RESUMO

An upside-down stomach is a rare type of hiatal hernia. An 83-year-old woman presented to the emergency room with abdominal pain and vomiting. Computed tomography revealed an upside-down stomach and the incarceration of a part of the gastric body into the abdominal cavity. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy revealed a circular ulcer caused by gastric ischemia. Although she was discharged after 1 week of conservative therapy, she was readmitted to the hospital 1 day after discharge because of a recurrence of hiatal hernia incarceration. She underwent laparoscopic surgery 4 days after readmission and recovered successfully.

Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome (EGUS) occurs with variable prevalence in horses, donkeys, and mules. Due to the particularities of the mucous membranes, the syndrome is made up of Squamous Gastric Disease (ESGD) and Glandular Gastric Disease (EGGD). Given the multifactorial nature and multiple classification systems of the syndrome, significant differences have been reported between prevalence studies performed ante mortem, which are even more remarkable when compared with postmortem evaluations. This study aimed to determine the presence and grade of squamous gastric disease in horses, donkeys and mules immediately after slaughter. The postmortem examination considered the inspection of the squamous region (cardia, dorsal fundus, and margo plicatus) and the classification of the observed lesions. The general prevalence of ESGD in the entire population of study was 83.3 % (78 %, 89 %, and 83 % for horses, donkeys, and mules, respectively), compromising the margo plicatus in all cases. 75 % had more than 5 lesions and 50 % had deep lesions, lesions of varying severity and/or evidence of recent/active bleeding. The prevalence of ESGD was similar in horses, donkeys, and mules subjected to similar handling conditions prior to slaughter, including long-distance traveling, fasting, and stress factors.

Purpose: Proximal gastrectomy is an alternative to total gastrectomy (TG) for early gastric cancer (EGC) treatment in the upper stomach. However, its benefits in terms of perioperative and long-term outcomes remain controversial. The aim of this study was to compare the perioperative, body compositional, nutritional, and survival outcomes of patients undergoing proximal gastrectomy with double-tract reconstruction (PG-DTR) and TG for pathological stage I gastric cancer in upper stomach. Materials and Methods: The study included 506 patients who underwent gastrectomy for pathological stage I gastric cancer in the upper stomach between 2015 and 2019. Clinicopathological, perioperative, body compositional, nutritional, and survival outcomes were compared between the PG-DTR and TG groups. Results: The PG-DTR and TG groups included 197 (38.9%) and 309 (61.1%) patients, respectively. The PG-DTR group had a lower rate of early complications (p=0.041), lower diagnosis rate of anemia and vitamin B12 deficiency (all p<0.001), and lower replacement rate of iron and vitamin B12 compared to TG group (all p<0.001). The PG-DTR group showed reduced incidence of sarcopenia at 6-months postoperatively, preserved higher amount of visceral fat after surgery (p=0.032 and p=0.040, respectively), and showed a higher hemoglobin level (p=0.007). Oncologic outcomes were comparable between the groups. Conclusion: The PG-DTR for EGC located in the upper stomach offered advantages of fewer complications, lower incidence of anemia and vitamin B12 deficiency, less decrease in visceral fat volume, and similar survival compared to TG. Consequently, PG-DTR may be considered a superior alternative treatment option to TG.

PURPOSE: Textbook outcome is a comprehensive measure used to assess surgical quality and is increasingly being recognized as a valuable evaluation tool. Delta-shaped anastomosis (DA), an intracorporeal gastroduodenostomy, is a viable option for minimally invasive distal gastrectomy in patients with gastric cancer. This study aims to evaluate the surgical outcomes and calculate the textbook outcome of DA. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In this retrospective study, the records of 4,902 patients who underwent minimally invasive distal gastrectomy for DA between 2009 and 2020 were reviewed. The data were categorized into three phases to analyze the trends over time. Surgical outcomes, including the operation time, length of post-operative hospital stay, and complication rates, were assessed, and the textbook outcome was calculated. RESULTS: Among 4,505 patients, the textbook outcome is achieved in 3,736 (82.9%). Post-operative complications affect the textbook outcome the most significantly (91.9%). The highest textbook outcome is achieved in phase 2 (85.0%), which surpasses the rates of in phase 1 (81.7%) and phase 3 (82.3%). The post-operative complication rate within 30 d after surgery is 8.7%, and the rate of major complications exceeding the Clavien-Dindo classification grade 3 is 2.4%. CONCLUSIONS: Based on the outcomes of a large dataset, DA can be considered safe and feasible for gastric cancer.

