Resumo
The aim of this study was to report a case of infiltrative lipomatosis in the neck and colon in a horse. A 12-year-old male Spanish Pure Breed Horse with deformation of dorsal neck, weighing 650 kg, with a history of acute colic for approximately 24 hours. Euthanasia was undertaken. A necropsy revealed general excessive lipid accumulation in subcutaneous tissue in the dorsal neck. The pelvic flexure of the large colon was found to be displaced into the right cranial abdomen. A large multinodular and multifocal infiltrative fatty mass coalescing was present in a 1.5 m segment of colon with severed lipomatosis; the small intestine proximal to this lesion was moderately distended with fluid. Lipomatosis in the dorsal neck was observed, characterized by diffuse thickening of the subcutis by mature adipose tissue. In conclusion we report a case of severed infiltrative lipomatosis intestinal in large colon and neck.

Last instar larva and pupa of Paramallocera hirta Kirby, 1818 are described and illustrated based on specimens reared in the laboratory from neonate larvae on Eucalyptus globulus ssp. globulus logs and on an artificial diet. Characteristics of possible diagnostic value are also presented in this paper.
Neste trabalho, se descrevem a larva do último instar e a pupa do Paramallocera hirta Kirby, 1818, com base em espécimes criados em laboratório a partir de larvas neonatas em toras de Eucalyptus globulus ssp. globulus e com uma dieta artificial. Apresentam-se, também, características com possível valor diagnóstico.
Resumo
Neste trabalho são descritas a larva do último instar e a pupa de Eurymerus eburioides Audinet-Serville, 1833, com base em espécimes criados em laboratório a partir de larvas neonatas de Eucalyptus globulus globulus. Apresentam-se, também, características com possível valor diagnóstico.

The description of the last instar larva and pupa of Phoracantha recurva Newman, 1842 and the redescription of the immature stages of Phoracantha semipunctata Fabricius, 1775 showing new characters of possible diagnostic value are presented in this work. A key of identification of both species based on these characters is also given.
O presente trabalho se refere à descrição do último ínstar larval e da pupa do Phoracantha recurva Newman, 1842, e à redescrição dos ínstares imaturos do Phoracantha semipunctata Fabricius, 1775, com base em novos caracteres morfológicos úteis para identificação das espécies. Além de apresentar uma chave para a identificação de larvas dessas espécies.
Resumo
The problem of neutron probe soil water content measurements close to soil surface is analysed from the spatial variability and also from the slow neutron "loss" to the atmosphere points of view. Results obtained on a dark red latosol of the county of Piracicaba,SP, indicate the possibility of precisely measuring the neutron "sphere of influence" when different media are used on soil surface.
O problema da medida da umidade nas proximidades da superfície do solo é abordado do ponto de vista de sua variabitidade espacial e da "perda" de nêutrons lentos para a atmosfera. Dados, obtidos em terra roxa estruturada do município de Piracicaba,SP, mostram a possibilidade de se avaliar, com precisão, a "esfera de influência" da medida, quando se utilizam meios diferentes na superfície do solo.
