Resumo
Estudos que envolvem conhecimentos dos pescadores artesanais ainda são escassos em ambientes fluviais, principalmente os localizados na região Sul do Brasil. O presente estudo objetiva analisar a pesca artesanal nas bacias hidrográficas dos rios Uruguai e Jacuí, RS, e a percepção dos pescadores sobre a situação dos recursos pesqueiros nestas Bacias. Foram entrevistados 77 pescadores, distribuídos em quatro municípios de cada bacia hidrográfica, totalizando 154 participantes, obtendo-se informações sobre características socioeconômicas dos pescadores, aspectos gerais da pesca, situação atual e possíveis ameaças aos recursos pesqueiros. Segundo os pescadores entrevistados, foram registrados cerca de 15 táxons de peixes de interesse comercial nestas bacias hidrográficas. Existe grande preocupação dos pescadores com a atual situação dos estoques pesqueiros nestas Bacias. Estes recursos vêm sofrendo acentuada diminuição causada por ações de origem antrópica, entre as quais se destaca a degradação ambiental, devida principalmente à poluição agrícola e doméstica, mineração, construção de barragens hidrelétricas e pesca ilegal. Algumas medidas, tais como fiscalização eficiente, repovoamento e, especificamente na bacia hidrográfica do rio Uruguai, a liberação da pesca do dourado (Salminus brasiliensis), foram sugeridas pelos pescadores aos gestores da pesca. Conclui-se que medidas mitigatórias devam ser aplicadas a fim de amenizar a situação decadente destes recursos pesqueiros.(AU)Studies that involve artisanal fishermens knowledge are still rare in fluvial regions, mainly in the south Brazil. This objective of this study is analyze the artisanal fishing in the hydrographic basins of the Uruguai and Jacuí-RS rivers and the perception of the fishermen about the situation of these fishing resources. We interviewed 77 fishermen, distributed in four municipalities of each river basin, totaling 154 participants, where information were acquired about social economic of the fisherman, general aspects of the fishing, actual situation and possible threats to fish resources. According to the interviewed fishermen, there were registered 15 fish taxons of commercial interest in these hydrographic basins. There is a big concern of the fishermen with the current situation of the fishing stock in these hydrographic basins. These resources are suffering huge reduction, caused by actions of anthropic origin, in which highlights the environmental degradation due, mainly, by the agricultural and domestic pollution, mining, construction of hydroelectric dam and illegal fishing. Some directions such as efficient inspection, restocking and specifically in the hydrographic basin of the Uruguai river the release of fishing the Salminus brasiliensis, were suggested by the fishermen to the fishing managers. It is concluded that mitigatory measures must be made, to reduce the decadent situation of these fishing resources.(AU)
