Resumo
A cirurgia reconstrutiva tem sido rotineiramente aplicada na medicina veterinária, seja na reconstrução tecidual causada por trauma ou até no momento da ressecção do tumor. O carcinoma de células escamosas (CCE) é uma das neoplasias infiltravas mais comuns em felinos. Assim, o objetivo do presente estudo foi relatar um caso de excisão de CCE na região da pina em um gato doméstico (Felis catus). Foi atendido no setor de clínica médica no Departamento de Medicina Veterinária (DMV) da UFRPE, felino com lesão erosiva em pina. Na inspeção da lesão, foram observadas as áreas eritematosas, ulcerativas e crostosas. Durante a revisão histórica, observou-se que o animal foi submetido à pinectomia há 2 anos na orelha contralateral, com citologia sugestiva de CCE. Diante do quadro clínico, o animal foi encaminhado ao departamento de cirurgia do UFRPE DMV, com suspeita de recorrência do CCE. Com base no quadro clínico, a excisão da neoplasia com amplas margens livres foi escolhida através da ablação do conduto vertical, utilizando uma técnica de reconstrução cirúrgica com retalho axial da artéria omocervical. No exame histopatológico, os achados foram compatíveis com CCE bem diferenciado, com margens cirúrgicas livres. Após a alta, o paciente foi encaminhado ao departamento de oncologia.Reconstructive surgery has been routinely applied in veterinary medicine, either in tissue reconstruction caused by trauma or even at the moment of tumor resection. Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is one of the infiltrative malignancies most common in feline. Thus, the objective of the present study was to report a case of ECC in the pina region in a domestic cat (Felis catus), and surgical excision with reconstruction using omocervical axial flap was performed to correct the defect. It was attended in the medical clinic sector in the Department of Veterinary Medicine (DMV) of UFRPE, a feline with erosive lesion in pine. In the inspection of the lesion, the erythematous, ulcerative and crusty areas were observed. During the historical review, it was observed that the animal underwent pinectomy for 2 years in the contralateral ear, with cytology suggestive of SCC. Facing the clinical picture, the animal was referred to the surgery department of the UFRPE DMV, with suspicion of recurrence of SCC. Based on the clinical picture, the excision of the neoplasia with wide free margins was chosen through the ablation of the vertical conduit using a surgical reconstruction technique with the axial flap of the omocervical artery. In histopathological examination, the findings were compatible with well differentiated SCC, with free surgical margins. After discharge, the patient was referred to the oncology department.
