation and interview were used. Absolute values and percentages were calculated. The results of the final work showed excellent promotion. The indicator defense was that of greatest difficulty with 60.0 percent of the evaluated works as average and poor. The final evaluation contributed to the development of the investigative skill.

RESUMO

When using multiple IT systems, handling of passwords in a secure manner means a potential source of problem. The most frequent issues are choosing the appropriate length and complexity, and then remembering the strong passwords. Password manager software provides a good solution for this problem, while greatly increasing the security of sensitive medical data. This article introduces a password manager software and provides basic information of the application. It also discusses how to select a really secure password manager software and suggests a practical application to efficient, safe and comfortable use for health care. Orv. RESUMO

Doctors, nurses and other medical professionals are spending more and more time in front of the computer, using applications developed for general practitioners, specialized care, or perhaps an integrated hospital system. The data they handle during healing and patient care are mostly sensitive data and, therefore, their management is strictly regulated. Finding our way in the jungle of laws, regulations and policies is not simple. Notwithstanding, our lack of information does not waive our responsibility. This study summarizes the most important points of international recommendations, standards and legal regulations of the field, as well as giving practical advices for managing medical and patient data securely and in compliance with the current legal regulations.
