ABSTRACT

The Artificial Insemination is a practice that provide significant improvements for breeding due to thedecrease of animals and maintenance of the reproductive indices, meaning lifting financial production returns. Thesix arrays used in this study were the breeds Large white, Duroc and crossbred with an average age of two years.Was performed lumbar pressure test determined the optimal time to perform the insemination. The players werepreviously evaluated and insemination dose was 50 ml, with two inseminations, with 12 hours. It used the spiralpipette Artificial Insemination intracervical (IAIC) and disposable pipette cap with the aid of IntrauterineInsemination catheter for intrauterine Artificial (IAIU), each model according insemination method, three arrays ineach method. The pregnancy rate was 66.67% and the rate of return to estrus was 33.33% for the two methods (P<0.05), so there was no significant statistical difference between the methods of Artificial Insemination.
