Um total de 13 felinos hígidos foram avaliados ultrassonograficamente e radiograficamente a fim de mensurar o diâmetro do cólon descendente em região vesical. Todos os pacientes sem raça definida entre 2kg a 6 kg. Os valores obtidos do diâmetro do cólon no ultrassom e no raio-x não foram semelhantes (P=0,004) no teste t de Student, dessa forma não podemos correlacionar as técnicas e equivaler as medidas dos pacientes. Foi obtido uma média e desvio-padrão das medidas de diâmetro pelo ultrassom, esses valores podem ajudar a determinar um valor de referência a ser comparado nos casos de megacólon em trabalhos futuros.(AU)
A total of 13 healthy cats were evaluated ultrasonographically and radiographically in order to measure the diameter of the descending colon in the bladder region. The patients were all mixed breed between 2 kg to 6 kg. The values obtained from the diameter of the colon on ultrasound and x-ray were not similar (P = 0.004) in the Student's t test, so we cannot correlate the techniques and match the measurements of the patients. An average and standard deviation of the diameter measurements were obtained by ultrasound, these values can help to set a reference value to be compared in cases of megacolon in future works.(AU)