PURPOSE: We conducted a randomized prospective trial (KLASS-07 trial) to compare laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy (LADG) and totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy (TLDG) for gastric cancer. In this interim report, we describe short-term results in terms of morbidity and mortality. METHODS AND METHODS: The sample size was 442 participants. At the time of the interim analysis, 314 patients were enrolled and randomized. After excluding patients who did not undergo planned surgeries, we performed a modified per-protocol analysis of 151 and 145 patients in the LADG and TLDG groups, respectively. RESULTS: The baseline characteristics, including comorbidity status, did not differ between the LADG and TLDG groups. Blood loss was somewhat higher in the LADG group, but statistical significance was not attained (76.76±72.63 vs. 62.91±65.68 mL; P=0.087). Neither the required transfusion level nor the operation or reconstruction time differed between the 2 groups. The mini-laparotomy incision in the LADG group was significantly longer than the extended umbilical incision required for specimen removal in the TLDG group (4.79±0.82 vs. 3.89±0.83 cm; P<0.001). There were no between-group differences in the time to solid food intake, hospital stay, pain score, or complications within 30 days postoperatively. No mortality was observed in either group. CONCLUSIONS: Short-term morbidity and mortality rates did not differ between the LADG and TLDG groups. The KLASS-07 trial is currently underway. The objectives were to determine the interactive effect of particle size of soyabean meal (SBM) and whole wheat, barley and wheat bran (CER) on growth performance of weanling pigs after an enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli F4 challenge (Experiment 1) and on gastrointestinal (GIT) development immediately after weaning (Experiment 2). Experiment 1 consisted of 192 pigs (24 ± 3 days of age; 7.4 ± 1.1 kg weaning bodyweight [BW]) selected for Escherichia coli (E. coli) F4 susceptibility. Pigs were given an oral E. coli inoculum at postweaning day 7, to induce an enteric health challenge. Experiment 2 consisted of 40 pigs (24 ± 3 days of age; 7.2 ± 1.0 kg weaning BW) that were killed on postweaning day 8 or 9, to determine the effects of particle size on GIT development and functionality. Four experimental diets were used in a 2 × 2 factorial design: (1) coarse CER and coarse SBM, (2) coarse CER and fine SBM (CERcSBMf), (3) fine CER and coarse SBM, or (4) fine CER and fine SBM (CERfSBMf). Results showed no interaction between SBM and CER coarseness on growth performance, GIT development and functionality. Diarrhoea incidence was higher (p < 0.05) for CERfSBMf during the 2 weeks following the E. coli challenge compared to the other diets. Daily gain and feed intake during this period were higher (p < 0.05) for pigs fed CERc compared to CERf. Empty stomach weight tended to be greater by 8% (p = 0.09) for CERc compared to CERf. Gastric protein (p = 0.05) and starch (p = 0.04) disappearances were greater for SBMf compared to SBMc. Thus, CERcSBMf resulted in the best growth performance and lowest diarrhoea incidence during the 2 weeks following the E. coli challenge, which may be explained by changes in stomach functionality but not by changes in other parts of the GIT.

Certain long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have potential peptide-coding abilities. Here, the role and molecular basis of the RNF217-AS1-encoded peptide in stomach cancer (SC) tumorigenesis were explored. Here, lncRNAs associated with SC pathogenesis and macrophage infiltration and lncRNAs with peptide-coding potential were searched by bioinformatics analysis. The gene mRNA and protein levels were examined by RT-qPCR and western blot assays, respectively. Cell viability, migratory, and invasive abilities were measured by CCK-8, Transwell migration, and Transwell invasion assays, respectively. The potential biological processes related to lncRNA RNF217-AS1 were identified by single-gene GSEA analysis. The effect of RNF217-AS1-encoded peptide on SC tumorigenesis was examined by mouse xenograft experiments. The results showed that lncRNA NR2F1-AS1 and RNF217-AS1 were differentially expressed and associated with macrophage infiltration in SC, and they had the ability to translate into short peptides. The RNF217-AS1 ORF-encoded peptide could reduce SC cell viability, inhibit cell migration and invasion, as well as hinder the development of SC xenograft tumors. The RNF217-AS1 ORF-encoded peptide in human SC AGS cells suppressed THP-1 cell migration, triggered the differential expression of CXCL1/CXCL2/CXCL8/CXCL12, and inactivated the TLR4/NF-κB/STAT1 signaling pathways. As a conclusion, the RNF217-AS1 ORF-encoded peptide hindered SC progression in vitro and in vivo and suppressed macrophage recruitment and pro-inflammatory responses in SC.

