OBJECTIVE: The authors demonstrate a case report of the peripartum cardiomyopathy that occurred at a so far healthy woman after the delivery by the caesarean section. SUBJECT: Case report. SETTING: Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1st Medical Faculty, Charles University and General Faculty Hospital, Prague. METHODS: The gravidity of a 28-year old primipara, gemini, was finished by the caesarean section because of cardiologic (benign cardiac extrasystoles) and obstetric (gemini clashing position) indication. After the delivery a heart failure started to develop. The diagnosis was closed as peripartum cardiomyopathy.
