Associação de placa LC-LCP e pino intramedular para artrodese pantarsal / Association of LC-LCP plate and intramedular pin for pantarsal arthrodesis

The objective of this work was to report the case of a dog with limb claudication of the right pelvic limb five months ago, using intramedullary pin associated with the LC-LCP plate in the surgical treatment. The surgical approach was made cranial to the tibiotarsal joint, applying the normalized 3mm intramedullary pin through the tibia to the calcaneus. A nine-hole 3.5 mm LC-LCP plate was applied associated with the pin using four proximally locked bolts and three distal locked bolts. On the eighth postoperative day, the animal returned daily activities while maintaining the integrity of the implant. The association of intramedullary pin with LC-LCP plaque promoted additional stability, thus reducing complications, which allowed us to introduce another alternative for the performance of pantarsal arthrodesis in dogs.(AU)

Tratamento de fratura exposta tipo Salter Harris I em felino através de artrodese temporária utilizando fixação externa / Treatment of exposed Salter Harris I fracture in feline by temporary arthrodesis using external fixation

A feline with a history of trauma for three days was diagnosed with Salter Harris I. The animal was then submitted to a surgical procedure where temporary joint arthrodesis was performed using pins and polymethylmethacrylate. The animal was followed by clinical orthopedic exams and radiographic evaluations.

Remoção de corpo estranho linear através de técnica de colocação de tubo intestinal / Removal of linear foreign body through intestinal tube placement technique

The present work had as objective to report the technique of using silicone tube forremoval of linear foreign body in dog. It was taken to animal care with vomiting anddiarrhea during three days, after it had ingested dental floss. After ultrasonographicexamination, the linear foreign body was seen from the stomach to the colon. During thesurgical procedure for removal was used silicone tube. The use of the tube reduced thequantity of enterotomies as well as the injury to the intestinal lumen by the traction of thelinear foreign body, indicating its use in cases in which the foreign body is located in alarge part of the gastrointestinal tract.