BACKGROUND: Publications report that all mammals have two omenta, namely, lesser omentum and greater omentum. Basically, these organs, which share the same name except for the adjective "lesser" or "greater," should not differ from each other. However, no clear description of the structure of the lesser omentum, as well as comparative morphological analysis between the lesser and greater omenta have been found in the literature, which necessitates a thorough investigation. Therefore, the aim of our study was to analyze the morphofunctional differences between the greater and lesser omenta in albino rats. METHOD: The experiment involved 20 mature male albino rats, weighing 298,28±7,36 grams. The material for our study were preparations of lesser and greater omenta, fixed in 10 % of neutral buffered formalin. Paraffin sections were stained with hematoxylin-eosin and Van Gieson stain. RESULTS: The findings of the study showed that the greater omentum in albino rats, unlike other derivatives of the omentum (ligaments and mesenteries), represents a free extension (mostly from the greater curvature of the stomach), in the form of an "apron," into a specific depth of the peritoneal cavity, duplicating the serous membrane. This duplication is characterized by the composition of two structurally interdependent formations. These include vascular-fatty arcades, associated with lymphoid nodules known as milky spots, and binding serous-reticular membranes. The findings of the study of the lesser omentum have established that in all cases it is located beneath the liver and becomes visualized only after hepatolifting. It is presented in the form of two ligaments: hepatoduodenal and hepatogastric, which contain two main structured formations, which we called vascular-fatty spurs, between these spurs, serous-reticular membranes are located. CONCLUSION: despite having similar names, the lesser omentum, a derivative of the peritoneum, is fundamentally different. As it is well known, the lesser omentum is represented by ligaments that extend from the liver hilus to the lesser curvature of the stomach and the duodenum. Due to this arrangement, the lesser omentum lacks the mobile activity characteristic of the greater omentum, which plays a crucial role in rapid response to damage in the gastrointestinal tract. Despite sharing the same names, both formations differ in shape, morphological structure, development and function.

Background: Tumor deposits (TD) was a significant risk factor impacting the prognosis of patients diagnosed with gastric cancer (GC), yet it was not currently incorporated into TNM staging systems. The objective of this research was to develop a predictive model for assessing the prognosis of patients with TD-positive GC. Methods: Retrospective analysis was performed on the data of 4,972 patients treated for GC with D2 radical gastrectomy at Wannan Medical College's Yijishan Hospital between January 2012 and December 2021. The patients were categorized based on the number of TD (L1: 1, L2: 2-3, L3: ≥4) and the anatomical location of TD (Q1: single area, Q2: multiple areas). In a 3:1 ratio, patients were randomly assigned to one of two groups: training or validation. Results: The study included a total of 575 patients who were divided into the training group (n = 432) and validation group (n = 143). Survival analysis showed that the number and anatomical location of TD had a significant impact on the prognosis of patients with TD-positive GC. Univariate analysis of the training group data revealed that tumor size, T-stage, N-stage, histological grade, number and distribution of TD, neural invasion, and postoperative chemotherapy were associated with prognosis. Multivariate Cox regression analysis identified poor histological grade, T4 stage, N3 stage, number of TD, neural invasion, and postoperative chemotherapy as independent prognostic factors for GC patients with TD. A nomogram was developed using these variables, demonstrating well predictive ability for 1, 3, and 5-year overall survival (OS) in the validation set. The DCA curve shows that the constructed model shows a large positive net gain compared to the eighth edition Tumour, Node, Metastasis (TNM) staging system. Conclusion: The prognostic model developed for patients with TD-positive GC has a higher clinical utility compared to the eighth edition of TNM staging.

