On the other hand phytochemical analysis of the extracts revealed presence of nortropânicos alkaloids calystegines B1 and B2 in the leaves of I. setifera which promote inhibition of β-glycosidase, α and β-galactosidase, and β-xylosidase, important enzymes for an adequate metabolism of carbohydrates in the organism. So if objective of this study is to perform a literature on chemical and toxicological properties of calisteginas alkaloids of the I. setifera. (AU)
