Resumo
The prevention and control of pain are essential components for an ideal anesthetic procedure. Pain in cats has historically been neglected and one of the causes for this is the difficulty of identifying and quantifying the intensity of pain in them. Recently, the "Unesp-Botucatu Multidimensional Scale for Assessment of Post-Surgical Acute Pain in Cats" was developed, which constitutes a new tool for the detection and appropriate treatment of feline pain. In this study, the evaluation of pain through the multimodal scale was essential so that the pain could be evaluated and, finally, allowed the necessary anti-anxiety treatment.