BACKGROUND: Recent studies have confirmed that Copines-1 (CPNE1) is associated with many malignancies. However, the role of CPNE1 in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) is currently unclear. METHODS: TIMER2.0, TCGA, UALCAN databases were used to investigate the expression of CPNE1 in STAD and normal tissues. KM-plotter database was used to explore the relationship between CPNE1 expression and prognosis in STAD. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) was used to assess the protein levels of CPNE1 in both normal and cancer tissues, as well as to confirm the prognostic significance of CPNE1. In order to assess the viability of CPNE1 as a divider, the Recipient Operating Characteristics (ROC) curve was employed and the assessment based on the AUC score (below the curve). To investigate the potential function of CPNE1, correlation analysis and enrichment analysis were performed with the clusterProfiler package in R software. The CPNE1 binding protein network was constructed by STRING and GeneMANIA. The relationship between methylation and prognosis was explored by Methsurv database. The Genomics of Drug Sensitivity in Cancer (GDSC) was employed to predict drug responsiveness in STAD. Ultimately, CCK-8 assays and RT-qPCR were performed to confirm the correlation between CPNE1 expression and the IC50 of Axitinib in the AGS cell line. RESULT: CPNE1 is highly expressed in various cancers, including STAD. High expression of CPNE1 indicated poor overall survival (OS) of STAD (P < 0.05). The ROC curve suggested that CPNE1 was a potential diagnostic biomarker (AUC = 0.925). The functions of CPNE1 were enriched in DNA-acting catalytic activity, sulfur transferase activity, Ran GTPase binding, DNA helicase activity, helicase activity and eukaryotic ribosome biosynthesis. Hyper-methylated CPNE1 predicts better prognosis in STAD (P < 0.05). Additionally, STAD patients with high-expression CPNE1 seemed to be more resistant to the chemotherapeutic agents, including A-770041, WH-4-023, AZD-2281, AG-014699, AP-24534, Axitinib, AZD6244, RDEA119, AZD8055, Temsirolimus, Pazopanib and Roscovitine. In vitro experiments demonstrated the involvement of CPNE1 in Axitinib chemoresistance. CONCLUSION: CPNE1 could be a predictive biomarker and a potential target for biological therapy in STAD.

Amphistomes, commonly referred to as 'stomach' or 'rumen' flukes because of the localization of these flukes in the stomach of ruminants, are digenetic trematodes distinguished by the absence of an oral sucker and the position of the ventral sucker or acetabulum at the posterior end of the body. The body is characterized by a leaf-like fleshy structure, pink or red with a large posterior sucker. Amphistomes are an important group of parasites since they cause 'amphistomiasis' (variously known as paramphistomosis/amphistomosis), a serious disease of great economic importance in ruminants worldwide. These parasites have a broad spectrum of definitive hosts together with a wide geographical distribution. Though they form a continuous evolutional lineage from fishes to mammals, amphistomes mainly inhabit the rumen and reticulum of ruminant mammals, while some species occur in the large intestine or parenteric sites of ruminants, pigs, equines and man.

BACKGROUND: Sarcopenia, defined as progressive and generalised loss of skeletal muscle mass, quality, and strength, is considered as a poor prognostic factor in cancer. Outcomes in oncology mainly focus on survival related to disease and treatment. Other factors affecting the end result get less attention. This study was conducted with the aim to determine presence of sarcopenia in operable gastric cancer, factors positively correlating with presence of sarcopenia and its impact on early postoperative outcomes. METHODOLOGY: This is a prospective study conducted from January 2020 to December 2021 in a tertiary care cancer hospital. All patients with adenocarcinoma stomach planned for curative intent surgery were assessed for sarcopenia by measuring hand grip strength(HGS) and skeletal muscle index(SMI). Comparison was made between patient and tumour related factors in patients with and without sarcopenia and impact of sarcopenia on early postoperative outcome was assessed. RESULTS: 74 patients were assessed for sarcopenia. 32 (43.2 %) were patients diagnosed with sarcopenia. Advanced age(p = 0.040), low BMI (p < 0.001), gastric outlet obstruction (p = 0.020) and urgent surgery (p = 0.002) positively correlated with sarcopenia. Curative resection was done in 68(91.89 %) patients and these patients were evaluated for early postoperative outcomes. 18 (26.5 %) patients had complications of Clavien Dindo grade 3 or above. Sarcopenia was not significantly associated with major postoperative complications(p = 0.857). CONCLUSION: Sarcopenia, though associated with a substantial proportion of patients with gastric cancer, does not significantly affect early postoperative complications in a high volume oncology centre .

