Resumo
A anestesia venosa total é uma técnica que envolve a indução e a manutenção anestésica somente com o uso de fármacos injetáveis. Essa prática teve seu uso reduzido com a produção dos anestésicos inalatórios halogenados. Porém, com a disponibilidade atual de anestésicos, analgésicos e relaxantes musculares de ação mais curta, rápida e previsível, melhoraram as perspectivas da anestesia venosa. Diversos benefícios podem ser obtidos com a anestesia venosa total e, portanto, tem se tornado crescente o interesse pela mesma em conseqüência do desenvolvimento de novos agentes venosos co perfis farmacocinéticos e farmacodinâmicos que permitem o controle cada vez melhor da anestesia e uma recuperação mais favorável(AU)The venous anesthesia is a technique that involves the anesthetic induction and maintenance only with the use of injectables farmaceuticals. This practice had it use reduced with the production of inhaled halogenated anesthetics. However, the current availability of anesthetics, pan killers and muscular relaxants that have a quicker, faster and predictable action, have improved the perspectives of venous anesthesia. Several benefits can be obtained with the total venous anesthesia and, therefore, it has attained growing interest attributed to the great development of new venous agents with pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics profiles that allow a better control of anesthesia and favorable recovery(AU)
