Resumo
O Pit Bull foi considerado uma raça espetacular para o esporte devido a suas características atléticas,assim, é de extrema importância a avaliação das características cardíacas dos animais desta raça. Aradiografia do tórax fornece informações sobre as dimensões das câmaras cardíacas, o estado do parênquimapulmonar, as vias aéreas superiores intratorácicas, a integridade anatômica das paredesda cavidade torácica e o estado pleural e da vascularização pulmonar. Outra ferramenta importantede avaliação para o sistema cardiovascular é a mensuração da pressão arterial sistêmica. Diante daausência de estudos específicos quanto à avaliação da silhueta cardíaca e da pressão arterial de cãeshígidos da raça Pit Bull, o trabalho em questão objetivou realizar avaliações radiográficas e de pressãoarterial em 10 cães adultos da raça referida, selecionados por meio de triagem de atendimento noHospital Veterinário da EV/UFG a fim de estabelecer esses parâmetros em cães desta raça. De acordocom os resultados obtidos, pode-se estabelecer que o valor de VHS para a raça é de ate 10,45 corposvertebrais. Na avaliação da pressão arterial estabeleceu-se que a pressão arterial sistólica e diastólicamédias para a raça Pit Bull é de 156,06mmHg e 77,41mmHg respectivamente(AU)The Pit Bull was considered a spectacular breed for the sport because of its athletic features, so it isextremely important the evaluation of the heart of these animals. The chest radiograph provides informationabout the dimensions of the heart chambers, the state of the lung parenchyma, the upperairways, the anatomical integrity of the walls of the thoracic cavity and pleural status and vascularity.Another important assessment tool for the cardiovascular system is the measurement of blood pressure.Given the absence of specific studies on the evaluation of the cardiac silhouette and blood pressureof healthy Pit Bulls, the work in question aimed to perform radiographic evaluations and blood pressurein 10 adult dogs of these breed that were selected by screening care at the Veterinary Hospital ofEV / UFG to establish these parameters. According to the results obtained, we can establish that thevalue of VHS for the race is up to 10.45 vertebral bodies. In the assessment of arterial blood pressure,has been established that the systolic and diastolic blood pressure averages for the breed Pit Bull is156.06 mmHg and 77.41 mmHg respectively(AU)