Hepatoid adenocarcinoma of the stomach (HAS) represents a rare malignant neoplasm sharing morphological and immunophenotypic similarities with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Pathological morphology serves as the cornerstone for diagnosis, often accompanied by elevated alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) levels, nonspecific clinical symptoms, and imaging features reminiscent of gastric adenocarcinoma (GA). Liver metastases from HAS can mimic the enhancement patterns of HCC, posing challenges in differentiation from high-risk HCC cases. Conversely, HAS typically exhibits poorer prognostic outcomes compared to HCC and GA. This report presents a case of HAS with liver metastasis alongside a comprehensive literature review covering its pathology, molecular mechanisms, clinical presentations, and treatment modalities. Special focus is given to imaging characteristics and the utilization of radiomics for early-stage detection. The integration of imaging findings with laboratory results aids in HAS diagnosis, while radiomics provides novel insights for precise discrimination. In conclusion, the identification of distinct imaging markers distinguishing HAS from HCC and GA shows promise in facilitating optimal treatment strategies and improving patient outcomes.

Primary gastric adenosquamous carcinoma (PGASC) is a rare type of gastric cancer with limited research and poorly understood clinicopathological features. This study investigated the clinicopathological features and outcomes of PGASC. Patients with PGASC from Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and from the published literature were enrolled in this study. Survival curves were generated using the Kaplan-Meier method, and prognostic factors were identified through Cox proportional hazards regression models. This study identified 76 eligible cases of PGASC, with 45 cases from published literature and 31 from our center. The most prevalent symptoms were abdominal pain and dysphagia, with a median age of 62 years (range: 29-84 years). The primary lesions were predominantly in the proximal stomach, with a median tumor size of 6.5 cm (range: 1.5-16.0 cm). Tumor stages II, III, and IV were detected in 12 (16.7%), 43 (59.7%), and 17 (23.6%) patients, respectively. Most tumors were poorly differentiated in both the squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) component and adenocarcinoma (AC) component. The median survival time was 17 months (range: 2-122 months). The 1, 3, and 5-year overall survival (OS) was 60.7%, 31.1%, and 24.1%, respectively. Multivariate analysis revealed that OS was independently predicted by the proportion of SCC component, differentiation of AC component, and tumor stage. PGASC is a rare disease with a poor prognosis. A high proportion of SCC components, low differentiated AC components, and advanced tumor were associated with worse survival in patients with PGASC. Adjuvant therapy did not improve survival time.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are the most common mesenchymal neoplasms of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, typically originating from the interstitial cells of Cajal. The clinical presentations are variable according to their size and shape but rarely present as a palpable abdominal mass. Pancreatic pseudocysts are common complications of chronic pancreatitis characterized by fluid collections surrounded by a non-epithelialized wall of fibrous and granulation tissue. Patients may present with non-specific symptoms like abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting and they generally have a history of acute pancreatitis. Small pseudocysts often resolve spontaneously, but larger ones often become symptomatic and may lead to complications. It is rare to find both a GIST of the stomach and a pseudocyst of the pancreas in the same patient. We present a unique case of a giant GIST and a pancreatic pseudocyst in a 72-year-old male who was experiencing abdominal pain and distension. Imaging revealed a massive lesion originating from the posterior gastric wall, which resembled a pseudocyst, along with a distinct cystic lesion adjacent to the pancreatic body. During surgical exploration, a complex interplay of both pathologies was discovered, requiring a comprehensive resection approach. The successful outcome highlights the importance of careful evaluation and personalized management in such rare cases.

