Resumo
Aiming to protect historical documents of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, allocated in Historical Documentation Center City of the Vassouras, RJ, we began in 2007 entomological inspections where was identified the presence of beetles Tricorynus rudepunctatus Pic, 1904 (Ptinidae: Mesocoelopodinae) a long recognized as urban pest species. The species control was performed with isolation of material infected and sanitation of books with aspiration and manual picking of individuals found, besides bagging the material. The study was conducted between the years 2007 and 2012, where there were no more of these individuals found in the documentation after 2012. The present study aims to provide data on the distribution and bionomy of this species.
Com o objetivo de proteger documentos históricos dos séculos XIX e XX, alocados no Centro de Documentação Histórica da cidade de Vassouras, Rio de Janeiro, iniciaram-se em 2007 inspeções entomológicas que identificaram a presença de besouros Tricorynus rudepunctatus Pic, 1904 (Ptinidae: Mesocoelopodinae) há muito reconhecidos como pragas urbanas. O controle foi realizado com isolamento dos livros infectados e higienização dos mesmos por meio de aspiração e catação manual dos indivíduos encontrados, além do ensacamento do material. O trabalho foi concluído em 2012, quando não foram mais encontrados estes indivíduos na documentação. O presente trabalho objetiva colaborar com informações acerca da distribuição e bionomia da espécie.
