ABSTRACT

The purpose of this paper is to determine the selection curve of gill-nets used to catch curimbatá, Prochilodus scrofa (Steindachner, 1881), according to Gulland (1969). The result is  c* (L)=e-0.025(L-l.67m)2 Where c* (L)= relative frequency of retention,            L = length of the fish, and            m = perimeter of the mesh.