An inflammatory fibroid polyp (Vanek's polyp) is a rare, benign, mesenchymal polyp originating from the submucosa of the gastrointestinal tract. Symptoms are non-specific and depend on the tumor size and location. Despite their benign nature, these tumors can mimic other malignant conditions, making an accurate diagnosis crucial for appropriate management. Histologically, they are submucosal lesions composed of spindle-shaped or stellate stromal cells, stroma with thin-walled vessels around which spindle-shaped cells are arranged similar to onion skin, an eosinophil-rich inflammatory infiltrate, and minimal mitotic activity. In this article, we present the case of a 63-year-old woman with a giant benign inflammatory fibroid polyp of the stomach. We performed distal esophageal resection, total gastrectomy, and omentectomy, as the passage was restored with a transmesocolic termino-lateral esophago-jejunal Roux-en-Y anastomosis. We also present a brief literature review on this topic.

OBJECTIVES: This study examines the effectiveness of dual-energy CT (DECT) delayed-phase extracellular volume (ECV) fraction in predicting tumor regression grade (TRG) in far-advanced gastric cancer (FAGC) patients receiving preoperative immuno-chemotherapy. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective analysis was performed on far-advanced gastric adenocarcinoma patients treated with preoperative immuno-chemotherapy at our institution from August 2019 to March 2023. Patients were categorized based on their TRG into pathological complete response (pCR) and non-pCR groups. ECV was determined using the delayed-phase iodine maps. In addition, tumor iodine densities and standardized iodine ratios were meticulously analyzed using the triple-phase enhanced iodine maps. Univariate analysis with five-fold cross-validation and Spearman correlation determined DECT parameters and clinical indicators association with pCR. The predictive accuracy of these parameters for pCR was evaluated using a weighted logistic regression model with five-fold cross-validation. RESULTS: Of the 88 patients enrolled (mean age 60.8 ± 11.1 years, 63 males), 21 (23.9%) achieved pCR. Univariate analysis indicated ECV's significant role in differentiating between pCR and non-pCR groups (average p value = 0.021). In the logistic regression model, ECV independently predicted pCR with an average odds ratio of 0.911 (95% confidence interval, 0.798-0.994). The model, incorporating ECV, tumor area, and IDAV (the relative change rate of iodine density from venous phase to arterial phase), showed an average area under curves (AUCs) of 0.780 (0.770-0.791) and 0.766 (0.731-0.800) for the training and validation sets, respectively, in predicting pCR. CONCLUSION: DECT-derived ECV fraction is a valuable predictor of TRG in FAGC patients undergoing preoperative immuno-chemotherapy. CLINICAL RELEVANCE STATEMENT: This study demonstrates that DECT-derived extracellular volume fraction is a reliable predictor for pathological complete response in far-advanced gastric cancer patients receiving preoperative immuno-chemotherapy, offering a noninvasive tool for identifying potential treatment beneficiaries.

BACKGROUND: Stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) is one of the main reasons for cancer-related deaths worldwide. This investigation aimed to define the connection between STAD and Cuproptosis-related genes (CRGs). Cuproptosis is a newly identified form of mitochondrial cell death triggered by copper. AIM: To explore the identification of potential biomarkers for STAD disease based on cuproptosis. METHODS: A predictive model using Gene Ontology (GO), Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO), Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG), Gene Set Variation Analysis (GSVA), and Gene Set Enrichment Analysis analyzed gene interconnections, focusing on 3 copper-related genes and their expression in The Cancer Genome Atlas-STAD. Networks for mRNA-miRNA and mRNA-transcription factor interactions were constructed. The prognostic significance of CRG scores was evaluated using time-receiver operating characteristic, Kaplan-Meier curves, and COX regression analysis. Validation was conducted with datasets GSE26942, GSE54129, and GSE66229. Expression of copper-related differentially expressed genes was also analyzed in various human tissues and gastric cancer subpopulations using the human protein atlas. RESULTS: Three significant genes (FDX1, LIAS, MTF1) were identified and selected via LASSO analysis to predict and classify individuals with STAD into high and low CRG score subgroups. These genes were down-regulated in both risk categories. GO and KEGG analyses highlighted their involvement mainly in the electron transport chain. After validating their differential expression, FDX1 emerged as the most accurate diagnostic marker for gastric cancer. Additionally, the RCircos package localized FDX1 on chromosome 11. CONCLUSION: Our study revealed that FDX1 could be a potential biomarker and treatment target for gastric malignancy, providing new ideas for further scientific research.
