Resumo

A utilização das bandagens terapêuticas vem em crescente aplicação e discussão científica na reabilitação humana. Sua aplicação vem sendo descrita através do método Kinesio Taping como uma terapia complementar com resultados promissores em relação a otimização esportiva e reabilitação pós-operatória, por isso, vem sendo transposto e implementado suas técnicas para a medicina veterinária; no entanto, nenhum estudo realizado anteriormente confirma o seu real efeito na medicina veterinária, particularmente na reabilitação de equinos. OBJETIVOS: Avaliar o efeito da aplicação de bandagem elástica método Kinesio Taping na fisioterapia e reabilitação equina. FORMATO DO ESTUDO: Estudo realizado em 2 etapas, sendo o primeiro estudo experimental in vivo pela avaliação da bandagem terapêutica no controle de edemas pós artroscopia em equinos; o segundo estudo experimental in vivo por meio da avaliação objetiva do movimento verificando a influência da utilização de bandagem terapêutica na biomecânica equina. RESULTADOS: Primeiro estudo: O grupo tratado demonstrou maior ativação do sistema linfático, com redução significativa do edema a partir de 24 horas do tratamento em relação ao grupo controle, porém não demonstrando diferenças de temperatura significativas na avaliação termográfica. Segundo estudo: Em exercício de trote em linha reta, houve, após a remoção das bandagens diminuição do movimento ascendente (Maxdiff) e amplitude de movimento (ROM) da cabeça; aumento da ROM em articulação lombo-sacral, e maior simetria de movimentação descendente (Mindiff) em membro pélvico direito. Para o exercício ao círculo, apresentaram com protocolo (BIL) e (PIn), aumento da ROM, aumento de Mindiff da articulação lombo-sacral e maior inclinação lateral (H.H.D.) em direção ao membro interno do círculo. O membro interno do círculo apresentou menor movimento descendente em protocolo (BIL) e aumento de movimento ascendente quando aplicado bandagem em membro externo ao círculo. CONCLUSÃO: Concluímos de forma geral, que a utilização de bandagens terapêuticas promoveu efeito positivo no controle de edemas pós operatórios em equinos e apresentou influência na biomecânica equina, quando utilizado a técnica de facilitação muscular em músculo Glúteo Médio e Bíceps Femoral dos equinos.

The use of therapeutic bandages come in increasing application and scientific discussion on human rehabilitation. Its application has been described by the Kinesio Taping method as a complementary therapy with promising results regarding the sports optimization and post-operative rehabilitation, so it has been transposed and implemented his techniques for veterinary medicine; However, no previous study confirms its actual effect in veterinary medicine, particularly in the rehabilitation of horses. OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the effect of the application of elastic bandage - Kinesio Taping method - in physical therapy and equine rehabilitation. STUDY FORMAT: A study carried out in two stages, the first experimental study in vivo by evaluating the therapeutic bandage on control post arthroscopy edema in horses; the second experimental study in vivo by means of objective evaluation of the movement checking the influence of the use of therapeutic bandage on equine biomechanics. RESULTS: First study: The treated group showed greater activation of the lymphatic system, with significant reduction of edema from 24 hours of treatment compared to the control group, but not showing significant temperature differences in the thermal evaluation. According to the study: In trotting exercise straight, there was, after removing the bandages decreased upward movement (Maxdiff) and range of motion (ROM) of the head; increased ROM in lumbosacral joint, and greater symmetry of downward movement (Mindiff) in right hindlimb. For the year to circle presented with protocol (BIL) and (PIN), increased ROM, Mindiff increase the lumbosacral joint and greater lateral slope (H.H.D.) towards the circle of the inner member. The circle of the inner member showed less downward movement in protocol (BIL) and increased upward movement when applied bandage external member to the circle. CONCLUSION: in general, the use of therapeutic bandages promoted positive effect on postoperative edema control in horses and presented influence on equine biomechanics when used muscle facilitation technique gluteus medius muscle and Bicep Femoral of horses.
